Dbd has had competition before. It’s just that most of it wasn’t that good (except Friday the 13th)
Last Year looked okay. They just made the mistake of releasing it on Discord of all things.
DbD has had some sort of growth, but not enough. It's evolved visually, and the only form of new, game-changing content is the Killers. DbD is a much different game then it used to be, but it's main gameplay formula has always stayed the same.

Why do you care about it? its just a videogame. Sounds like you're butthurt because I'm making sense and you dont like it so you have to act like you're above the conversation. Thats proven by you not understanding what im even talking about in the original post. I'm not even advocating for them to "punish people for playing with their friends" Which phrasing it like that is loading the argument about swf to be "not a big deal".
Who is biased? I think you are but only against this concept. Most likely because you play in swfs. I'm biased against swf yes. I play solo q and killer. Swf use outside coms to play this game giving them an unfair advantage over solo q and killer. What in any way is that the same as seeing what killer you are facing. Thats a built in aspect of the game. Two completely different things.
How about the survivors being able to switch last second to a key? they lock what killer you are why not lock survivor items? See how dumb that is? thats what aboutisms. Its the same as you suggesting the survivors see what killer they face.It has nothing to do with what is being said
I care about it because it's a game I've dedicated a lot of my time to. I want it to better to its audience, but in my opinion, that means more effort put into the actual game and optimization. I don't give a single ######### about balance. I'm not butthurt at all, actually. Like I already said, I am just genuinely confused.
In your original post, you say
"Show whos in swfs so im not constantly facing them."
So you want killers to be able to see who's in a survive with friends so you, and other players, can avoid them. This would punish them for using a feature that is in the game. Your original post is all about complaining about SWF and the fact that you have to play against them because a good portion of them are sweaty. And no, they aren't different. You're asking to see SWF which is a 'built in aspect' of the game. You can literally invite people from the Survivor lobby. SWF is just as built-in as Killers are.
I don't play in SWF, and the very rare times I do it's with one single friend, and we play it only to ######### around. I play Killer 65% of the time, and the other 35% is Solo queue.
I think they should lock Survivor items past a certain threshold, but that isn't at all involved in the conversation.
You're asking to be able to avoid survivor groups you don't want to play against.
I'm saying that if that happens, the inverse also has to happen- Survivors don't have to go against Killer's they don't want to. Both are terrible ideas.
Is there a portion of SWF's who break the game? Yes. Does that mean we punish everybody that uses the system? No. That's foolish.

I think you are a malicious person or a troll. Don't tell me what i should or shouldnt care about. This is not the place for that. This is a place for level headed people who actually care about the game to have conversations about it. You aren't welcome here
Ah, the classic, "You don't agree with me so you're a troll!" This is a public forum, I can comment on any discussion I want. You don't get to say where I am or am not welcome. I've been playing this game since 2018, clearly, I care about it.
I'm not trying to say you can't care about this, I just genuinely don't understand why you do. If you want to care about it, then you know, fine. I don't get it, but I'm not you.
The fact of the matter is BHVR has already shown they have no intentions of punishing people who are playing with their friends. They put the mechanic in the game a few months after it came out. They have literal voice channels in their own Discord server for SWF.
If Killer's get to see who's in an SWF so they can dodge any game that isn't the easily stompable Solo's, Survivors should see who the killer is. RIght? That's literally only fair. Unless, of course, you're extremely biased.

Thats such a dumb thing to say. Stop caring about how i spend my freetime? No I want to enjoy my time and not feel cheated. How about you stop caring about how much i care?
No, I'm genuinely curious as to why you care so much about a thing that will probably last another 5 years. It doesn't matter if it's your free time. This game isn't made for ArchAbhor only.
How is it 'cheating', by the way? It's been in the game nearly since its inception.
I just genuinely don't understand why people get so pissy over a ######### videogame.

