Female: Feng Min for the petite minded. Kate for the more curvaceous.
Male: Nea gets my vote everytime. -
They popularized the toxic environment of today. So many fanbois wanted to be just like their wanna-be gods. You never see how badly they get wrecked, only the good parts. One reason I refuse to watch montages and other videos of that nature. They never show how many matches it took to pull off that one slick move. The amount of glitch and bug abuse they posted was disgusting as well. I don't understand how they could not have been banned everytime they posted a video. They all have it in them.
It isn't quite as toxic as it was there for a while. I don't know about high Ranks right now though, playing in the middle myself. I just don't see it as much now though it is still present.
-
When the Killer is nearby, don't just flail your arms. Let them come all the way up and start a tiny bit of progression on the self-unhook bar before dropping them again. If you just flail around a bit, people will think it's safe to come get you.
Better to learn to break LoS and hide, which is much more difficult. Looping is effective but doesn't get you much in the way of points because you're constantly in a chase. Everytime you break a chase for 5 seconds, you get an emblem scoring event + BP scoring event.
You will need to learn when it's necessary to run away from an area because of a Killer, and when it's best to just stay crouched down and hide. Worst part of Surviving when you are starting out imo. Depending on the Killer and their Perks, both strategies can be effective. You will need to learn to figure out what Perks they are running as Whispers is the biggest detriment to hiding.
Big thing. Relax, stay calm, and be chill with everything. When you die fast, accept it and move on to the next match. Try to avoid the usual toxic shitslinging and throw out the gg to the Killer. It is actually acceptable to give the props as well in the "report" functions. I do this for Killers who play great and give me a fun match. Even when I die, you can respect the other person's skills.

4-5 seconds should be good. The noise bubble lasts a few seconds and will wipe out any aura read until it goes away. 2-3 seconds and Survivors will just hang out next to the generator.

- Hiding in corners/confined spaces will not, and I repeat, will NOT always work! It may serve you well every now and then, but that tom-foolery won't always make the cut against an observant killer.
- Do not enter the basement when the killer is close by and it's in the Killer Shack. The grass surrounding the shack will move whenever someone is moving in the basement. Two tips I wish I knew from the get-go.

The grass moves? Oh wow. Nice! Never knew that. Thank you. Time to up my finding Survivors game a bit more.
-
Play Huntress or Hag for a bit, the swap over to the Clown. You'll see a pretty marked increase in the movement speed. You might be getting a tiny bit of lag or something that makes it feel not quite as responsive and therefore slower. He feels the same as Trapper to me though.
-
People should dress up like the Trapper, place a hook outside the Sony offices, and camp it until the patch gets released. Maybe they'll take it seriously then! You could even have some Survivors dressed up like Meg and Claudette running around looping the cars on the street.
-
Add in new objectives is the best answer to it imo. Longer gen times won't mean much. There could be "stop" points on the generators as well. You repair it to X percent, then you need to find a part or gas or whatever to continue repairing it. Maybe you need to flip a circuit breaker so there's no issue with items. At that stop point though, it can't be regressed beyond that.
Could also do something along the lines of:
There's multiple circuit breakers on the map. Each one is connected to a random number of generators. You have to repair the generator first, then throw the switch. Every generator connected to that switch though has to be fully repaired before throwing it. Generators that are fully repaired cannot be regressed. Could even adjust it for ranked play by having more switches on the map for higher ranks. Maybe do 2 for low, 3/4 for middle, and 5 for high.
-
5 minute time limit on them. Even a wet behind the ears n00b can find the exit gates within 5 minutes of them being powered. After that, any Survivor left in the trial should have their aura revealed to the Killer and the hatch should close.
-
They will probably have it up and running by then. That would cause a serious problem for the game if they didn't. Very, very bad customer relations. Stuff like this is what can make or break a game sometimes. Have faith and stay positive.
######### did I just say? Have faith... sigh
-
You also get points for being in the Killer's TR without being in a chase.
If you really want to maximize this emblem. Watch for the Killer chasing another person. Invade his personal space and make sure you're seen for a few seconds. It'll engage the chase, then you can lose him by moving away. Most times they won't follow you, so you'll get the escape. It can backfire though if you do this too much because the Killer will think you're trying to troll him or her.
-
Dunno. If anyone puts up Streamers, I just play like normal. I get 15-20k per match normally, then whatever BP offerings I've put up. BBQ makes this even better if I have it. Someone throws out a Streamer, I'm already making plenty of BP. The tryhards amuse me to no end. They think that they have to play extra hard to scrape those couple extra BP out when just playing normally will net them plenty. Greed is disgusting.
Survivor side I'll usually save all my Streamers for the last couple levels. Makes them go by a good bit faster. I tell my teammates in the lobby too, so they can stack if they want. It actually makes them help me more at times too I've noticed. Like "Thank you. I'll make sure you get unhooked and healed whenever I can." Usually with better saves. I do the same though when someone lets me know they burnt them. Gotta look out for the ones bearing presents. Most times at least one match I get the short end, but it's all part of the game.
-
I play Killer on a wi-fi connection without issues. I just know that when it's storming outside, I swap over to Survivor just in case. That tends to be the only time I experience any real issues with my net. Unless it's something my ISP does, upgrades or whatever, my connection is extremely stable and the only lag problems I see are the Survivors who ready up with 200+ ping. If they're willing to play with that, especially with the ping indicator, so be it. I'll be more than happy to hook their teleporting butt.
Currently getting FPS hits on Macmillan, but apparently that's a known issue so not sure when that'll be fixed. It doesn't happen all the time though, only sometimes. I tend to play relaxed in those games though, because it's something noone has control over.
-
Wouldn't it be funny if they reopened the Shrine and the PS4 update wasn't live yet?
-
Stay calm and stay still. Running targets are more apt to be noticed. Learning not to move is the hardest lesson.
-
I wouldn't have them interact with the player in any way. Just have them be a tracker of sorts. If they player isn't looking at them, they turn to look at the player first, then begin moving in small steps towards them. Would make it not too OP since a player can look at them while running away, but also provide some tracking for the Killer.
Maybe have add-ons to cause them to interact with the players in some fashion. If they get within X meters have them cause Y status effect. Exposed could be one of them for the OHKO, but would definitely need to be UR. Lot of different things they could do.

