they're right there dude.
As you have said, your copy/paste skills are unmatchable š
-
Wish they reduced the corn in the map update.
Woulda been cool to see corn similar to the bamboo on Yamoka Estate. Enough to play and juke with, but spread out.
-
He's better. Better in the sense that his power feels responsive and possible to aim.
Viable? Ehh...He still suffers all the same problems (yes, I played him on PTB). Can still be looped for ages at certain tiles, 110 Killer with no map pressure and the blades still take too long to down (compared to other killers).
He's better, but still garbage imo. Shame too. I really like him as a Killer.
-
His buff is tomorrow.
You can test out his changes in the PTB right now.
I have tried him and he's still...garbage.
Haven't tried all add-ons but the changes seem quite minor in the actual game.
-
Well...Since suggesting reasonable buffs and improvements results in it being nerfed...Maybe reverse psychology will work.
-
Yeah they move them to the Feedback graveyard, where no one reads them. Especially the people who claim to "value all feedback"
-
Yes, it is today, but it will not be available for another hour for me.
-
Dunno why they nerfed an already lackluster Killer.

Note: it is reduced by 5 degrees. That's narrower, not shorter. It gets more accurate as Totems are cleansed.
Why did you nerf Twins? Why are you punishing players for using their Power?
-
Its Wednesday for Trickster Bug Fix Patch, PTB tomorrow.
-
Really strange nerf to an already lackluster Killer.
BHVR cannot just buff or give something to a Killer. They have to take something away. Always.
-
Because then it would be a direct buff to the Killer. And that won't do.
Bhvr doesn't do direct buffs. What they giveth, they must taketh. Are you seriously expecting a Killer power that puts a survivor from healthy to dying in about roughly 40 secs? Way too OP.
-
This game started going downhill when they removed the second window from Killer Shack š”š¤¬š°What were they thinking?
@Sluzzy speaks the truth but people are too scared to hear it.

That can't work in DBD unless we have foundation that supports multiple killers in 1 game properly.
Also with how frustrating DBD can be, 2 players in 1 character is a very bad idea.
I've played Cho'gall in hots and I can assure you as much as I loved to play him, when I did so with randoms, it was a hit or miss based on the kind of person you've played with. Characters like these are very unpopular unless you have a good friend or two who like to play them with you.
I agree with how you feel. Makes sense.
Trying to brainstorm ideas so Killer's can work with a partner, rather than being solo all the time. I only thought of this because both myself and my partner prefer playing Killer, but obviously cannot play together doing both. Open to all feedback.
-
They said they haven't ruled out the possibility of introducing a map for Trickster in the future.
Considering how restricted they are by their own chapter release schedules, I really do not see it happening ever.
But who know?
-
So you cannot stun the Killer and Sprint Burst or Lithe half way across the map???
Different from Smash Hit because that at least requires you to use a resource.
-
I think it really needs the right balance of horror, simplicity and mechanics.
I am following Home Sweet Home: Survive closely. It is the closest (and most fun looking) competition to DBD I have seen yet.
Price point, theme and mechanics are there. Just needs a lot of polish. It is similar to how much polish DBD needed in 2016.
-
They wanted his speed changed and more changes to Main Event.
Speed change because it is difficult to maintain line of sight with survivors, regardless of Knife accuracy.
Main Event is only getting a small speed increase when people wanted it to be A.) Activatable and B.) Control the Knife throwing.
The buffs are all around good, some people just think it is not enough and/or focusing on the right things.

"how dares he not be satisfied with this handout bhvr so generously gave 1,5 month later than they should have and which does not address all his main problems"
Again, you sound unsatisfied with the buffs. You are entitled to your feelings. Glad you are expressing yourself.

read my comment again.
I don't give a ######### about movement speeds, if anything they were bearable.
I'm talking about the fact that laceration simply disappears after 15 (or 20 after buff) seconds or that you MUST use main event in a span of 10 seconds unless you want it to be gone.
You sound unsatisfied with the buffs. You are entitled to your feelings. Thankfully, most people are happy with this step and aren't bemoaning changes that didn't happen yet.

