  • Put Self Care on a totem and see how fast Ruin would get knocked down. Pffft. It'd be active the whole match.

  • They just mixed up the days. Some people think midnight is the end of the day and not the beginning. One reason I hate when people use it as a time for an Event. Just translate it into your timezone and go from there. So 8pm on July 5th EST is when it starts. That should be 0000 on the 6th (I think that's right). Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that time please.

  • Hex: Brutal Metal - When a Survivor is hooked for the first time, Iron Man is played for 7/10/15 seconds. When a Survivor is hooked for the second time, The Number of the Beast is played for 7/10/15 seconds. When a Survivor is hooked for the third, and final, time Ronny James Dio screams and Holy Diver plays until the Survivor disappears into the Entity's grasp. This does not work when progressing hook stages. They must be fresh hooks each time. Music is heard mapwide.

This should work to alleviate some Camping since Killers will want to hear all the lovely music.

  • I don't think they should be on unhooks, as that's a fast process to start with. Trying to stick a skillcheck in there would make it a bit crazy.

Hex totems, exit gates, there should be more on healing checks since most of the time I don't even get one, dull totems. A few things skillchecks would not be out of place. Maybe even put one on chests with a microscopic Great zone for an increase in rarity.

I realize that tinkerer is one of those perks that's either useless or amazing depending on the killer. That said, this rework is awful, and there is no real reason to even consider using tinkerer on any non-mobile killer. 8 seconds reduced terror radius when they're about to pop a gen? Uhhh.. ok, I guess. The notification is nice and all, but I can only see nurse/billy even thinking about using this version. Every other killer probably won't have any use for it.

It should be really powerful for 3 gen lockdown builds.

Not really. When it's a 3-gen situation the TR means absolutely nothing, and you're not going to get enough regression to mean anything if the Survivors play it smart. The only people it's going to affect are new players and morons on the Survivor side of things. I can see this being potentially useful on a number of Killers, but unless they have mobility it's going to take luck with where the generator is at to interrupt it.

  • At random times during a match, anywhere from 30 seconds in and at random intervals, the Entity reaches down and pimp slaps one of the Survivors, causing them 1 health state of damage. If they are already Dying at this point, the Entity just takes their body back with it to its home.

  • It's not dropping til the 9th for NA region. EU gets it on the 6th iirc.

  • First thing to be thankful for from the PS4. :chuffed:

  • Just go for the Kobe! ALL Killers respect the 4%. Lulz

  • I hope they discontinue support for the PS4. It'd be better than 20 threads whining about the same thing. I have tried to see it from both sides, but all I can see now is "I'm entitled to everything because I am entitled to everything."

Used to see this same garbage with people whining about console exclusives and all that. So you got it late. They are adding another BP Event, so you can level up then. FFS people, just start your Clown or Kate out at level 1 and do it normally. I NEVER save BP for Prestige. I much prefer to start them at level 1 and actually learn the character's powers instead of immediately leaning on all the crutch Perks I have. Maybe if more people would do this, they might actually learn how to play instead of relying on a stale crutched up meta on both sides.

  • Which one uncaps the Shards? Update I'm assuming?

  • Visual glitch much the same as if you get a Killer DC and you don't lose a pip, but it does show you losing one. I frequently get the glitch that shows me as 1 Rank above what I actually am on the end scoreboard. I'll be Rank 9, but it shows me as Rank 8.

I think it has to do with the emblem system or something because this is extremely frequent now. I'd almost want to say the final scoreboard thinks that I got enough BP to pip, but in actuality I got a safety from the emblems. Least that's what it looks like to me. Same with the depip. It'll look like I depipped, and drop me a Rank, but I scored enough emblems to safety or pip up. Just didn't get a whole lot of BP that round.

They should hire someone to manage the community. Maybe communicate and try to be empathetic to the people.

Isnt there a community Manager or something like that?

