  • Unfortunate, but if this means some more much needed changes, all the better.

I would rather more delays and a proper product than a rushed release.

  • Today, I read the words "Victor pouch". I'm dead 😂 @Friendly_Blendette

My only question is why say it now and not on 13th. This is 6 days apart, almost a week ago.

    Why wait ?

    Damage control?

I think its the time taken to confirm they were hacked, finding the exact number of people affected, fixing it, sending it to PR to write a message to the public....

    6 days seems about right.

  • So does this mean lag switching is still possible? Even with dedicated servers? How?

  • I've been a horror fan for many years. My favorites were Clocktower, Haunting Ground, Amnesia and the like. The theme with all of them is that you are helpless in a world of stalkers or monsters.

I enjoy games where you are not the power character (Insert Killer Joke here) and you have to escape.

it's different than a lot of horror games that pile on weapons and combat.

OP is referring to the new-ish offering that reveals the aura of basement hooks at the start of the game. You're thinking of the hatch spawn offering.

At topic: Knowing where the basement is can be important depending on who the killer is. Many killers are a lot more dangerous if they get a basement hook.

If it's Bubba, Trapper, Hag etc you will definitely want to avoid the basement at all times so this offering can come in handy.

Whoops. Read it but my brain processed the other one lol.

I use the basement one for Bubba chest defense. That's it.

  • I really just find the bonus progression another way to tell that Spine Chill is active. The 6% is negligible.

  • I see them every second game.

Common offering + lots of keys recently.

"Survivors moving forward is toxic" just listen to how dumb that sounds.

It sounds very dumb, I agree. Who said that, though? Can you post a link or something?

Is holding W different than survivors moving forward? Please elaborate.

Check page 2 of general discussions if you haven't seen "Survivors holding W" posts. No need for me to link it.

  • Devs say it fine so it will never get changed. Its actually the fifteenth survivor friendly map. So stop complaining /s

I love a certain Dev who thinks lots of things are fine when...they aren't.

  • So sick of even hearing about this sad "debate".

"Survivors moving forward is toxic" just listen to how dumb that sounds.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but some opinions are wrong and frankly ridiculous.

  • Perk changes are nice but that was the smallest issue with the Killer.

Not sure why they didn't reduce the number of knife hits or give base line bouncing blades.

I'll have to see Main Event improvements before I cast total judgement but he's looking weak af.

It isn't fun to miss, but that is something you can absolutely control once you put in decent time with them.. I've been looped around many a tree, and I'll say this, there are practically no spots where you are safe from a victor lunge, barring vaults ran a particular way, such as diagnolly, and he can often compensate with his speed and the fact he has no red stain.

Also, if you know you are going for a bad shot, sometimes it pays to shoot a little more off center but in a good position so if the survivor is feeling particularly ballsy and want to kick you, you'll be at such a range where theomebt they think they can still kick you leads to a free hit... The often misjudge his recovery.

Or if charlotte is here and you have a particular add on, quickly leave his body after the recovery so they can think they are kicking you and get the exposed effect. This surprise DOES work at times, again because the timing of his recovery seems unreliable which works to your benefit.

It is the systematic difference between Twins and literally any other Killer.

I understand your point, there are lots of options for using her power. But say I miss with a Bill chainsaw. I am not suddenly transported across the map as punishment, I can just try again. Twin's are punished two-fold: You need to wait for power to recharge (which albeit is quick) and you need to reposition. Double punishment for a possible reward.

I mained Twins for 3-4 weeks and I had my fun until I realized just how unintuitive their kit really is. I am not even going to go into how some windows create infinites w/ Victor.

  • It's really not fun running Victor across the entire map, attempting a pounce, missing and then being crushed.

A literal waste of all the effort you put in and you are right back where you started.

    Super fun.

  • High risk, high reward.

If your using it, it's the main perk of your build and is usually taken with other perks (Undying). So now you have 2/4 of your perks taken for this. It has potential but that is like saying you can potentially win the lottery.

Competent survivors destroy this perk to the point of it being obsolete. It's gotten a small buff from Undying change, but it is essentially in the same spot where it was. High risk, High reward. Very punishable.

  • It is a glorified participation trophy.

Now you can see numbers go up instead of down.

