    1. NO! Missing a skill check is 10% regression. 8% is WAAAY too much. Maybe something like 2%? Nothing much, but something
    2. I whole heartedly agree, but Ruin would definitely have to be soft reworked, because that would just be OP unless it's the same regression for both, in which case it would be borderline useless.
    3. 5 seconds would be perfect. 10 seconds is 1/8 of a generator, and that's probably a bit too long if we are adding all these other things on top of it.

Is missing a skillcheck really 10%? I always thought it was 5%. It certainly doesn't look like 10%. Weird.

  • Surge would only proc if you were in the 32 meters of a downed survivor, it shouldn't proc on hooked survivors.

Did it happen right as the Survivor was hooked, or maybe a few seconds after. If after, it might've been Oppression that made the gen explode. Was there a difficult skillcheck?

But that wouldn't explain Thrilling, or the Blood Favor thing.

I have no idea how to explain this. Either a really, really weird bug or maybe hacks? Did you happen to see the Killer's Loadout?

  • 8% regression is probably too much, but yes I agree - there needs to be something more to base gen regression. There's a reason why everyone runs regression perks, it's because kicking a generator is useless without any perks. I'd do all of these, just at lesser values.

    3-5% immediate regression.

Make gens regress at .75 c/sec instead of the measly .25 it is now. Ruin would be adjusted.

Survivors have to repair a generator for 3 seconds to stop it from regressing.

  • I doubt Kane Hodder will be involved in DbD (BHVR doesn't mo-cap, as far as I know, and Jason, again as far as I know, makes literally no noise so he can't provide a voice) but if the Lawsuit really is over and done with, then I think Jason has a good chance at getting in.

Though, now I wonder, how would they make his noise work in-game? I'm not familiar with the F13 lore at all, but as far as I understand Jason doesn't even grunt he's so silent. Noise is an important part of this game, for both sides. When it works, anyway.

  • They technically still are strong. Nurse still ignores most of the mechanics in the game, and a good Nurse will still always win. Billy sucks to play, but he still has insane map mobility and can instadown.

They may not be fun to play anymore, but they are still strong.

But yeah, you are right. When BHVR nerfs a killer, they most of the time make them a lot less fun. Pyramid Head was probably a huge show of this. Coming in and out of his power just feels gross now, and they didn't even address why people hate him.

I would much rather them be fun to play than strong, honestly. It's why I love Oni, Blight, and Demo. Though, Oni and Blight tick both those boxes for me.

  • Oh, cool, another thread that doesn't add anything to the conversation! I'll just throw this one with the others.

  • The idea that I've seen and liked the most is that it would show you the progress on a Gen, similar to how Wraith's All Seeing iridescent works. White is not worked on at all, the redder is the more worked on it is. It still wouldn't be great or anything, but it would actually have a use.

If another user is to be believed, we'll return to the NOED meta if that happens. Which would be pretty funny considering the counter to NOED is the same as ruin/undying.

If they nerf it into the ground, yeah. That, or we'll start seeing a ton of Pop and Corrupt. I'm hoping they won't nerf it into the ground.

  • More than likely, yes. If they keep up this trend they wanna start, Descend Beyond will receive a chapter review. Blight is pretty good as is, so I imagine all they'll do is give him that POV fix. Both Felix's and Blight's perks will get looked at. Felix's perks likely won't be touched much, Visionary is really the only bad one. The other two are just niche.

For Blight, Dragon's Grip probably won't be touched.

Hex: Blood Favour will likely be buffed.

Hex: Undying will probably be nerfed, considering how many people have complained about it.

Expect these forums to melt down if that happens.

  • I'd much rather it be something like skill-checks, similar to how PH's cages work. Mashing the space bar isn't very fun or interactive. And, if people really want to kill themselves on the hook, they can just miss a few skill checks and bam. Dead survivor.

  • Oh, yeah. I forget about WGLF most of the time.

Well there you go, my next 6 months is set :)

    Yay!

