I assume your talking about Victor, which if you are... Don't call him a baby, BHVR doesn't like that. Just warning ya.
On topic, he isn't treated as a killer - that's why he has no red stain or terror radius. He does have a "shrieking radius" which has always been pretty loud, at least in my experience. It's the same reason things like Spine Chill don't work on him. He is technically a power. Survivor perks don't work on him because killer perks don't. If survivor perks worked on him but killer perks didn't, it'd be unfair, at least imo.
His hitbox is stupid, I'll give you that. The times where he has clearly missed me but still latched on to me or downed me is stupid. As for pallets... Not every killer needs to respect pallets. That'd be incredibly boring. Again, imo. I think the reason they made his hitbox so forgiving is because he's the only power you can literally destroy. If he misses, it can be incredibly punishing. Travel in pairs, that's something I've seen a lot of people say. You can kick victor after he gets a successful down.
This killer is very unique. Fun, not so much - their playstyle is almost always proxy camping and heavy slugging, but maybe they'll fix that.
-
They normally delegate perk changes to the Mid-Chapters. Sometimes we get a random one in hotfixes, but most of the time the perks only get changed during mid-chapters or chapter releases. So, in like a month.
-
Overheat sucks, and he feels way more clunky to use (imo). I don't like him very much. The add-ons could have used changes, sure, but I think his basekit was perfectly fine. They just made him a less fun version of himself. Oh, and that roar is terrible.
Gone but never forgotten.

Wraith doesn't need any buffs. He is fine how he is.
As a Wraith main, incorrect. He is one of the most add-on dependent killers in the game. He doesn't need major buffs or a rework, just something to make him not so add-on dependent. Besides, Devs have already said he's getting some, so no point in saying he doesn't need any.
At Topic, I doubt it'll be completely true invisibility. I see him getting something similar to Freddy, true invisibility up until 16 or maybe 8 meters, at which point his shimmer will come back. He also could definitely use some more speed while cloaked, but we won't know until it comes out.

I love how they're so protective with bloodpoints for some reason. I wonder if they thought about giving 5,000 bloodpoints then thought that maybe it wasn't enough and had to up it to 10,000.

They have to be careful with their bloodpoint economy, though :'(
Imagine people actually being able to unlock things and have fun with it
Don't you guys know? Bloodpoints are a very rare, precious resource! We should be thankful for the 3 brown items we can get!
I am glad they're doing something for the Holiday season, and if this is all to make their important events bigger and better I'm all for it, but 10k all month so far is just... Pathetic.

Cosmetics are a bit of a hot topic around here, but they're the way the dev's make most of their money. If cosmetics didn't sell, the DLC's would likely cost more or you couldn't get them with Iri Shards. I'd rather have some optional $5-$10 cosmetics be sold then boot up the price of the DLC's.

Wholesomeness? On this forum?
Thank you. May your snoot be booped.

Depends on what timeline BHVR uses. If we get any Halloween (2018) skins in the future, they won't be related, since they aren't related in that timeline.

Thanks! If I was going to buy anyone, who would you recommend?
Depends on what kind of playstyle you enjoy. Ghostface and Pig are s n e a k y (So is Myers, to a lesser extent.) Oni let's you go fast, so does Blight. A good beginner killer is Legion, they excel at getting people injured and one of their perks is pretty damn good. The other two are meme perks, but fun to use.
Deathslinger and Pyramid Head have ranged attacks, and Pyramid Head nullifies a large portion of the Survivor meta with his cages. Slinger has some of the best chase in the entire game, but lacks pressure.
Spirit is incredibly good and easy to use, to the point where she's a bit stupid OP. Freddy is the same way, but keep in mind Freddy will likely be getting some changes soon. Nerfs, probably.
Doctor is also really good. He's anti-stealth, with a bit of anti-loop in him. Clown is arguably one of the weakest killers in the game, but he's getting some reworks soon, hopefully which will buff him.
There's more, but if I were to explain every killer and all their perks, this post would be incredibly long. Just buy whoever you find fun, or whoever's perks you enjoy! There are a few cases where the killer is good but the perks are terrible, like in Oni's case, or the perks are pretty damn good but the killer isn't everybodies cup of tea. Like Hag, or Plague. Just research them, look up videos, see who you might enjoy!
-
"Oh, no, this pallet is blocked! I guess I'll just run to another pallet or vault with the speed boost I get from being hit! It's not like this perk affects anything but the pallet right next to me!"
This perk is the epitome of
Oh no!
Anyways...
-
Well, Survivor's don't really change gameplay that much. Just play whoever you want! Female characters have a bit of a smaller model, and some are quieter, but that's about how much they change the gameplay.
For Killers, well... Wraith can be a good bit of fun, imo, and so can Demo. Wraith is really good at sneaking up on people, and with Demo you have Shred. Billy's probably the best one, but he feels so clunky now compared to how he used to feel.
-
"Yes, keep healing through Sloppy Butcher!"
-Danny Johnson, totally a survivor.