    Wowie.

  • You are entitled to your own opinion.

There are many different things that are scary than just a hack and slash deformed giant chasing you.

I really like his story and look. It's a classic "looks can be deceiving" type of Killer. Not to mention the survivors story is incredibly dark. Ignoring obvious warning signs to further your career and sacrificing morality for success.

Really cool chapter idea with unique spins on horror. Last chapter was body horror with Twins, this is more psychological imo.

  • Flip Flop is less consistent but it has more synergy with other perks.

You can just be picked up right away and Flip Flop is essentially useless. On the other hand, it is more satisfying when you have those clutch moments.

I think FF will be stronger than DS after nerf. Right now though, DS is more consistent.

It's awful on their part that they don't say that they've done those changes to them and be silent.

It's odd I agree, but the changes aren't really significant enough to really change anything about Twins.

They are still a jank mess, with slugging and proxy camping being their best strategy.

They will need a complete rework (IMO) to bring that Killer on par with the rest of them.

  • They made some ghost updates to Twins last update.

    This includes:

    -Smoother transition when unbinding Victor

-Smoother transition when attaching Victor to a healthy survivor

-You now see Victor's aura for 2.5 secs after attaching to a healthy survivor

-You can now control your camera and look around when awakening from Charlotte's idle state.

That is about it. Mostly just QoL improvements but it is nice nonetheless.

  • Play a single game as Killer, even for a lul, and see what happens.

There is a reason queue times are the way they are. Killer's are sick of being called names and bullied for just playing the game.

  • I am glad there is no new map.

I would rather them focus on the maps we already have, rather than introduce an entirely new, broken map.

    New survivor: Mildred Mcmanus

Speed 75% of normal survivor run speed.

    Perks:

Life alert: once per match when downed can summon assistance to go back to wounded state. Works like unbreakable, but you have to wait for the phantom ambulance to arrive

Handbag with a brick in it: 1 minute cool down 5 second stun when facing the killer.

    Respect your elders:

Passive, when running within 5 meters of another survivor, they are compelled to lag behind and take the protection hit.

    Im dying AHAHAHA

  • I don't think you can place traps that close to the gens, but you can do this with the exit gates.

  • I do not exactly feel good about it but...

If I go on the hook after running the Killer for 3 minutes and people are messing around with chests, self-caring in the corner or what have you, I am out. No sense in wasting my time when the rest of the team doesn't care either.

Someone said it perfectly in a previous post: There needs to be incentive to stay in the games, not more punishments.

  • Ehhh. No. It's not overpowered. Annoying, maybe.

You need to stalk 3 survivors fully then a little bit of the 4th to get to T3. All while only having half a power (lower TR, slightly increased vault).

I can see it being annoying on small maps hearing the T3 TR all the time, but it's not OP. In fact, I actually like Michael's add-ons because they actually feel like you are really modifying your power.

I wish more add-ons were like The Shape's, albeit tuned to the individual Killer.

  • Likely Stridor 99% of the time, but I have had some buggy Iron Will occurrences, like after using DS once.

Granted, this was many months ago so it might have been a sweeping audio issue

  • The Red Nun from Remothered:Tormented Fathers.

Creepy + the game had amazing music.

  • They want you to be able to read player's entire name.

God forbid if we cannot read "xXx420smokedakush69xXx"

  • @brokedownpalace said:

    Well said.

  • Charlotte able to camp too easily*

    Fixed that for you :)

  • It's been asked before so I won't even waste my breath but something something Game Health. You fill in the rest.

Their own schedule is them tightening their noose. They are now held to such a schedule that they do not have the proper time allowed to fix the changes and bugs that always happen after a patch, big or small, chapter or mid- chapter. It has been said many times as soon as a patch or chapter is released, the next is already being worked on.

An endless cycle of catch-up is being played out as we speak with the recent update patch fixes while a new chapter announcement is imminent.

I feel bad for them on one hand because it sucks to always be one step behind. On the other though," penny wise, pound foolish "

  • Hawkin's has a lot of pallets, but the areas they appear are usually tight and confined, making mind games possible.

The Game is literally just all safe pallets. No option but to break.

  • The gen in the dead zone of Autowreckers Yard.

    You know the one.

