  • If the devs really did stop caring, this game would have been abandoned years ago. They release content often, try fix bugs, add new features, etc. Yes, they've not been great at it, but where in all of that does it show they don't care? Your opinion is your own, not the vast majority. You go play Last Year and have fun, but that doesn't mean you need to start telling people to quit this game because you feel they don't care for it anymore

If you good with any killers well there is no need to camp but if you got annoyed and camp well I understand but camp because you can't get a kill well that is depressing and learn how to play well if not and will play like that as a killer well don't play as a killer if wanna play wrong.

This is why I never camp. I know I'm far from the best killer, and at most, I can get maybe 2 kills per match, depending on how good the survivors are at looping. Worst case scenario, I get 1 kill, and down a couple in EGC, but at that point I usually just give them the Hatch, or carry to the exit. Anyone who needs to camp/tunnel are usually the desperate ones who can't get a kill, or can't face losing pips/ranks, which IMO ruins the experience. The games not all about Ranks or kills, it's about having a good time.

That's exactly what it is supposed to be and how it is, for solo survivors. You can equip certain perks to help you out, like kindred that is pretty good now. And nobody want to destroy swf, just highlight them and the killer can decide if he wants to play or not.

But how would this help the problem? If SWF got highlighted, then there would be even less players in matches since every killer would make sure they avoid lobbies with SWF. Remove SWF: Game will lose so many players. Highlight SWF: Players will avoid, longer wait times, players stop playing, game dies. There's no good outcome to this.

Still, they will talk to each other, which perks they use, which items / addons. They give informations through the voicecom, what solo players ain't have, to the disadvantage of the killer. That is just not fair play.

So you basically want them to run around like headless chickens, not have a clue on where you are coming from, and just get that 4 kill game? I don't agree at all. I'm not a huge fan of SWF teams, because yes, they make sure they make you know you just got owned badly, but at the same time, I'm not going to stop people who are enjoying the game together playing. At the end of the day, kills or no kills, we all get points, we all played the match, we all had fun playing the game we enjoy. Why do people constantly target SWF because they lost a match. If you go into every match expecting to win, you're going to be disapointed everytime. Just play the game and have fun, and stop focusing on winning, you'll enjoy it more that way.

  • I'm a Ghostface main and I've never felt the need to camp or tunnel at a hook. I rarely use the Mark ability since they usually spot me just as it nears full. I mostly just mask my TR to sneak up on them at a Gen when they're not paying too much attention. When they get hooked, I go off to Gens in search. I don't see a need for camping a hook as GF really. That's just a cheap way to get a down/kill and I like my matches to be fair on both sides.

    So unless they're flat-out lying

Is it bad that I find that more believable from the devs than them actually making a well thought out narrative?

I think it's just like any games DLC storylines. They saw a way to link a certain aspect and did it. A good example is CoD: Zombies. Their storyline is pretty much 'linked' to older DLC's and people always make the assumption that they planned it years in advance, but the reality is, they just saw an opportunity to make the link. So, Oni being linked to Spirit could just be another one of those 'Oh, Spirit has Japanese legacy, let's link Oni to her ancestors'

  • I like the idea because lately I keep getting matched to Purple/Red ranks even though I'm only in Green and I always get 2-3 Gens popping before I've managed to finish downing 1 survivor. I don't mind the fact they do it, but I like my games lasting a little longer than 3 minutes for the sake of at least a little more BP

  • I'd love to see the PTB on consoles, since it only gets tested on a PC platform, but does anyone test those same things on console before it hits? If they added it to console as well, something like a Add-on that only works during PTB phases, then we could possibly see less bugs

  • @Drazen said:

surge is a really bad perk it only adds 6 and a half second to a gen also it is limited to 32m radius with 60 sec cooldown. Great idea for a perk but weak

I use it often with my Demo and it's far from bad. There have been many times survivors have had a gen close to popping, but the perk activates, and when they're too busy trying to get the save, they forget about that same Gen that's been slowly degrading. I think it's more on how you use it, than just saying it's bad. Everyone has their own playstyle and choices on perks. Doesn't instantly make them bad or useless if they find a fun way to use them

  • Honestly, I don't mind SWF anymore. People only seem to ever point out the negatives to them, but you never see a positive. I've had a fair few games with SWF as a killer, and yes, they slaughtered me, but they weren't toxic about it, and we even had a good laugh after the match and praised each other on the skills. Yes, many are toxic about it, but there are also those that aren't and they're good fun to play against. People shouldn't get penalties against them just because they want to enjoy the game with some friends. I guarantee there are more friendly SWF's than there are toxic ones.

