It would be kind of cool if the survivor’s aura showed for the duration of opening. Like that way it’s risky. Maybe then the basement can guarantee a non brown item.

Bad idea. NOBODY would go for the basement chest. Might as well just delete it from the game.

  • No improvement for me. Must be my old crappy PC.

  • I don't even have pig. But pig needs a rework here.

It's too bad but Endgame builds all need to be reworked because of eGC. Nobody asked for EGC. Ohw ait, except killers.

If it's in the patch notes, it's not a shadow nerf.

No one complains about Adam because Adam has a big model with tall hair and a flowing white coat, even if it is bloody.

Claudette is small and her clothes are dark and washed out that blend into the map. Every survivor has something in their basic gear that makes them stick out, except Claudette.

Adam has a black coat. He has the same camou as Claudette. It's better actually -- black vs. brown.

  • I agree with this. Also, Survivor should see who killer is so they can prepare and take better crap with them.

Than clean all the Totems and try to be Sneaky. On some Maps the Exit Gates are far away.

On some. On most, they aren't.

  • Yeah I rather have that ability on a purple or pink key.

  • Claudette isn't even invsibile. And especially not with the brightness change in patch 2.3 or something.

If you can't see Claudette with the new brightness, that's a problem with your eyes, not the game.

I don't mind removing Claudettes clothes, just give us back old lighting and I'll be perfectly happy.

  • Yeah, I am bad at looping so Gideon is not that easy for me. But I'd like to note that this is not just me. The stats from the Devs show that Gideon has one of the lowest winrates for survivors. Gideon is one of the harder maps for survivors, backed by stats.

They gotta find a way to block voice chat. And you have to use a perk slot that allows talking when near each other

You cannot block communication between people. I can just call him up on my phone, or we could be having a LAN party and are playing in the same room together. Balancing around players being unable to hear each other just can't be guaranteed. That's how it is.

  • I wouldn't. I mostly solo queue anyway. I only have one friend i play DbD with and we don't always play together.

  • @Plu said:
Yeah because my net suddenly spiking because i'm not the only person in this house is clearly my fault and i'm a terrible person for trying to wind down by playing a video game during my free time.

And let's not talk about the game matching me with people from the other side of the globe because why not wich makes surv lag to ######### when it's not my fault.

It actually is. If you don't want it to happen, get a dedicated line for gaming, or get a gaming router that knows how to prioritize your gaming connection. There is definitely some accountability on your part to provide the necessary components to play.

Even if your dad bought your computer and pays for the internet, if you use it to play, it's on you that you can't get a better computer or better connection to play. If your internet is a problem you can always find other games to play that don't need a good connection.

  • I don't think the hatch is a bad mechanic. I think it's a good mechanic that gives survivor teams that got outclassed a way for at least one of them to escape.

If the match ever got to the point that the hatch opens, I don't see why killers are complaining. The killer has already "won" at that point. Saccing or killing 3 survivors is a win for any killer, and the entity is pleased. You don't have to get 4Ks every time to "win" this game.

Killers whining about the hatch basically are saying that they must get 4ks every game, or else this game sucks. I mean, seriously? Survivors have a 30% to 40% escape rate as it stands. Just escaping is a dance for joy. And we get a ton less bloodpoints for it than a killer normally does. And there are ways to counter teh hatch so that you get 4Ks. Why is the hatch even a problem?

If you're saying it encourages bad behavior on the survivor's part, so what? I consider camping and tunneling to be bad behavior on the killer's part. Should we remove the ability for the killer to camp a player -- like a big black globe sprouts around the hooked survivor that a killer can't see or pass through but survivors can? Or remove the ability for killers to tunnel a survivor -- like you can't hit or touch a survivor you just hooked until you hook a new survivor.

If these kinds of mechanics don't have a place in the game, then let's just leave the hatch alone. It may encourage some bad behavior, but there are a lot of things in this game that encourage bad behavior. There is no need to forcefully remove any of them.

