Myers isn't weak, but he's not strong either. Oni is just Michael but better in every way. He moves 115% at the start, while Michael moves 105%. Oni has only two phases, while Michael needs to tier up twice before he gets an insta-down.
And Blood Rage is just... Better than Tier 3. Fantastic mobility, an instadown, longer (if harder to control) lunge. The only time Myers outshines Oni is in short loops where he can just do a simple lunge. But then again, Oni can break pallets with his kanobo during blood rage.
If Myers didn't have tier 1, he'd definitely be far better. At the end of the day, he's just an M1 killer with no map mobility. Not bad (his add-ons are probably some of the strongest in the game) but at this point even Ghostface offers a more reliable stalking mechanic. Myers can only use his power so many times.
Oni and Ghosty have unlimited use. He could use some minor changes to make him stronger.
-
Hag is a definite A tier. A good hag can destroy nearly any team. I'd 100% switch Blight and Michael, Blight is very strong while Myers suffers from a lot of issues. Doc is probably low A to high B. Legion is C, he injures people the easiest in the game by far. People seriously underestimate Legion, he's nowhere near the worst killer in the game.
Last but not least, a Wraith with add-ons is mid B tier. Without he's probably the worst killer in the game. This is all imo anyways.

The problem is slightly big shouldn't they be putting all of their efforts into fixing it? Many people I've recomended this game to don't like it from the moment I mention the gigantic amount of DLC and the Battle pass
They should be, yes. I'd say the immense amount of grind is one of the games biggest issues - but they have other things on their mind. The map reworks and new chapters seem to be their focus, and is probably being forced by some higher up in the company. Map reworks and new chapters get more attention.
-
Welcome to DbD, where the main way of getting items and perks is incredibly outdated and made for a time where there were around 50 perks.
You just have to grind. Get Bubba if you don't have him, soley for BBQ & Chili. The Dev's apparently "know" how terrible the grind is, and are "looking" at it.
-
I'd definitely move Blight and Oni up, but that may just be bias. Both of them can feel much more oppressive than Pyramid Head and even Huntress imo.

Body is 1 character too short

There isnt really even a problem for killers.
The ds bug was in for a week and allowed survivors to be tunneled out of the game. The hook bug allowed you to pressure two survivors. Like I said high priority vs low priority. One promoted a playstyle which made it possible to prevent a side form even having a match.
The hook bug was more of tech and a cool one at that but that's opinionated so ignore this. nurse is still the best killer and uncounterable when played well. Plague which I will give to you since I hear alot of complaints. That being said when it works shes a solid killer.
Huntress while she can have ghost hatchets it hardly happens and she gets the most bs hits from dedicated servers. Ghostface is annoying when you look directly at him and dont break him out but it's ok since hes loopable unlike ms throw a refrigerator. Ban vpns simple/the region lock thing you said.
Switching to p2p would show the killers ping. Lag switching very rarely happened back then. So not only will the killer have constant 0 ping we can see good and bad ping to dodge.
There isnt really even a problem for killers.
W A T. That's a problem we're just going to have to disagree on. Both sides have problems, killer and survivor.
Yes, it was in for a week. That's a very small amount of time considering how long some bugs can stay in this game. Like the Silent Slug bug which I see regularly. I'm not talking about that hook bug, I'm talking about a different one that didn't even let you hook a survivor cuz the game rubberbanded you back. It wasn't lag, it was a bug - introduced around the time of the Halloween event. I think it was fixed a week or two after the DS bug. You could fix it by swinging, but not every killer knew that. So both were huge problems, and the DS bug got fixed faster.
The hook "tech" is another bug and shouldn't be in the game, and it's also the only time I will ever facecamp. You wanna sit under a hooked survivor? Fine by me, double pressure - like you said.
Nurse being good doesn't excuse her bugs. Her being uncounterable is another issue that I will give survivors.
Plague just feels gross, it's the same thing. Doesn't matter if she's still an alright killer. The same thing's happening with Blight - he's a solid killer, but the fact that so many maps lack a hitbox for a lot of the terrain (the Swamps in specific suffer) severely neuter him.
As I said, Huntress and Ghosty have similar problems. Huntress doesn't suffer as much as Ghosty, and another thing I will admit is stupid is Hatchet Hitboxes.
Ghostface, as you said, can be stared at for a minute and nothing will happen... Or just get revealed randomly, by someone they couldn't see, and the killer instinct won't proc. These both happen regularly, often in the same match. I know this because I co-main him.
Killers do have problems, just like survivors have problems. Claiming that both; A: Survivor problems don't get fixed fast and B: Killers don't have problems is incredibly biased, and just outright false.
I can name a few things that hugely affect both sides:
The huge power difference between Solo and SWF.
The terrible, terrible matchmaking.
Killer's either being far to strong for their required skill (Spirit) or being way, way too weak (Wraith, Clown, Trapper...)

