I think it's a good first step to listening to player feedback.

Oh you sweet sweet summer child

Still gotta have some hope or I would have put this game down for good long ago.

At least they acknowledged people don't like it and that there are reasons for that worth looking into. That's something at least.

I agree with you, better than absolutely nothing.

My issue is that they do not give stats out as they know we will interpret them either the wrong way or without context. Yet, the Dev's (sometimes) go about touting random facts like this...and provide no interpretation or context. How are we supposed to react to this?

So on one hand, they know Haddonfield is "not fun" but then come back at us with a dismissive "Well actually it's not even that bad".

I cannot be the only one seeing this double-talk.

  • According to Almo, it is the fifteenth most survivor sided map. Stats strike again.

He has yet to explain what "survivor-sided" means or what they use as metrics for that...

I like the idea of the player satisfaction survey's but I feel they make absolutely no difference to the game.

The example I always give is the fact that between tomes 2 and 3 they brought out a survey about the tomes. They basically asked what would we like from future tomes. I would bet my life people weren't asking for 25 charms per tome. Bearing in mind stuff like bloodpoint bonuses and shards were other options.

    Agreed.

People likely asked for more "Free cosmetics" in that rift survey, considering they have more than enough cosmetics to throw a freebie out every now and again. I don't mean rift grinds or Shards either, I mean free.

They likely warp feedback to suit their own needs. "You guys want free? Here are some crappy charms no one wants...but its free!"

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

My favourite question of all surveys ever was if we thought that the last events were special 🤣

That one gave me a real good laugh

I thought that was funny too.

You know what makes everyone feel special? Knowing they are being heard. Lol

  • They (survivors) want a defense against tunneling, which is fair and no one would argue that.

The issue is the "weaponized" DS/Unbreakable combo, which gives you 60 secs of invulnerability. Jumping in lockers, staying on Gens, etc. Slugging is only partially effective.

The problem between these is not everyone weaponizes DS, they use it to stay in the game longer.

A huge problem with this community is the disparity between high rank games and the lower-ranked games. What some survivors may not see as a problem, becomes a huge issue at high ranks.

  • Wanting people to be silenced because you personally don't like it.

No thanks. Here is an idea: Don't read the articles you don't want to read.

  • Aha saying stuff you (the Developer) don't like to hear equals bullying.

Omg would you just shut up your not getting banned for discussion stuff they never finished or is being worked on your only going to get banned if you harass and insult people or break the rules your not breaking any rules

It was a joke regarding Almo's recent upload and him being tired of hearing about Colorblind issues.

Try not to take clearly hyperbolic statements too seriously. You will wear yourself out.

  • I wonder if it's being dumped into the same shallow grave as console optimization, Blight PoV and colorblind options.

Opps I said the forbidden word "colorblind" pls don't ban :(

  • I'd like to see a revert back to when they cared about feedback and improving the game health instead of the cosmetic push.

  • If you think it is bad now...

    Boy o boy. @Remindme in 3 weeks.

  • Vomittina will always be my most appreciated Killer.

Hatchets are cool, I guess. But weaponized blood puke is the real winner.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

The same tired discussion responses are going to be posted, just so you know.

    "but I want blood points"

"They are just being toxic don't let it get to you"

"I don't see what's so toxic about that?"

    "Grow a thicker skin!"

"but I am just being friendly!"

    "Well stop camping/tunelling/etc"

"I am waiting for ___ person"

    "Something about EGC"

"It's a free hit so why are you complaining?"

"is it THAT hard to just make them leave it takes seconds"

    "I am just celebrating"

You get the point. This discussion has been done so many times it never amounts to anything productive I am sorry to say. Someone is going to say something akin to one of those lines, and it's going to change into a discussion about an entirely different topic lol.

EDIT: hey we can play bingo like this....

I see you retired Demo picture </3

  • The horrid buggy launch played a big part of it too. Kills all hype for the Killer or the desire to continue playing them when they are released in such a state.

Then we finally do get to play her and she is just....meh. I loved the concept and art, but the execution is just lacking.

I pictured Victor being an extension of Charlotte, not some gimmicky Pounce mechanic that is very frustrating to use.

Another Killer once again disproportionately affected by poor map design.

  • Greed changes people. I'll leave this video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmBZ33GMbs0&t=2s

Since cosmetics, and the $$$ started rolling in, transparency has flown out the window.

Currently my queues are instant on both sides so sucks to be you I guess

That's nice. Let me know when you are Rank 1.

  • @Mandy said:

I have absolutely no problems with queue times. My survivor ones are pretty much instant and my killer ones are currently taking a minute or two.

Queue times seem to be very dependent on your rank/location/time of day so the majority of people are not having an issue with their queues.

Glad to hear your queue times are fine Mandy.