Maybe thats my problem - I let too many escape/live? If I kill the rest maybe the survivor would at least give a "ty" I just hate when I have a team with a quitter/early suicider... I guess its other survivors faults for making killers just kill them so I should try and not feel so bad about it...

I like your item tax though. I might give that one a try!

I usually let the final survivor go, depending on how well they played against me. If they make me work super hard for the down throughout the match, and they end up being the final survivor, I usually drop them a hatch, or exit gate. Otherwise, if they act toxic they get hunted down like the animals they are

No terror radious really brings out the scare factor

This exactly. I find when I can hear the killer coming, sure, it gets me a little on edge, but not as much as the surprise attack when I don't even see them coming or hear them. A perfect example is Ghostface/Myers who both mask their terror radious. I had a Myers just grab me from a Gen from nowhere, and I nearly had a heart attack. That's the kind of scares I need in a horror based game like this. Now, the games more, 'Oh look, it's X killer. Time to run circles for 5 mins'

They tried it with this chapter. The Oni rage scream being heard in the map is suggestive, sadly it reveals a strong information.

It’s like people screaming while intoxicated or shocked, it creates atmosphere hearing your teammates suffering, tho you feel relieved knowing that you’re facing an F tier killer :P

Technically the Oni screaming across the map isn't actually the 1st that did that. Demogorgon does it too, though his ability is just teleport in a fancy way, but I get what you mean. To the OP, I agree, there needs to be more added than just Gen>Escape, or Attack>Hook. It's been 4 years now, surely there could be bonus objectives (Beyond Totems) added in, or new ways to escape beyond simply acivating Gens each round. Something like what Friday the 13th did, in terms of escape routes, not gameplay, since there's a reason that game is dead. The game would be so much more fun with more alternate routes to take to escape or down survivors, and I feel it would bring more players back to the game

  • As someone who only just figured out this is why people kept DC'ing on me toward the basement, people should not be banned. I was just attempting to get my challenges done, and everytime, the survivor just DC'ed before reaching the hook. At first, I just assumed they rage quit, then I found this and it all makes sense now. I feel terrible for the survivors who did DC since I had no clue about this bug. There is no excuse for them not to be issuing a statement, because this is going to get worse when the real trolls of the game begin to abuse this bug, not to mention, the fact some people still need basement kills for their challenge, and are now locked from that since Survivors keep DC'ing near the basement

The guy who made the discussion is real Salty tbh like chill man

Are you joking? The game is a complete mess. The broken loops, the broken combos of powers, survivors able to gen rush, killers able to camp 24/7, broken matchmaking with high ranks being placed into low rank games, the list goes on. Go play as survivor or killer for more than an hour and see how 'salty' the OP seems. Because, many others are in the same boat. The game is dying fast with the way things are going, and the only ones who will be left are the sweaty tryhards to only play to prove they can stay at Rank 1 endlessly

Same here. Doctor is one of my favourites to use, not for kills, but just for chasing the survivors around for the fun of it, since this seems to be the only 'fun' I have in the game lately. Let's hope we don't see Legion 2.0 (Or 3.0 after the recent patch)

As far a I gathered, they do do QA testing. However they also made themselves a 3-months scedule for chapters, and nothing, not even gamebreaking bugs, stops them from sticking to that scedule. Because people will continue throwing money down their throats, no matter the amount of bugs.

Sad but true. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to see more content is being made for the game, but that same content won't keep the game alive if they keep avoiding the glaring issues already in the game. I'm sure people would be fine with small delays if it meant we get a game that isn't broken most days

  • @Vetrathene said:

Like when cote went up against survivors in I beleive Korea and got run around and flash light blinded the entire time and was super pissed about it. The devs need to experince that and find out just who is the only ones having "fun" in this game.

Exactly. I hate the flashlight users in this game. Don't get me wrong, the ones who use them simply for saving, or a quick stun to get some distance, that's fine. But the ones who will t-bag and constant stun with it, knowing what they're doing, that's the line. I also just had a match with an eternal T3 Myer's instadown. That was not fun. Not at all. Why is that even a combo?! People complained about other killers being too OP, but hell, let's keep a killer who can just run Exposed forever and just slug everyone. There are too many issues in this game, and the devs seem to bury their heads in the sand about it and just release 'patches' that essentially destroy the game more for killers who didn't need to be nerfed so badly

  • Since the patch, the bugs are insane. I've had a Doctor bug where I got stuck in Insanity 3 and couldn't remove it, killers able to use the force and down me despite being far enough away from vaulting a window, the basement bug, trapped in a fence. Does anyone in BHVR actually to QA testing anymore?