Yeah I don't know if that's a status effect or hag specific addon effect so I decided to call it my own status effect and buff it a bit (:
I'm always up for new Status Effects.
It strikes me as odd how Hag has a unique one. I'm pretty sure no other killer has an add-on that gives a unique effect like that. Not even Pig, who it'd make sense for.
-
Isn't there already a "Deafen" status effect? I feel like only Hag has something associated with it for some reason though.
Yeah, Disfigured Ear.
The cannibal village deaf boy's ear. Deformed due to several hits to the head. The trapped life essence within unlocks tremendous potential in The Hag's power.
- Survivors who trigger a Phantasm Trap are deafened for 6 seconds.

Talbot, you have a problem...
-
Man, if only I had $500 to waste.
Or I could find one that wasn't being scalped.
-
For Survivor?
Exploiting glitches and bugs.
Teaming with the killer to help them kill the other survivors.
Being really toxic in the postgame chat. Like... Racism, homophobia, death threats. That one might be a steam thing though, not a BHVR thng.
Hacking, obviously. For any reason. DCing a lot will get them longer and longer timed bans.
Messing with the games files for things like custom perk icons can lead to a ban if EAC detects and doesn't like it.
That's all I can think of. There are probably more that I'm not thinking of.
-
I'm not sure. Undying is in a similar boat as something like Unbreakable. Alone, it's never really guaranteed a use. Combined with very specific perks, it can feel oppressive (though I'd still say Ruindying is still easier to deal with then Multiple DS+UB's).
It'll get changed, that much is certain. I could see them doing a few things
Limiting the amount of times another totem can be transferred.
Removing the aura reading on dull/hex totems and keeping it for the other version (so that the perk isn't useless alone)

I mean I will because they will handle it after survivors get fixed. The problem is much more prevalent thus survivors bad hits should be prioritized on the fix list. Think of it like moris and keys. Moris were more op this they were fixed first, also it was a simple fix. I was referring to the devs not thinking the survivor bad hits arent as important not you.
Once again yes I will fully ignore the 1% of bad hits for killer as long as the devs subject us to year 2 of bad hits.
I mean I'm not saying they should ban people from playing oni, but they did subject survivors to play verse all these VPN bad wifi killers and were extremely quick to fix the killers problems.
I would prefer that both problems get fixed at the same time, but alright. Ah, I see.
They're extremely quick to fix issues on both sides, and extremely slow on others. Remember when DS was bugged so that some killers had a shortened stun duration? Fixed incredibly quick. But the hook bug stayed for a bit. Matchmaking is ######### terrible for both sides, but it tends to be worse for Killer (from what I've seen.) Nurse is still bugged. Plague is still bugged and feels terrible on the dedicated Servers. Both sides get the same treatment.
Ghostface and Huntress are in the same boat where they're either much harder to counter or dedicated servers break their powers completely. They can't do much against VPN's as far as I know, other than region lock the game perhaps or just kick you out if your ping is really bad. Like VPN bad. The problem is going back to P2P wouldn't exactly fix this, then people can just lag-switch and still get BS hits.

