"Bamboozle is good too, but it's a crutch perk, try not to depend on it." Wut? I've seen some people claiming NOED was a crutch perk, but that's a new one.
-
No reason to nerf Freddy at all. He is far away from Nurse, Billy & Spirit and doesn't stand a chance against very good groups. He is nice against mediocre survivors, though.
-
The thing is, you can't balance a game around survivors hiding in a corner instead of doing gens or survivors making severe mistakes. If you want to balance a game, you must assume that the players are very good.
-
@Bbbrian2013 That's right! While we're at it, stop using perks at all. Good killers don't need perks! ... crutch users everywhere...smh
-
@Bbbrian2013 Shadowborn is a good perk on every killer. Take Insidious next time. :P
-
I like it.
Also, to remove Omega-Blink-Nurse, the devs could make the add-ons non-stackable without having to nerf the add-ons themselves.
-
No, the hatch doesn't open randomly. They must have found a key in a chest.
Edit: If they find the key and use it, the key is not shown in the endscreen.
-
Rancor does not help slowing down the gens. It's a tracking perk that shows the survivors' locations after a gen has been finished.
Thrilling Tremors does not help slowing down gens, either. It's a tracking perk that shows you where a survivor is working on a gen. It's comparable to BBQ. Also unlike BBQ, this perk has a 60-seconds-cooldown.
And corrupt intervention is not useful. You can simply work on those gens which aren't blocked.

No it doesn't.
Streamers don't know ######### about this game, they are an elite .00001% that don't really understand the game the way the majority of the people play it, they only understand their own tiny niche in it.
Stop listening to YouTubers like Gods they don't deserve your worship.
There are definitly more than 0.00001% of the playerbase playing at red ranks. Also those who are playing against streamers are usually non-streamers. Streamers really aren't that rare elite, they show your typical gameplay at high ranks.

That does tend to happen when you don't down someone for the first 1:40 of a game. There's nothing to fix there. The survivors have nothing to do but generators. They're healthy, nobody needs a rescue. The fix to that would literally be preventing survivors from doing their objective if the killer is having a bad game, and I would very strongly disagree with that.
On a lot of maps it's realistic that the survivor can run a safe route for more than 60 or 90 seconds if they are facing a loopable killer. (Safe route meaning that the killer doesn't have a chance hitting the survivor because the loops are not mindgame-able.)

5 minute game for 4 Kills. Shows how broken Nurse is.
He would have lost if he didn't have the pink mori.
-
I've seen a lot of people posting things like this in the last couple of days. High-rank killers getting matched with low-/mid-rank survivors and vice versa.
I really, really hope the devs fix this soon. If this problem still exists when the Stranger Things DLC drops, new players will get scared off immediately.

Are you seriously saying killers have the RIGHT to lobby dodge?
Whatever. If you suck, you suck. Keep dodging and see how much better you'll get.
Killers are supposed to play against survivors, not against items. If you need insta-heals and toolboxes to win a match, then you are playing at the wrong rank. Insta-heals are unbalanced, too many toolboxes are unbalanced. I'm a survivor main, but that doesn't mean that I'm not aware of the current state of the game.
-
@Catbucket said:
Be patient theyve stated a few times that thats coming with dedicated servers.
IIRC the devs haven't stated that punishments will come with dedicated servers. They said that they need dedicated servers to be able to implement punishments.
This could mean that dedicated servers will come next month as planned, but punishments could come at a later time.

@Mochan said:
No need to make the powers base kit.
Just hide the item from the killer so they don't dodge or bring out their pink moris whenever they see a game with four people using items. Actually just don't show the survivors, period. Show a dark silhouette at the campfire.
The geniuses at BHVR apparently thought that being able to see your enemies before a game starts wasn't a problem -- but the crazy amount of killer dodging in the lobby is proof that it is.
Killers dodge lobbies because too many toolboxes or insta-heals are unbalanced. Or because Flashlights hurt certain killers badly.
If killers couldn't see items, this would only result in survivors bringing more toolboxes and more insta-heals because they would not have to worry about getting dodged for their items. And this would result in less people playing killer because they don't want to deal with this stuff every match. And this would result in longer queue times for survivors.
So why go down this path of a bad idea if you could instead adjust items and make the game more balanced?
Why is the initial reaction of so many players "punish the killer"/"disable lobby dodging"/"don't show items" when you simply could make the game more balanced and give both sides the chance to play a fair match?

