I think co-op between survivors has been nerfed and discouraged above and beyond the call of duty. Enough is enough. There is no need to nerf it further.
Devs are doing this the wrong way. I certainly would rather they reversed all the nerfs to co-op play (and rework Discordance) and just flat out mulitpily the amount of charges needed to fix generators by a factor of 4. Seriously. I'd take that over all the nerfs that limit gameplay and tactics and force certain playstyles,
They are pushing way too hard to make the game solo lone wolf looper survivors and nothing else.

Been hearing about this a lot on the Steam boards. I have been trying to replicate it but to no avail. And I seriously go to the basement every game, unless I get caught away from the basement early on.

No Mither can be viewed as cocky perk, just like OoO."I dont need 2 health stages to beat you" so maybe thats why you got camped?
Killers just getting triggered for all the wrong reasons if that's the case. Pretty sure he got camped because he wasted her time for 3 gens.
I sometimes run this build too for fun when I want to be productive. It's the only way to reliably proc Success Kid I mean Resilience from the start.

I would actually rather slow down the game, aren't we trying to slow games down?

I absolutely LOVE the buffs to Prove Thyself and Leader. Combined with Bond my Dwight is an efficiency machine. I can go around locating other survivors on gens or who are injured and get stuff done quick smart. Plus that blood points boost on Prove Thyself is really nice.Dwight is a rare survivor where are 3 perks are really useful.
Sorry dude, but the Leader changes are a NERF. They are not a buff.
Who tags along to give buffs to someone for cleansing totems, sabotage and searching chests? These are solo actions and you being there is you twiddling your thumbs watching someone do work when you could be doing something else that's productive. And worse, you don't get any emblem or bloodpoints for it because you're, yup, not doing anything.
The only activities where leader is helpful are: group unhooks (something that needs to be done against campers), healing (which doesn't happen that often, ask that Initiation Rite sitting in your dailies how many seconds of co-op healing you've done in the past month), opening exit gates (and again you sacrifice points for opening the exit game to let someone else do it, because that's more efficient), and yes! Doing generators. Oh I forgot, leader doesn't work on generators anymore.
Leader is now a trash perk. It was already off-meta but with the introduction of Discordance and now the absolute nerf it got, it's trash.
-
The real use of Prove Thyself isn't the boost to generators (which is laughable at best -- people say Thanatophobia is bad and it's basically the same thing).
The real reason to run Prove Thyself is for the BP boost.

good god you're toxic. MLGA is for people who are trying to enhance/better their matchmaking experience and no it's not bannable.
You using MLGA makes a "better" experience for yourself at the cost of making things worse for everyone else.
I am 100% against MLGA and the special snowflake people who can't bear to play the game like everyone else.

Or we could just remove hatch grabbing and add a closing mechanic. A survivor can't jump in a closing hatch. No stand off, no worries. It's a race. That's a nonsense idea. The killer has a huge advantage in closing the hatch, because he probably already found it just walking around the map. In most cases the killer will close the hatch first, making it a useless mechanic.

Who cares if a survivor who hid in the locker the entire game gets the hatch?
He still de-pipped, and got what 8k bloodpoints tops?
It's not a big deal.

You're a real piece of work.BlackViperCom said:BBQ auras should not be blocked by the generators/made a different color, etc. Every survivor whines about "camping", yet with "smart" survivors hiding behind the generators or high ranking people with 3 low rank bodyguards within 12 meters at all times, it kinda make BBQ slightly a joke as the whole point of the perk is to cycle through people to gain points and NOT camp!
Ya know what the best solution that I can offer those survivors that do not like to be tunneled and camped?
DON'T GET CAUGHT! LOL!!!

Thanks for listening (and fix BBQ devs...)!
You want Survivors to always show up when BBQ procs, then you tell them not to get caught. How do you expect us not to get caught? Of course, we HIDE before you hook someone. DUH.
Classic case of wanting your cake and eating it too. Stop contradicting yourself and wanting it both ways.
Also, Gens *ALREADY* blocked Survivor Auras before 2.5. You could hide behind gens, apparently it took you this long to notice.

I expected this.