It may happen maybe 1% of the time which is why I ignore the problem for killer because it seriously turns people away from survivor. Clearly the survivors bad htis arent important as instead of fixing the validation uts instantly turned off when a killer like oni doesnt work. Survivor is already boring enough the fact that you can vpn and just abuse this is absurd.
It barely affects killers as seen. I'm able to hit someone fully through the window with resilience. You really trying to tell me that killers suffer from this?
You can't just ignore a tiny percent of the problem because it doesn't happen enough. I never said the survivor's side isn't important, don't put words in my mouth. You don't get to do that.
I will fully agree with you, Hit Validation sucks, and yes - most of the time it is massively in the killer's favor. Still doesn't mean you can just ignore the Killer's that do get issues because it doesn't happen often. That's not how it works.
VPNing sucks and shouldn't exist, I'll agree with you there. Also, what did you want them to do - Just not let people play with Oni until they figured it out?
-
@azame said:

Ok that's an exaggeration. I've never swung through people. As the clips show you can litterally swing at windows and get hits if the survivor is completely through. He even had resilience on.
Not an exaggeration at all. I've had it happen to me when my ping is perfectly fine. It tends to happen to survivors more, but you can't just discount server problems can affect killers. Just because it happens less doesn't mean it's not just as important.
This is a problem that affects both sides, you can't just ignore one side.
-
Finally, someone that doesn't put Wraith in the lowest spot! Hell, I'd say with good enough add-ons he's mid B-tier.
Without he's actually terrible, so C seems like a good middle-ground.
-
Totems are either the easiest thing to find in the game, just literally sitting in the middle of an open field
Or they're behind 17 lockers, tucked away in the corner of the map, inside a box that hides it. There is no middle ground. They're either ridiculously easy to see, or ######### impossible.
It's the Swamps that piss me off the most. Any time I run Ruin and I happen to get the Swamp, it's that insanely obvious spot right near the killer shack, most of the time facing towards a gen. Not any of the other stupid spots on the outskirts. Always the most obvious spot.
-
Who knows, really. I'm sure the general designs will stay the same, they'll just improve the graphical fidelity. Maybe add more definition to Wraith's... Lack of face. Make Trapper's design look a little better (at least I hope, I think it looks ridiculous as it is now.) We won't really know.
I imagine the Survivor's will just get better faces. Maybe improve their hair. What I'm mainly wondering is how many characters they'll be updating. What is the cut off for "older" characters? Probably Clown and Kate, as they both look fine. Clown doesn't have eyes, probably to increase spookiness, but he looks fine. Spirit looks great, pretty much all the Survivor's since Kate look great.
I think that Quentin and Freddy may be ignored. I can't say with the other licenses, but I'm pretty sure the Nightmare characters will be ignored. Poor Quentin
-
I mean, I guess it depends on what you mean by crutch. I mostly see the term "crutch" used for perks that people can't play without because they help them win, have powerful effects, etc;.
While BBQ's effect isn't bad, I think most people (including myself) just use it for the extra BP. I wouldn't call it a crutch at all.
-
Myers. I used to love Mikey and his playstyle, but eventually I realized I just liked Wraith more. Then Ghosty, and finally Oni who imo is just superior to Mikey in every shape and form. Michael is still fun, but I don't play him nearly as much as I used too.
-
The spawn of the hatch is set from the very start of the game, it's just invisible (as far as I know.) When it meets its requirements, it appears. The only way to affect that is the blueprints now.
So in those cases, they're just really lucky. I've had just as many times the hatch spawning underneath me (as either Surv or Killer) and had just as many times where we spend five minutes looking around for it.
-
You've never been able to escape out the exit gates with an active trap. This has never changed, all that changed was that Piggy's traps don't activate during EGC unless she put it on you before the last gen popped.
The only ways that guy escaped are either through the Hatch, or it was just a bug.
-
One of those good old fashioned player problems, not necessarily a Pig problem. Definitely sucks tho.
-
I wonder if it's a console thing then. I didn't get too much on PS4 (mostly because I learned long ago to make messaging available to only friends) but that meant pretty much all the friend requests I got were filled with idiotic vitriol (at least when it came to requests from DbD).
also, just, play how you want. I think one of the best things you can do to handle this game is to not take it so seriously. I use what I want, and I'm fine with people using whatever they want.
-
It'd be nice, but it's also kind of a pipe dream. If anything...
Please, just put Iridescent Shards in the free track. Please.

