New Nightmare?
Do you mean “Clown but with a fedora”?
Yeah, I’d place him below old Freddy, 100%. At least with him, games lasted 5 milliseconds instead of 3.

@Raptorrotas said:
Or devs could man up and give good powers to 115% killers too.
@No_Mither_No_Problem If you want to know what happens to slow but crazy chase power killers, look at nurse.
She's gonna get "slighrly tweaked" because her "chase potential" also works as map pressure.
The problem with "fast outside chase, sucks in a chase" ("HB without chainsaw damage") and "fair" "slow killer with good chase ability" ("slow clown") is that both cases are kinda proven to be bad.
Hillbilly without chainsaw damage is fine though? Like, the reason he's good at all is because of his map pressure; the chainsaw just adds insult to injury with how criminally easy this brainless Killer is.
As for "slow Killers with good chase abilities" being bad: every single 110 Killer in the game would like to have a word with you.
-
Can we please nerf Solidarity already? Make it so if you don’t finish the heal you go into the dying state.
-
I’m more concerned about the fact that you somehow managed to hit that stun even though she was nowhere near the pallet.
-
110 Killers are a joy for me.
Not only are all of their powers super good, but even if I struggle with their power, I can usually still manage with them. This is because back when Legion was an actual Killer, I always felt like a scumbag for using Frenzy to down, and it just wasn’t very fun anyway, so I learned how to mindgame with him at his reduced speed, and let me tell you: Unless you have a map with an assload of short-wall loops like Bruh Lodge or Bruham, being a 110 Killer really isn’t all that bad when it comes to your ability to M1. If the loop is short/unsafe or has high walls, you can still mindgame it just fine. The only real issue is having to force a loop that can’t be mindgamed or just catching up to a Survivor before they can get to a loop; that’s where 110 M1 Killers really suffer. Aside from that, though, it’s really not that bad.
That being said, I would absolutely love to see some kind of Killer who has an extremely strong stall or pressure power, but in exchange is a 110 M1 Killer, or perhaps a 110 Killer whose power buffs their chase in different ways than just outright offensive prowess, such as having a faster base vault and pallet break speed, the ability to hinder Survivors’ looping capabilities through methods such as reducing their vault speed, trapping pallets, etc., manipulating their red stain in more dynamic ways than just looking somewhere funky... something like that.
What interests me more than that, however, is different base movespeeds than just 110% or 115%, such as the never-before-seen number in between those two values, the fabled “112.5% movement speed”. Right now, only one Killer can access that movespeed, and that’s Hag with a Waterlogged Shoe addon. I often wonder what kind of power a Killer caught between the designated “weak or average chase power” speed and the designated “strong chase power” speed would have. Moreover, what if we went below 110%? What if we made a Killer whose power had utterly immense chase potential, but was even slower, at 107.5% movement speed? That MS has only ever been around once before; back before patch 1.5.1, this was Doctor’s speed in Treatment Mode. What crazy power could you create with a 107.5% speed Killer? Or what about the other direction? A Killer whose power is absolutely useless in a chase, but in return, their base speed is faster than 115%? What would that look like? I would love to find out, and I hope we do someday.
110 speed is a very interesting beast, but never straying from 4.6 m/s or 4.4 m/s could easily limit how far you can go with a power. A power that would be too weak on a 110 Killer but too strong on a 115 Killer might be just fine on a 112.5 Killer. There’s a whole avenue of movement speeds to touch upon, and I think it would do BHVR well to try and create Killers out of them.
Sorry for the rant; I take quite a shine towards the art and balance of Killer movement speeds for some reason.

I would agree that pig is slightly better.
Cant break pig out of stealth, can you lol
I actually think Faceghost has better stealth than Pig does. It’s just that her dash is really good at a lot of loops, and now that Freddy doesn’t exist anymore, she has the best stall in the game thanks to her traps.
-
Second best M1 Killer in the game, behind Pig.
Yes, Pig is still good. She’s just extremely difficult.