Yes, but they've already shown a lack of communication in the various Forums. When it was just Steam, trying to get answers to legitimate questions was difficult. Now they just ignore that Forum. I don't think they've posted updated News or anything there in a month or more. They laid out a plan for more transparency in patches and updates, but while we are seeing more for stuff like PTBs, they are already starting to ignore the things that are important to the Community.

Well that is the weekend I am getting married. Missing that double blood point event...

You're fiancee should understand the importance of this and delay the wedding. Double BP events are so rare...

Really doubt it. They are so easy to come by, that I can't see doubling what you get. Maybe if we went with the older style where you got them strictly for playtime rather than level, I could see it happening. You get so many though, I don't see them needing to be doubled.

I was thinking more when thay add in lots of cosmetics because they aren't cheap so maybe some events then to lighten the load

The 2x Bloodpoint Event will generate a ton of Shards for most people. If you're grinding up some, and just playing a lot in general, you'll be raking in the Shards as you level up. Also consider they probably aren't going to be adding a ton of cosmetics each patch, so if you are patient enough you can just keep saving up and eventually get them all. This one was just a large amount because of the newness of it all. I see more paid ones coming, but much less Shard'able ones.

  • PS4 won't miss the 2x BP Event. You just won't get it and it will be redone the following weekend (Or the weekend after the patch and DLC gets released). That's already been stated. I'm wondering if they said that to remove some of the salt when the patch doesn't get released this week. Just prepping the community for when it goes down like that.

I wouldn't put much hope in getting it this week, more likely Monday or Tuesday. It's a shame such a fantastic game has such poor Customer Relations. Although I am wondering now if they included the latest update that eliminated some of the speedhacking and had to resubmit because of that? Might be a reason for delay.

Dead by Daylight currently updating now. 2x BP Event starting?

Still the 4th, it was a fix for speedhacking exploit

    Finally. :chuffed:

Well at least one thing is marked off on the list. Joy!

  • When a third-party application can completely negate Perks, unique Killer Powers, and provide multiple free Perks to a group of Survivors, yes it needs to go away.

But that's not the topic at hand, Insidious is, and I would like to see what others use it to do since I've never used it myself. Might try it out if there's enough things to do with it as I won't camp hooks.

  • Dead by Daylight currently updating now. 2x BP Event starting?

  • Nurse with Insidious. Took everyone by surprise and ended with a 3k + hatch. Was absolutely unexpected to have them camp the 2nd hooked person. Normally a Nurse "Camp" means instantly back to the hook with Blink(s). This time though... that Insidious. Lot of lulz in post-game though.

Only other time Insidious really got me was again a Nurse, but this time she was camped behind the exit gate. When it was powered it turned into a #########? moment.

I've had a few matches where people Insidious'd well, but you can always see them if you scout a bit. A few games where they camped an item knocked out with Franklin's, a few where multiple gens were together in view of a common center, and once I had an Insidious Doctor who was BP farming and just enjoying jumping out of corners and odd places where he had been hiding. Some interesting attempts with it, but if you're paying attention you can usually figure it out before something happens.

  • There is only one Laurie Strode. Jamie Lee Curtis can NEVER be replaced.

  • Redhead's Pinky Finger should not be included in his base kit. That's horribly overpowering. His bottles would just be used as Iridescent Hatchets instead of how they're supposed to be used, as blocking and slowdown effects. He does not need a one-hit down to be effective.

I've played a few matches against Clowns now, and the ones that I die to will use his powers to force me into the gas for the hit, and then do it again. The ones that throw them like a hatchet I always survive against. It isn't Nurse tier by any means, but there is a certain skill level playing the Clown and knowing where to throw, and when. You just need to adjust, and once you can then he is a pretty effective Killer.

  • That's because whatever timezone you are located in is the only timezone that matters. The rest are just people being silly. Sheesh. You would think people could understand that by now...

  • They might extend it on the PS4 though if you guys don't get it from the start. They've already stated they would do a separate event just for PS4 if you guys aren't updated by then, so I don't see it being an issue to do this.

  • The reason why the Entity loves the hatch interrupt most is because the hatch offers Survivors hope for life. When that hope is shattered, the Entity loves it even more.