I feel every other games I’ve played have this feature. Why is this so hard??

I'm actually curious, what game have you seen with PS4 cross-progression, because I don't know of any, and I'm something of a PlayStation fanboy (mostly because of Bloodborne).

Sony is infamous for its inability to share things, especially it's data. But, if they can get Nintendo to do it, I'm sure they can get Sony to do it eventually.

  • As of right now, you have to start over. As far as I understand, they're trying to figure it out, but Sony aren't exactly the friendliest of companies. I have no idea about Microsoft though. The only cross-progression available right now is Steam x Stadia, but apparently Steam x Switch is either coming soon, or it's already in and I missed it.

I know this very well because I'm in the same boat. My ps4 broke, so I bought the game on steam. It's been a slog. Here's a tip, get bubba - solely for BBQ & Chili. It makes grinding somewhat easier.

  • Well, at least you're self-aware enough to just plain out say "You can't change my mind." Better than the other 80% of "Change my Mind" posts.

You have to remember, all of the Killers are given enhanced physical strength by the Entity. These are the same Killers who can:

-Break through entire walls in seconds

-Break sturdy wooden pallets in seconds

-Break an entire generator in seconds

-Fall from a height that would KILL you if you landed wrong and walk it off with no stagger whatsoever

And then we've got specific examples of Killers being extremely sturdy, such as:

-Trapper being only slightly inconvenienced by traps meant for literal bears

-Oni being able to punch through walls and handle a giant sword and death stick with no problem (plus just LOOK at the man and read his backstory, boi is literally a legendary warrior)

-Blight having insane strength and speed because he's high off Entity splooge

-Deathslinger being able to handle that rifle like it's a .22 LR handgun even though, according to math that I've done, it should weigh at minimum almost 50 pounds

-Demogorgon being an extradimensional apex predator

    -Pyramid Head being Pyramid Head

I'd wager that a good portion of the Killers are quite strong and physically capable of keeping their grip on a Survivor all that time. And even if they weren't, the Survivor would 100% be dazed and stunned for longer than the Killer, meaning said Killer will have time to reaffirm their shaken grip.

-Blight having insane strength and speed because he's high off Entity splooge

Well, now I'm never gonna be able to look at Blight the same way. I don't know if that makes him better or worse though...

On Topic, this game isn't meant to be realistic. If this game was realistic, Dwight would be dead the first time he got hit with a gigantic club multiple times (especially from a guy with Oni's strength) or just unable to move from any basic attack. I mean, Pyramid Head's weapon could do some serious damage, with a cut or even just with blunt force.

  • So far, no character has been confirmed as LGBT yet, but it's something the Dev's have expressed a want to be more inclusive with their characters.

  • No. Spirit is incredibly solid for a lot more reasons than her 'mindgame'. Her ability to catch up and travel the map is paralleled only by Nurse and Blight, and she's a lot easier to use. If they somehow nerfed the standing still mindgame, she would still be incredible.

  • That's a good question, actually. I suppose the question is, what would they activate on?

killers are the most OP players in the game get outttaaaaaa here lmao what a joke this post is 🤣

    Exactly that. It's a joke.

you must be super fun at parties. It's a videogame, calm down.

  • What on earth is wrong with you? Abusing a perk like that.

Next, you'll be using Camaraderie! Or even worse, Wake Up! Typical survivor main, smh.

  • As someone who plays Wraith, who sounds like a demented elephant with allergies whenever he get's stunned...

    Yes. Yes, I do.

  • Oh! My bad, I assumed you meant problematic as in "OP". That's what I've seen the term used for the most, is if somebody doesn't like a killer. Yes, then I agree - I would rather focus on the killers that are underpowered before we go nerfing them all again.

Sorry but i'm not on board with this, doc is in a great spot (apart from his purple discipline insta-shock addon) and I would rather they adress problematic killers like wraith, spirit, clown and freddy.