If hatch standoffs are a problem, then just remove the killer's ability to grab the survivor while jumping in, and remove the survivor's ability to jump into the hatch after being hit for a while. Make it a simple game of sneak into the hatch and get out or get hit.

  • DS isn't the problem. It's good looping.
I suck at looping and if I bring DS along you'll just laugh at me and catch me again in 5 seconds if I can't juke you. That's why I don't use DS, it doesn't work for my playstyle.

It's not "you lose no matter how good you played" lots of good killers can catch loopers pretty fast and do it again after they get DS'd.

I'll admit that going up against 4 excellent loopers each with DS is a little too much. But not every survivor is a good looper. And that underscores the real issue: good loopers are the problem, not the perk. Sometimes you just get outplayed or go up against four players who are better than you. It happens.

I don't really care if DS gets nerfed, though, since I don't use it. Give me DS and I'm like a free kill.

  • The corn is great but when I fight against killers who know what they are doing I can't lose them, and I specialize in juking then stealthing (I suck at looping). There's a level of skill required to navigate the corn fields. I won't deny it's favorable for survivors, but a killer who knows what he's doing will catch you.

It's still easily the map I want to play in the most as a survivor. I used to like MacMillan as well but after the lighting changes it's not as great as it used to be. The corn defies the lighting changes.

Gideon sucks and is one of the harder maps to play as a Survivor, but it's not as bad as its reputation. I actually find the Hospital a lot harder.

First and foremost, he has to fully stalk all 4 Survivors to do that addon combo. If you let him fully stalk all 4 of you, you absolutely deserve to get Tombstoned.

Even more reason to DC, now he can't get to Evil 3. Just one of you needs to do it.

  • This game is just not as fun as it was even just two months ago.
If I don't feel like it I will now suicide. I don't seem to have the patience or passion for the game that I used to, after seeing how rotten the community is.
Sorry, but you can just join me and do the same, if you're lucky the killer will let you farm.

You do make some points. But you forget something. There is NO reason not to leave besides wanting to be toxic. I repeat, there is NO reason not to leave.

I know you now want to say : give them a reason and push them out. But i don't want to give them a reason, they should just leave.

There is no reason not to push them out other than wanting to be toxic.

    Pot calling the kettle black.

Sitting in a game now with 2 survivors in an exit gate. I refuse to go and push them out. I'm not going to give them the satisfaction of T-bagging me. I'm just listening to music right now, and also watching some Youtube vids. I don't mind that they waste their own time. This has been going on for like 30 minutes now, and i have a feeling that it will take even more time.

Can i report the 2 people for holding the game hostage since they are the ones refusing to leave?

The one holding the game hostage is you. Just hit them already or DC.

  • @Rebel_Raven said:
The gates do not instantly get powered when the 5th gen is done.

    Either:

1: the gens take several minutes, say, 5, to charge the gates. The survivors must survive that time before they can open the gates.

    Or

2 Depending on how fast the gens get done 5 to one minute is the charge time. The -faster- the gens are done, the -longer- it takes to charge the gates as the systems in places are forced back to life instead of a gradual warming up.
The survivors likewise must survive until they can open the gates.
This option adds some strategy to how gens are done, maybe?

The minutes aren't set in stone, but time flies, so a balance between how long you can avoid the sacrifice hook, and giving the killer time to do their job is needed.
The biggest issue with gen rush is that killers don't have time to do anything, imo.
And this becomes sort of a secondary objective for survivors.

This also helps fix the end game.

Heck, it might add some much needed tension back into the game.

Also this avoids a lot of perks needing to be reworked.

    Bad idea.

Survivors will just hide for 5 minutes while waiting for the gates to open. Killers can't find a survivor for squat if they're not doing generators. It would just pointlessly add 5 minutes to the match.

This adds no tension to the game, it only adds boredom.

