This is through steam
Completely irrelevant question, is it through Windows 11? That would explain why it looks so different.
As to your post, yeah, what do you expect? It's BHVR.
-
There could be an issue with most of them being Public Domain. I'm not sure how such laws work in other countries. And technicalky, a few of the ones you listed are owned by Universal. The Creature from the Black Lagoon and Wolfman.
And in general, I think BHVR would prefer to make their own original concepts based On Vampire, werewolves, stuff like that.
Technically, BHVR already have mentioned Dracula. Just the 'actual' Dracula, Vlad the Impaler.

ordinarily i'd support this but there's a lot of places on rpd where the only accessible hooks have an unavoidable corridor locker in the way
more a map design issue than a head on issue but regardless
what would you think of a non-exhaustion smash hit that amplified your pallet stun durations
I was being sarcastic.
That's definitely just a map issue, but RPD is a map fill of issues.
Honestly, that version of Smash Hits sounds way more infuriating. I already dislike getting stunned.
-
You're right, because Smash Hit and Head On deserve nerfs.

It'll probably be the same with it on thanks to the hackers infesting the game
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if hackers somehow ######### the queues even more.
Then, like you already said, even if you do get a match, there's a chance you won't be able to play because BHVR is a competent company that cares about their game, especially during an event.
-
You play with cross-play off, right? That definitely affects it, but that's still ridiculous.
-
They won't turn them back on until crashing is fixed.
A part of me says they shouldn't turn them on until they do something about all the hackers, but they'll never do that so just gotta wait until they fix the crashing.
If only they could make an update where the game didn't crash every other match, but that would require effort.

The poster of that vid themselves steared this thread off topic, and it was also a rather poorly veiled self-plug for their (rather unsuccessful) Twitch channel.
That's a fair assessment, but it doesn't change the fact that you steered it even more off topic. All to complain about something it's clear BHVR will never change.
And what does the success of his Twitch channel have to do with anything?
Oh, wait, nothing! You're just being petty for no reason! Got it.

I may have mentioned WANTING to boycott, along with mentioning how I've deleted the game and such. But me wanting to boycott and actually boycotting are very different. OP doesn't seem to realise that however.
Clearly, saying you want something is a clear indication that you're trying to bring down the game. No no, not allowed to be upset with how the game is being run. You're just a dirty hater then.
-

yeah.
The more this goes on, the more bitter I get that BHVR doesn't seem to think we are important enough to keep their promises.
I should've quit back in 2019 honestly. I know a lot of other people would've if we weren't strung along with the hope that the game would be playable one day.
I used to have hope, it's all gone now.
BHVR has done nothing within the last year to give me even a hint that they give a #########.
I'm honestly just so pessimistic when it comes to everything in this game now.

Youre not missing too much. Survivors will rush gens and killers will tunnel and camp. Its how DbD always is during events.
Stay strong brother.

Just to add to this, I recently replayed God of War, a game that looks leagues better than DbD has ever looked mind you, and kept around a consistent 50+ FPS.

Yeah I think OP is either making things up completely or has no understanding of what people were saying or doing.
Even if there was a similar boycott to the last one, player numbers wouldnt decrease. The last one was just about not making in-game purchases. Either way OP seems to be deliberately wrong and I'm at a loss as to why...?
Who knows.
I guess I'm glad he's enjoying the game when I can't, though.

Can you link it? Or quote it? If only one or two people said it then no wonder nobody was aware and participating.
This is like cheering on a donut company because only one person was on a diet. Nobody else was dieting...
They might be talking about me and a few other forum users who decided to leave the game recently. Personally, I never saw anybody talking about a boycott, and I never mentioned one myself.
I guess OP took offense to people leaving this perfect game from this perfect company and is trying to act all high and mighty about #########.