I've noticed BHVR is a little skittish when it comes to purple and iridescent addons.
Especially when a lot of purple addons apply short lived debuffs that already do very little -.-
What do you mean? Oni's Iridescent Family Crest is great! /s
Yeah, I've noticed the same thing. BHVR seems terrified to make good add-ons anymore, especially the higher tier ones. It's astonishing to see how game-changing and great older character's Add-Ons are (Like Iri Stone or All-Seeing Blood) and... Basically anything on Demo.
It seems like they want to focus on making the killer's base-kit good instead of giving them an add-on reliance like Wraith and Trapper have. I think that's a good idea on paper, but expensive Add-On's should still do something. Pyramid Head particularly suffers from this. A pretty large amount of his purples are garbage.
I can't say how it is with Twin's, considering I've never played them.

PC players are pretty chill.
You will get an occassional toxic dude... usually a survivor (even one on your own team) and sometimes you'll get a sore loser/winner killer. But that's a once a week thing more or less for me, and I play the game a lot.
That's what I've seemed to notice. I've seen a few cases of toxicity, mostly by my fellow survivors towards the killer, but even then it's pretty tame. Mostly stuff geared towards the actual killer they're playing as (which in all cases were the Twins'), and never towards the actual person. I got 1 case of someone calling Doc op, but still complimenting on how I played.
I know toxicity exists, I just think this community in particular needs to appreciate the wholesome parts more than focus on the toxic ones as much as they do.
-
I actually don't know, but I don't believe so. Deliverance is basically supposed to guarantee an Self Unhook. I remember there used to be a bug where adding luck offerings ontop of Deliverance would break it for some reason, but that's since been fixed. So I imagine if Monstrous Shrine did mess with Deliverance, it's a bug.
But let's get real, who would ever use Monstrous Shrine? It's the worst perk in the game imo.
-
No. It denies killers a perk slot for the majority of the game, and can be taken away before the endgame even triggers simply by the Survivors doing bones. At most it nets the killer an extra kill, unless Survivor's are being overly altruistic.
-
That feel when you put on Tar Bottle and get Lery's or The Game.
On topic, I wouldn't be opposed. It'd be a nice QoL change for him.

but it's better for the game financially. do you value money or players more? i don't know about you, but as a veteran player, i would support this system, because it would make the game last longer. i see no harm in that. also, since the new characters are locked until next mid-chapter, there is plenty of time to farm those iridescent shards.
should the mods send this discussion to feedback & suggestions?
I value the playerbase and community more. If they put any thing like this through, it would split the playerbase. And I've been playing this game for three years, so no - I'm not new.
Imagine your somebody who has bought every chapter, grinded out all the perks on every character. You've spent well over $100 on this game.
Well guess what, your now locked out of the things YOU bought! Congrats, go ######### yourself! Pay us more money!
I honestly think this game would die if they made it like this. You aren't thinking about the community, what really matters. There is no community without the game, sure, but there's also no game without the community.
Besides, it doesn't matter. BHVR has stated multiple times they don't want to add anything that would split the playerbase, as this idea would. And yes, it would.