What Killer mains say:
Where the ######### did that flashlight come.... AGGGHGHHHHGHHGHH. I hate you Claudette.
Who thought of putting 8 vaults in the same.... flashlight! AGHHHHHHGHHGHGHH. I hate you Claudette.
Who is making all of these pallets? I need to find them to make me a.... oh no.... AGGGHGHGHGHG. I hate you Claudette.
Possible SWF team. Fair enough. last second change Oh gawd... it's 4 Claudettes with flashlights. fml -
Gen tapping has been a thing since Ruin was put in the game. Supposedly the devs said it's a legitimate counterstrategy though, so expect it to be there forever. It completely negates a Perk, and it doesn't slow down gen progression much at all if done properly.
People are burning their BNPs now since the Devs announced the possible change to them. Not that it's actually going live, it'll be in the PTB no doubt, and considering the fuss already going around it'll never make it to a live build. But, if it gets those things out of the game faster, go right ahead and burn them.

Pyramid head from Silent Hill. Pick one of the others as a survivor. Would be awesome. Have the map have the siren and it go dark on a schedule. That map idea is fantastic. Would love something like this. Add really good tension into the game.
@azazer said:
Looking at all the pyramid head votes, how about this for a power. He has those nurses spawn (number and speed of movement sleeted by add on) and he can see their aura and they will each home in on a survivor using AI. But will stop if a survivor is looking at them. Now that would be slick. Maybe a certain number per tier, and they start closer per tier as well. Not sure how they'd code it, but this could be something interesting. Maybe make flashlights remove them or something. Not sure how to apply it, perhaps on a hit. Can't make it too OP because a Perk like this could make tracking way too simple.