Hag has a slow movement speed in general and doesn't trap a Survivor and Freddy is getting looked into soon, Trap isn't the problem its the fact that he has no penalty for spamming that crap. Another simple buff would be to disable the RNG on Trapper that survivor doesn't escape immediately and is consistent that they stay there.

I am not ignoring what you said, As I implied already 10 traps spawning on hand immediately is dumb and surely won't cause killers to run Purple/Iri Stone or Bloody coil add ons what could go wrong?. I don't know why the fact that he could pick 2 afterwards changes anything lmao. You pretty much trapped most or every tile in the map what's the point of picking anything up if they reset with ad ons. There's a reason there's five traps in the map and can only be increased with add ons.

You know what, fair. I'm just of the opinion that giving trapper 2 traps at base won't be enough to buff him, but I could be wrong. Trapper also just goes my way of playing, so this buff idea is in favor of getting him into chases quicker without having to sacrifice his power.

  • @Greatamygdala said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1827142#Comment_1827142

Apparently according to the Wiki there's like 5 around the map which is pretty close to what Otzdarva said if I recall correctly. So sounds about right. Having all your traps in your hand isn't just simple buff it's a huge one.

Fair, but it's not like he couldn't use it. The other trap setters, aside from Demo, can get downs more reliably with their traps. Hag can set hers all over a huge area, and they help her with both mobility and towns. Freddy's slows survivors and places them in like a second. They're so much easier to use in the chase and can help end loops faster than Trapper's traps. I don't think letting him have all his traps at the start of the game would make him this unstoppable force.

Trapper can't do that reliably, because if a Survivor sees him start to put a trap down in chase, they will just run to another loop, and he can only do that up to three times. Hag and Freddy can do that however many times they want, and would get more benefit. I also feel like you keep ignoring that I said he would only have all traps on hand once per game, in the beginning. After, he could only pick up 2. This change would only make his initial set-up process more streamlined.

wow you got #########-talked by survivors going for adept. They shouldn't be complaining. getting an adept killer is much harder to do. and I don't see survivors showing mercy to give it to killers.

I need to get my adept killers back thanks to the next gen switch. I'm two short. It's far easier to get adept survivor then killer, if they're going to complain about that then just let it go.

One time I killed a David doin his adept. I thought the dude was just memeing. Got messaged later, got called a Sweaty Killer for killing a no-mither. And in general, yes - getting adept Killer is far harder. Good luck getting Adept on Plague, the killer that gives no points. It should really just be a 4k.

  • @Greatamygdala said:

    10 Traps on hand? Yikes.

If I recall correctly the trapper has like 5-7 traps on the map besides the one he has immediately after the game started.

The simple buff is just he spawns with 2 traps and you're done.

Does he really only have up to 8? For some reason I thought the max he could have was 10. I'll fix that. I still think the number of traps he gets shouldn't vary.

2 traps would be nice, but I still hate how Trapper has to just meander his way across maps like Mother's Dwelling or god forbid Midwich just to have more access to his power. He wouldn't have all his traps the whole time, just at the very beginning - just to quicken up the general pace of his set up. No other trap setting killer has to try that hard to set up.

Is it also over 24m? Because that sounds impossible.

And yeah, sony is really bad when it comes to treating their costumers just look at the ps5 fiasco.

Yeah both need major changes, those 2 achievements in particular, I did the 3 blink nurse with luck on steam but those 2 I'm having a lot of issues.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1827105#Comment_1827105

100 hatchets on ps4??? Whaaat that is bs, is it bugged as well like on steam?

On steam it's 20 and why am I not surprised that sony is being an ass to their players, I don't get why changing trophies is a no no.

Yep. 100 hatchets on the platform that is much harder to aim with. Fun, right?

It's the same reason why trophies don't transfer from ps4 to ps5 versions. I can't remember the exact reason, but it's pretty much that - Sony is just not that great to its customers. The only other company I can think of that's worse than them in that regard is Nintendo. Fantastic game developer, #########, ######### company.

  • Personally, I think Doc is fine. He's annoying, but I don't find him OP in the least. The only thing I would change is his shock not letting you Dead Hard for some reason. Maybe a look at his add-ons too.

