Same. It'd be great.
Real talk though, we could make like a Discord server or something.
I'd be down for that.

Yeah, seeing Orion and GoodBoyKaru leave/be banned was like seeing @Master be banned.
They were such prominent members of the Forum Community (and the only people ahead of me in upvotes) and they were very popular here. I always enjoyed reading what they had to say.
I did too. I'm hoping they come back to the forums one way or another eventually, but I can't say I would blame them if they didn't.

For anyone wonder Karu is shitposting on Twitter in the only way I can describe accurately is like a crazy eyed mad scientist that's screaming "I ######### warned you! But you didn't believe me! I'll be back and when I am you will all pay." Sort of mood
Ah, yeah? That's good to hear at least, shitposting is my favorite form of "I told you so."

I have no option but to do the same, sad thing to see how downhill this has come. I can't see the game ever making me quite as excited as when Stranger Things came out.
The worst thing to me is I was actually excited about the game again. After nearly 6 months of just "meh" towards the game, this mid-chapter made me excited to play the game.
Oh well.

I'd be down. At this rate, we'll probably have to make an entire other forum though, lol.
God if we could actually sustain a forum of people pissed at BHVR (I mean this one is already pretty pissed) I would be so insanely smug you have no idea

Karu is probably fuming right now. I can't blame him, either. First he got banned for no reason, and then this NFT stuff pops up? Yeah...
I mean, I haven't put nearly the amount of effort into this game as he has and I'm fuming. A lot of people are. I got most of my QnA information from his posts.
-
Hey, maybe we should make a group or something. Like a boy band for people pissed at BHVR.
Anybody can join, obviously.

I knew you well from your posts, and I agreed with them a lot of the time.
But yeah, seeing Orion leave was completely shocking for me.
Ah, well I'm glad to hear that. It sucks this has to be one of the first ways we've interacted, as far as I'm aware. If we have before, I'm sorry, I have a very bad memory.
I would love to hear what @GoodBoyKaru would say about this, but he's banned. He put a lot of effort into this forum alone, I can't imagine how upset he is

It's sad yet understandable seeing all these well known forum members leave.
Even though I don't know a lot of them personally, I have a lot of respect for them.
I wouldn't exactly call myself "well-known", but it was definitely a shock seeing @Orion leaving. They've been such a constant presence on the forum.
I can't blame them at all, considering I'm doing the exact same thing. I hope to see them stick around the forums, at least.

I appreciate and at the same time am saddened that so many acounts with thousands of posts are uninstalling. So many people come on here with like 10 posts to say they are leaving. Never has this many thousand deep posts done this though
I mean, I've poured thousands of hours of my life into this game.
I used to defend them, but I just can't anymore. First it was the mistreatment of console players, then chapter release after chapter release that was just rushed and buggy and terrible. I stopped buying things with money about 4-5 months ago, but this was just the final nail in the coffin. I loved this game. Hell, I was excited to about the patch tommorow.
But, BHVR, as they always manage to do, has ######### it up. They've made it so obvious they do not care about their consumers. I don't know why I ever even tried to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Agreed, DAU was and remains a failure.
And I apologize if my opinion comes off as ignorant or phobic, I just don’t think his aesthetic is either manly nor frightening (for a DBD killer), cultures aside. He looks like a BTS guy with a bad nose bleed and edgy contact lenses. If you saw him in a dark alley at night with his bat, sure it could be a little creepy - but compared to other killers visual design like Myers, Oni, Hag… he’s a cockroach on the scary meter.
Nah, I get it. I don't really like Trickster's design either (mostly because I don't like yellow as a color) but one of the biggest issues I always had with the All-Kill release was the intense amount of hatred just because he wasn't ugly, a monster, or a guy in a mask. I want BHVR to try new things.
The thing I do like about Trickster is how 'normal' he is in comparison to someone like Blight.

I agree. Darkness was an underwhelming chapter and Legion gets nice cosmetics but he’s another killer with a boring power. Lore is also lame; a little more work and it could have fit into the whole “disguised as survivor” theme that their trailer gave off.
Darkness Among Us is this game's biggest failure and I will probably never change my mind.