Camping doesn't skew the stats. They ARE part of the stats.
Pretending that camping doesn't exist is like saying a population census shouldn't have so many kids, if only people would stop having sex. No matter how much you tell them not to do it, people will camp/have sex. This is the whole, stop denying it.
The game is heavily stacked against killers, camping just skews the stats?
Like saying India is not overpopulated, people just keep having sex.Nonsense argument.
If people aren't supposed to go after camped hooks, then it just should be taken out of the game. It's poor game design to allow it to happen if it's not supposed to be allowed. Better yet, camping should just be taken out of the game. I mean camping shouldn't be taken into consideration for balance either, right? Where do we draw the line? Maybe hitting the survivor shouldn't be taken into consideration either.
-
The quality of life. Alt F4 means you go baci to desktop and restart the game. A cancel or timeout saves you all that loading..
-
I mean for those that want the prestige and can handle it, it's good.
For those that don't want to deal with SWF groups, it helps them dodge them.
Can even make it that 4-man SWF at Rank 1 can only go up against EX ranks, so if there's not enough killers supply and demand will sort it out and 4-man groups would have to wait a while in the lobby.I see it as a win for almost everyone.
-
I have had killers dodge the moment I join. I don't know why. Was my ping so bad they had a heart attack?
It does't happen that often but it happens often enough. Maybe once every 10 games.
On my end, I dodge when the ping is more than 300. I can't play at that ping. If it doens't rubberband like hell, everything I do is delayed, huge disadvantage. Like, I can't even unhook people properly 300, and it's almost impossible to go for a Borrowed Time unhook at 400 because the killer will just pick you up.
Something as simple as pressing left click to heal an injured teammate is awkward and takes a few seconds to do at 200 - 300 ping.
-
I need to figure out how to do this so I can avoid dying more. Thanks for the tip.
-
Delay sounds good. I don't need to see it in real time. The important thing is I can review it so I learn the style and technique the killer used to kill me.
I hope a replay gets implemented once we have Dedicated Servers. Being able to see how he caught me is even better.
-
It's ridiculous how they can't fix such a simple thing. At least give us a freaking cancel button so we can get out of the load screen.
-
First: doesn't happen every game. Every killer pretending this is common is delusional.
Second: doctor let Laurie take him for a loop. That's his mistake.
Third: Just because some popular streamer (I don't know who this is) gets wrecked it doesn't mean the other side is OP. Streamers are so annoying because they poison the minds of the community, but they are also good because at least they help grow the game. Still, stop letting streamers brainwash you.
Fourth: There is no best player in the world. Everyone makes mistakes. There's a killer or a group of survivors out there who will outplay you. And it happens. There is also a good element of luck and randomness in this game as well, it's not 100% skill. When the perfect storm happens, a super genrush can occur. That is both the killer's fault for making mistakes, a pat on the back for the survivors for doing exactly what needed to be done, and luck in how things turned out.
Fifth: If survivors are really OP at the highest levels, who the hell cares. Survivors at the lower ranks aren't playing as good as that. This is just how the game is right now. Deal with it.Lastly, if these threads are getting closed then there's some censorship going on, boo on that to the moderators.

The rest are only important perks because 90% of the other survivor perks are #########.
Is Urban Evasion or Self Care sweaty?Urban immersion is sweaty especially on P3 claudette, plus sprint burst, the most sweaty and annoying exhaustion perk in the game
So even Urban Evasion is a taboo perk now?

This is 100% false. I played some 200 hours last month. I only got up to Rank 10, and I kept de-piping and de-ranking up to Rank 15. I would fluctuate from 10 to 15 throughout the month.
There is a skill element involved, and I don't have it. Good players can get to rank 1. Shrubs like me, can't.
Maybe people like you who have 1,000 or more hours can do it. I certainly can't.

I used to want to DC every time I heard Freddy's song. The guy was seriously frustrating to go against for a long time until I figured out how to play against him. I lost to him every time and couldn't beat him until around 200 hours in.