As for the idea... It's neat in concept, but it would punish the Doctor for playing well. Example - If no gens were completed, and he uses Static Blast, well I guess he just gets no Static Blast. One gen completed? He has to walk across the map just to get his power, the exact reason that makes Trapper unbearable most of the time. There are only two killers that have to go and manually get their power rn - Trapper and Huntress. Huntress' hatchets can actually harm the Survivors, Doc's static blast cannot. Imo, Trapper needing to walk across the map is his biggest weakness, and we don't wanna give that to more killers.

  • @OldHunterLight said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1827090#Comment_1827090

I also have it on ps4 and now doing it on steam, I find it bullsheet since survivors just won't allow it by entering on lockers but hey you gotta give them that left behind achievement if they are doing it or they will call you stuff on steam

I've been #########-talked for killing Survivor's trying to do their adepts. As far as I understand, they refrain from changing the achievements too much because Sony won't allow them to change the Trophy's, for some reason? I guess it's for the case of consistency, though they have a few times. Example, on PS4 Skilled Huntress requires 100 hatchet hits. On Steam, I think it's only like 10. So... A rift challenge, pretty much. Those numbers might be wrong though.

  • Feels bad man. I got this achievement on a fluke once, just deciding to play Infinite Tombstone Myers, because I guess I hated myself that day. It was ridiculously hard. Now that I'm on steam, and have to get it again... I've just accepted I probably won't get it again, similar to how I probably won't ever get Left Behind - considering that was made more for before the EGC existed.

I’m with you on the STBFL worship, it’s my forum profile pic for a reason. :B One of my absolute favourite perks and I run it on tons of killers.

Using it on a "Delete Everything and Go Fast" Wraith build is one of the funnest builds in the game imo. and there are multiple incarnations. It might not guarantee a win, but both are fun.

Slightly Meta Delete Everything Wraith: Windstorm, Shadow Dance (Blood works best) Enduring, Brutal Strength, STBFL, and some kind of regression perk (most likely PGTW)

True Delete Everything Wraith, or other wise known as - ######### Looping Wraith: Shadow Dance Blood, and Shadow Dance White or The Serpent (an add-on that decloaks you while you break pallets or generators) Enduring, Brutal Strength, STBFL, and either Bamboozle, Fire Up, or Spirit Fury. This build more than likely won't get you a win, but watching Survivor's panic after you break a pallet in like less than a second is the funniest thing in this game. STBFL helps with that immensely because of Wraith's M1 nature.

  • Maybe not underrated, but there is no better feeling than getting STBFL to 8 stacks and keeping it there. It feels so good. I ######### love that perk. I've noticed Bloodhound is actually very good at tracking injured survivors. I've been using it paired with sloppy on my Hit n Run Wraith (mainly because I have nothing else on him yet) and I've never lost a survivor.

I've actually gained something of a love for Blood Pact. It's a fun perk to use, and if you have no healing perk it's pretty nice to be able to just find someone to heal you.

  • As far as I understand, it's also Twitch and Discord heavily banning people on their platforms in regard to the issue. I personally don't give a single flying #########, but BHVR has been cracking down on some people, yes.

Never forget the Pigs that put on an activated trap and tunnel, or the clowns that proxy camp by throwing bottles near hooked survivors to listen for screams... so fun!

You forgot the Hags that put 17,000 traps around a hooked survivor.

always love it when that happens.

  • If Victor's hitbox wasn't the same size as Demo's shred, I might like them more.

Or if they promoted a non-campy playstyle. Guess it's another hag then? Oh well, at least kicking that little ######### to mars is fun.

  • Distortion and Coup De Grace are two sides of the same coin. They offer powerful effects, (Though, hiding an Aura is probably more powerful than extra lunge range) but they're terrible because of their limited uses. They both need extra ways to earn tokens. For Distortion, maybe safe unhooks and completed generators. For Coup De Grace, Hooks, and completed generators.