I mean it’s true right? They could have still given us a Korean artist as a killer without making him look like a pansy.
That's just different cultures though. In Korea, as far as I understand, Trickster's design is manly. Hell, from a few things I've seen floating around on the internet, there are some people scared of him in Korea. Where he's from.
I don't think it's fair to expect BHVR to design only for Western audiences.

All-Kill was a cash grab for BTS fanboys/fangirls. The only good thing from the chapter was a couple decent (niche) perks.
Killer power is boring and not very strong (Main Event really only shines in a camping situation). Lore (which I don’t really care about compared to gameplay and aesthetics) is generic. Yun-Jin is a cosmetic character.
I mean I can't say I disagree. I just find it leagues better in comparison to a few other chapters. Darkness Among Us in particular. Darkness Among Us did everything All-Kill did wrong, just worse.
Legion is a cosmetic character and nobody can change my mind. Their lore is some of the worst in the game, everything about their base design is drab and incredibly generic. Their original power design was so terrible it actually almost killed the game. Jeff is the only saving grace, along with some of the perks.
At least Yun-Kin has interesting lore and character.

Yeah I can see the resemblance. I’m just annoying that oni and slinger both integrated into their respective timelines perfectly yet Trickster has nothing to do with k pop whatsoever
Oni is my favorite killer in the game and I think Slinger has the best lore, so I would much rather either of them get some love. That being said, I think Trickster's lore is just okay. It's not as bad as Hag's or Legion's. It's really uninteresting but not terrible.
I wonder if they don't delve into K-Pop much because they worked with actual K-Pop studios to make All-Kill, and as far as I indy, K-Pop can be an incredibly bad time for the actual stars. Maybe they don't want to delve too far into it since they've worked with actual studios.
I think it would be interesting to see Ji-Woon be somewhat normal before he became a star, but I have a feeling his archive is just going to be about his murders.

Best written are slinger and oni imo. Trickster’s lore is boring and has nothing to do with K pop as a whole or the industry. He feels like a rehash of clown almost
Trickster feels way more like a different take on Ghostface to me. Him and Clown aren't really similar imo.
Hopefully his tome introduces something interesting for his character instead of "Ji-Woon Hak's adventures in boring murder".

This at the very minimum. It provides no feedback to a survivor trying to use an item for its intended purpose, while also rendering the item and its add-ons 100% useless (which could cost a survivor up to 18,000 BP to run). On top of that, it punishes them for doing so. I would be hard pressed to find any other interaction between perks and items in the game. Even as powerful as Franklin’s is, it has counterplay. This is just ‘Hee hee flashlight bad, my perk hard stops it all match’.
TLDR: It’s a perk with no feedback or counterplay.
While I think feedback is necessary, I don't think the perk is 'overpowered' in any sense. Any good killer will just stare at a wall or bait the flashlight out. And if you're using it to blind at pallets, well, why? You lose distance, and good killers will still track you with footsteps.
It's a bit of a training wheels perk, but I don't think that's bad. Not every perk really has counterplay. Iron Will has no counterplay, other than visuals. Which you could say is exactly the same for Lightborn. If you can't blind the killer, they have Lightborn. Stop trying to blind them. Boom, counterplay.
-
wat
how is it
All it needs in regards to the survivor side is an indicator, like Coulrophopobia or Unnerving Presence give. Other than that, it's completely fine. Nowhere near busted. It's practically a waste of a perk slot.
-
I already commented- But I am gonna add another thought. You bring up games like Alien Isolation, Resi 7, and the Silent Hill games. They all have something similar.
They're all single player. They aren't comparable to DbD at all, purely because they are incredibly different. All the games you listed are narratively focused single player games, two of them are first person, and the other two are survival horror. The only way their at all similar is some of the characters (Heather and Pyramid Head) and a general horror aesthetic. They don't play the same. They aren't the same type of horror.
Multiplayer games cannot replicate the single player experience. Especially when it comes to horror. Asking for DbD to replicate something like Resident Evil 7 makes no sense.
If you want to complain about Survivor meta perks, just complain about Survivor meta perks. There is no need to make this about 'making the game scary again.'
One last thought: Imo, Killer is nowhere near as hard as a large amount of FromSoft games (though they're difficulty is overrated too). And yes, as killer at least, I play at high SBMM.
Bloodborne manages to scare me more than any horror game though.
-
Here is what I do. I play them once to get their adepts, or if I have a daily/challenge to get done.
I play Steve the rest of the time.
-
You don't. DbD hasn't had a horror focus for a LONg time. I think if they decided to make any other media based on the lore it would be horror, but at this point it's an action PvP game with horror elements.
Cote said as much himself in the Resident Evil stream (the one that announced the chapter was coming, not the anniversary stream) when he introduced it as an action game. I think people are way too attached to the idea of this game being scary, mainly due to it's characters, when I don't think it can be. Familiarity kills horror, and this game gets very familiar very quick. You can have the occasional moment, I find Myers is still the jumpscare king, but the game itself isn't scary.
And in the current state of the game making "scarier" would make it unbalanced, and in general BHVR just aren't going to rework and add so many things. They just aren't.
-
You know Sluzzy, I still find Wraith one of the easiest killers to go against... I've even faced against ones with this exact (or very near exact) build!
But, if I'm able to consistently beat something so overpowered, what does that make me?
Am... I overpowered?
oh no