I get you can only speak on your individual experience, but it is just disingenuous and frankly dismissive to say "people having queue issues are a minority" . They are introducing the new MMR system (which we still have no clue how its going to work) for a reason. There is obviously a problem.

Maybe not with you, sure, but there are a lot of people being affected.

it shouldn't be like that i feel if you already have a full lobby and just need to find a killer.

Have you ever considered the question "Why people aren't playing Killer?" The question also extends to yourself; as you could easily switch to playing Killer and get 20 sec queue time.

No? You don't want to play Killer? Explain why.

    There is your answer.

  • @Mr_K said:

These dry spells occur for both sides. The pendulum is just currently on the survivor side. A year ago, killer queues were the ones taking forever.

I agree, but there is something different about this round of "dry-spell". Maybe I am wrong but there is a large apathy with almost all Killer players I have spoken with. Not to mention a lot of Killer main content creators are really starting to feel the grind and dropping off.

I want the game to be the best it can be. If that means survivors need to suffer to spur action, so be it.

  • @Minaaa said:

Word of warning - You need 4 survivors and just 1 killer to play DBD.

If this game continues to overwhelmingly favour killers it will die.

The only way survivors stand a chance is if they have a swf, in solo queue you are just meat for killers to have fun with.

Hex Ruin, Hex Undying, Noed, Face camping, Tunnelling, insane red add-ons, etc, etc, etc....

I challenge Behaviour Interactive to release their stats on how often killers get a 4k vs 4 survivors escaping (across all ranks). We all know who those stats are going to favour.

Is this high-quality bait or just a rank 18 squealing?

  • @SasukeKun said:

9 minutes and up to find a lobby on survivor? What was the point of dedicated servers and adjustments this and that to ranked matchmaking, ( and CROSS PLAY) if its still same. Disappointing..or rather a reason is because nobody wants to play killer cuz this games survivor sided asf

Don't worry, the new MMR system will fix everything! Now the precious survivors will get to go against a Killer with 10 minutes of game time. Dev's see queue times have gone down. Everyone wins!

Eh? Killer's are suffering? What are Killers?

  • It is random. Depending on the amount of gens done and survivors left, you will be able to see the closed hatch.

There are offerings that make it more likely to spawn near main building or shack as well. Map with Black Cord or Pink Map will allow you to "track" the hatch as well.

    Good luck.

  • Perk has wayyy too many restrictions and requirements for it to ever be meta. Compare the perk to Inner Strength that was released in the same chapter.

  • Yeah watch Otz if you want some really good tips.

Don't spread your traps out too much. Pick a good spot on the map and set up around it. Try to chase survivors there.

if you spread out too far, not only will it be difficult to collect disarmed traps later, but you will likely not get to a trapped survivor in time.

  • Because they do not want to customize any perks to work in tandem with Killer Powers. Same reason all those perks have basic attack requirements now as well.

Just another lazy dev move. They cite "Well we don't want [PERK] to trigger off of (Bear Trap, Plague Puke) so instead of making exceptions for some Killers, we just gut the whole perk. Much easier (for us)"

Hilariously, they quote Knock Out and say "We don't want it to trigger on bear trap or deep wounds.." Umm.... Who goes down to deep wounds?? And even if you did go to DYING state on a bear trap (Rare add-on), you still saw where they stepped on it.

As I said, just more dev laziness.

  • To remove the basic attack requirement, that would require WORK. We all know they work when they feel like it.

They have said to remove basic attack requirements, they would have to tailor the perk to accommodate every Killer power.

  • My only complaint is the prestige Nurse looks pretty meh with new model.

    Besides that, looks great.

  • I get there are a lot of posts, and I agree it can be excessive. Keep in mind this is just day one and two. The posts (and PTB population) will die down in a couple of days.

On the other hand, I am glad people are voicing their displeasure.

  • Ahh. I forgot about this.

Likely in the data graveyard with Bloodlust experiment. For some reason, they like to tell us these studies are happening, but then never tell us the results or any info whatsoever.

It is getting sad and tragic at this point.

  • You mean like run perkless survivors and perkless/add-on-less Killer?

Sure, you could do that test but it wouldn't really prove or disprove anything. Even players with 5 mins in the game get a base perk from whatever survivor/Killer they choose. Right from the start, you would be fudging the numbers doing a test like this.

There were tournaments done (not a test, but as close as this is going to get) and the Killer gets demolished unless they play Nurse. Even then, it is a tough game.

  • The reason is the Devs are lazy. If you have ever experienced a bout of laziness, you will know that the longer you remain sedentary, the harder it is to spur yourself into action. There is no competition to the game, so they are simply required to do the bare minimum.

It was also revealed on a Dev stream they can basically "work when they want".

Multiple this problem by oh give or take 3 years and here we are.

  • Another post the Devs will ignore :) Least they comment on Fixated and "Legion is fine" related posts.