Other fixes for the perks could just be little QoL changes - making Distortion last longer so multiple tokens aren't used up during a single aura interaction. Make it so that with CDG, not activating that extra lunge range won't consume the token, as the only way to avoid eating up a token is to basically get in the survivor's face and M1.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

As an Oni main, sometimes I find it easier to just dash instead of Demon Striking even though the survivor is fairly close. The strike after the Demon Dash has a nice autoaim that makes it harder to be spun.

If you go for a Demon Strike, try always to be as close as possible and don't forget you can release it when Oni's hands turn red.

That is something I've started doing. Demon Dash is just easier to control for me, but not that great when the Survivor insists on getting in my face. Demon Strike is so much harder to control for me.

  • @Yords said:

You don't have to fully hold the m1 to get an insta down hit, just make sure you don't go for a quick swing during this mode. For an insta down, there is kind of no way to explain it specifically, but you can hold m1 down for a second and then let go while flicking your mouse towards a survivor trying to spin you around to hit them much faster. This is when you are not dashing.

When you are dashing, you just have to get a feel for the movement of the swing.

Thanks for the advice! I'll be sure to try that out whenever I play Oni again. I know you don't have to hold it down fully, but I tend to panic whenever they start spinning and hold it longer than I need to.

  • Well, I've only played one game, as Ghostie. There definitely seemed to be more pallets, but I can't be too sure.

  • It's weird to me how they removed being able to sabo Trapper's traps because they didn't want a killers ability to just be removed by survivors for bringing a perk or item, but the same thing happens to Wraith (and to a lesser extent Hag and Nurse) with flashlights. Lightburn is one of the most debilitating stuns in the game, just because it takes so long.

  • Funny, I've seen plenty of PC players do these exact same things...

I seriously don't know why these posts are made. They don't add anything to the conversation. I play on both PC and console, and I've barely noticed a difference. Pretty much all solo queue teammates are garbage.

"Catch up to us" careful buddy, don't fall off your high horse there.

  • Really immersing yourself in nature, I see.

What survivor perks have no counter? DS+Unbreakable was solely because of killers tunneling and slugging..

Not at all. DS isn't just used to stop tunneling, everyone knows that. As an anti-tunneling tool, it's actually not that great. A killer that is actually tunneling with just eat the DS and still tunnel you down. The anti-momentum part of DS is uncounterable. There have been times where I have downed and hooked multiple people, gone back to find that person I hooked first working on a gen, so I down them. They're injured and have probably been working on that generator since the minute they got unhooked. I pick them up, still get hit with DS. How is that tunneling? That's just pushing me for doing my objective. DS enables survivors to get free progress on the game, something that killers can't stop unless they down them. Unbreakable negates that. That's my personal issue with DS. As an actual anti-tunneling tool, it sucks. Most people only use it to punish the killer for doing their objective. At least in my experience.

Unless the killer is slugging at five gens right off the bat, it's not toxic.

i'm not sure how saying "he's not treated like a normal killer" excuses horrible mechanics ?

by the time you hear his grunting he's already within sighting range which means you can't escape him with his speed...

you get no benefits from evading him because you're not in chase and as i said he can easily knock you down even if he's an average killer ....

there's nothing unique about it other than what sonzaishinai said.... it's a heat seeking hunter hatchet that you can't avoid

Never said it excuses the mechanics, that's just why they exist. If you want Victor to be treated as a normal killer, he needs to get all the benefits a normal killer does.

You do get a benefit from evading him. You can literally destroy him, that's a pretty big benefit. I agree with the hitbox, I already said that, and yes - you should get points for chasing with him. Seems like an oversight.

He's incredibly unique. He's the first power that you can: Crush, stops you from leaving, can hold lockers, acts as a little watchdog. I don't think he's fun, but the Twins' are incredibly unique.

  • If a nerf to Undying is coming, we'll see it in the next Mid-Chapter, with the Descend Beyond chapter review. At least, most likely.