Not getting caught requires skill, regardless of whether you can see or not see a killer.
Myers has immunity but Myers also can't expose someone within seconds and also can't crouch or walk at the normal speed he does before hitting T2EW. There are conditions for his immunity.
"Not getting caught requires skill"
Unless the Killer is Spirit or Nurse, no, it doesn't. Between Exhaustion Perks, the pure safety of so many loops, and the fact that you can actually be rewarded for camping pallets instead of punished, and surviving a chase is piss easy.
"Myers has immunity but Myers also can't expose someone within seconds and also can't crouch or walk at the normal speed he does before hitting T2EW. There are conditions for his immunity."
Faceghost also has nothing but stealth to his kit, which Object completely turns on its head. Faceghost literally becomes weaker when he uses his power against an Object user. The Perk's mere existence punishes him for using his power.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
Why would this perk not work?
The WHOLE point of the perk is that you are sacrificing the killer being able to spot you as well.
That's not a sacrifice if you know how to not get caught.
-
The Blunder Special
You have a tendency to always mess up your achievements. Any time you successfully cause a Killer to miss an attack on you in a chase, immediately bump into something you weren't looking at because you were too busy 360'ing the Killer. Getting hit within 3 seconds of bumping into something will put you into the dying state automatically/cause you to DC/uninstall your game.
"You'd think after learning how to be a 110 M1 Killer, I could mindgame a rank 16 Wraith." —No Mither, No Problem
Best Teammates NA
There's a reason you're stuck in yellow ranks. When put into the dying state, 1/2/3 Survivors working on generators will immediately leave the generator and start Urban-ing around the corners of the map.
"I looped a Nurse for a full minute and you guys got NOTHING done. Bravo." —No Mither, No Problem
Object of Depression
It doesn't matter the precautions you take; that stupid Claudette screwed your entire team over. For every objective you do that hinders the Killer's abilities and Perks, the chances of another Survivor activating them anyway for them to be used on you goes up by 10/15/20%.

"Perk will get you nowhere if you are bad at the game."
They weren't though. They knew how to juke, how to manipulate their tracks, and how to actually mindgame. The problem is, none of that matters because Iron Will in no way stops Spirit from having ears.

They have never tell what exactly Joey and Susie are far as I remember, but I guess Joey and Susie are a pair.
When we think on the situation, the Legion is in and what choices are avaible for Joey... Only Susie is left since Frank and Julie are already a pair.
Btw... Julie my girl^^. Take your Franks and Joeys. I stay by her :O) (why the song "Stand by me" comes now in my head? Damn... sometimes I am weird - Imagine a Legion is singing that in the woods :D).

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but think about the stuff that could apply the Oblivious status effect.
Night Shroud, for sure. Pig's crouch, most likely. Wraith, definitely.
But go beyond that. This is a supposed update. What else is to come in updates in the near future? Addon changes, as confirmed by the devs, and, more importantly, a new Killer.
What if their power or Perks has something to do with the Oblivious status effect? Is it another stealth Killer? Is it a Killer designed to afflict Survivors with nasty effects?
Who knows? Time to speculate!
-
Eww, the new Faceghost cloak.
-
It used to be IW, WMI, Solidarity, and Empathy for an epic gamer healer build, but now it's a build focused more on doing things that aren't encouraged by the current Survivor meta.
Small Game for totem cleansing.
We'll Make It for healing.
Lithe for gaining distance on the Killer instead of mindlessly looping.
Iron Will for trying to actually lose the Killer.
-
Gotta love that people are actually out here defending an already-sleeper meta Perk completely deleting a Killer's power.
Object is extremely, extremely strong if you actually know how to loop. Like people with actual intelligence are saying, Nurse and Spirit are the only two Killers that OoO is a gamble against. Anyone else can't do jack-diddly squat about having your aura revealed if you actually know how to loop them, and the Perk just becomes free tabs on the Killer at nearly all times. And with stealth Killers, it's an even bigger nightmare. But for Faceghost, it's hell on Earth.
Every other stealth Killer has something other than their stealth. Pig has traps and dash mindgames at loops. Wraith has higher map traversal and map pressure. Myers is immune to the Perk during his actual pure-stealth stage—the literal only counter to Object in the entire game. Faceghost has nothing but stealth, and because of his lack of a TR when in Night Shroud, giving Object unlimited range, everything good about his power either vanishes or outright becomes a hindrance.
He can't sneak up on you, because you can see him through walls.
He can't stalk you, because you can see him through walls.
He can't use his lack of a red stain to mindgame you, because you can see him through walls.
It's one thing for a Perk to soft-counter a Killer's power. It's another thing for a Perk to hard-counter a Killer's power. But it's ANOTHER thing for a Perk to actually make the Killer weaker when using their power. Object does exactly that against Faceghost:
It turns him into LegionIt makes him weaker when Night Shroud is active. It makes him weaker when he uses his power. It punishes him for having a power.TL;DR: Faceghost should counter Object, not the other way around.