it's really not satire. the mobile gaming industry shows us that consumers like to buy a lot of skins and loot for their favorite games. Dead by Daylight has reached enough popularity to cash in on this. and it doesn't have to be just Dead by Daylight Mobile - the main game should also add this premium subscription. in my opinion, it's very healthy for the game's long-term life. stronger servers, value for your money even more, investment and retaining player-base, etc. these are just examples of what benefits a premium subscription system could yield.
You do realize mobile games are some of the most anti-consumer pieces of media to exist, right? DbD does not need to be like that. DbD Mobile can get away with it, because it's a free game. Normal DbD isn't. Giving cosmetics for free to premium users? Yeah, whatever.
But locking things like better matchmaking and perks behind it would be the worst decision they could ever make. It would considerably split the playerbase, and locking new characters from "lite" players is one of the most greedy, selfish things I can think of? Oh, you're someone that wants to grind for characters? ######### you, work twice as hard. Also, you can't buy them for a month. Just be richer 4head!
A change like the ones you listed would make this game worse, not better. It would not only be Pay 2 Win but basically Pay 2 Play unless you want ######### matchmaking. This would make BHVR on Bethesda, EA, or Hi-Rez levels of greedy. #########, I've never been more glad the Dev's don't look to General Discussions for ideas.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
sounds good to me, but the meta perks should also be limited to subscription owners. matchmaking should be prioritized for subscription owners as well, meaning you will get fair games if you have premium subscription, and for those who don't have subscription, will have completely random matchmaking.
to add onto this, new killers and survivors will be locked for lite players until the next mid-chapter, at which point it will unlock, but iridescent shards cost will be 18,000 instead.
Please be satire please be satire please be satire
-
BHVR more than likely won't do this, especially the Premium Queue idea. The last thing BHVR wants to do is split the playerbase even more. Besides, they seem to be doing just fine with their current means of monetization. I like a few ideas, the instant access to the rift (and multiple loadouts should be a basegame thing) but I'm not a fan of Loot Boxes. They suck, in any game.
-
No ones mentioning how ridiculous Wraith moving full speed while uncloaking is. I've seen a bug where he actually did that and... Whoo boy. Could he stand to move a little faster? Definitely. But moving full speed (which either means 115% or his 126% during Cloak) would be too much. He's already pretty good at getting first hits. And I say this as someone who absolutely loves Bing Bong Boi. True invisibility (which the Dev's have confirmed is coming) and a higher Cloak speed is fine though. Not ALL of them base, but Green is totally fine.
Also, Slinger moving 115%? Jaysus. Slinger moves slow because his chase is arguably the best in the game.

@IndianaDadGuy said:
My suggestion was to reset the kill timer, honestly. You're penalized by RNG rather than failed skill attempts currently. If it resets the timer after passing skill checks, then fine - it just wastes time. It shouldn't kill you after passing every skill check thrown at you, multiple times.
That'd still be a very silly change. Survivors are supposed to feel pressured if they don't get it off on the first try. Making it reset would completely remove any pressure her traps give. I can count how many times I've died to a Pig's RBT on one hand. They don't need to be nerfed at all.
They...
- Pause during chase
- Pause if you're downed.
- Pause if you're hooked
- Don't activate until a generator is completed after it's put on, so you can easily search a few boxes before your generator is complete.
- Don't activate during EGC unless it was already on before the last gen was completed, which means during the EGC, her power is basically useless.
You're asking to make Pig's main power pretty useless and non threatening. Imagine if you got out of Trapper's traps first try? It'd remove all the pressure he could ever have.
-
It's bad enough wasting time removing them to begin with..
That's the point of the RBT's. They waste time. I'm not a Pig main, but it's pretty common knowledge that that Pig's traps aren't for lethality, they're to slow the game down. This would be a pretty big nerf to Pig, who could actually use some buffs. Her Game Stall is the only thing she has compared to the other stealth killers, because it definitely isn't her Stealth, which in my opinion is the worst in the game.
I thought when people said "Nerf Piggy" it was a joke.
-
As far as I understand it's just very precise timing. If she see's you trying to light burb she can either just teleport immediately or just not. It's way harder to Lightburn a Nurse than a Wraith.