  • BBQ is generally okay. It's only really broken in the hands of Billy.

Also you can counter it by hiding behind a generator, if a locker isn't available.

  • I know the counterplay to BBQ. Like Mr. Hillbilly here said, if you counterplay BBQ you are screwing your team, which means you are screwing yourself. In other words, he is saying don't counterplay it or you die, or counterplay it and you die.

So I am telling him maybe the problem is his BBQ, not Distortion or Lockers. Try to get a sense of context please, Mr. Veteran Oldman Survivor. I know you're a new at posting in forums, but try to read between the lines.

  • @DemonDaddy said:
Cause surprise attacks help keep the game in line with the horror genre. They also feel so much better than watching the killer approach after x-seconds of warning. There shouldn't be any point in a match where you feel secure enough to dismiss danger.

Right, that's why they nerfed lighting so the game is as bright as noontime in the Colorado Desert. So scary, so horror-ful.

  • @Acromio said:
It's literally the only thing she has. Leave the Spirit and her addons alone.

Killer mains agree that Spirit is top tier, mid-high at worst. Yeah, it's "the only thing she has."

  • How about we also hide survivor item loadout at lobby, just to "even" things out since apparently only killers are allowed to know things.

  • @Mister_xD said:
here is my PoV regarding distortion:
you are not saving yourself from the killer, you are screwing your team.
when i run BBQ & Billy (or any other killer, but billy is the best example for this), i will aim for a snowball effect. by running distortion, you will make me chase your other teammates who, at some point, will already have been hooked. this leads to a faster death of your team, as you wont take a hook status for them, allowing me to eliminate a survivor quicker at the beginning, due to the "tunneling" that has occured. the more players run distortion, the more the others will suffer.
if you all run distortion though, i will be forced to stay at the hook, as i have to guess that you are nearby. with other words: i will probaply go ahead and camp your mate on the hook, until i eigther find someone, or he hits the second hook stage and i will leave on my own.
EDIT: oh, and i will have to return to the hook once the survivor has been rescued. obviously.

so: run distortion and screw the other survivors, or dont do it and take some hits.
    its your decision.

So in other words, damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Really nice offer there killer. How about we nerf BBQ so that Survivors don't get killrushed by BBQ Billy in 5 minutes.

If the item you found isn't worth taking, you'll have to swap anyway. At least this way, you always know what you're picking up.

You don't automatically pick up an item if you are already carrying something.

There is no need to swap if the item isn't worth taking.

Any item is an improvement over carrying nothing (unless you're worried about stealthing with the smallest profile possible). If you are already carrying a better item, you won't automatically pick up what's in the chest.

  • Why is Dwight behind bars? Does that mean he's been banned?

  • I actually got 4 pigs out of 6 games yesterday. Sample size is small though it's probably just random luck.

  • I see, so it is also a solo player problem.

This game is really #########, you know that? Developers should take this as a lesson never to design a game around the idea of secrecy. Annoying.

I've been a fairly non-toxic Survivor main but I think that ends today. I have realized that this community is by nature toxic, and it's no use trying to be a nice guy. Exploits like that never even occurred to me!

I am going to join the hordes of toxic players in this game spreading lies and propaganda to show how underpowered survivors are compared to OP killers, and campaign for killer nerfs every inch of hte way, and won't stop until survivors get the buffs they deserve.

    This is ######### and ridiculous ######### and utter ######### and ######### ######### ######### ######### ######### ######### ######### ######### ######### ######### ######### #########

  • So you wanna pat on your back or something?

Look at the red killer, well I give him points for trying.

So what exactly are you trying to accomplish with this POS thread?

  • Borrowed Time seriously needs to be reworked into something else, and it's existing effect applied into We're Gonna Live Forever.

    That would solve this problem.