If you don't have a hatch in the game, then you're going to be stuck with 20-30 minutes of tracking through the map looking for the ultimate ninja. Personally, I just give the hatch to the last person so I can get on with my next match. Sometimes I'll hang them, depends on if I know where it's at and if they struggle too much so I won't get there. If you want to waste 20 minutes tracking down one last Survivor then more power to you. By that point I've already completed at least 1, if not 2 other matchs and gotten another 50-100k BP + possible pips.

On the Survivor side, if we've gotten wrecked so I'm the last man standing with only 1 gen complete, yeah I make some noise and let the Killer take me to the hook. I don't want to waste time trying to stealth a gen. I've actually had a Killer or two let me complete a gen then they gave me the hatch. Rarest of the rare, but it has happened. Normally they just take the hook and then it's gg, and I usually get a Thank You in some form from them for not putting them through that kind of hell. That sort of politeness is much appreciated.

The hatch is unbalanced to an extent, but you need that last ditch escape route otherwise you're going to have games that last hours as someone tries to repair gens because neither one of you will back down. I do like the idea of closing it, but I think a generator pop is a bit much to reopen it. Would be nice to spawn a key or something so the Survivor can either pop a gen, or find the key and possibly swap out with the item they currently have. Would lose the key as well of course when you utilize it, but if that's their only option, it's probably for the best.

On the point of "Your team has failed" though, it's not a team. It's 4 separate Survivors trying to escape. I really don't care much if the other 3 die. I try my best to keep them alive, and I'll die on a hook so someone else can get out. That's just how I play though. Solo queue is tough at higher ranks because SWF is so common. Having that hatch, in the event they get stupid and die in a hot mess to a camping Leatherface, makes it so I can complete my objective and live. They aren't my teammates, but I'll help them as much a possible because it makes it easier for me to win as well.

  • Pre-nerf BT was vile. One of the few Perks I actively hated. It made hook rushing so much more common. Everyone involved gets a free escape. Lol.

It feels balanced now. It's helped me on the Survivor side, especially getting out of the Basement, and I don't find it too oppressive on the Killer side. You just have to always consider it in how you treat your hooks. Camp or don't Camp, Patrol or not, you need to be aware that it's possible it could proc if you come back to the Hook.

  • I'm betting on Monday. I'm a horrible gambler though, so consider that in your equation.

  • It's only a holiday in the US. Since they are based in Canada, I'd assume tomorrow is a work day for them. Sony is a multinational corporation, I'm sure they have people in the office somewhere to roll out things if any action is required on their part.

  • Probably avoiding the inevitable onslaught of "PS4 when?" questions. It has happened in the past.

  • Absolutely love playing as him. Just put him in my list of favorite Killers that will be getting the P3 treatment. Hag, Myers, Huntress, and Doctor in that order on my list. He might not be the most powerful, but he has great potential to cut down on looping with proper aim. His Perks are build dependent, but they do help a good bit in certain circumstances.

Not the best, definitely not the worst, I give him a solid B to B+. Well above average, but not into the Nurse/Billy tier.

  • It'll be ready Thursday or Friday. Should make it in time for the 2x BP Event. Although they did say if it did not make it in time, they would give it to PS users next weekend, so perhaps prepping for the inevitable letdown?

  • Confirmation for the Patch. From the way that statement read, they still need the DLC approved. Not sure how Sony's approval process works though.

  • Hate the player. Sandbag the hell out of anyone who does this, or suicide right before they get to you. Make sure they get downed and camped. Do not let these PoS Survivors live any longer than they need to to be given to the Entity's grace.

Just as Survivors should not expect a free escape, Killers shouldn't expect a free sacrifice. If you're going to camp someone at the end of the match, and I definitely think this is a good tactic to use, then you should do it smart.