Apparently that's skill 😂
Yeah, I've only met one Survivor who actually gave me a challenge as Spirit. And it wasn't even because he knew how to confuse or juke me in chases; it was just because he was prestige Claudette levels of immersed the entire game.

@CornChip A lot of killers lack “fun counterplay”
I don’t particularly like getting shocked to an oblivion and hearing The Entity scream in my ear (ESPECIALLY when I am on a hook when I can’t do anything about it) until I snap out of it regardless if The Doctor is weak or not.
I don’t like staying injured the entire match with Plague but that is probably the best strategy.
I hate playing mending simulator.
I don’t like when pallets mean nothing to a Nurse.
I hate getting tiered up on and downed in one hit by Myers and Ghostface.
Many killers aren’t exactly fun to play against or have fun counterplay.
Good lord...if playing survivor is that frustrating to people then play killer. I hate to take a LONG break from playing survivor and now that I am playing survivor more frequently it is much more refreshing.
The difference is, with the exception of Nurse, when you get into a chase against Spirit, well, if she has basic tracking, then there's no chase. She phases and you die.

The sheer stupidity of Survivors is honestly unbelievable at this point. If your movement speed is higher than 110%, it is immediately lowered to 110% for the duration of the trial. Downing a Survivor with your basic attack immediately causes them to disconnect from the match/get banned/uninstall the game.

A satire isn't inherently funny. You may draw humor from it, but not everyone will. That's the point, that it makes a point about something. It is a satire on horror movies, and makes fun of their conventions (the actions of the lead character, of the killer, of the side character saying right behind you to the movie while there is a killer behind them... etc.). Only those who can get the satire will laugh (which appears to be both of us).
It makes sense for the movie for the costume to be easily accessible. However, in DBD, it does not due to the backstory.
Now I'm waiting for a movie costume adaptation. The people who mainly wanted ghostface in the game wanted the movie ghostface. Just because you didn't doesn't mean others didn't either.
I like both looks, since both look great for what they are trying to do.
"A satire isn't inherently funny. You may draw humor from it, but not everyone will. That's the point, that it makes a point about something. The thing is, Scream doesn't work as a satire because it tries to use the exact same tropes it satirizes to be an actual horror movie. It's like a stand-up comedian making fun of a specific type of humor but then using said humor in his routine. Doesn't make much sense. It is literally so bad of a satire that a movie parodying it did a better job of satirizing horror movies.
"It makes sense for the movie for the costume to be easily accessible"
That still doesn't change the fact that it looks bloody stupid.
"The people who mainly wanted ghostface in the game wanted the movie ghostface."
Well, the Ghostface we got is just a straight upgrade since he actually has a murderous costume and isn't an unfunny joke of a slasher villain, so I don't see why everyone is complaining.
-
I care about pips when I play Survivor because when rank reset happens, my teammates go from 2 IQ to -2 IQ.
I care about pips when I play Killer because if I pip too much, then I'm going to be in the biohazard ranks where not playing any of the S tier Killers with a full snowball build is basically an automatic loss.

Um, no. Scream is a satire, not a comedy. There are still some good jumpscares in there, and tries to be a faithful horror movie. Whether or not you laugh is up to you.
The point of the halloween costume for Ghostface is that anyone can be a suspect. It's an easy costume to acquire.
Sorry, your phrasing confused me.
"Um, no. Scream is a satire, not a comedy."
Honestly, when I watched it, it felt like it was trying pretty damn hard to be funny.
It was failing miserably at it, but hey, it was trying.
"The point of the halloween costume for Ghostface is that anyone can be a suspect. It's an easy costume to acquire."
That doesn't change the fact that it is a very unimpressive and unimposing shroud that makes anyone who wears it look like a child going trick-or-treating. Hell, an edgy teen could close their eyes and pull a random jacket and pants out of their wardrobe and have a more murder-y costume than that.
Oh wait, they did. They're called the Legion.