Hey everyone! š
Thanks for leaving all of your comments. We've been reading them all morning, so keep the awesome feedback comin'!
As mentioned in the OG News post, we'll continue monitoring your feedback about The Trickster, as we do with every other Killer. If more tweaks are necessary, they'll be announced in a future update.
Looking forward to hearing what you'll all have to say when the upcoming Bugfix Patch drops! ā¤ļø
Can you give us a date? Even a hint of the date? <3 Please. xoxoxox

Toxicity. You're getting ######### on by 4 people simultaneously ...
However, It's always been a riddle for me as to why people actually care about toxicity that much, now I'm not making fun of anybody for being "weak", just asking about some pseudo-scientific insight because personally I never cared for it much, in fact, if after a win someone is pissed enough to insult me I know i did a damn good job, so how come some people care ? They're random people they will literally never interact with again and who know nothing against the guy they're insulting, why doesn't this automatically make people not care ? Im genuinely curious.
Off the top of my head, it's probably the fact that you are playing a game for fun. People don't queue up for abuse, even if they have thick skin.
Yeah, a stranger insulting me is not going to hurt as much as an acquaintance, but it's unpleasant at least. Compound this, as you said, with 3 other people over multiple games and it becomes very irritating after many hours (I have 2200 so I am at that point).
Yeah, don't let it bother you but everyone knows that is easier said than done sometimes.
-
I have a feeling that 24 hour test put a major hold on releasing MMR.

Rank 1 for years, probably an issue on your server. Iām guessing you play with cross play off?
Nope! Cross play on.
Not sure if region plays a role. I am in eastern Canada so maybe that's it.

i mean i don't doubt he's going to feel a lot better to play but i don't think he's going to be much stronger
they don't really seem to think that having a killer that's all about the 1v1 while being significantly weaker in the 1v4 pressure department than all the other 1v1 killers is flawed design. he's still a ranged killer that's forced to hard commit to a chase because of laceration decay & needing to land 8 knives to get a single injury.
I don't think any reasonable person is going to think he will be a top tier Killer. Unless you can teleport or Pseudo teleport (Spirit), you cannot be a top tier Killer.
People and myself are just happy this Killer will be playable.
-
@OddProvidence said:
Idk what you mean I get games plenty fast unless Iām trying to play late at night and I basically only play survivor. In the daytime finding a survivor match is much faster for me than killer.
Rank plays a large role in this.
I won't assume your rank, but I am speaking strictly for upper Purple/Red ranks where waiting for a Killer in the evening is a 10 min minimum wait.
Daytime survivor is easier to find a match because there are less survivors playing (working, errands, etc.) So it will throw a group together faster. This is true across all ranks.

yeah wait for them to dodge a single knife when he can throw a million.
if they're at 1 knife away from an injury they're not going to be able to dodge enough for it to matter so you keep throwing knives. and no one's going to try dodging when they're not 1 away. it's not like deathslinger where it's do or die.
it's an unnecessary change that's just going to make him feel clunkier
You seem unsatisfied with this buff to Trickster. Your opinion.
I for one am happy with the changes. Perhaps there needs to be more, but I am not going to bemoan this buff just because I didn't get what I wanted.

- Increased wind down grace period from 1 second to 1.25 seconds
why
that's so dumb. like that just doesn't matter. why nerf that.
mostly good changes but they're still being overly cautious because they have no idea what to do with him.
It's probably to prevent the "Deathslinger strats"? Only thing I can think of.
Readying Weapon, wait for them to dodge, then M1. It's a very small increase (0.25 secs)

@Profezia said:
Laceration still not fixed, main event still not fixed.
Like, was it so difficult to allow to have main event active until you WANT to activate it?
Or was it so difficult to make laceration disappear NOT automatically, but after survivor performs some kind of action?
I appreciate recoil&spread buffs, but everything else is definitely not what he needed.
Might want to re-read the notes:
Main Event now allows full normal movement speed AND the recoil and spread is reduced on ALL knives.
Moving at normal speed with accurate knives is a buff.
-
Yay!
-
Because Trickster was a bastardized version of Huntress without any of her lethality.
-
I've used Mad Grit for similar Trapper basement builds. Its been working as intended for me.
Two things I notice though:
-It does pause the wiggle timer for 4 secs, but it takes about 2 .5 secs to recover from a successful hit.
-You can override their wiggle noise and grunts of pain if you swing rapid fire with Mad Grit. It may seem like they stopped wiggling, but they likely didn't.
In your scenario, perhaps someone had Break Out?
-
Sluzzy is my hero.
-
Game will never improve if they don't take risks.
I wish they would be more experimental with buffs and perk changes.
If it doesn't work, revert the change. If it works, expand on it. So many dead perks in this game. It's tragic.