how does console matter?
Console has less control and less optimization. Framerate is typically lower and controller doesn't have as good as control as a mouse.
That being said, Doctor might be a good pick.
-
Are you on Console or PC? That changes things a lot.

Well in times like this it's best to ask an expert
@TheGannMan in your expert opinion as a spirit player, do you believe that she is in fact dead?
Other spirit mains please give your input to.
I'm not a Spirit Main but I do (unfortunately) play in high MMR most of the time.
I really doubt these nerfs are gonna kill her at all. It seems like they aren't putting in the spirit kicking up dust, so the only info Survivors have is the directional phasing. Spirit still controls the chase. She moves much faster than the Survivors still, she still generally has more info. I doubt this will affect high sbmm Spirit players at all. She has more counterplay now.
The Spirit players that only stood still will suffer, but we won't miss them.
-
Spirit was already dead tho
Her dad killed her

He's certainly raised a bit more than just Hell.

maybe it's an individual thing. I've never gotten the hang of nurse and I kinda feel like her and billy are the two killers I could play endlessly but it just never falls into place (although I guess eventually I might get survivors where I could win without using blinks). Blight on the other hand I can usually bonk some survivor skulls in pretty well even with no slowdowns, on indoor maps or after long breaks from him.
I'm in the same boat as you, at least halfway. I can't play Billy for #########.

She will always be hard for me as long as her fatigue remains. The loss of control of the camera and the screen darkening gives me migraines and prevent me from playing her more than 5 minutes.

The mechanic is fine, Nurse needs fatigue, but the visuals drive me insane.

@Pulsar said:
I think I've seen two Console Nurse's and they both got 4 man escaped.
Also, she makes me super motion sick.
Yeah, that doesn't surprise me. BHVR really just ######### console players with the way they design Killers.
And yeah, that's fair. I personally don't really get motion sick, but I can only imagine she would mess with that real bad.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
It's all relative to who you're playing against on Nurse. Like you said, you're 10 games in. You probably haven't run into a survivor who knows how to run her beyond a super basic level. You're eventually going to run into survivors that you're never really going to see in a chase, but still have to blink and hit.
That's definitely fair. I just feel like Nurse has this stigma of being "incredibly difficult to play" when, at least in my experience, once you get blinking down she isn't that difficult at all.
I find Blight much more difficult personally, yet everyone points to Nurse.
-
If Michael manages to get Infinite T3 in the time it takes for one gen it's because Survivor's fed him stalk.
That's literally all on the Survivors.