I couldn't stop laughing after I realised the guy who said that in the chat is the one with Windows of Opportunity ROFL, I mean if you are so "pro" why would you use that perk? xD
Hey, WoO is a very good perk! It's great to plan your routes ahead (=which looping spots to combine) and it shows you which pallets your teammates already used.

*Looks at Hook buffs, Hag buffs, Trapper buffs, Wraith buffs, Noed buffs, Ruin buffs, Pallet nerfs, Loop nerfs, faster hook time, improved lunge speed, pick up animation buff, spirit buff, reduced killer footstep, totem placement buffs* Ok.
That is a list of urgently needed adjustments and nothing that brings killers on an even level with survivors. That you even mention Trapper, Wraith, totem spots as if they were in a good spot now feels unreal.
And whether the changes to NOED are a buff or a nerf is debatable.
-
You know that if you dc as a killer, the survivors keep their points and get the additional 5k for surviving?
Survivors who dc are hurting their teammates much more imho.
-
What is wrong with complaining about unbalanced game mechanics? Obviously the devs considered the old vaulting, the old exhaustion mechanic etc. unbalanced too, otherwise these would not have been nerfed.
And Borrowed Time did not get nerfed, it's currently the strongest it has ever been.
Also, survivors are able to do their objective too fast. Killers ARE at a disadvantage, that's not an empty complaint.
Not everybody who is asking for a fair game and killer buffs/survivor nerfs is a killer main.
-
You did everything right in this situation. You are the killer, your job is to kill as many survivors as possible, you are allowed to camp.
Btw: If players insult you or tell you to #########, you should definitely report them. Either these players learn to behave or they will get banned.

When I play as killer (I'm at low levels) I never kill anyone. When I play as survivor and the killer can't kill anyone, I allow him to kill me at the end. Every killer deserves a kill, and at least 1 survivor deserves to escape. I play to have fun, not to 4k or escape
That's nice!
I try to gift killers a kill when they played well and just didn't get any kills because they rotated too much and didn't focus anyone.
-
@Aven_Fallen "Highly coordinated 4 man SWFs are not the majority" - what is the majority has nothing to do with balance.
Take a well-coordinated 4 man SWF equipped with several DS, BT, DH, Adre, Unbreakable, insta-heals. Nurse won't win, no matter how skilled the Nurse player is.
Of course, these kind of SWF are definitely not the majority, but this is not relevant for the question whether a match is balanced. Perks & items are only supposed to increase the chances of winning for the player using them, not make it impossible for the other side to win.
And we are talking here about Nurse, who is soo much more powerful than all the other killers. This illustrates at what a big disadvantage the other killers are finding themselves.
-
@DudeDelicious Matches with good killers vs. good survivors aren't balanced. (I hesitate to say "matches in high rank" because high rank doesn't necessarily mean that the players are good.)