Working as intended!
Like, I get ranks or grades or whatever don't matter anymore in the ranking, but where they are now is still indicative of where they were when it did matter. If these guys played well, I wouldn't have made this post.
But they didn't. They played like the ranks they were in before. And I don't know, not to toot my own horn or anything, but if I remember correctly I did pretty decent on my last game as Bubba before this one.
-
I genuinely don't understand why people care so much about a videogame. SWF isn't going anywhere, BHVR aren't going to punish people for playing with their friends, they've made that clear.
Just stop caring so much about it.
-
Because we don't know the contents of their contract with Netflix and it's probably very illegal for them to tell us.
The EULA basically states BHVR can do whatever the ######### they want to the game. That's just how games like this work. You don't own the game, BHVR does, and as such they can remove whatever they have/need to. It sucks, but hey.
-
If they didn't sell BHVR wouldn't make them.
People like sets, for some reason. A good portion of them probably break the sets anyways, but they sell.
-
Most people love going against Demo though. At least most I see.
Also "Pinface" is barely an anti-loop killer. Doctors anti-loop is EXTREMELY counterable. I have a good time going against most these killers, aside from Trickster and Clown.
-
This is extremely misleading.
Hope you have fun with God of War and Witcher 3 though, they're fantastic games.
-
It kind of seems like Sony has just moved in from the property. Supermassive have moved onto other properties. Other than that, it is owned by Sony which drops it's chances immensely.
A lot of people seem to want it though, so I'll be happy for those folks if it ever gets in.

@FancyMrB said:
It is infuriating and a waste of time when the last 2 survivors play hide and seek :<
I think a good solution is that Whispers activates after 10 min of nothing being done. No totems, no chests, no gens, no healing, nothing. Once the killer gets in a chase it would deactivate.
Crows another good idea tho ^^ I like it. Either way the devs should consider doing something to prevent this situation.
It reminded me of back before the EGC was introduced and the last survivor wouldn't do anything if the hatch hadn't spawned.
I think the best option would be to make the EGC after a set amount of time.
-
I find it more likely they just messed up the timing then completely removing it.
Edit: BHVR, not your friends.
-
I have survived every game I've gone against Pinhead. It's easy.
Maybe it's a you problem, dude.
-
Well, one is an interdimensional, 7-foot monster and the other is a walking corpse.
Demo would stomp hag.
-
Because they had to make someone solve the Lament Configuration and I guess the only way they figured was to make Dwight seem like a complete dumbass.

it is, they all work on a generator thats super easy to complete and the first gen is done in like 20-30 seconds, i dont like this, its not fun
That's better than them spawning on four different generators and having three be done while your chasing.

You still don't have a good idea though. Huntress is quite frequent at low ranks. She is one of the more difficult killers to play as, so if people bought her (if she was paid) not knowing the pain they'll endure in learning her, I'm sure they'd be quite infuriated.
Again- It is fully possible to wait and see what the general consensus is from console players. If you buy a product without looking into it, at all, then I'm going, to be honest, I still have a hard time feeling bad.

Steam players can do this, sure, but for anyone playing on console or Windows Store or whatever, this isn't easy to do. You can't really decide whether the killer is good for you unless you've had the chance to play him/her. I made this mistake big time with Trickster and Legion.
Since Oni, we've gotten Slinger, Blight, Twins, Trickster, and Nemesis.
The Oni's chapter is imo the best the game has ever had.
Slinger's chapter was a flop. Cool survivor, but boring killer and bad map.
Blight is amazing. Currently one of my favorite killers. The perks and survivor are great too. More than made up for the lack of a map.
Twins suck. If you don't slug, you don't win, and slugging is boring for both sides. Survivors spend time recovering, and, at least when I play killer, I hate having to slug. Less points, potential DCs, salt.
We all know Trickster went down. Released as a killer at the bottom of most tier lists, and his buff just made him annoying af to vs.
Nemesis is good, for the most part. The zombies can be either stupid broken or stupid. The perks are all decent, and we got some good survs. Map was a mistake. There are leaked variations of the map, so hopefully it'll split the entire thing in half.
The PTB isn't the only way of deciding whether or not to buy a chapter. As soon as the PTB comes out there a million videos dedicated to the subject. They can wait until the reviews come out, or wait until more updated videos.
It is fully possible for players not on steam to wait and at least look at the product before they buy it.
-
I have a hard time feeling bad for people, especially when they say "I knew BHVR would do this."
If you knew then why did you buy it immediately? Why didn't you wait?
The crashing is an issue and it's an issue BHVR should have fixed before sending him out, but everything else I have a very hard time feeling bad about

It's not the first time a "bug" appeared on a killer and later the devs said "it's working as intended".
Tell me why they would ever make this change. It was even in the known bugs.

u really belive they get the licence, make their product with it and only after it is out in the public to be tested then someone came and said: whoopsy we dont want u to use this line"
U really belive no one of the licence holders did check what they did before they brought it into the ptb?
Really?
U really think this to be a thing?
Yes. I do. The license holders could have easily said, at first, "Oh, yeah, voicelines are alright." then changed their minds.
For whatever other reason would they possibly get rid of the voicelines?
-
@General_Verdacht said:
if thats true, so how could they implement it on the ptb servers?
wasn't that a licence issue then?
It could've been BHVR didn't think it was an issue, and as soon as the license saw it they told BHVR "No."
It's probably as simple as that. Regrettable, but just as easy as that.