I like both looks, especially the blue one, which I use, but I do want a version of the movie one as a cosmetic in the future... hopefully.
Huntress came way before Clown. She came right after the Doctor.
"Well, I can understand people being disappointed in the fact that ghostface wasn't the same as the movie. As a fan of the movie, I had some disappointment too."
Well as someone who sees Scream as a horror-comedy that is neither scary nor funny, I'm quite happy that Faceghost doesn't look like the silly little boy wrapped in a black curtain that we see in the franchise.
"Huntress came way before Clown. She came right after the Doctor."
That's why I said my favorite Killers design-wise are "all the Killers that came after Clown AND THEN Huntress."
-
Yeah, the art team is easily the most competent part of BHVR's Dead By Daylight team. They really sucked back in the day, but they started to upgrade around the Hag-Doctor era of the game, and then really kicked it up a notch from Clown onwards. My favorite Killers aesthetic-wise are all the ones added after Clown and then Huntress.
Hell, even Faceghost. Much like how the bootleg Bubba is somehow better than the real Bubba, their ripoff Ghostface looks WAY cooler than the original. He looks like he's actually dressed to be a serial murderer, instead of being dressed in a Halloween costume that an eleven-year-old got from Party City.

Thrilling Tremors—One of the best tracking Perks in the game, has a light still to boot, combos well with the rest of my build
Corrupt Intervention—Slows the game down at a more consistent value than Ruin, but also reduces the need to patrol for the early game.
Surveillance—Another good tracking Perk that boosts generator defense, and also allows for better pinpointing of which generators are occupied by Survivors that you can sneak up on/stalk.
Free slot—Whatever I feel like. If I want a Perk that actually gives me an edge, I'll usually go with BBQ or Nurse's. If I just want a Perk that gives the overall gameplay a better feel, I'll go with either Brutal Strength or Shadowborn.

How do you hear footsteps if survivors don't run ? And some survivors like Ace have a very silent breath. Plus you can always break LOS to counter her faking phasing and most maps have enough LOS. And also, you can gain distance on her if she's faking her phasing too much.
"How do you hear footsteps if survivors don't run?"
I turn my volume up. Much like in real life, walking in Dead By Daylight actually creates noticeable noise; it's just that most people don't bother to listen.
"And some survivors like Ace have a very silent breath."
See above.
"Plus you can always break LOS to counter her faking phasing and most maps have enough LOS."
Not if you have basic tracking and can see and hear them with ease. All the issues you're describing all stem from having bad tracking.
"And also, you can gain distance on her if she's faking her phasing too much."
Then that's a very stupid mistake on her part. Just because she's 110 doesn't mean she is physically incapable of pursuing Survivors without her power.

How can Spirit be aids for you when you were used to main old Legion ? Walking remove footsteps sounds, breathing is pretty hard to hear unless you have something like Stridor which will probably hurt you against survivors without Iron Will and you should never fall for her standing still mind games. Just because you can't loop her like other M1 killers, that doesn't mean she is brain dead easy.
Even if I agree she doesn't take as much skill as some people make it out to be. Killers like Huntress and Hag take far more skill than Spirit. Oh and there are some add-ons which considerably make Spirit more easy to play ( Anal Beads, Mother Daughter Ring, Bloody Hair Brooch, Wakizashi Saya ), but without these you really can't messes up as Spirit too much.
"How can Spirit be aids for you when you were used to main old Legion?"
Old Legion was AIDS because Frenzy could down. Unfortunately for your argument, I never used Frenzy to down. I took the high road and went full 110 M1 Killer against injured Survivors.
"Walking remove footsteps sounds, "
False.
"breathing is pretty hard to hear unless you have something like Stridor"
Also false.
"you should never fall for her standing still mind games."
This much I can agree with. It's one of the very few tricks Spirit has that isn't a total guessing game. But even then, Spirits can just fake a standing still mindgame, watch how you react to it, and then phase accordingly. It's not hard. She'll know exactly where you are because she watched you go there, so there is nothing you can do.