It's bad that WGLF doesn't do anything at all and is even a hindrance to your team, when it's equivalent perk, BBQ and Chili, is one of the strongest perks in the game
  • I use David for the Santa build, it was the Santa David build, my rank fell to 15 all December but worth it.

Gen rush is done with people spread out.

When survivors group to do gens, they have an efficiency penalty, not to mention they need to waste time walking around to find someone to do gens with, then waste more time walking to the next gen.

I wouldn’t blame you. I love the new surveillance!

Nice try "Survivor Main" who "always plays Survivors." Why do people need to make flimsy lies about how they play the game?

Killers will do all sorts of lying and BS to spread their dumb Killer Propaganda. Hello Spirit Main I see you for who you are no matter how much you try to Spirit Walk, because you just LOVE the new Surveillance don't you? Gotta love self-incrimination.

The real fact is gen repairs were nerfed so that actually repairing gens now is slower than it was before the "buff" to Prove Thyself. And Prove Thyself isn't even a buff it's more a "remove nerf" and even then it's still slower than how it was pre-2.5.

  • Killers can disrupt gen repairs easily. There are perks specifically designed for this like Discordance, and Surveillance just got a HUGE buff. And everyone is running Thanatophobia, which negates any bonus to repair speed Prove Thyself might give.

And Prove Thyself itself is not really a buff, gen repairs were nerfed across the board, so Survivors didn't really get anything out of this.

That is the truth, Spirit main. (yes you're not fooling anybody saying you're a Survivor main who always plays survivor. Gotta love self-incrimination). Why do people feel the need to make flimsy lies about how they play this game?

  • As a survivor I can definitely confirm, I can hear myself a lot louder. Killer hearing is probably bugged, or you are just not hearing it in the rush.

  • I generally don't mind making a killer perk baseline but Survivors need to get something out of the deal.

Killers are not "underpowered" and adding this tips the scales a little too much in one direction.

And I certainly don;t' think this will dissuade camping, it may apply to you but I bet most killers don't think like you.

I do not want this as a killer main, I'll just speak for ever killer main since you don't seem to get the main idea.

We just want a fair game against decent survivors. Currently, we don't have this just yet but it was a lot worse back then so that's progress! However, there are some things that needs addressing ASAP such as totem placement and how fast the game can end. Besides, I don't see why you are upset, your side received some well deserved buffs so I don't see the problem.

You mean the sabotage buffs? lol Cause I don't see anyone sabotaging hooks

I'm talking about the recent survivor perk changes. Didn't you see them?

You mean the nerfs to Leader and Prove Thyself?

I know you making a joke.
But killer mains dont noed in every game.
Every survivor would clean all totem.
And then all hex perks are useless.

The point he's making is that there are killers actively campaigning to make NoEd baseline, and add a second set of totems for NoEd only which are different from regular Hex Totems.

That's how badly some (not all) killers have gone down the rabbit hole.

  • @Rebel_Raven said:
    Double edged sword.

With base survivors it's arguably slower when they gang up on a gen because they get less skill checks.

Most gen rushes have the survivors spread out, and the gens go off rapid fire.

Which is why they need to actually encourage grouping up, not going solo. I don't understand why BHVR is feeding the problem, not solving it.

  • Wake Up has always been a trash perk, so no surprise. When a trash perk like leader makes you look bad, you know you're terrible.

Leader is terrible becuase you are basically just bossing someone around to do something while twiddling your thumbs. It's not just inefficient, it's a loss of points for you as well. The gate and heal to you buffs are nice, but just not as good as how it used to work.

  • Killers who camp aren't going to stop face camping and tunneling just because they can now break gens faster. What kind of logic is that.

  • The gamepad is not an ideal first person tool, but if you're a console player you should be able to do it with some practice. Framerate is also an issue. My PC is not the best and I have framerate issues, so I just have to suffer through it.

  • Its annoying, I use the chainsaw as an audio cue to dodge around a tree. It got harder to loop Bubba now I have to look back to see him rev the chainsaw.
