  • Sometimes I read posts like this and I have to wonder if the person posted it has played a single Killer game ever.

    Here’s the quote from Mandy

“Hi, we're still working on the bugfix patch - there won't be a release today. We will communicate with more information when it becomes available.”

Thanks :( Very disappointing to hear.

  • First time on an online game?

People find lots of joy in tormenting or bullying others.

Where they might balk in real life due to the consequences, internet anonymity is too strong.

Not much more to say besides try not to let it bother you.

I'll leave on this: My boyfriend recently started playing and loses Killer a lot. I asked him how he dealt with the "bullying". He said "I don't mind losing or them T-Bagging, because at least they are having fun. I am sure it is not fun for them when they are all on the hook. Its a give and take".

  • Sounds like you need to take a break from playing. Since every game is misery for you apparently.

Don't like the massive survivor queue times? Try playing Killer. Maybe it will broaden your perspective.

Expecting the Killer to modify their playstyle to fit your tastes is beyond ridiculous.

  • Bit insane we are still going to have to deal with this mess of a chapter.

I am assuming it will be another week since they never release anything outside of Tuesdays?

With the bugs + Trickster, this latest patch has been a giant let down. Now their feet are dragging on the fixes.

    Yikes.

    in Patch? Comment by Moxie
  • Can you link the source? Any idea when it will drop?

The bugs this patch + Trickster has left an awful aftertaste.

  • Negative interactions are unfortunately more memorable.

No one remembers 4 people saying "GG" at the end chat or at least it is unmemorable.

  • Just played Huntress instead of Trickster.

Can confirm, OP Is telling truth.

  • Should be similar to Leatherface where the knives are always "prepped".

I don't know how it would be done though

  • The Caged Heart Shoes and Killing Chords are good add-ons (MS while throwing)

  • @MadLordJack said:

All the survivors have to do is run a maze tile tight and suddenly you're a 4.4 m1 killer. That alone makes him the worst killer in the game by an enormous margin.

Agreed. All the problems of Huntress without her lethality.

  • Prestiging is almost purely cosmetic. You get the bloody outfits.

There is a very small increase to rare items in the web but we are talking like 4-5% increase at Prestige 3.

Do not prestige your character unless you want their bloody outfit.

  • Very weak Killer, no new map and pretty much meh perks all around. 3/10 Chapter.

Yeah game isn't broken like Binding of Kin, although I see a lot of pallet issues reported.

  • Just making the laceration not decay would be a huge buff.

Makes every hit you do "stick". But he needs more buffs than that, just not sure what else.

  • There is also a grammar error in her description of her Seoul outfit.

You have the clip for this because please I need to see it with my own eyes.

I am not tech savvy and I don't have a Twitter account but search this article in general discussions, it was yesterday:

I'M CONVINCED THAT ALL-KILL WAS A MIS-TIMED APRIL FOOLS' PRANK

    Clip is in article.

The map was better before. This is another failed rework like the autohaven maps, The Game map, and the Clown rework.

Somehow the developers are worse now than they were 3 years ago. How is that even possible? New blood?

1 word for what has changed 3 years ago: Cosmetics.

Dev's make a lot of money from cosmetics and they require "passive effort". Release 'em, and the funds roll in.

The art team is incredible, but it has nothing to do with balance, gameplay or enjoyment.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

The killer has been out for three days. I don't know how this translates to the devs ignoring feedback. You're not going to get a full picture of the killer's performance on the PTB, and the devs have historically tended to make small changes from the PTB and while saving bigger changes for upcoming patches. Absolutely nothing suggests they're going to leave him as is.

I am quoting a DbD Dev that said this yesterday.

I am sure he will receive buffs as well, but they claim they will not be looking at him for 2 months.

As others have said, this isn't set in stone.

  • Because a certain dev said in a stream lately they will not even be looking at Trickster for 2 months.

    Get comfy.

  • @RPGWolfGamer23 said:

Isn't Trickster default speed (110% m/s) during Main Event though, or is that still bugged from PTB?

Incorrect, tragically. If you read the wording carefully, you do not get slowed by additional knife throws. Default Knife throwing MS is 92% which is what you get during Main Event.

If you continue throwing knifes (normally) you will get steadily slowed down to roughly 60% MS.

  • @Exerath1992 said:

Now everyone is being real a$$ holes this time, sluzzy is right. This killer is getting constant carp because you can't Insta down, but there are a lot of redeeming qualities.

OP is 100% right about the spamming issue. Everyone wants to spam knives while loop chasing, and that's just stupid.