Yep, exactly, my friend said nearly the exact same thing when I spoke with him about it. Ya how crazy is it that people would make death threats over a video game lol?!
Welcome to the internet, where near complete anonymity makes people feel really brave when it comes to saying ######### stuff.
-
People pay. End of story.
Companies see that and realize they don't have to put effort in. Or, in some cases, the game does get delayed and people start complaining. Such is the case with Cyberpunk. Clearly, the game shouldn't have come out in the state it was, even after it was delayed. I'm sure it had very little to do with the actual release date, but some Developers were literally getting death threats over the game not coming out. Then when it did come out, it was a complete and utter shitshow.
I'm just hoping to God that Elden Ring is good.

Seeing as how you didn't answer me last time,
Genuine question, Sluzzo my Nurse main. Why do you care? It's just a video-game. Nobody really takes you seriously, and I really doubt your 50th post complaining will be the one seen by the devs. You're just making another incredibly generic "wah killers" post that won't change anything. So I'll ask again- Why do you care? Do you think you'll actually accomplish anything, or are you just doing it for attention? I am genuinely curious.
There is literally no point in caring this much about the balance of something that probably will last another collective 2-4 years.

We use Bamboozle to eliminate strong tiles that could waste our time and provide either a risky mindgame or 50/50 basic hit, knowing we have no map mobility it can be harsh to keep the pressure against good survivors.
I mean, yeah, it definitely makes sense why Bubba's use it. Doesn't make prethrowing pallets anymore fun, but it's understandable.

Which begs the question, will they finally break the cycle of relatively attractive female characters or will she "woman but she kills people" #5? I'm hopeful we'll get something different this time around.
Pretty sure the last female killer was Charlotte, who I wouldn't exactly call attractive. She's a lot more rough and rugged then the rest of the female killers. Plus, you know, the gaping hole in her chest.

information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view.
I'd say that's exactly what they are doing right now. And they're using it for their own gain.
Or, their, you know... Stating their opinion?
You're comparing silly video game ######### to a process most connected to politics and war time. Stop being overdramatic, it's ridiculous.
-
You have a very loose definition of the word propaganda, don't you?
People are allowed to have different opinions. Even content creators. If their viewers want to value their opinion, that's their prerogative.
-
It could easily be NOED or Blood Warden, but I'm guessing NOED.
As much as I hate NOED, unless you were all grouped up-- Which is a terrible idea anyway, the way you counter NOED, other than just doing totems, is leaving the second you realize a killer has NOED. You shouldn't have all gone down unless your team messed up.
Also, "absolutely destroying" a killer during the match doesn't mean you earned an escape or anything. The game isn't over until you walk out the exit gates or die.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
This is the general conclusion for many people.
However, BHVR does not want to do that. Like, a Totem Counter was asked for for years, one thing to bring Solos to SWF-Level - and it was tied to a Perk...
That's how BHVR has always done things. Rather than address things, they just want to bandaid fix things.
Have a problem with gen times? Here's a multitude of regression perks.
Being tunnelled? Here's Decisive.
Is your team being camped? Borrowed Time.
These are all things that some people view as problems in the game, yet they're only ever addressed with perks.
I don't know why I ever expected them to put an actual totem counter in.
-
You could also just ignore it.
I actually think it's kind of funny when Survivors really want my attention.
-
It depends if the killers have their canonical strengths. Out of the original, Oni for sure.
As others have said, if it included licensed it would definitely come down to Pyramid Head and Nemesis. I know more about Pyramid Head then I do Nemesis, but they both seem to be nigh invincible. Pyramid Head isn't even really a person, more just a manifestation of Guilt. From what others have said about Nemesis, he seems like the more traditional type of immortal.
-
Jokes aside, all I really want for Michael is for tier 1 to be deleted. That's the biggest buff I think he needs. Now we have a few more 'level up' killers and neither of them start at such a slow speed and I feel like both their powers are better.
Also an add-on pass and maybe removing the limit on how much Evil he can stalk? Again, nobody else has this so I don't know why Michael does.