and even so? I can still be happy that a bunch of people, a tiny minority, tried their best to attack BHVR and DBD and they failed and the game I like is doing very well, close to its all time peak
Then be happy, but don't act all high and mighty.
People are allowed to dislike the game and 'attack' BHVR for their scummy business practices. If you like the game, fine, I'm happy for you.
But don't act like people who complain are just there to be negative. I love this game too, maybe even more than you, and I'm disappointed to see it in this state.
-
@Jasonisanicefella said:

you say lapdog I say supporter, but the real point is that dbd is going VERY strong despite all the negativity of a tiny minority
You realize BHVR does not care about you, right? They do not know you exist, and they never will.
Your 'positivity doesn't matter, just like my negativity doesn't.
-
I don't give a single ######### about the balance choices BHVR make.
What I do care about is the scummy way that BHVR has been acting, and yes, I will continue to talk about it.
This chapter, once again, broke the game for many people and brought in a ######### ton of new bugs.
Console, once again, get's the short end of the stick due to BHVR's lack of care about their platform. @Pulsar has one of the longest discussions on the forum dedicated only to the lack of optimization the game has.
I could go on.
-
I never thought any kind of boycott would succeed, all I ever stated was that I am personally not going to play the game anymore. I never even said I was advocating for a boycott, people like you just took it that way. If you wanna continue to be BHVR's lapdog, then go ahead.
Hope you have fun with the game.
-
You've clearly never played DS3 if you think it's shoddy netcode is any good. Even if it was, the games are nowhere near similar.
Trickster is annoying but he's fine. I haven't seen "most" of the community say he's too strong.
Irritating to go against, sure. But not too strong.
-
Working, school, Valheim, and DS3.
Might get back into Paladins though

if the numbers will be good this all "outrage" will be for nothing, a complete failure.
And? People have a right to be upset, and don't deserve to have their feelings invalidated.
If you want to keep playing the game, that's fine. But you don't get to talk down to people who are stopping.

it's true! Hi-Rez has been on a ######### roll with these updates the past year. And almost the entire community is pretty damn haply with the game currently. The meta is constantly shifting, there's never a dull moment :D
Well, that's good to hear. I don't like MOBA's but I devoted a lot of time to Paladin's, and back before I quit that game I remember Hi-Rez being pretty not great. Glad to see they're being better.

Smite is a fantastic game, I highly recommend it, F2P and the developers are very open, straight forward and very customer focused. You can play everything in the game without spending a dime. It's fantastic.
I think this is the first time I've ever seen anybody call Hi-Rez customer focused.
BHVR don't you make me go back to them, don't you do that to me.

So? I didn't say a damn thing about the steam numbers, because I don't care.
-
That's your prerogative to believe so.
I'm personally done with BHVR's scummy business tactics, so no, I won't be coming back for the very likely recycled Halloween event.

I'll be completely honest, I just stopped playing Overwatch because I didn't think the new heroes were that interesting and I got heavy burnout on the game.

After seeing how BHVR blatantly lied to us and gave in to a cash grab that is environmentally, morally and financially despicable, I really can't bring myself to supporting their game anymore. Hell, chances are the game will be ruined anyway with the multitude of factors this brings like the possible Steam ban or the rise of VHS from DBD's burning ashes. If somehow the devs manage to resolve this in a satisfactory way I'll come back and play- I've given more to this game than I have any other- but until that niche scenario, I cannot play, endorse nor support this game in anyway shape or form.
I'd like to thank you all, the community, for the laughs and good times I've had in this game. The fun and sportsmanlike players, the intelligent and creative creators, hell even the trolls and cheaters who made me laugh when they didn't target me- I'll remember you all fondly whenever I think of this game. I'll stick around on the forums for a while to see what actions BHVR takes, but until then- goodbye DBD.
*Alright, lets find a new game to play. Maybe the one I was playing before DBD- it's been almost 3 years, but hey- what could have possibly happened to Overwatch in that time?*
Another person possibly going back to Overwatch of all games.
Jesus Christ BHVR, what have you done.

Lol I love the opening to Ni No Kuni 2. You control the president of the United States and get whisked away when a nuke hits your city. Then like a BAMF you use a gun to take down people trying to kill a prince. Also I fully plan on droqning in pokemon diamond and pearl
Wow, that is... Way different then the opening to Ni No Kuni 1.

I'm trying to get through DS2 atm, it doesn't even feel like the first game.
Oof, DS2 is... An interesting one. It's definitely the black-sheep of the Soulsborne family, but I won't go too indepth about it because then I'd reveal my obsession.
I will give you a little help though, level up adaptability. It makes the game easier, as it literally controls the i-frames of your roll. Because they thought that was a good idea.
I'd also recommend playing Bloodborne if you ever get the chance, as it's genuinely such a fantastic ######### game.

Actually playing Valheim (sometimes) already! I enjoy it. Ni No Kuni 1 was such a charming game, I didn't even know a second one came out. I'm a little too scared to restart my addiction to Pokemon, however.