  • This is good. Thank you Bhvr! I am glad they are communicating quicker this time.

The silence after Binding of Kin was unacceptable.

Still going to wait for the actual results but it is at least reassuring to know they are acknowledging the community.

Very small amount huh? Tell that to people who get hackers almost every game. Not mentioning names but you probably know who they are

I acknowledged that Hackers need to be dealt with. I don't get hackers every game. My two friends don't get hackers every day. I feel bad for the people who claim to run into hackers every game. It must really suck.

But you have to acknowledge that this is a different issue, that affects everyone, not just the victims of hackers. I am not saying one is more important than the other, but that one affects more people than the other.

  • Hackers affect a very, very small amount of games.

The UI change is universal for every player.

Hackers and exploits do need to be addressed, but the UI is getting the attention because of above.

  • The problem is no one asked for this to be changed.

There are so, SO many things this game needs. The UI was not one of them.

It looks hideous. And trying to discern the bars (Hook bar, bleed out, etc.) is very difficult. The Red-on-red exhaustion meter is annoying too.

  • To apologize like that is to admit they made a mistake.

That is not going to happen. They are already doubling-down on the UI change with not_queen saying "we cannot go back".

EDIT: They are looking into this as of latest news. Glad to hear.

  • You get some auric cells back progressing the paid rift, but not many. I don't have the numbers for you.

Guy above is correct: It is much too grindy to be worth spending money on. Just another cash grab.

Also, the "exclusive" skins from this rift are available for purchase after 6 months.

You only put it down if you're bored. You find a new game(hard to find good n ew games due to the corona crisis) once you are tired of that game you'll search for something new. The reason you come back to dbd is mainly b ecause you spend alot of hours into it and you dont wanna see it beeing "wasted".

I took a break to play wow classic, came back after a year and half cause no other games got my intrest. I came back cause i could pick it up fairly fast cause i spended alot of time in this already. Its that simple.

    Everyone is different.

I too played WoW Classic for a good chunk of time. I put that down as well because it got boring and also the bot problem got too sever. Funny; lack of communication and response with that game caused me to leave too.

Time investment to some might be a factor with playing. It's not with me. All video games are technically a waste of time; so trying to qualify that further is a moot point.

Like I said, I love DbD but there is simply a limit to what I can tolerate. This isn't dogma; if they make some promising changes and updates I will reconsider my position but for now I need a break.

  • Speak for yourself.

There is only so much reasonable flaws someone can take with a video game.

I love Dead by Daylight and have played it since 2017. But there is only so many changes, bugs and issues that one can tolerate.

I know the Devs are good people, but their direction and frankly arrogance at this point is tiring. Some REALLY questionable decisions keep happening and it gets progressively harder and harder to forgive and move on.

The guy above it right. It starts with a break, you put the game down and one day you simply never pick it up again.

  • Yeah tends to happen when the Dev's make the game virtually unplayable overnight.

Not just talking about terrible UI either. Hitboxes, broken Killers (plague), broken maps + bugs bugs bugs.

I'm taking a break . And no it's not some grandstand message to the Dev's. just verging into the "I'm tired" state.

  • It is basically a glorified participation trophy. Now when there is a 4 man escape and they are T-bagging at the exit gate, you have a nifty hook counter to say "Well at least you hooked people X times. Good for you!"

If it changes nothing about the game, or gives any real info, it's simply dead space and yet another feature no one asked for.

  • @PGJSF said:

I disagree. Devs need to see the rage, or they’ll never understand how big they messed up.

We need a verified Twitter user to comment on the new patch. THEN they might understand...Or at least react.

  • I have been hit through Pallets multiple times, dropped pallets with a Killer Stun and still get hit.

Just another reason this update is shiet

  • I mained Twins for about 3 weeks on release.

Cool design and art, but really boring gameplay. For both the player and the Survivors.

I expected Victor to be more of an "extension" of Charlotte. The pounce mechanic is very janky and punishing.

All in all, just very boring. Likely the reason you aren't seeing any of them.

  • Great that it is finally being worked on.

Not so great that it took a developer from another game company Tweeting about the flippancy of Almo's response to get anything done.

  • If I wait out DS by letting them slug for 50+ secs, I will almost always get one salty person.
