She got the Freddy Dev.

The issue trying to balance the game on two kills two escape is that matches are not played on even fields.
Ranking System
The ranking system itself isn't a measurement of skill but how much time you put into the game. Anonther being who you are matched against. If you constantly play against bad players you will rank up even if your skill level doesn't reflect that rank. You also have good player stay at lower ranks playing against bad players.
Matchmaking
Matchmaking pairs killers and survivors with varying ranks up to 6 in either direction. In worst case you could have survivors up to 12 ranks apart. A rank 4 killer could potentialy face four rank 10s and vice versa. It is easy to see the outcome of these types of matches.
Why 2k 2 escape?
Because it's easy. If you ignore whats behind your data it's the most logical way of balancing. Devs have said they don't purely look at the escape rate but what else do they have?
Solution?
Individual skill needs to be messured. Either this is something that can be tracked in the background or in a way the player can see. If a player can 4k with every killer then its the player that is good and not the killer they choose. There are systems already out there that measure player skill level that could be adopted. One of those is the Elo rating system that rewards points based on who you face and their score compaired to yours.

I'd rather not hear it, tbh.
Freddy gets an annoying sound after using his power and makes me not want to use it at all.
-
Wishfull thinking. They still didn't address her "when she's phasing or not" thing that Twitchies complained about.
Don't think this is the end of it.

I rarely see someone call killers in general too powerful, only certain ones. So I’m gonna agree with Peanits.
No surprise there.

That's a requirement!? ?

They do though. How can a mod of these forums not see it?

Regarding the nurse many say that for those who know how to use it is still strong ....
Funny how that comes from those that don't know. Dedicated Servers hurt her even more.

Spirit got the Freddy rework Dev. I was expecting a way for survivors to track her phase walking.

@Blueberry The percentages on the Amulet confuse me a bit. Can you explain it in simple terms. Like how much slower will she be?
She becomes slower than the Nurse's walking speed.

That may be so but in my eyes if she is entering a different realm while phasing then she shouldn't be running into survivors. Lol
I don't think of it as another realm or Mr. Bing Bong would be in trouble. She is though, a ghost.

There's two main reasons:
- Loss of progress. There is an issue where early event cosmetics would sometimes disappear due to an error. We would have to manually re-apply them to each person one by one, which can take quite a while. Often times we would get a surge of those tickets and it would make a huge backlog of tickets, slowing down support across the board.
- There's no way to get them. Lately, we've started to make sure that things are available to everyone. The Hallowed Blight and Withering Blight events are a good example of this; you play, you earn event currency, you trade that currency in for cosmetics. Missed the event but really want a particular outfit? You can grab it from the store. This way you can earn it for free, but you're not totally out of luck if you miss the event.
The simple version is because we want a clean slate. We want to make sure that everyone has the same opportunity to earn them going forward.
As for legacy, we're not looking to re-release that because we have promised in the past that it wouldn't be returning. We don't want to go back on that promise if at all possible.
As for legacy, we're not looking to re-release that because we have promised in the past that it wouldn't be returning. We don't want to go back on that promise if at all possible.
Never go back on that promise. It would be disrespectful to the players that played when this game was small and starting out.
I don't have any Legacy, btw.

Even Spirit Mains are ok with the changes aside the amulet which seems like nit picking to me. I think her changes will do just enought to at least give survivors a fighting chance. All the changes are fairly minor anyway. Didn't even touch her base kit like they did with the nurse.
Techically removing her collision is a basekit change. Even though it was more than likely an oversight by the Devs when making her.

Sounds good to me. I wish survivors stopped working on generators any time I used my power as Huntress or Hillbilly. I'd be able to chase people and take people off of gens at the same time. Sign me up.
Or they start tapping

There is already a sound queue and her shards glowing when phasing and her hair resets.
What do you want?
A giant disco ball?
Can...can we do that? ?

I don't understand the event ones with the reason they provided. You cannot trade or buy those. I think it's because they don't want to mess with restoring them if lost anymore.
As for Legacy, I hope they never release them globally. I say this as someone who started playing after Legacy ended.
-
Removing the collision while phasing should of made pulling survivors off gens a little harder to do. Now they just stop working if they hear the vaccum.
😃
-
Being that phasing is global with prayer beads does that exclude when in terror radius I wonder?
-
It was bound to happen someday
-
There's tells with her default appearance. They will more than likely shadow change her outfits to match this.