Use Calm Spirit.Use calm spirit now. Really? Let's look at the four-way quadrant analysis for this.
Killer has Spies, Surivor has Calm = No advantage
Killer has no Spies, Surivor has no Calm = No advantage
Killer has Spies, Surivor has no Calm = Survivor gets hooked
Killer has no Spies, Surivor has Calm = Survivor wastes a perk slotNo. This is lopsided in killer's favor. This is the case with most killer detection perks against Survivor stealth play. Simply having the option for killers to find you in a certain way, means that you always have to play in a certain way or you get found.
Killer downs a survivor? You need to head to a locker ASAP or get closer, because he might have BBQ.
Teammate about to finish a gen? Head to locker ASAP, he might have Bitter Murmur.
Two of you doing a gen? Think again he might have Discordance.
You injured and need to heal with killer nearby? Think again, he might have Nurse's calling.
etc.
etc.
etc. There are so many things you need to worry about and play around, that I can understand why survivors say "screw stealth" and just focus on looping.
It's because it's just not worth it to stealth anymore.

For most maps this isn’t a problem at all, because the crows are often in pretty obscure spots. There are some exceptions like Lerry’s where there’s often a crow next to a Gen or two.
But even so, just because a perk is stronger on one map than others, doesn’t mean it needs adjustments.
If a perk makes it impossible to do a generator without being seen by the killer if he's close by, then something needs to be fixed.
The game is heading in a direction where it's soon going to be impossible to be hidden from the killer. This is not good and this is one such potential game-balance-breaking issue. Game should not be balanced around 4-man pro SWF teams, it will decimate this game's playerbase, mark my words.

Use Calm Spirit."Just use calm spirit."
Here's the thing about killer perks/addons and survivors perks/addons. Killers have an advantage when their overall range of abilities is extended. Why? Because Killers have the potential to end a survivor's night on one mistake.
Look at these 4 scenarios:
Killer has Spies. Survivor has Calm. = no advantage
Killer has no Spies. Survivor has no Spies = no advantage.
Killer has Spies. Surivivor has no Calm = Survivor gets hooked.
Killer has no Spies. Survivor has Calm = Survivor wastes a perk slot.As you can see, the perk mindgaming setup is lopsided in Killer's favor. So no, "Just use Calm Spirit" is a dumbass answer to this problem.

Whether it was the entire company or just one person, it's still BHVR's responsibility. Losing the suit means they were more than likely guilty. This isn't bad PR, it's just the facts.

I actually wish the mists were thicker. A big component of the game is stealth, and as a stealth player naturally I want more mist.

I find Doc one of the hardest killers to face. But then, I'm a stealth player, so he really just wrecks me.

I was just laughing it off and in shock that matchmaking did that, honestly. Looka' those add-ons, too; that Trapper came to murder. One went down and it snowballed quick, fast, and in a hurry. Pretty good job so far!
Personally if I saw that many streamers in the match I'd go into a farming bonanza. Lots of killers did this during the December event. One match I got like 200k BP because we were all partying.
-
The fog is actually pretty benign on most maps it's only bad when someone uses a purple mist offering. Even in the Asylum.
-
I don't always get camped, but when I do it's because I sabo'd the killer's hook twice to let my teammate get a wiggle, and flashed a beam into his face after I broke a pallet on his head.
I only have myself to blame.
-
Camping is valid and really strong in lower ranks, where survivors actually stick together but don't have the skills to back it up.
-
I guess the region matching just didn't work out. There weren't any lower rank killers available.
For the record, I have never had this problem. If I solo queue I always fight a killer within 3 ranks at most.