I'm not comparing their powers, I'm comparing how they were seen by the community
The thing with Trickster is even a close range he can deal with the majority of loops in the game, either over the loop or throw through small gaps in walls, and all the killers you listed their power gets shut down the minute they throw down a pallet with the exception of Huntress, and even then he still has his advantages compared to her.
How can you compare their representation to the community without comparing powers? Killers are their power. Their powers are practically the only difference between Killers.
His "Anti-looping" you are taking about is a joke. I don't know what rank you are, but throwing 8 knives over a hedge accurately while they loop you takes an incredibly long time compared to just running the loop with a normal speed Killer.
Anything he can do, another Killer can do 4x better. It's true of every aspect of his kit, sadly.
-
One Killer has to be the worst Killer and it is Trickster without a doubt.
Even the example you provided: You can down them quickly when your in close range. You mean like Leatherface, HillBilly, Huntress and Myers? All of which can do it better and 3/4 of them actually have full MS.
Also, your comparison to Hag, who can teleport isn't comparable.
-
Might want to read Borrowed Time more carefully.

Why is everyone so hell-bent on basekit ricochet? Like it doesn't solve anything about why he's a bad killer. It's such an insignificant idea to buff his kit and yet every single post mentions it like it's the second coming of Jesus.
Yeah I agree. You can't really do "trick" shots with the abysmal tiles in this game. Getting a ricochet hit is literal luck. I don't know why people think this would help Trickster at all.
Play with Trick Blade add on (which allows an additional bounce) and you will see how ho hum ricochet really is.

That little lip at Killer Shack entrance on Dead Dawg Saloon.
You know the one.

It isn't fun.
If you win, it's nice. You get a feeling of satisfaction.
If you lose, you get taunted for the entire game and likely get reminded of it post-game. It's mentally taxing to go through that for multiple games.
I agree with your points.
I am curious to hear your response to this line: "You shouldn't play for kills, you should play for fun"
I hear this touted as a common reply to people on this forum. Doesn't make any sense to me.
-
From my understanding, Coldwind and Haddonfield are next as they are the oldest maps left in the game.
Correct me if I am wrong though.
-
I have a feeling that 24 hour MMR test did not go the way they hoped it would.
Back to square one?

Same.
Still get the same FPS drops/freezes from various status effects (e.g exposed, bloodlust etc.).
I even have a new trigger for FPS drops/freezes.It's whenever a new icon from perks and addons appear on my screen (e.g Prove Thyself,Dying Light etc.)
You know, I heard a lot about the frame drops on Console but I never actually saw a clip.
Damn. That is practically unplayable. I am so sorry to all the console players out there </3
-
I'd love to see your team composition (Keys, BNP, Coldwind offering, etc.) + Survivors ranks compared to Killers before I cast judgement.
With the abysmal state of MMR, I don't blame Killers for occasionally going "Nope" in games.
-
If you really don't want to play the game as Killer, Just stand on the exit gate and tab out.
They can all sweat and hold M1 while you watch videos.
Bonus points if they waste time running around you.
-
Good news but I am still holding my hope to see what the changes actually are.
He needs a lot of adjustments.

A lot of new players struggle with the current struggle mechanics and sometimes unintentionally die on 2nd hook. This at least doesn't instant punish them.
Also this should reduce hook suicides as it's no longer instant.
My boyfriend just started playing and he struggles with PH Cage Skillchecks.
Seems funny to people with lots of hours, but skill-checks can be tough for new players.
preventing suicide or at least delaying it on hook is fine by me.
-
As a veteran player, I am fine with this.
This will disproportionately affect new players that struggle with skill checks though.
Not sure how it would work with "giving up" (Ex: For last survivor to get hatch, etc.).