  • I share your view on this honestly. These days, I can have maybe 2-3 matches and I'm done. As killer, I get gen-rushed to hell and back, which is not enjoyable at all. I like matches to last longer than my damn waiting time in the lobby. As survivor, I'm tired of seeing all these campers/tunnelers who are desperate for that kill. The game just doesn't feel fun anymore, it's more a chore. I used to love playing this game for the challenge, but now, the challenge is just gone and replaced with sweaty tryhards to must have Rank 1 or their lives are incomplete.

We run ruin to "Slow the Game down, Just a lil bit!"

This. I don't use Ruin often, but the times I do, it's because I don't want to blink and hear the exit just got activated. I'm not too fussed on the BP earnings for all the chases, downs, hooks, etc, but I'd like my game to at least last longer than 30 seconds. I like survivors who put up a challenge, not rush for the speed run world record.

  • Honestly, I'd love to see Devs actually go up against what we do in matches. Sure, they 'test' their creations, but I don't think they ACTUALLY test against people who play 24/7. There's so many broken combos, powers, loops, etc. If a Dev actually played a few matches against people who run them, I hope they'd finally see what we're all talking about

Lol expect them to be defenseless oh cause godloops in the middle of maps, crazy junglegym and t/L wall loops tied together is helpless, foh lol

Their chance to escape is called play good, not have crutch perks save the day.

I would be a lot less annoyed by the crap balance if the SINGLE FING OBJECTIVE that survivors have to do wasn't so damn easy lol. Its pathetically ridiculous how incredibly easy it is to do gens even with slow down perks.

I have to agree on that one. The amount of times I've literally searched for about 30 seconds after the match begins and boom. 3 Gens just go off from nowhere. So I do think that the whole Gen repair system is a little flawed at this point. And the looping, it is annoying to all hell. I guess I take back the defenseless part then, since they ain't TOO defenseless. But, what can we expect after 4 years? I don't see these infinites and godloops being fixed anytime soon, which sucks because it's making playing killer boring these days, and survivor is a sweatfest for them to get that 4k

  • But at the same time, NOED could be the same. DS is for a survivor's one shot at escaping, NOED is the killers one shot at downing them. And, DS is only usable once, where NOED is constant until destroyed. You can't expect Survivors to be left completely defenceless, they need someway to escape. Though, the scenario you had is a horrible one. I've had it many times, and it is annoying to encounter, so don't get me wrong, I'm not defending DS here, just stating that Survivors need a way to at least have a chance to escape beyond wiggle

I had a bug similar before 3.4.0 where I was at stage 2 and it continued to give the option to snap out of madness but I couldn't do the action for longer than a quick moment not allowing me to do gens but it stopped after the doctor came close to me with treatment mode.

Sounds very similar to my experience, though even after the doctor came close to me, I still couldn't use it. Another survivor kept wanting me to heal, and I just kept twitching everytime I attempted to remove the debuff so I looked like the worst player ever that match.

If he is the killer, maybe he wanted to have a chance with the serum again, or when he said that he was in the area where you were neither dead or alive, just there, then maybe the serum he got during there was a gift from the entity. But not without a catch. I could be completely wrong though I might've understood the stories wrongly

It's possible. He escaped from the Entity with the Putrid Serum, but who's to say he really did escape. His lab is hidden somewhere in the Entity realm, but nobody knows where. So it could be that the Entity found the lab, and discovered something that gives Vigo a power the Entity could manipulate for it's own ends to get more power. Maybe the serum could make the Entity itself even worse than before.

  • Actually, there is lore on the Alchemist (AKA Vigo). He's the one who supposedly created the Black Locks (Trapdoors) but the entity stole them. He's also the one who entered the Entity's realm of his own free will in an attempt to research it, but found that he slowly lost his sanity as he realised that he was trapped and no matter what, he would never die. It's possible that he is the next killer. Perhaps he's finally gone insane from being trapped against his will, unlike other survivors who were pulled into the realm. Maybe he struck a deal with the Entity in return for his freedom, or what he thinks is freedom since we all know, the Entity will never realease anyone trapped there

  • Sounds like you had a salty player. I've found that killers you really annoy and essentially stop them getting their kills easy will make you their one and only target and they'll make sure you don't leave alive. I've had moments where a certain player has pushed my buttons and I've hunted them down, but I've never felt the need to camp. I don't agree with the 'It's a playstyle' excuse of camping. How is it fair for anyone if they don't get a chance to be rescued and continue playing. Of course, the usual killer mains will disagree with my opinion but that's how I see it

  • Let's face it. People need these precious ranks to prove their skill level in the game. They need those 5 genrushes, and 4 kills per game, or life just ain't good enough. Personally, I wish the ranking system was optional because it just brings a negative vibe to matches for me. I could care less if my rank remained at 20 honestly, because I purposly depip myself when it hits the 10 mark. Higher ranks are just boring as hell to try go against for they sweatiness and tryhardness. I want to just have fun, not feel the need to pull out must-have perks just to survive longer than a minute.

