Change to We're Gonna Live Forever

I think they should change We're Gonna Live Forever(WGLF). BBQ and Chili gives points and an extra ability while WGLF only gives points. I think a proper change to the perk would be to make it when a survivor is hooked you can see all the survivors in a certain area from the hook. For example: Tier 1 it's 24 meter around the hook, Tier 2 it's 36 meter and Tier 3 it's 48 meter. I think this would be a good buff to the perk since it isn't used a lot and make it in line with BBQ and Chili.

  • I dont think survivor perks need to be made to parallel a killers perks so i disagree with this idea. WGLF doesn't need to have an inherent ability. What it does need is getting stacks easier. On BBQ getting the point stacks is not hard and its rare to walk away from a game with less than 4. I think WGLF should encompass more than the specific altruism actions that they currently cover such as taking a hit, saving someone off the hook or getting a flashlight save because these instances are very situational and in alot of cases survivors are lucky to walk away from a match with 2 stacks. WGLF stacks should also include cleansing a hex totem, completing generators, successfully escaping a chase, opening an exit gate, etc. This would reward survivors for playing well and completing their objectives.

But in my opinion BBQ and Chili is without the stacking already extremely strong, WGLF with what i proposed could be canceled out by kindred and it is way weaker then BBQ and chili now is, but if they make it easier to get stacks i think they should bump it up to 8 stacks, there are better perks on the survivor side even if it is easier to get stacks, 4 stacks is just not worth it imo. While BBQ and Chili reigns supreme on the killer side, almost every killer uses it. that is why i think they should change it

Please lord BHVR. Let this happen.

I am sick of everyone running WGLF farming teammates and killing themselves to squeeze out stacks. This is the only fix WGLF needs to actually do its job.

Free stacks? Ha ha ha lol. We're gonna live forever means we, not I. You get a stack from taking a hit after a survivor is unhooked, unhooking a survivor, freeing a survivor from a bear trap, and body blocking. Survivors promote teamwork, killets obviously not teamwork. The one vs the many.
  • Bump. WGLF's trying to encourage an Altruistic playstyle, but when that encouragement is weak and easily exploited at the EXPENSE of hooked team members... yeah. If you want to be Altruistic and actually get rewarded for such a playstyle, your best bet is We'll Make It, Borrowed Time, Empathy, and No One Left Behind.

  • They should only count unhooks for it if it's a safe unhook. The same way they are counted for emblems. That'll stop a lot of the bullshit hook farming by people looking for stacks. Maybe add in a little buff in some form to it, perhaps: You can see the Killer's aura if they are within 4/8/12 meters of the hook. That's something more along the lines of promoting Altruism like it's meant to do.

You do realize that people take hits just to gain WGLF stacks even when they know there's 0% chance to actually help the downed survivor succeed right?

And that people wait in the Exit gates with an injured survivor to build up stacks?

And that people farm other teammates and take unnecessary hits at the hook to build up stacks?

For a perk that's supposedly designed to promote "teamwork" and "living", it does an absolute ######### job at it.

Thats on the players, not the perk, we both know that right? You can't make a perfect farm perk for survivors without it being free. There's survivors who sandbag and such too. Jerks will be jerks. It's not about what people do as to what it should promote. Any farming method will be abused selfishly by survivors or anyone in a group game.

Idk bout seeing auras since kindred is a thing but survivors having to live at least ten seconds is for wglf is good too.

Game design needs to account for player behavior.

You don't put in a sink at a public park and call it a success when its used as a makeshift toilet.

"Jerks will be jerks" is not an excuse. "Thats on the players" is not an excuse. People who flame and grief are punished, not encouraged. This perk encourages and rewards this behavior and needs to be changed.

I imagine you're not the type of person to say "well the guy successfully robbed you so he should get to keep your money" to a mugging incident.

Some people use knives to stab others, does that mean knives should be banned ?

I use the perk and just play the game the same way I would do without it.

Stabbing people should be banned. Duh?

Actually, we should give people a fat 1.5k+25% dollar bonus for stabbing others. Oh wait. That's #########.

Good for you. I play Wraith just fine and it doesn't mean he doesn't need to be changed.
  • Maybe perks shouldn't award bonus bp in any way then ? I find that rather odd in general.

  • Maybe perks shouldn't award bonus bp in any way then ? I find that rather odd in general.

Id give away my BP perks, BP offerings, and ez bloodweb if it meant I could get those SICC legacy skins.

    🤷‍♂️

But the game would be too grindy for most people in the Western market.
  • I think offerings for bonus points are fine, although it could still lead to undesired behavior. But at least they are used up when used and you don't have to "waste" a perk slot that does nothing in the actual match.

  • there are already perks that have plenty of aura reveals for survivors. bbq chilli is the only "good" aura reveal worth using for killers and the bonus bp's make it a killer's staple. gonna live forever is there for those who wish to farm bps as a survivor but also teaching you to be alturistic aka team player and not selfish. it is not to be compared with bbq chilli by any other means than it's ability to grant extra bps. by that logic we should alter no-one left behind too it's just not viable. furthermore I don't see the point in fixing something that isn't broken.

  • A nice change I would like to see would simply be, that you only need to get two stacks worth 50%. It would be nice to have something else to it than only points, but I wouldn't mind if they didn't introduce a change to that. If they did however, I would like something simple. It shouldn't be game changing.

I thought about something that could catch unaware Killer's off guard and generally help with unhooking survivors. Whenever you would unhook a person, it doesn't give the Killer the audio notification, so no explosion happens. You of course still see the person is freed and returned to the injured state, but there is simply no audio cue.