They didn't answer it, which leads me to believe it's nowhere near ready yet.
It's cancelled. They couldn't say it's cancelled during the Q&A, because that would have caused a large number of complaints. "It's still being worked on." takes no time at all to say, so if it was actually still in development they would have said that, but they didn't.
Well, at this point I'm inclined to believe you. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised, but I doubt it.

Well... so they just lied to our faces
Sure looks like it.
Oh, BHVR.
-
If we're talking about with Add-Ons, Wraith can be a beast. There's nothing funnier than watching a Survivor point and butt-dance at pallet just to freak out as Wraith destroys it in less then a second, or watch them get confused as you use Windstorm speed to block a pallet.
Add-Onless is another story, but maybe his tweaks will change that.
-
But it has a low survival rate! So clearly, it's okay!
Object is such a unfun perk, that enforces tunneling most of the time. I don't know how they defend such an Anti-Fun perk because "it has a low survival rate."
-
Well, Freddy is leagues better than Pig, to the point where he's likely getting nerfed soon, so there's that, but his perks aren't great.
Pig is mid-tier, with a meh stealth ability, a meh dash, and RNG game slowdown. Her perks (aside from Hangman's Trick.) Are decent though.
Edit: Forgot Survivor's existed for a second there.
Quentin's perks are trash, and need buffs.
Tapps perks are decent enough. Not great, mind you, but decent.
-
At this point I'm afraid that Blight will turn into another Nurse with ignored bugs.

That's true, but in my near 3 years of playing this game, I have never seen a Nurse get flashlight burned. Hag is definitely good, but again, she only has her web. If you chase in that Web, she's god tier.
Fair point.

Nurses blinks CAN be taken away with flashlights. I main four killers, nurse, huntress, hag, and spirit. (Btw I listed them by how often I play each one.) I personally think that a god nurse would beat a god hag, but a good nurse and a good hag would be about even. I'd put them in the same tier. Without bugs though, thats a whole different story.

Keep the bloodweb for items & addons & remove perks from it completely.
Then each level you get a perk point you can use to either unlock a perk you own or level up one your character has already.
I can't see a downside to that
That's a very interesting idea to solve the grind. Honestly, I don't think perk tiers even need to exist anymore. I don't know, something just needs to be done in terms of the perks and getting them.
-
@Hyd said:
Bloodweb and grind already needs to be addressed NOW so I can't imagine how much worse it'll be for new players 1 or 2 years from now if they leave it as-is. RNG needs to go, just make all the perks/add-ons/offerings available at certain levels - tier 1 available very early on, maybe even immediately, tier 2 available at level X, tier 3 available at level Y, etc - let people buy what they want, at any time, with the BP they have, and allow people to play with the items they want.
Even with that said though, I can't imagine all of BHVR is assigned to this game (600+ people? There's no way), maybe 50 people, 100 max. The rest must certainly be working on a sequel or some other unannounced game.
As far as I understand, BHVR does have some other projects, but I can't remember what they were off the top of my head. A few mobile games, ports.
I don't think DbD will ever get a sequel, I don't view it as a... Sequel-needing game. What would they do? Maybe some related projects, I would kill for some Single Player games set in the same universe, but not a sequel.

Hag is just as powerful as nurse. You do realize that right?
I wouldn't say Hag is just as powerful as Nurse. Nurse will always be the best killer in the game (other than her bugs) and unless they rework her, that will never change. Hag has to set up, Nurse does not. Hag's teleport can be taken away (with Flashlight's), Nurse's cannot. Hag is very powerful, yes, but I feel like good SWF's can still deal with her somewhat.
-
@Boddy604 said:
It'll keep going as long as people keep buying the DLC.
Eventually though (and by eventually I mean now lol) they're gonna need to let people omit teachables they dont want from their bloodwebs.
As is, I already need to to level a survivor to 60+ a lot of the time before I even get level one of the 4 perks i want.
Oooh definitely. The bloodweb is outdated, in every sense of the word imo. If we get to the point where there are 200 perks... Jesus Christ.

