new survivor’s perks are very bad. Only killers write good comments about them
The survivor perks are on the same power level as the new killer perks.
-
On another note: Perks that really encourage hook patroling and tunneling are Remember Me & Dying Light.
-
You can't camp generators or you will lose the match. If you camp a gen, the survivors will simply go work on another one.
Mindbreaker only has a lasting effect of 3 seconds. If you don't get totally surprised, you will even be able to still use Sprintburst.
Babysitter won't encourage camping. If the killer camps, BT and DS are your friends. Or you do gens if an unhook is not possible.
Also similar with Camaraderie & Second Wind: If the killer patrols hooks and wants to tunnel, he will do that anyway. If the killer chases somebody else, he won't suddenly go back to the hook just because of Camaraderie or Second Wind.
-
You can easily deny the complete Surge perk if you don't go down next to generators that are being repaired.

Sadly, very bad perks for survivors. And very good and probably meta perks for killers. Probably devs want less and less survs, they’ll see
The killer perks are on the same level as the survivor perks. Nobody got a new meta perk.

I was expecting a much bigger and better change than what we are getting. The current change is something we could have came up with in about 5 minutes.
It's a simple change that was suggested by a lot of people. I think it's a good change.

So Urban but for standing?
Similar. With Urban, you crouch at 56.5% speed instead of 28.25%. With Fixated, you walk at 67.8% instead of 56.5%.
Take high obstacles like big rocks. If the killer thinks a survivor might hide behind it, the killers runs around the rock once to check. With Fixated, the killer won't see the survivor with one round around the rock if the surv suddenly walks at almost 70%.
This will work with a lot of obstacles. The killer either has to spend more time double-checking or won't find the survivor.
-
In-game, the most toxic thing would be survivor & killer working together. Once I even had a killer and the other 3 survivors working together, farming me to dead in the beginning of the match and then they continued to farm together. (Of course, the killer let the survivors live.) That was when players on console didn't get banned. Survivors & killers working together did occur more often back then.
-
Don't underestimate the potential of Fixated. Being able to walk at about 70% speed will be a great help when you don't want to get found.
Inner Strength and Second Wind are okay, but they won't replace any meta perks.
Better Together, Camaraderie & Babysitter indeed don't seem to be useful.

Please read this because people are not reading the question correctly or carefully.
The scenario OP is asking about is:
Person on hook. 1 person comes in for the save and the timer stops for 14 seconds. Then a SECOND survivor comes in for the save. Does that add an ADDITIONAL 14 seconds or does it only activate the one time for the first person.
Also to the person say 4x14seconds.... you can't count the person on the hook because they're on hook.... there's a max of 3 people coming for a save. As a math teacher, I am severely disappointed in your lack of math-ing correctly
Sorry to tell you, but you are the one who misunderstood. The person on the hook is the one who has to run the perk. Once per 2nd hook phase, the timer can be paused for 14 seconds.
So the maximum the killer has to deal with per match is 4 survivors running the perk and in each of their 2nd hook phase the timer is paused once for 14 seconds. So in total 4 x 14 seconds more hook phase time is the maximum a killer can have to deal with.

I think some of the confusion is people not knowing how many times within that one struggle phase, the pause gets activated. It’s just once, right? For example if I’m on the hook in struggle, and a survivor comes within 16m, the timer pauses for 14 sec. After that if a different survivor comes in the radius, it does not pause AGAIN, correct? It’s just a one time use extra 14 seconds and that’s the end of it?
Yes, it's once per struggle phase.

I think you mean 3 x 14 = 42 sec for just step in the 16 meters
No, it doesn't work that way. The person who is hooked has to run the perk. And for that person, it only works once. So 4 survivors running that perk x 14 seconds.
-
Once for each survivor. So worst case, you are dealing with 4 x 14 additional seconds. But don't worry, the 14 additional seconds are better than the survivor coming for the rescue working on a generator instead.

There you go. Even more useless. Bond can show you that at 36 meters.
Yup. The second effect of Better Together still makes the perk not worth running. Bond is still the better choice.
-
Mindbreaker is Demo-chan's weakest perk.
Of all the 9 perks, I see the biggest potential for Fixated.
-

But all it shows is when someone is on a gen. Bond and empathy show people doing anything. If I want to find people on a gen Bond can do that. I don't want to know if someone is on a gen across the map. I'm not going to go all the way over there just to work on a gen with someone.
You will not see people working on a gen across the map. Only within 32 meters.

I wonder how it interacts with Iron Maiden...
Once you exit the locker, the usual effect of Iron Maiden takes place.