One great strength of the knives is zoning survivors. If they start running at a loop you don't want them at, throw knives between them and the loop and they will often dodge away, letting you catch them on the loop faster. or sometimes they even give up on the tile entirely

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2071928#Comment_2071928

Yeah, considering you get 60 knives, its not a lot. That's 3 downs with basekit with room to miss 7 knives. That's 3 downs per reload, where as Huntress only gets 2 downs and an injury with base kit. Yes, it takes longer than Huntress, but more room for error and there's more things you can do with the knives (zoning, prepping a hit against someone with endurance, shooting through small gaps, wasting a couple knives to throw at a really far away gen or totem to get survs to panic and run before they complete it, and the add ons give so many special kinds of traits that are fun and effective)

Basically, i think he has a similar skill ceiling as Huntress but a lower skill floor. Plus, he doesn't have that damn lullabye to worry about, and the additional main event that can sometimes be clutch. Yes, its not the best secondary power, but its better than nothing. Sometimes you get no value, sometimes you get a slugfest.

Bringing a wall of logical text to a Sluzzy post.

    Gottem.

To be fair, when survivors are heavy nerfed every patch there comes a point when some killers finally have to be nerfed. Now several needs to be nerfed. It's very imbalanced to have strong killers when survivors in general are extremely weak.

I agree Sluzzy! Survivors sure have it rough right now with the constant onslaught of nerfs.

They are on the right track. Instead of nerfing Killers, they just release them pre-nerfed! Genius.

I have never used ds at all as I just don’t like the perk tbh. The issue with that is even if you have ds the killer can still tunnel you out of the game as ds will only buy you a few seconds and not actually allow you to escape a chase with the killer

DS only buys you "A few seconds" if you literally just stand there after stunning the Killer.

DS buys you at least 40 secs if you just run in a straight line. More if you actually run to a pallet or loop.

As people have said, tunneling and getting someone out of the game as soon as possible is the Killer's best option.

If you find tunneling unbearable, but refuse to take DS...What do you want? Killer's to modify their play to suit your tastes?

  • Was a post made yesterday called:

I'M CONVINCED THAT ALL-KILL WAS A MIS-TIMED APRIL FOOLS' PRANK

I cannot link the Twitter/Twitch clip sorry :( Just search this article

  • Recent stream from a certain developer says they won't even be looking at Trickster for 2 months.

    Get comfy.

  • "Only takes a Few Blades to down someone"

    A few = 16 apparently.

    Never change Sluzzy <3

  • All his power balance aside, they NEED to fix the Chaser emblem quickly.

Getting a 3k and BARELY safety pipping is ridiculous.

It is a problem when almost every killer is doing it and you forget that you can rely on your teammates because solo queue is absolute garbage right now. Also even if the devs said it’s fine a long time a go doesn’t mean it actually is, the devs are just wrong saying they aren’t problems.

DS is still in the game. If you refuse to take the anti-tunneling perk after it's nerf...Were you just abusing it? 🤔

  • I can only assume the point of those add-ons are for two very niche circumstances:

1.) You hit a survivor with some knives, but not enough. So it gives you time to reload and continue throwing. Obvious problems with this thought process so it is much more likely #2.

2.) Iridescent Autograph add on. When you reach 7 knives, they become exposed. Combined with the add ons you mentioned, you can keep them Exposed for extra time.

Problem with him isn't the admittedly weird add ons, but his garbage base power.

  • I think that is the main point people are making: His power has so many drawbacks using M1 is superior.

To even get into a position to M1 with a 110% Killer means the survivor messed up or is not looping properly.

  • Please no more maps until we fix the broken maps we have been playing on for four years.

Haddonfield and Coldwind need desperate attention.

  • @CornHub said:

Yeah but the issues were unintentional and/or just bugs. The devs intentionally released him believing he's okay and not bottom tier trash.

The Dev's knew exactly what bugs The Twins had, since it was all recorded and feedbacked in the PTB. Go back and read the "Known Issues" for Binding of Kin release and have a laugh.

The point is they still released it. That is why I bring it up. They do not care if they content if broken, boring or middle of the road.

They hype it up, cash in on sales, and fix it "eventually".

  • @GlamourousLeviathan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2068335#Comment_2068335

Well, Legion can actually stab you forever and Deathslinger can shot you as many times he wants without downing you. So it's not not new survivors being made of steel. Trickster still sucks btw.

Even Legion/Deathslinger injure you if healthy AND apply a Bleed out timer. Even if you cannot down them with their powers, it still causes delays for survivors.

Unless you commit to hitting all 8 knives with Trickster, you wasted time on throwing + reload. Not to mention the knives just decay automatically for survivors, no mending needed.