  • Survivors look like they are running to the bathroom while injured. ahhaa

  • As @chieften333 said, there are two known fat-shaming spots on Pale Rose, creating infinites for Survivors only.

    Map is still not disabled.

  • Known visual bug since last patch. Hopefully will be removed next patch.

  • @Shirokinukatsukami said:

Okay I won't. A lot of killer perks aren't "counterable" either they can only be mitigated. They don't get touched either because they don't need to be. BBQ cannot be countered as you say only "mitigated" as you say. And its been that way for a lot longer than current DS.

DS and Unbreakable isn't invincible, what kind of silly argument is that. If DS+Unbreakable were invincible we'd have a 100% survivor escape rate.

Your bias is showing, thus everything you say holds virtually no value. You are a very small minority that believes there is no problem with DS/Unbreakable. Thankfully, most people have the mental capacity to see both sides and understand that there is a problem with these perks.

Even the Dev's have acknowledged it, they just do not know how to fix it yet. So you disagree with both the Devs and majority of the community? Just want to clarify.

  • Because they are terrified of upsetting their survivors player base.

I can't even call this Trapper change a buff since the only benefit to Trapper is survivors are unlikely to escape on the first attempt, which everyone considered BS anyways.

  • When they refuse to answer questions about it, it is either scrapped or they have no clue what to do.

DS/Unbreakable, Early Game mechanic, Console optimization, etc.

  • I'd get that checked out.

While I am not a fan of the Autohaven green tint, it doesn't cause me any headaches.

In fact, I find the reworked MacMillian and Ormand easier on the eyes. Pre-Shelter woods was an eye strain.

  • "So this perk is like a Nurse of survivor perks:"

I'm still laughing. Yeah, I get it I used to be a greenhorn too, back when DS didn't require getting hooked. But those two things are not even comparable.

Does anyone remember when they even considered making the skillcheck so huge you couldn't miss it? It was in a Dev Stream. Thankfully, someone put some smelling salts under their noses and woke them up from their fever-coma.

Don't run DS if you cannot hit skillchecks. Simple enough.

  • @Aztreonam78 said:

If it is a Nurse with god-like precision, she can breakthrough Borrowed Time with no problem. Here is why Decisive is needed, though even with both of them Amazing Nurses can eliminate your very quickly if they want.

I respect what you mean, but a good Nurse ignores all Survivor mechanics and perks. She can even just eat DS and still catch up. Nurse is the exception to almost every rule.

  • I am 100% certain they will ignore all feedback about the UI being cluttered and push it out anyways.

They like to say catch-words like "this is a work in progress" as if that means anything. Same things they have said about console optimization, Early Game Set Up, and problematic perks.

No one asked for UI changes. But here we are. Are they really going to back down and say "You're right, it was a mistake" or double-down?

    I have my suspicions.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

I am a long time killer and I simply do not understand how so many killers can get upset about DS.

The devs won’t change it because the survivor can only use it ONCE. This means the absolute MAXIMUM amount of times a killer can be stunned by it is 4.

Just eat the stun. It’s really not that crippling. That survivor is now vulnerable for the remainder of the trial.

Used to respect you as a Killer main until this moment. You clearly do not understand the time-gain DS gives. It is a 5 sec time gain if the survivors just sits beside you after stunning you.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1862470#Comment_1862470

It is not "almost the entire Map", it is the entire Map. 128 meters are more than enough to cover every Map in the game. Like Empathy used to be with unlimited Range, but for consistency they changed it, but it did not change the Perk at all.

    @Topic:

Aside from those 128m-Restrictions, I feel that BHVR is too scared to bring out strong Perks. Killer is a little bit better since Perks can be used on SOME Killers, but for Survivor, the last Meta-Perk is some years ago, if we dont consider Mettle of Man.

On the other hand, it is easier to buff something which was too weak than to nerf something which was too strong.

Yeah, 128 M is practically the entire map. Furthers my point, why bother add this restriction?

Good points on nerfing/buffing. They are scared of making strong perks. Not sure why. Buffing these niche perks will still never make them meta (unless it is an entire perk rework) but at least it would make them more tempting/useable.

  • It is to show the Killer is "making progress" and not losing despite hooking everyone twice.

They still all escape, but least you got 8 hooks!

  • Because it is easier and safer to simply buff the numbers to irrelevant perks than actually make significant balance changes.

That's not for certain. They could have mentioned the bugs that they were fixing, but they chose not to. The same could apply to this.

Why wouldn't they mention something that a lot of people are looking forward to?

It is not coming this patch. They have said multiple times it is a complex issue that requires a lot of work to fix. We will be told about it when it happen, I can almost guarantee.

  • It will likely be a ghost nerf, just like mori's.

If they told everyone the nerfs were coming at X date, you would see a key every single game.

    I'd rather not.

  • It won't be. Sorry.

They would have mentioned it in the Dev Diary.
