It being a horror game doesn’t have anything to do with it.
this horror game has a great diversity of characters as is, there are plenty of topics that don’t impact gameplay at all. There is no need for LGBTQ+ exclusion when we have heterosexuality, and pretty much everything else in the lore.
it’s the devs‘ game and their Storys. They think it fits so it does fit.

Felix kid doesn’t have anything to do with him having a female partner.
David‘s story with his female ex is almost as current as Felix.
thing is, heterosexuality didn’t have a reason in these cases.

Reason is: the devs want to create that character and want to tell their story.
there actually is no reason why Felix had to have a girlfriend/wife, the story could have been told gender neutral. You can become a father in a same sex relationship as well. They could have told it like that „he and his partner decided they want to start a family with a baby“ etc.
but it’s okay that the story got told the way it was. It makes it more natural and believable. Excluding the gender of the partner would have felt forced.

Other cosmetics may be added in the files already but they get added to the store later or are part of the rift.

yeah it’s just about equal treatment.
if they never mentioned heterosexual relationships it would be fine to also not mention LGBT+ relationships. But they have multiple times while excluding LGBT+.
its obvious that those mentioned don’t define their characters, they can still be bi or even gay or straight, the thing is -if that is the case- why should it be explicitly excluded from the lore?
also it’s really sad that there are so many arguments against it: it’s political (so are Zarinas and Yuis story’s, and being LGBT+ isn’t even political to begin with), it doesn’t impact gameplay (nothing on the lore impacts gameplay), sexuality has no place in a videogame/horror game (we already have heterosexuality and horror has always been heavily tied with sexuality), devs were pushed/forced (they already have stated multiple times it’s not the case, they changes their point of view on it freely)
the question here should be: why is LGBTQ+ Inclusion really a problem for some people? It doesn’t hurt anyone. Except maybe those that live in a country that might censor this, but even then, it happened before and that shouldn’t be a reason for exclusion everywhere.

i have seen it way too often that people speculate and overhype themselves and if it doesn’t turn out true they are blaming the devs..
i would have liked the young Bill cosmetic as well (and do not care about the actual one we are getting..), and the devs could have made better advertisement. But there is no reason to blame them like it is done in this thread.

While I think it never suited Claudette anyway… the delay feels really unnecessary now.
i don’t know why she even won, was this solely community voted? I think there should have been a pre selection on what is even possible and looking at the result that cosmetic was not possible..

LOL. It's always the same in this forum, that's why I don't participate. Everytime I try to expose some concern to devs, there are a lot of acollytes trying to ridiculize me or take away my criteria. Thanks God not every DbD player are conformist or this game would never get better.
Everybody can read that Twitter thread, there are a lot of comments from people hyped about that younger Bill skin.
To be fair, you could have formulated your critique a little bit more mature instead of being so whiney.

Candyman comes to mind with bees but I would also very much like to see an original BHVR killer for this.

They said this quarter. They couldn’t confirm early this quarter though they aimed at April.
I guess at this point there will be an announcement on the anniversary stream, probably/hopefully Switch cross progression coming at the latest with the anniversary chapter.

It is inconsistent. I used the word "hawkins" twice in just one end game chat and it was censured once, and the other time was fine. Sometimes even using typing it hawkins vs Hawkins it can get censured or not.

the system was also confirmed to be adjusting, getting harsher the more you use filtered words. Myers for example was proven to not get filtered by multiple people.

It’s been confirmed by a mod that this is not intentional behavior and the team will adjust the filter to never filter out names of character and such.

It was already stated that the filter will be adjusted to let character names through.
they are actively working on improving it.

I was coming to post this lol.
The other connection is that the ‘5’ looks a similar shape to some of the weapons the village folk use in RE4. So the chapter could possibly be Leon + something from RE4?
I also thought immediately about a sickle (weapon from the village people) or a hook of some sorts..
but I don’t think they are doing the same thing with the number twice in a row. Not even sure they want to hint at anything, speculation and hype is pretty high already because it’s confirmed to be RE..

No, just retcon the parts of the lore that mention relationships so people can insert or speculate whatever they want. I mean sex is part of someones private life and what they do in private. it is very clear they have widened their focus on backstory of character. The backstories of new characters are more fleshed out than the originals and all of them get lengthy archive stories that feature many different relationships to other people.
they would have sooner or later added romantical or even sexual relationships no matter what. We know a good part of the devs from streams and videos etc and we know they are diversive and open-minded and inclusive.
let them do with their medium what they want to do with it. Speak up if you want to criticize something of course. They are only human beings after all and make mistakes. They might change their point of view and act on it. But don’t demand them to change just because you don’t like LGBTQ+ inclusion.
imagination and fanfic doesn’t get hindered by that. You can still think your David is heterosexual or not defined even if he gets a homosexual relationship added in a Tome. We also still have that multiverse that even explains why there can be multiple of the same char kn one match after all. There could theoretically be a killer and survivor char of the same character..

Gender politics does indeed have to do with it, "if you like it or not". TC, judging by their word choice in later replies, sounds like one of those people and this subject is innately tied to politics due to a political party claiming to be fighting for minorities.

especially Friday 13th, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream. Not sure on Texas Chainsaw Massacre though. Others as well of course but I think we can agree those are the big ones. Pretty sure all of them have horny teens that have sex all the time. Scream especially plays with it as it kind of is a parody of the slasher genre. In later installments, they also have gay representation.

the horror and especially slasher genre has had strong ties with sexuality since the very beginning. It does belong, if you like it or not.
making the inclusion vague just like they have made heterosexual relations is pretty much all people are asking for. Just a mention of a Same-Sex relationship or something in that direction.

Actually, you're wrong. Representation has two purposes, to provide comfort and to provide cultural change. If representation is widespread enough across a lot of media it can genuinely change people's views on things. Steven Universe, despite its many flaws, is one of the shows that aim to make the current children a lot more tolerant.
It also provides comfort in the form of humanising people. I went a load of my life being nulled at school + abused at home cause I was gay. I was made to feel like I wasn't even human, like I was intrinsically flawed and didn't deserve to live. Take a guess where that went.
Representation could've and probably would've helped stop this... Downward spiral.

Yeah, I'm not triggered by it. I just want equal treatment, as do a lot of people. As it too much to aks to be treated the same as anyone else? Apparently so.
And yeah I have a load of unresolved issues. All of which can be traced back to me being bullied. All of which could've been stopped through proper representation and tolerance.