If the Killer is at a certain Skill Level, the Survivors cant win, no matter how much higher their Skill Level is (cough Nurse cough ). Not saying that Nurse does not need Skill, but if someone is good with Nurse, he basically cannot lose, especially when using Add-Ons.
No, it doesn't work both ways. Nurse is not almighty. Play stealthy, rush gens, bring the infamous 2nd-chance-perks and insta-heals, don't make bad tactical decisions, then even a Nurse won't get 3 kills, no matter what she does.
Nurse is a whole other world than all the other killers, no question, but survivors are still the stronger role.
-
Some people just don't have a good character and use the anonymity to treat others badly to make themselves feel superior. They use the internet because they can't do it IRL. Report & ignore is really the best you can do.
-
@Fibijean You wrote "the thing a lot of people don't seem to take into account is that it's about as balanced as an asymmetrical game can be". If you now say there is room for improvement, then I agree.
-
@Fibijean Of course an asymmetrical game could be balanced. That killers and survivors have different mechanics doesn't mean that the game can't be balanced.
Years and months ago, DbD used to be more unbalanced than it currently is. The devs worked on balance and improved the situation, but the game is still unbalanced and needs being worked on.
-
This game would be balanced if a killer could always win if he is more skilled than the survivors. But that isn't the case currently. If the survivors play at a certain skill level, the killer can't win, no matter how much higher his skill level is.
-
If you have a team of players who are decent at looping, don't cleanse.
If you tend to go down fast, but you are decent at being stealthy and your teammates cleanse, then cleanse.

It absolutely can be, again I suggest looking up "confirmation bias"
There is a difference between what is theoretically possible and what is a reasonable assumption from a statistical point of view.
If you role a dice 600 times and get a "6" 500 times, there is a remaining chance that you simply had luck. But from a rational point of view, it's reasonable to assume that this dice gives you increased chances to get a "6".
-
You mean when the killer hits the air while carrying a surv? It's not bannable. It looks funny and it's just how the perk works.
-
What @NuclearBurrito said: That's not another system, that's just lowering the amount of points needed to get a certain Emblem.
-
I hope the Stranger Things fans buy the game and keep playing it. There are a few things that scare new players off and I'd hate to see DbD missing out on this amazing opportunity to significantly grow the playerbase.
-
I find the current key mechanic unfair, but I still use keys if I find them in chests.
-
Unlike other weak killers, Trapper indeed could be fast & easily buffed. No idea why the devs aren't fixing him since it would only take such a small amount of resources.
-
If a game is balanced for those who play occasionally and not for those who play it regularly, it doesn't encourage players to get better or climb the ranks.
When players don't want to climb ranks, it's a clear sign that something is fundamentally wrong with the balancing.
-
@DudeDelicious The most common wrong assumption is probably "the killer always knew where we were so they must be hacking".
-

Everybody is saying Haddonfield, we get it.
But IRON WORKS ######### BLOWS. Why does nobody talk about this one?
Other maps have also looping spots with one badly designed window. There are a dozen maps that are worse than Ironworks.
-
If WoO would also include lockers, it would be too much yellow to be useful.
I have nothing against a separate perk that only shows locker auras but I can't imagine that a lot of people would run it.
-
If something seems fishy to you, always check the killer's perks and add-ons first before coming to the conclusion that the killer hacked.
On PS4, you'll basically never encounter hackers (only lag-switchers).

RNG. What you are experiencing right now is refered to as "confirmation bias"
I've been playing this game since June 2017, nearly everyday, thousands of hours. RNG is not that consequent.
-
But you played Leatherface, the 4th-strongest killer in the game!
jk
-
I also get way more killer than survivor rituals. It has always been this way for me, so I highly doubt that odds are 50/50. Feels like 25/75.
-
You are playing together with survivors and killers who start to learn how the game works. New survivors are super careful and too scared to do gens and killers camp the survivor once they downed them. You should be fine in green ranks.
-
You played strategically and tried to kill as many survivors as possible. That's your job as killer. Your job is not to allow a survivor to heal their teammates and gift them free escapes.
-
@HatCreature Correct, there wouldn't be any unhooking anymore and everything that's related to it. No small changes.
Bloodpoints and Emblem points aside, you would also have to work on the balancing, because with respawning, survivors wouldn't need time anymore to go for unhooks.
It would change the game significantly and as I wrote above, I have no idea whether the majority of players would like to have such big changes.

I've always ran STBFL along with Ruin, BBQ, and PGTW on my main Freddy. Any other perk suggestion that can replace STBFL?
If you are playing on a rank where you face good loopers, I suggest to take Bamboozle.