Because pallets are SUPPOSED to be the area of safety for the survivors. The only items that provide any safety in a chase are pallets and windows.
Nurse is the worst offender because there's no value in a pallet. You drop it or you don't either way she can blink and hit you, all dropping it does is slow you down. Worst is that even if you time your drop excellently and stun her mid blink, she just ignores that completely and gets a free hit.
Spirit presents a similar issue, because unlike every other killer you can't use any information to decide what the right move is once a pallet is down. Any time that should be bought is gone because the only correct answer is always drop it and run straight away. It's a huge boost in chases for a killer that is already highly mobile and strong in chases to never NEED to break most pallets.
Huntress is much more easily adapted to, as she is slow moving and has no way to get closer in a chase except running, so dropping a pallet earlier still allows you to break line of sight and use the pallet as a point of strength.
People have this massive hardon for saying "JuSt AdApT." If you went against ANY killer, even without their powers, and pallets just didn't exist, the game would be insanely difficult. It isn't as simple as "just playing better," Spirit's power especially forces you to run in areas where there is nothing of safety because you're at a pallet and she MIGHT be phasing, you have nowhere to go but away. You can pull all of the BS you want about backtracking or walking or whatever, but it's impossible to play all game without moving grass. Perks allow her to hear you breathe incredibly easily, laughably so when injured, and worst, collision means no matter how well you play she can bump into you at any time for a free hit. You CAN mindgame and outplay someone who hasn't played her much or isn't very good at the game, you cannot reasonably outplay someone who knows how to use the ample information they're handed on a platter.
Nurse is the worst offender because there's no value in a pallet. You drop it or you don't either way she can blink and hit you, all dropping it does is slow you down. Worst is that even if you time your drop excellently and stun her mid blink, she just ignores that completely and gets a free hit.
In reference to old Nurse. If you want to run a Nurse effectively you need to get out of the mindset that pallets are your only safe haven. Better yet, ignore the existence of pallets entirely. Use the map and its design to run a Nurse. Always force a Nurse into making long blinks and prediction blinks. Never stay within short blink distance. Use buildings and jungle gyms to break LoS. Do not wait for the red glow around corners to start moving. Remember your goal is to waste the killers time not run them for 5 gens and escape.
As for Blood Lodge, mentioned as being open without much LoS blocks. Don't run in the center where its open. Stay at the edges where there's plenty of cover to run around. The map is fairly large too. You can run her to opposite sides of the map buying your teammates time to do gens.
Then you have newer maps that are dense with places to break LoS forcing the Nurse into guessing and wasting time if they guess wrong.
The long and the short is, if you run pallet to pallet against a Nurse you are broadcasting your position making it easier for her to get a hit. Instead, use the terrain to your advantage. The pallet game is limiting your experience. Open yourself up that this game can be more than a nascar simulator and chases can be done using predictions and counter predictions.

There's no measurement of individual skill to base what needs to be balanced. You can have a skilled killer go against 4 potato survivors and 4k without much trouble. Then that killer gets a overperforming tick to their stats.
They need to start ranking players based on a elo type system.

This game has a lot of rank 21s even in red ranks. What ranks do is it brings false confidence and in reality most of the randoms will play like potatoes no matter the rank. Until they will come up with system that works idk what's the point.
Takes time for those potatoes to get up in rank unless boosted by friends or boosted swfs to begin with. Even so, getting rid of the rank system would constantly pair skilled players against non skilled players. This would disincentivize any unskilled player from playing in the future.
-
The rank system doesn't base itself on a set level of skill. Whether you rank up or down is based on who you go up against and both your skill levels. If rank reset doesn't happen the really good players will rank up to red ranks first. Then behind them the mediocre will all rank up and then the unskilled. At the end you will have everyone in the purple/red ranks with nothing seperating their actual skill.

@coppersly if blinking constantly was part of her design then they would have just given her the constant blink as a mobility power and not let her hit WHILE blinking because that’s what broke her.
You could literally blink infront of a survivor sometimes and swing and you’d get a guaranteed hit. That doesn’t exactly scream skill especially when you have already blinked enough to correct your mistakes.
Are you referring to more than 2 blinks? Because your statement only makes sense if you are.
She can only attack after a blink not during so she needs to blink the correct distance to where you will be. I don't know what you mean about landing infront of. She can turn around you know. Her camera isn't locked in one direction.

if you have issues with current nurse, you were never a good nurse to begin with. her blinks now require actually thinking and not just mindless no cd flying around. with that kind of opinion you probably relied on omegablink or multiple extra blinks. its clear as day
That kind of statement shows you don't know what the ######### you're talking about.

Wait...how will they gut Legion more?! He doesn't even have a power!
Make him slower in frenzy than walking.
-
At red ranks where pipping requires 13 points. A 2 kill 2 escape game would result in a black pip or a depip 9/10 times. In order to advance in this rank you have to, by BHVR's definition of balance, overperform. Thus whatever killer you choose to play will show up on the Devs stats as in need of slight tweaking.
Being that Nurse was the most popular killer at red ranks, she ofcourse would require 3-4k a match to even be there. Because she is hard to play, low rank baby Nurses usually don't perform very well balancing the numbers. But because of being the killer of choice at a rank that requires more than 2k to advance in, she was overperforming and in need
nerfsslight tweaks.Spirit, not requiring to use her power to kill low rank survivors and being effective enough to get over 2k in red ranks to rank up, is next on the chopping block. All because BHVR has two conflicting ideologies.
-
Yes she is. She's overpreforming by getting more than 2k average. We cannot have killers getting more than 2k average as this will drive away
moneyplayers. Even though the Emblem system we implemented will black pip or depip a killer that gets 2k at red ranks. -
Servers just make the random bugs from P2P more common.
https://youtu.be/C9y8UyuXIIgYou detect the hit and start the animation. The survivor's hitbox moves outside the chainsaws range and the confirmation check fails the hit.
Less likely to happen on P2P but add servers and it becomes more pronounced.
-
Holding at 99% is intended because exhaustion doesn't recover while running. What you may be referring to was the bug where sprint burst not activating if you were crouching before sprinting.
Going by the the rest of your post, it couldn't be lag because the server is what feeds you the survivor's position. Pauses in their connection to the server would translate to them standing still or running in place to you.
If they SB multiple times in one chase I would call suspect.

In all my years as a boss, parent, and coach, I've found people react much better to positive rather than negative reinforcement.
You reward your kids for going to school or do you reward them for getting good grades?
Not DCing in a match is going to school.