The system is more an assessment of time played than skillful play. The system increases queue times significantly, and in some cases indefinitely. And in its attempt to find a “balanced” match, it diminishes the connection quality in the process.
It absolutely measures your skill. Only the best players who can consistently achieve objectives get to Rank 1.
It only measures skill in a very basic understanding of the game.
To Safety PiP as Survivor you need 2 Bronze and 2 Silver.
You need to:
- Get 1 Gen to 30% for Bronze Lightbringer
- Live for 10 minutes for Silver Unbroken
- Get 1 Heal for Silver Benevolence
- And get chased for 13 seconds for Bronze Evader
And this is assuming you want to play nicely. If you want to: 3 unhooks and 1 heal will give you Iridescent Benevolence. At that point you only need 2 more Bronzes to Safety, or 2 Silvers and 1 Bronze to PiP.
Ranking up is so easy in Dead by Daylight that it’s pointless, and making it harder would damage the queue times even more.
Improving the quality matchmaking is of much greater importance than trying to keep a very frivolous ranking system like this:
That only measures skill in a range of “just bought the game” to “I’ve played this game for more than 5 hours.” And only truly serves to worsen matchmaking while giving a placebo of more balanced matches.
If ranking up were so easy everyone would be Rank 1, but they're not. Majority of Survivor are Rank 9 or below.
You are making it sound so easy but it's not. What you are saying is 100% fantasy and not reality. The rank system is precisely what allows for matchmaking. Removing the rank system means no matchmaking at all. Unless you have a better alternative, removing it will make matchmaking a whole magnitude worse than it currently is.
It seems it's mostly killers who seem to think rank doesn't exist. I think it's because Killers rank up much easier than Survivors. You have such a warped perspective of how it really works for most players that your suggestions (or lack of it) are useless. All you do is complain but actually you're just mad because you keep getting stomped at Rank 1 by survivor teams that are better than you. Or perhaps you're already at the top of the game and just want to consistently be able to bully survivors that are much weaker and far less experienced than you are.
Either way, that doesnt' work. We need something for ranking, because that's what we need for matchmaking. Region based matchmaking is a dumb idea.
-
Getting the "competitive" perks doesn't take long at all. Self Care is right there, you can unlock it in 10 hours or less. My friend ground Claudette to 40 in like 15 hours. Self Care is also 100% competitive at Tier 1. You don't even need to max it out.
The game is also perfectly playable without perks. They are nice but what gets you through a match is knowledge and skill, not perks. At least on the survivor side. I think Killers are more dependent on perks because they are so used to all the aura-reading and detection that goes on nowadays.
-
No, I'm against this. I run Borrowed Time and We're Gonna Live Forever most of the time. This change ruins me.
This also allows for troll gameplay, I risk my life to unhook a guy and the killer is coming, and he refuses to let me unhook him and I die.
-
The only person who looks out of place there is Pedralopez, who ironically did better than the two veterans at Rank 14 and Rank 15.
In SWF groups it's not unusual for one high rank member to draw a high rank killer in. My friend is high rank and when we SWF I play against Rank 5 killers all the time (I'm Rank 15).
But it seems you weren't in an SWF group, and you're teh only one who would have drawn in the Rank 6 killer. I don't now how this happend sorry.
-
The perk grind is necessary. The game would lose people's interest really fast if there were no perk grind.
People like to work towards something. A big part of the addictive quality of DbD is grinding for bloodpoints to unlock perks so I can get the build I want. Take that away and the game loses a sense of purpose,
The solution isn't to remove the perk grind, it's to ensure that new players stay matched up against new killers. The matchmaking and begginer rank systems need to be improved, and killer balance needs to be looked at a little because baby survivors have the absolute worst experience in this game.
-
Salty Killer tears, I love it.

This is nonsense. Dead by Daylight has the only community I know of that believes in the mass delusion that Rank does not measure skill. What garbage. This is the kind of mentality a person who thinks he's hot stuff, but actually can't get out of Rank 15, has.
Newsflash: rank measures your ability to consistently perform objectives. If you can't consistently perform objecives, you de-pip. And de-rank eventually.
It absolutely measures your skill. Only the best players who can consistently achieve objectives get to Rank 1.
Stop whining and pretending that Rank does't measure anything, just to keep your fragile ego that you are an actual skilled player, intact. If you are Rank 1 you're good at this game. If you are Rank 15, not so good.
And for the record, I am Rank 15. I accept this and realize I have a long way to go.
-
That's Garbage.
Rank measures your skill at completing game objectives. How long you play or how little you play has nothing to do with it.
Someone who plays a lot but misses objectives a lot will not pip. A lot. Someone who plays little but does objectives properly will pip.
You sound like a guy stuck at Rank 15 who thinks he's good enough to be at RAnk 1, but can't because reasons. Here's the hard truth: you are stuck at Rank 15 because you are not good enough to be at Rank 1. You cant play the game good enough and accomplish your objectives consistently to rank up. This is a fact.
Stop complaining about it thinking you're hot stuff, when you should be practicing, learning and trying to get better instead of blaming your inadequacies on the system.
And for the record, I'm a Rank 14 Survivor. I realize that I am not good enough to be Rank 1. I don't complain that Killers are too Powerful. (I think they are, but more than that I think that I just suck at the game and could improve a lot more.).
-
Well you win some you lose some. You can't have a perfect game every time.