You cannot force anyone to play a match they don't want to play. Killers dodge for any number of reasons, and SWF is a massive portion of the problem. If the Devs would balance SWF, put in a reward for playing against it, remove voice communication or make it balanced in game somehow, or do anything really to make it more balanced to play against, Killers wouldn't dodge as much.
I've all along never dodged a match for any reason other than something came up and I needed to close the Lobby for a few. I'm starting to get frustrated with the SWF coordination and am considering dodging lobbies that are suspect. I don't mind the items so much, but it is no fun to be attempting to learn to play a Killer and you get trolled the entire by an SWF team on comms. If this didn't destroy the balance so much, and not just for the Killer, but the other solo queue Survivors in the match, it wouldn't be an issue.
Get rid of voice communication, balance SWF for solo queue'ers and Killers, and give some kind of extra reward or something for playing against them. That'll stop a lot of the dodging. Killers will still dodge, but it's just like Survivors dodging using that one third-party app (can never remember the name of it). It'll happen, but it won't be so obnoxious.
-
There could be 2 hatches that spawn. One leads to freedom and back to the campfire. The other leads to a sacrificial chamber for the Entity. Both of them should look the same for maximum lulz. Maybe have a neat animation popup for the Killer and Survivor if they choose the wrong one. Should be map dependent since the sacrificial chamber on Coldwind Farm shouldn't be the same as the one at Crotus Prenn.
-
They should only count unhooks for it if it's a safe unhook. The same way they are counted for emblems. That'll stop a lot of the bullshit hook farming by people looking for stacks. Maybe add in a little buff in some form to it, perhaps: You can see the Killer's aura if they are within 4/8/12 meters of the hook. That's something more along the lines of promoting Altruism like it's meant to do.
-
I get tunneled and camped for P3 now... One Killer told me it was because I was a good Survivor for having it. All I could think was, "Thanks for the compliment, but that's about as incorrect as it gets." I actually stopped using it on my Feng and went to the New Year's shirt. I stopped getting tunneled.
-
If they really want to become a cash cow, they'd put in Sephiroth. The fans would come frothing over to play as him and kill people. Lulz
Slender would be good I think. There's a lot of creepiness there. Pyramid Head from Silent Hill because that is true iconic horror. Not sure if anything/one from Resident Evil would work, I've never played them before, but I'm sure there's something there to draw from. The only problem comes is with the licensing, and there's people and companies who don't want their brand watered down or possibly sullied. I don't think the people who own Freddy's license are proud to see the joke he's become.
I don't think there will be any licensed content for a while though. Maybe some skins for Auric Cells or something, but I'm pretty sure they said they are focusing on original content for the time being. Might be remembering that wrong though.
-
Until they add in a reward for facing SWF, and slow the games down a bit, expect more dodging in the future. I don't do it myself, but I can certainly understand the desire to close a Lobby because of flashlight squads and toolbox squads, not to mention the SWF Death Squad. I solo queue myself so I tend to not experience this much, but if you're getting dodged enough to complain about it, maybe something needs to change on your end.
I do have to say that since we got the new cosmetics, there is a good bit less dodging going on because people are showing off their fancy new outfits instead of their P3 glory.
-
Don't bet on it. I've seen Dev streams that completely bypassed the topics of mass discussion going on in the Forums. They'll fill their stream up with Lore Questions and Artwork. BHVR has a habit of avoiding the hard questions and going for the fluffy pretty things to discuss.

You were the one who said good things come to those who wait and we should learn patience. Then lets have all platforms have patience for a release so we can all have those good things we waited for together at the same time.
PC Players will get the PTB. They'd have been the ones to test the update for the Console players. And why hold the PC Players up due to the fact we don't play on the same console?
If you feel PC shouldn't be held up by console...then don't have a problem with console players having issues that we get a back seat to the PC players then. You got the update before us and console people were mad, so don't say "we should learn patience" when PC is the devs first child who they care about more.
Happens frequently with any game that is ported onto different platforms. Hell it used to be that one platform got a game and the other 2 had to wait a month or more for the port. It doesn't happen as much anymore, but it still does happen.
For some reason people think that their wants should be fulfilled instantly. It's ridiculous. The certification process isn't just a quick checkmark in a box and go ahead. Would you enjoy having a bug filled game that is unplayable? There'd be even more crying going on if that were the case. Ultimately Sony and M$ have the last say on when this update is going to be released on their respective products. You should be voicing your complaints on their forums instead of here.
See but we don’t know what happened during the process so we don’t know who actually caused what. I highly doubt it was smooth sailing on bhvr’s end. So you gotta blame all parties or no parties
Understandable, but really your complaints here do nothing. BHVR knows everyone is impatient, they probably have some random in jokes about it at the company, but voicing those complaints doesn't do anything to speed up the process. To be quite honest, it might even slow it down if someone is feeling the pressure and screws up something because of it.
Need to reign in the frustration and find something else to do while the process plays out. Getting upset and angry over something you flat out cannot control is not good. When the update comes out, then it's time to get upset if it's buggy or unplayable. Pre-release you really can't do anything but causes yourself to have issues.
I do have to ask, did they ever actually reveal a release date prior? Or was it just one of those "Soon after the PC release is out" type of things?
-
I always laugh IRL when someone drops a hook in front of me. It's a pretty good play, and I can appreciate that. Depending on where the next hook is, I may drop the Survivor I'm carrying and chase after the saboteur though. Had a few matches where they did this to me and we had a good laugh about it in the post-game chat. Just don't get salty about it. It's all part of the game.