Fixated looks really, really interesting. It's my favourite by far. It's not only for new players with the current status of scratchmarks being so buggy. Also being able to walk at about 70% speed will be great for stealth.
Second Wind & Inner Strength are decent but won't replace any meta perks. The other perks are not good.
-
Some of them are fun perks. Surge can be decent against teams that aren't that well-coordinated. Fixated looks really, really interesting.
Edit: Concerning your question, I don't expect Fixated to work with crouching, since it is not mentioned in the perk description.
-
@DoomOrb I didn't say that Wraith didn't "suck". All the killers except for the Top 4 do when you are facing good teams. However, he is better than the majority of the other M1 killers. Increased mobility is an important part of what makes a killer decent.
-
If your teammates are too bad to pick you up, run Unbreakable. Or play SWF. Or jump into a locker.
DS is still a super powerful perk.
-
You can mori the first survivor and then pay attention that you get enough chases with the other 3 survs, so you still get the double pip.
Also you will most likely not pip if a survivor dc's or kills themselve on the hook. Trying to double pip can be quite frustrating, especially if it's taken out of your hand.
-
@White_Owl Yup, that comes close to what I wrote above. A lot of players who play exclusively survivor have the same reason.
-
I mean, we don't know the code and have no idea whether 6 months would be enough to fix the architecture. Let's assume it is. 6 months working on fixing the code, then more time to work on a new chapter - I'm afraid a lot of players would leave DbD if they don't get content for such a long amount of time.
Edit: On another note, I absolutely see the need for an operation health. Bugs aside, the game's performance is basically getting worse with every patch.
It's not an easy decision.
-
I wouldn't worry that much about new players being scared away by camping. I believe the rudeness of some players (heavy insults after the game etc.) and frustrating experiences in the game because the matchmaking matched new players with veterans are a bigger danger when it comes to losing new players after they played a couple of matches.
On a positive note, I'm glad that the grind will be lessened as it was a big obstacle to new players.
-
"it is impossible to not hook all 4 survivors at least once" What? There are a lot of stealth players out there.
Also BBQ is not that great aura reading perk anymore that it used to be. The majority of survivors are hiding their aura nowadays. On some killers I'm already using other tracking perks and pass on the bonus bp that BBQ would provide.
I think WGLF is fine how it currently is. It doesn't have to give the player 4 guaranteed stacks every game.
However, killer queue times are too long currently. So maybe survivors need to get more bloodpoints in general as a motivation. The big issue for me is that the bp categories are capped at 8k. I mean, it happens super often that you would have earned 5-10k more bp if it weren't for the cap.
-
Wraith belongs in the middle. His increased speed while being cloaked gives him some map control and makes him better than other M1 killers like Doc, Trapper or Pig. Also (like Pig) he has a built-in Borrowed Time counter.
-
Without offerings, there are 3 chests on the map. That means your perk can be activated 3 times at max. When the other survivors notice that the killer runs that perk, they won't search any more chests. Haunted Ground and MYK are much better.
Regarding the skill check perk: I don't think anybody would run it as almost every killer uses Ruin in the high and mid ranks.
-
@RakimSockem Some killers want the 4k because they care about pips or they want to max out their bloodpoints. Queue times are quite long currently, so it's not as if the killer can instantly move on to the next match.
I also find it boring when I'm getting slugged but I understand the killer's perspective as well.
-
BBQ is easily countered, even new players can do that. It's not a strong perk gameplay-wise anymore, often only good for the bloodpoints.
-
Maybe at a later point. Ghostface didn't get all his skins with release, either.
-
@Hexyl I wrote in my post that gens used to be 70 seconds a long time ago and you reply that gens used to be 70 seconds a long time ago. Great, that is obviously something we agree on.
-
@DudeDelicious Yup, it's normal that DbD is constantly changing and that game mechanics are being adjusted. But I would like to know what the devs' opinion on this topic is - do they believe that the time that survivors need to get their objective done is balanced or do they see the need for a change?
-
@MonsterInMyMind said:
Making gen times longer solves nothing it promotes camping + the last time they tried this they made exit gate timers 16 seconds which was seriously a issue it's not as simple as increasing gen times bud they have tried it didnt work.
If a 2nd objective was implemented/gen time was increased, the hook phase time would simply need to get increased as well, to make camping stay a bad tactical choice.
Edit: Also AFAIK the devs never tried increasing gen time (to be more than 80 seconds). I don't know why you are making that claim. Gens used to be 70 seconds a long, long time ago.
-

What 2nd objective would they even add?
There are a lot of suggestions here on the forums as well. For example, I made this suggestion a couple of months ago: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/65083/concept-for-a-2nd-objective-for-survivors/p1
-
This is a topic often discussed here on the forums. Bottom line: Some people think the game is fine how it currently is, others don't. Of those who want the killer to have more time, the majority doesn't want increased gen time but a 2nd objective. (Because repairing gens is boring.)
-
This thread reminds me of this article somebody linked here on the forums some time ago, where the author stated that Spirit could land hits easier than other killers because of her katana having a very good reach. Seriously, it's a good thing that killers don't have individual hit ranges.
(No idea if some of you remember, it was an insane article claiming that reworked Legion was 2nd best and Leatherface 4th best killer in the game.)
-
Camping Insidious Leatherface is a meme, no serious playstyle. Besides that, if the killer camps when you are hooked, wave your arms to signal your non-SWF-teammates that the killer camps.
Camping early in the match is not a good tactical choice. If the survs focus on gens, they will win. Camping is only a thing because survivors keep feeding the killer. Also playing like Insidious Leatherface doesn't give a lot of bloodpoints and will make the killer de-pip.
-
A nice example of how the ranking system isn't working. Green and purple ranks, omg. But I'm not surprised, I even see red rank survs just running in straight lines with no attempts at looping/using jungle gyms.
-
@Sairek Once when I was playing solo, I was stalked by a Myers 1-2 minutes after the match started. We hadn't finished any gens yet. He reached tier 3. Turned out he was using perma tier 3 with Tombstone. I can't imagine how my teammates managed to feed him that fast.
-
You are basically saying that players should be allowed to dc whenever they feel like it. O_O
The current dc mentality is awful and ruining so many matches. I can't believe that anybody would like to keep this amount of dc's in the game.
-
That's amazing! I hope this DLC will bring us lots of new players!
-
Totems are done too fast and repairing gens is not exciting. A 2nd objective would help so much.
I would really like to know whether the devs are thinking about making survivor gameplay more interesting.
-
This game is in the survivors' favour. If you are having a hard time, practice more (watch tutorials) and play SWF. If you then bring strong perks and items, you shouldn't have any problems.

What is the difference in the field of view of Shadowborn vs M&A? I usually use M&A on Plague.
M&A increases it by 10%, Shadowborn by 15%. Also, M&A increases it only when you are not in a chase.

Sadly, it wouldn't work on most maps. It would be only interesting for Léry's, The Game and the new one.