I mean yes that's the point at hand. If you cant loop a killer because of something outside of your control why play survivor all you have is chase interaction outside of gens. I'm willing to guess you're the pre throw, w key killer main. You aren't very good at survivor so you do the cheese strategy and call survivor easy right?
First of all, don't try to say you know me. I don't got a damn thing to prove to you. Get off your high horse. At topic, no - I play both equally. I do find survivor easier to play as, but I don't think the role is braindead easy. I'm still learning how to combine loops together, but I'm certainly not a "Pre Throw, Hold W cheese gamer". I literally said I get the OP's gripes with Slinger, playing against a good one can be very unfun, but my point stands.
Not every single killer in this game should be a killer that can be looped, that would inevitably make them all the same damn thing, just with slightly different ways of getting around and damaging people. I would 100% rather go against a Slinger than a Spirit or a Freddy. The only irritating thing I dislike about Slinger is the people that play him tend to spam zone, but he's not the only killer that can zone. He just does it the best.
-
Gotta love these "I can't loop this killer so they = unfun >:(" posts.
I get your gripes with Slinger, (Spirit and Freddy are 10000% worse) but you really shouldn't be able to "conventionally loop" every killer.
Also you can't loop a Spirit, what're you talking about?
-
"Easily moderate the toxic"
They can barely moderate normal toxicity. I'd rather not. If I can just like opt out and have everyone muted the second I join a game, then sure, I guess.
-
In a gameplay sense, noise is important. I feel like most of these are probably good, a good example is Huntress' little inhale when she starts charging her hatchet, and the only good noise cue on Demo is his little hiss when charging shred. But there are a definite few that don't need it.
Demo doesn't need to blast across the entire map whenever he takes a few steps, and honestly I'd be fine with them removing the noise from his teleport. His footsteps are already loud as hell. "uNdEtEcTaBlE bTw"
I despise Hillbilly's roar with every single fiber of my being. The chainsaw is already a noise cue enough, I have no idea why they added a roar.
Why on earth does Clown grunt when he vaults. He's the only killer that does this. Seriously, why? It removes all possible mindgames at vaults. I'm hoping it will get removed whenever his rework comes out.
-
Well, I don't think there will ever be a DbD 2 - at least not for awhile. There is no reason for them to make a sequel, not when they've been making so much new content. I could be proven wrong though. But if they did, I don't imagine they'd get rid of any killers. Maybe rework a few, and we would probably lose some licenses, but I'm pretty damn sure all the original killers would appear.

There was no skill check, which is why I thought it would be Surge, except it procced on hook as I recall. It was a really weird thing. Never saw anything like it.
Now that I think about it it was definitely Dead Man's Switch. I likely mis-saw the perk icon. Might have also mistaken when it procced, and I recall I let go of the gen for a bit so that's probably why it happened AND I just mistook it for the gen blowing.
Thanks.
The only explanation I can think of for a gen exploding on a hook like Surge is lag. But it'd have to be some really bad lag or something. Otherwise, unless I'm forgetting about some perk, there is no possible way for a gen to explode on a hook.

You're joking right?
Ormond is still big, but in general, a lot of the pallets are incredibly unsafe now. It's nowhere near as broken as it used to be. That and yes, there are far more dead zones. It's more or less a "Hold W" I'd say it's balanced, leaning more on the killer side at this point. Hawkin's is another big map but it's made killer-sided by just how ######### the pallets are. Though, with how open it is now, Ghostie can barely function since you can see his "sTeAlTh" outfit from a mile away now.
So no, I don't think this person is joking. I've had a far easier time as killer on this map than I ever did before.

Dead Man's Switch! I forgot that perk existed. Yeah, that probably explains it, they have very similar art - at least similar enough where one could mistake one for the other if it was just a tiny symbol in the corner. So it was probably Dead Man's Switch + Surge/Oppression. Probably, anyways.