"I have not once lost a chase as Spirit, because there is nothing Survivors can do against a Spirit who has eyes or ears."
Okay now who is the one being egotistical?
That's not me being egotistical. I am in no way trying to call myself a good player. If anything, I'm an okay Killer at best.
And that just goes to show how hilariously easy Spirit is.
-
@thesuicidefox said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/608852#Comment_608852
Okay I know that comes off as egotistical, but it's the truth. I give Spirit players a hard time because I know what to do against her. Yea I still die to Spirit's but mostly because I made some sort of big mistake that cost me, not because she is this unbeatable goddess of the game or something.
Which brings me to the second part, and that's most, like >95% of survivors, just flat out suck at playing against the Spirit. I don't care how many hours you have or how good you are against other killers or how well you know the game. None of that matters against Spirit because she is entirely a mind game character. Learning how to predict your opponent and be unpredictable yourself is not an easy skill to teach or learn. I've seen similar things in other games, where you can be a really solid player but have 0 capacity to actually play mind games. Truth is a lot of gamers go into bot mode when playing online. They lack the ability to come up with creative solutions on their own on the fly. Only a very few are clever enough to push through that and do something else. And unfortunately, there is no remedy for this. Either you can do it or you can't. If you can't then Spirit will seem OP and you will hate her. If you can you finds ways around it.
I've seen it first hand. Pretty much every survivor I chase as Spirit is just easy prey because they are PREDICTABLE. I don't even need cues or anything to find them, I just predict what they are going to do, or do something myself that they can't predict and I catch them messing up. But then there are the handful of survivors that actually give me a challenge. They make me really work for that hook. Sometimes I don't even get it, and I have to give up the chase. It's rare but those are the kinds of players I'm talking about, and that's the kind of survivor I am.
I don't even need to predict where the Survivors go. The indications they leave are just so obvious, and there's nothing they can do to get rid of them.
I firmly stand by the belief that if a Spirit misses a hit or messes up with her power, it's not because that Survivor is good or because Spirit is hard. It's because that Spirit is stupid and can't track.
That's all Spirit is. Tracking. Sure, you can try to mindgame with her husk, but there is ultimately no predicting necessary. It's just basic tracking skills. Not being blind or deaf. Spirit is easy. VERY easy. In the 10 or so months she has been out, I have not once lost a chase as Spirit, because there is nothing Survivors can do against a Spirit who has eyes or ears.
If you think Spirit is hard, or even if you ever lose a chase as Spirit, I have two words for you: git gud.
-
@thesuicidefox said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/608840#Comment_608840
I disagree. Against good survivors she's actually not that easy. Against not good survivors yea kinda.
For example, pretty much every Spirit I play against has a super hard time catching me because I know how to play against her and I use both Iron Will and Spine Chill all the time. Playing like a braindead Spirit won't work against a survivor like me. You need actual skill to catch me. Or luck that I mess up.
First of all, saying you need skill to "catch a Survivor like you" makes you sound like an egotistical jackass. Just saying.
Second of all, until tracking the audible footsteps and the uninjured breathing (which IW doesn't remove when injured) of Survivors or seeing exactly where they run because of the disturbances they leave becomes difficult, I will continue to say that Spirit takes no skill and is a guessing game at best. She's the only Killer where I can literally mindgame the Survivor by stopping to scratch my nose—which I have in fact done before.
Sorry for the rant; Spirit is my most utterly detested Killer. She's such AIDS and I wish she was never added.

LOL yea she DC'd before I got her to a hook, I think she was expecting GF.
But it wouldn't have helped her. I would have still known she was in the area and as a Spirit she has no way to be sure where I will pop up. I have insanely good tracking skills, and she was close (something like 30m). I doubt even a really good survivor could have avoided me.
Point is OOO hurts Spirit way less than normal killers because she can move around without OOO showing her position. If you are too close and reveal yourself, and she sees you, against a good Spirit that's like asking to die. All I need to know is about where you are, once I'm in phase walk I can do the rest. If you stay and hide I will probably find you. If you run I will almost definitely find you. She's really the only killer you wouldn't want to use OOO against. Also old Freddy, but that's not a thing anymore sadly.
Well, Spirit is also braindead easy anyway, so that's probably a huge part of it.
Just saying.