Didn't the devs say they don't hand pick questions, and instead go off of votes?
If so this outright proves they lied to us.
I know they do often read the most heavily upvoted, but I don't know if they ever said they don't handpick questions. I'm pretty sure there was a question about OoO that was pretty highly upvoted too...

@Cornpopers_Evan said:
Well, seeing as how with every licensed chapter they always bring in a boatload of new players. They’ll always have a influx of wanting new content. So, basically, I have no idea. xD
That's a very good point. How many licenced properties they get will probably heavily influence the games overall lifespan. Maybe someday, this game will become the Smash Bros. of horror, and we'll have over 70 killers from all different kinds of media. Of course with the Originals.
-
Nah. I had a question about it for the QnA, and I believe it was number two in all of the questions in terms of upvotes.
They didn't answer it, which leads me to believe it's nowhere near ready yet.
Or, just like Elden Ring, it doesn't exist.
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
I can see myself boasting to my grandchildren that i use to play the game when there were only 22 killers and just like pokemon it got stale after the original 151 killers
I agree. After Gen 5, the Killer's really started to go downhill.
-
But it's good for the people who haven't completed the Rift yet.
Are you seriously trying to say this was a bad decision? I am actually 100% in support of this, and I would be even if I had completed the rift.
-
Nurse, maybe Huntress, Pyramid Head. Oni probably could. A good Blight.
Uh... Maybe a Hag too, but that's a hard maybe. And maybe Billy. I think that's it. I may be forgetting someone. Edit: I forgot about Spirit. Fredy too, probably.
Deathslinger, for all the hate he gets, couldn't due to his lack of map pressure (imo). And neither could anyone else, since they rely on Add-Ons way too much (Wraith, Myers) or maybe they have a solid power, but have zero map pressure (Bubba, Deathslinger.)
I don't know about the Twins, I haven't seen them enough but their main power seems to be slugging and camping, so... Maybe?
-
From my experience, it's "Don't come near I'm being camped."
-
Community gets nowhere cuz they just talk around each other.
Yeah, pretty much. The devs could never split this community as much as it does by itself.
-
Strength: Blood Fury is 100% one of the strongest powers in the game. If it was as readily available as either of the chainsaws, it would probably make him the best killer in the game (Imo). He has fantastic pressure, and with the right build, he can just destroy a team in seconds.
Weakness: Longwalls are actually kinda hard to use his power at, as far as I've noticed. He also has a weakness that Myers does (just not to such a drastic margin) where he has to farm his ability off of Survivors. A good team will hold off that first hit for as long as they can.
-
Hush! You aren't supposed to praise the devs, thats sacrilege!
Everything aside, it's nice to see positivity. Whoever runs music always kills it.

There was no audacity; no boldness or daring shamelessness. They were not attempting to go WHAT NOW, COME AT ME BRO and provoke any fights. They issued an easy (such as it is with this game) fix for a defective, degenerative game mechanic. I agree that keys are a major issue too, but one fix should not hold up another fix. People have this imagined sense of equity or justice that pertains to game balance. That isn't how anything works.
I was just being sarcastic. I don't think they were daring anything at all, but a ton of people seem to think this makes them the most survivor sided thing in existence.
-
Because the Dev's had the audacity to nerf them before Keys. /s
The nerf could've came at a better time, sure, but your right - The forums have been pretty much nothing but discussions on Mori's.
-
Clown op I guess.
The pain of Solo queue. You missed the part where they have to run to the very corner of the map to heal.

it did in the sense of when the hatch spawns, so like mori where it can only be used when the survivor is on last hook, if all 4 survs are alive (where the key is strongest) all 5 gens must be done, so its p.much the same concept.
@Terro said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1811548#Comment_1811548
Wasn't hatch always like that? The only thing they changed was when only 1 survivor was alive. Hatch would always spawn instead of requiring a certain number of gens to be done.
The hatch has not been changed for a long time. The only thing that's been changed about it, since I started playing in 2017, was they changed killer being able to grab a survivor out of the hatch to closing the hatch. EGC did not change the way the Hatch works, other than closing it starts the EGC. It's spawning hasn't changed.

Inner Strength is a far better healing perk, that works far faster, for less effort.

If it's only a 3 secound Animation then it will be ok but nothing more.
It might be three seconds, it might be more. Mori's were terrible and needed to be reworked, but both sides deserve to have their grievances looked at. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
-
It's not like this argument even matters. The Dev's have already decided, and when have they ever changed their minds?
They've put time and effort into the key change already, they aren't gonna change their mind because someone posted on these forums. They never have, aside from MMR, and it won't start now.
-
Haddonfield, bad for a killer?
What a shock.
Seriously tho, that does seem like an oversight.