Don't hook them in front of the gate like an idiot. Hook them as far from the gate as possible.
Get used to your TR and stay that distance from the hook so BT can't proc.
Get better with your chase so you can avoid the bodyblockers at that point. Path a way to the gate that uses LoS blockers or something to give you a chance to get another hook/sacrifice.
Run NOED. Survivors see that Exposed warning and the totem draws them like flies. They want that totem almost as much as they want that Survivor you hooked. I've seen a Killer camp the NOED totem post-match and get a 4k because Survivors HAD to take it down before rescuing even though it was on the opposite side of the map from the hook.

If you expect a free sacrifice when the gates are powered, think again. Blood Warden exists to draw out that endgame, as do a few other Perks. There are reasons Perks like BT and Noone Left Behind are in the game. I would be interested to see if anyone actually runs an endgame build for Survivor. Killers obviously do, which can be pretty effective, but I've actually not seen someone as a Survivor build to the endgame.

Killers don't expect free sacrifices. They know they have to work for it (find, chase, and outsmart Survivors), because that's how the game is.

Not always. The majority do, but there are quite a few salty Killers who expect a 4k and when they don't get it, they rage about it. Played against a number of them and have been insulted as bad as SWF Death Squads do because I was running Lithe the one time. Lithe... of all things. Apparently it's a crutch Perk.

I lean towards the Killer side of things though because I enjoy playing them more. I just don't see a problem with any Perk tbh. It exists, use it. I might hate it so much I want to wipe it from the face of the Earth, but it's what I have to deal with so no sense complaining about it.

The reverse is true of course. Survivors tend to be saltier in post-game than Killers, from my own experience playing both sides of the game. 4 vs 1 + the addition of SWF gives people ego problems and Internet Muscles. Borrowed Time exists, figure out a counter to it. Same with NOED. It exists, and it's a LOT easier to counter than most Survivor Perks. Just break the totem.

  • But how does the Emblem bank the points? Doesn't it only bank your points if you actually manage to evade the Killer? So if you run around a bunch, but stay in the Killer's LoS, he scores a hit, and you lose all the points you've gained? If that's the case, you'd be better off running around a bit, evade, then initiate again once you've broken LoS for 5 seconds for the scoring event.

  • Scream was one of the worst slasher movies made back in the day. I still do not understand the love for it. Same thing with I Know What You Did Last Summer and the other trash in that timeframe. The plotlines were too predictable and foolish.

We don't need more movie Killers. We need more original ones. Do you really want your favorite iconic horror movie Killer to get the Freddy Treatment?

    Imagine the possibilities:
    30k base BPs + 30k double bp weekend + 30k WGLF/BBQ + 5x bloody party streamers = 240k BPs from a single match!

So i would recommend everyone, when there are several bloody party streamers active. Show a heart to your fellow survivors and killers and keep the match alive for as long as possible. Everyone is a winner!

Btw. I don´t think Farming is bannable. (but this might need an official confirmation)

Only if it's reported I think. Otherwise it's more of a wink and nudge thing. Just have to be fair and don't exclude someone. That is definitely bannable since it'd be a case of 3 Survivors working with the Killer against 1 Survivor.

  • Won't work. Lot of SWF teams will derank purposely to play against Rank 20 Killers. By nerfing Killers even harder at low Ranks, you are going to make it an even worse time for them.

Certain mechanics could be adjusted based on Rank, but until they add some form of reward system to the game Rank means absolutely nothing. You will find professional level players at all Ranks. The only thing that really changes is the SWF teams. Low Ranks you get toxic deranked idiots for the most part. Middle Ranks it's pretty balanced with most SWF teams being fun to play against, very few toxics. High Ranks it's the focused teams or toxic teams.

Solo queues are solo queues at all Ranks. I've made it to Rank 8 Survivor, and I'm not very good. It is disgustingly easy to pip right now, and tbh anyone who can't pip as a Survivor needs to take a look at their gameplan and adjust it. If I joined the meta and bothered to loop, I could hit Rank 1 with ease. I refuse to though, much preferring to attempt to break LoS and hide. Just not very good at it right now.

As it stands, the only real imbalance in the game is SWF and the old Looping vs Camping argument. If you remove SWF MUCH of the imbalance is gone. There's still things that need looked at, but when a game is built for solo players and not teams, it should stay that way or it's going to suffer from balance issues.