It feels fast AF for shards being gained. I'm at level 42 or 43, it takes 3750 exp to level up, so roughly 7-8 games depending on how long they take. Already bought the Clown for 9k Shards, that included the 1800? we all got, and I have 1k+ banked right now. Debating on what to purchase next as there is nothing I really want.
They get given to you in bunches now, think I'm getting 270 per level or something like that. There's a level chart posted somewhere iirc. But it is WAY faster than the previous system. I wouldn't be surprised to see them either reduce Shard amounts on level or raise prices in the store a bit. Not a whole lot, but slightly.

How difficult is it to play on PC though? Is it controller compatible.. Or do you have to play with the keyboard? I know my PCs but the only games I've ever played is sims-sims 4 and lol. 😂Keyboard and Mouse is fantastic on the PC. I have a lot of control over what I do. Probably compatible with a controller, but I've seen people talk about how KB/M is much better for controlling both Killer and Survivor.

Low Ranks on PC, not so much toxicity except when a deranked SWF squad is playing and they get hurt because they were expecting a new player to bully. Middle Ranks, about the same, but there are more egos there so you can expect a bit of toxicity. High Ranks... yeah. Nope. Not even going there because it's egos on top of egos. Noone ever screws up because they are too good. It's the Killer's fault, etc etc.
Same thing on the Killer side btw. I've been in a few matches where everyone played decent, it was a fun match, and the Killer started the toxic shitstorm because they just had to flex their ego. It's a rare occurance, but it does happen. Overall though I have to say there's less toxicity than people think if you just avoid the high ranks (red).
-
I think there might be a cutoff. Matches that seem longer than normal, I still only get around 550-580 exp + the emblem bonus. Not sure what the actual sweet spot is, but 8-15 minutes or so works out to 500+ just about everytime. I don't actually time my matches as such, but the few times I did looked like this. It might just slow down the exp gain after a certain time so people don't abuse this mechanic.

Good Doctors at middle ranks are horrible to go up against for me because I haven't been able to counter them properly yet. That takes time and experience. There aren't a whole lot of Doctor players, and I can't blame them since a lot of people will just DC as soon as they hear the first scream. This kinda sucks, because I would love to face more of them so I can come up with good tactics to use as I refuse to pallet loop.
After over 500 hours of exclusively doctor I have to quit because of all the death threats and Dc's. He's my favorite killer but it's just insane how many people give threats because you play him. Now i'm just waiting for the clown profile picture to be added to the forums.
This is a shame. I really do like going against good Doctors just because it really puts me through the wringer. I'm getting better against all the other Killers, even Freddy, but there's no Doctors out there for me to hone my skills on. Most of the ones I've played against in the middle ranks are decent, but nothing special. A couple I've played against were great, but I rarely see them. Must be a time of day thing. I actually see more Freddys and Trappers than Doctors.
I ran mine to P1 and would love to get him to P3 eventually, but the whole DC thing just spoiled it for me on the first run. It was insane how fast I'd see at least one DC when a single person would scream or they'd hear the zap. Could tell when it was a newer player in the lobby too because during the loading screen they'd get the message about the Doctor, having not played against him much, and DC immediately. Ridiculous AF imo.
-
I think there should be more logic to the Rituals. When it pops up with "Kill 1 Survivor with the Shape by your own Hand" and I am level 1 with no BP spent in my Web, it's probably not going to happen. There should be a check in place to see if you have a mori before having to do this. Same thing with stuff like the Sabo Dailies that either require a specific Perk or a specific Item to complete.
Would not mind them being weighted to favor characters I'm currently playing. Give it a better chance of popping up the Huntress on the Killer side if that's the Daily I rolled. Survivor though should just be generic things. I have no intention of playing certain Survivors, and I hate seeing their Dailies come up because I just trash them and it's wasted.
-
I like them both. It's up to the playerbase to be respectful and decent in the chats. It's kind of nice to be able to let your team know you are running certain Offerings, or maybe you are going to try for the kobe so they shouldn't go for a rescue right at the start of a hook.
Post game is kind of iffy. I don't draw a lot of salt because my playstyle isn't tryhard, but people need to stop being so damn sensitive when they die or get caught out on a stupid play. I know it will never happen, this is an anonymous online game, but the chats aren't the problem. It's the players who have their Internet Muscles on and think they are so epic and powerful. When they get cut down to size their egos have to be soothed somehow.
Just don't pay attention to the salt and toxicity. Play the game how you like, and ignore the rest. Personally I take it as a compliment when someone gets vicious because apparently I'm good enough to cause that reaction. I don't mine it, but it does make me smile and feelsgoodman.
-
For me it depends. Anywhere from 5 minutes or so if it's an SWF team that is coordinated to 15-20 minutes if it's a bunch of new players and I take it easy on them. Average, maybe 10-12 minutes when I play Killer. Good bit faster as a Survivor though since I'm higher rank and the players are a bit better. Maybe 8-10 minutes there. Although that also includes the times I really screw up and I'm dead within 3-4 minutes. Lol
-
Generators don't need to be longer, you just need more objectives. I'd rather go on a scavenger hunt for an item to either repair, or continue repairing, a generator instead of holding M1 for longer. Maybe even flipping a switch of some sort to actually be able to repair a generator. Anything but holding that f'ing button in longer. Lol.
-
There's already been a patch to fix stuff that was broken though. Sometimes it's better to wait on ports to make sure everything is working okay. 2 weeks+ is probably a bit much, but at least some of the bugs we had to deal with, I'm looking at you load in and get locked in place, won't be affecting you guys.
That being said, I hope you all do enjoy the update when it comes out. Lot of fun stuff to it, and there's some things to get adjusted to as well. Should be a good time.
-
He's a noobstomper. Middle ranks, even with good add-ons, he's not that bad to go against. He has no real counter to loops other than perfect timing, and even that is debatable. People just hate going against him because of the screams, and they don't have even a mediocre PC so he lags them. Not sure how he is on console, but most people I see complain about him tend to mention lag. I never get any myself, and my PC is pretty budget style so I can't imagine what other people are using to play.
Most Doctor players I go up against don't build to Madness 3. They just run around trying to shock, or go full punishment and completely fail to use their power correctly.