  • I only regard Binding of Kin as a worse chapter because The Twin's power (and perks) were literally broken and unusable.

At least Trickster technically works. This is still a garbage chapter though, since it is really the Killer's potential that makes a Chapter.

  • @Purple_Orc said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2068335#Comment_2068335

You know what might have been cool? For each knife the in the back of the survivor they would get a slight movement speed penalty.

This would at least give the Trickster a reason for all the slowdown.

I would be happy if the knifes just didn't decay. It would at least make every hit you do get "stick".

As it is, you can just run jump and skip away with up to 7 knifes sticking out of your ribs.

  • Imagine not giving a ######### about 7 knifes in your back until the 8th hits you.

  • Hate to be a broken record, but look at the Binding of Kin chapter.

Killer released with Power literally broken half the time. 3 perks were nerfed before even coming out the gate and 2/3 perks didn't even work + no new map.

They released the chapter that way and did not update anything until 2 weeks later. That was just a fix for the game breaking bugs too.

What I am trying to say is, this is what they are going to do for the foreseeable future; release broken content that was hyped, cash in on sales, and patch the content to a playable state in 3-4 weeks.

    Get comfy.

  • A sad trend in video game industries... Build massive hype, collect sales, but don't provide.

Then patch the new content into a playable state in 3-4 weeks.

  • Sluzzy? Is that you? Nevermind.

Anyways, you are trolling if you think this Killer is anything but dog shiet

  • My only assumption is with K-POP themed chapter they wanted to bring in new players, specifically people from Korea.

There is a notable stereotype that gamers from Korea are highly skilled. Seems to me they wanted the Trickster to be cool, skilled range killer that could be mastered with proper practice.

Problem is the Killer is fundamentally broken and weak.

  • They cannot balance the maps we DO have and you guys want more?!

I would like the maps we have had for 4+ years to be balanced. Haddonfield and Coldwind are relics.

  • The Chapters are ultimately a new Killer. Survivors are just reskins of each other with different perks. Additional maps also contribute to a chapter.

No map this chapter and the Killer has severe problems. You can like him, his aesthetic and playstyle (I like him too), but you can only lose and get bullied so many games before you just give up and play a Killer that actually has a thought out kit.

No one (reasonable) has a problem with the chapter itself, just its lack-luster new Killer (which is the Chapter itself).

The problem with this game is the minute you learn the ropes they toss you to the sharks. Oh? You’re a rank 13 killer? Sounds about time for you to face rank 1 SWF. Same with Survivor. Oh? You are doing good and having fun? Well let’s knock you down a peg and make you constantly lose against red rank killers.

    So true.

My boyfriend just started playing. Couldn't hit skill-checks or anything for the first week.

He is now a little better, a ripe rank of 14. Consistently gets ranked with 7+ and sweaty Killers. I won't even talk about the survivors he gets as a rank 18 Killer.

There is not much time between PTB and Live Release for them to change things. They might already be working on something, but this will not be ready for Live Release (no information about that, just pure speculation from my side).

Might also be possible that we will have to wait a few months before they change anything, like they did with the Silent Hill-Chapter (I think they made changes to PH and the Perks in the Midchapter after the Blight-Release).

They may be able to make some minor number changes but yeah anything requiring more than that...not enough time.

But I agree; they likely won't do anything to improve Trickster. I am sure the delay is more related to the massive amount of game-breaking bugs this chapter, once again, is introducing.

Can't remember them all but the two main ones is Ruin not working at all and Huntress is unable to reload currently.

  • Camaraderie activates during the struggle phase.

No need for a nearby teammate.

  • The perk is very thematical and balanced IMO.

The obsession sees the Killer's aura after each gen. The Killer sees "scream bubbles" of the survivors location. It is not a hidden perk such as NOED. Also, its hilarious being the survivor with rancor and someone else hits a DS. Your problem now lolol.

I like it. It fits the theme of the Spirit too (her perk). Slowly building rage until it cannot be tolerated anymore.

    in rancor Comment by Moxie
  • No one agrees DH is anything like NOED.

But I am sure we are all wrong and your lone opinion is right.

  • Yes, a game that needed another year of polish, was released early for big 2020 Christmas sales. Look what happened.

My point stands: Delay the release until it is ready.

Technicality or not, they're bound to know this, and an official announcement from them in some capacity would be the professional thing to do.

I understand your frustration, but no release date was ever mentioned. All they said was "Coming Soon".

Considering the rushed release of the last chapter (even after an additional week delay) was a disaster. It's better to wait for a proper release, despite the disappointment.