  • They should implement a Birds Perk that gives a percent chance for Crows to manifest and begin pecking a Survivor about their head for a set amount of time during a chase. Would visually impair of course, and they can't peform any actions other than running or walking during that timeframe.

How about a Guardian style Perk where the Killer the can set Crows as watchers at various points. Maybe 1/2/3 sets of Crows that will provide a noise notification if disturbed.

If i recall when xbox got this same post, it took a day am i right? 😣😣😣

Since it's Sony, you know to at least double, and sometimes triple, the wait time. I'm guessing it'll be here for the weekend. All they got was a positive response, I'm assuming that means it was accepted finally. Praying it gets here today/tomorrow, but don't get your hopes up.

  • If it is a good game, nice and tense, I'll gg immediately and look for more discussion (discussion, not insults). If we just rekt the Killer, I'll usually wait til the Killer talks to gg him/her. I feel pretty bad when it's one of those 3 hooks, no sacrifices, gens done games where the Killer is left standing there with their mouth open going "######### just happened?" Sometimes I'll even ask about things that I noticed in the match, or maybe I've never used certain Perks/combinations and want to get someone's opinions on them.

Edit - Killer side, they always get the gg even if they are toxic #########. If they did play well, I give them the well played. Surprising how many people appreciate that and will be polite to you afterwards.

  • This is the first major patch they've had since they bought the rights and began their new implementation schedule. Issues are going to happen, and anyone with half a brain will understand that. Now that they've done it one time, they know the process better and can adjust and focus their assets properly for the next Chapter when it comes out.

Maybe they'll put an extra person or two on the console patches, maybe shift people around to better cover the approval process, they might pull some people from the PC portion and place them on the Playstation portion since it seems Sony is a bit tighter with their requirements. When the next chapter comes out, hopefully it's a much better experience and it should be more streamlined. Take it with a grain of salt though because the history here is not that good (abyssmal comes to mind), but they've done the whole process now with their new setup, and hope costs nothing.

  • Just as Survivors should not expect a free escape, Killers shouldn't expect a free sacrifice. If you're going to camp someone at the end of the match, and I definitely think this is a good tactic to use, then you should do it smart.

  • Came back to the game after a few months away, deranked of course due to resets, 3rd match back I faced a deranked SWF team. They were expecting Mr Newbie Killer and I rekt them with my Hag. The f word, multiple death threats and getting reported for being a hacker were the main course in that post-game chat. I just laughed and asked them if they needed some popcorn for their salt. It was pure pleasure.

  • I can forgive Sony anything because of one simple thing, Horizon Zero Dawn. After that, who cares?

  • Noone was given a rollout date, so technically they will never be late. The only thing I remember seeing was a July 29th (I think that was the date announced) rollout for the new Shrine. I could even be wrong about that. Unless someone at BHVR announced "On X day, you will have your update." there should be no expectation of a day for release.

You can sit here and say "But in other cases", "Normally in this situation", and pick your other feelgood phrase, but unless the Developers themselves, or one of their agents, states it's coming out on a specific date, it is not late. "Coming Soon" could mean anything from 6 seconds to 6 months, maybe even 6 years. People are doing nothing but speculating about this or that when the fact is BHVR never announced a release date for it. People just keep putting words in their mouths and trying to stir the pot for their own amusement.

Go play Civilization until the patch is released. There has to be at least 1 other game on your Playstation that you can play besides Dead by Daylight.

  • Gives you time to search for the hatch as long as you've done 2 gens. I've done that before then spun around and around to alert the other Survivors of it. One got the hatch in the end, so was worthwhile imo. No 4k for Mr Killer, and yes, he was salty AF in post-game. Oh the lulz. :chuffed:

  • Love the Swamp (all maps) and Lery's from both sides. I don't really hate any map, but I dislike Autohaven on both sides. Too much clustered in the middle, and not enough LoS breakers at the edges. RNG hates me on those maps.