The Developer Stream this week is going to be all Player Created Artwork and Lore Questions. People should know better by now than to expect anyone answering the legitimate questions people have for them.
-
fwiw, I bought the Clown earlier with Shards, and while he isn't powerful or great, he's a hell of a lot of fun to play. Hope you all enjoy him when you get the DLC and Update!

If the Killer DCs, the Survivors should get a safety.
Survivors DC mid-match for so many reasons. Most of the time it's because they weren't as good as they thoguht they were. If people are going to babyragequit, that's on them. It just sucks because their teammates get screwed by it. I usually just take note of their name and dodge lobbies with them in it. Bit of a pain at times, but easier than trying to do 5 gens with 3 Survivors.
-
Part of it is the matchmaking extending the search for matches when it takes too long for an SWF team to find one. The other part is just pure trash matchmaking. It's supposed to take an average of the ranks, but from my experiences at low rank Killer, there's no way unless they were waiting a really long time. Multiple matches where it's 3 red ranks + 1 rank 18-20.
My own thoughts on this is that you shouldn't be allowed to SWF with someone 10 or more ranks lower than you. There needs to be a limitation because bullying the low ranked Killers in this manner is disgusting. They are trying to learn, most of them, and having an SWF Death Squad coming at them will frustrate them possibly to the point of leaving the game. It's bad enough that Survivors, and Killers, can derank and bully the new players as it is, just so they can polish their ego.
-
No. That would make it a bit OP imo. I get grabs reasonably often as it is right now. If they made it so you could grab when at full health, it would be way too easy and make windows and vaults much less useful. Though it's not necessarily a bad idea for that reason.

I've had a few matches where I juked her Blink, moved the wrong way after, she saw me and caught up to me for a hit with just normal movement.I think she moves at 96.25% speed, so roughly 3.75% slower than a survivor. It may be that your pathing was a bit off which is why she caught up with you. She sees you in front of her and she can cut off if you don't run the best path and catch up.
Might be why. Thanks.

They could make this Rank dependent. Once you hit Rank 15, there are no more indicators for Hexes because you damn well shouldn't need them by that point. It used to be no indicators at all, and it was so much better for them. Now though, as soon as that indicator pops up, it's on to the Great Totem Hunt. I used to use Devour Hope on a lot of my Killers because of this, but now it's a wasted slot because you might get 1 hit with it, if they haven't destroyed it already, and then it'll be gone in a minute or two. Rarely have I gotten more than one hit out of it, even at lower ranks. Never used the mori aspect, unless the Survivors were trolling me hard, but that OHKO worked out well considering the requirements for it and the fact you had to pray your totem wasn't getting trashed.