  • I see more Map offerings than actual useful items. Kinda depressing really, because I rarely use the map offerings. Kinda makes me wish there was a trade-in option for half of it's BP worth, especially when you're ready to prestige since I always have hundreds of unused items when I hit max level.

  • I'd love this as a challenge mode. It would breath some fresh life into the game and really force killers and survivors to adapt more than to just rely on the same old builds that they know get them wins. This games needs more of a challenge, other than the usual genrush and leave/slug and campfest

Doctor main here with some suggestions you can try.

Stealth Doctor (usually done with a green Calm Addin) - Run Monitor and Abuse with a green Calm addin and you'll have a respectibly small 16 meter terror radius when in punishment mode. The idea is to not keep your Treatment mode on all the time. Just approach areas you think the survivors are at and turn it on the moment you realize somebody might be nearby to try and flush them out. You can run pretty much anything you want with this - the idea is just to leverage MnA with Calm stacked on it to surprise survivors.

Rail Gun Doctor - (Meme build for funsies) Run Polished Electrode with Interview Tape. This gives you a massive 35 meter shock. Throw on Monitor And Abuse and your Terror Radius goes down to 28 meters which allows you to shock people from outside your terror radius. I typically run Nurses Calling when I'm derping around with this as Nurse's calling's range is shorter than your shock range. So if you can see them on Nurses, you can goose them with your shock. Use whatever you want for your other perks. The idea is to just goof off with the addins and hit people on gens from extreme range for giggles - this is not a serious build.

Skill Checks Are Dumb - Most newbie docs start off with this. Be warned, you'll get a lot of salt from using this. The build is generally a combination of Distressing and Disturbing Presence. This bloats your terror radius to 40 meters and gives everybody in your terror radius smaller skill checks. When combined with the random skillchecks that show up in madness 1 and 2, this means lots of skill checks will be missed by all but the more skilled players. This generally works as your slowdown. If you are feeling particularly mean, you can stack this with Huntress Lullaby for maximum Salt mining. The one time I managed to get 5 stacks doing this (it was on Lery's), the amount of missed skill checks was truly glorious

For your other two killers (Wraith and Gordan), I would suggest dropping Overcharge for Pop Goes The Weasel. Both killers have the mobility to get back to gens after hooking people and you'll get way more regression from that kick than a missed skillcheck on Overcharge.

Doctor is one of my fave killers to use, and I may just have to try out some of these builds. Usually I just torture them all with Treatment and go for the kill, but these sound more entertaining. Especially the Skill Check build

I shouldn’t feel the need to run every get out of jail free card, or play SWF for a chance to escape the trial.

I don’t think I am entitled to an escape. I think I deserve to be matched with better teammates.

I get where your coming from on this. On one hand, you can get SWF teams who will essentially see you as the randomer who's just going to bring them down and just refuse to help or escape the second that door opens. On the other hand, I've also had SWF teams go out of their way to help, and even drop items for me to help me out. So I guess it just depends on how lucky you get on the matchmaking really. But overall, most of my solo matches are disasters since I seem to get survivors who seem very confused at whats happening most times.

  • It's very frustrating for me, especially when it looks like I just DC'd from rage. It always happens at the worst times. I'm either hooked, or I'm getting chased and the 'Network connection is lost' and boots me to the main menu and I lose rank. Not that I mind if the rank drops, since I'm not a fan of the rankign system, but the random DC's are getting annoying!

  • Xbox One, UK (Europe)

    Survivor and Killer Rank 10

Survivor - 2 to 3 mins in evenings

Killer - up to 5 mins, more in evenings

  • I was pretty excited for the rift at first. Even planned to buy it but seeing the lackluster progress without challenges really put the brakes on that. I only play for a couple of hours a day, and even with challenges, I wouldn't get my moneys worth from it. I'm happy with the free rewards I'll earn either way, but I'm hoping Tome 2 will be a little less grindy and maybe have more enticing rewards.

  • I doubt others are doing it out of a bug. Survivor suicides are pretty common. It's essentially the next best thing to them just DC'ing on you.

  • I would love to see Jason come to DbD, but also not to have him either. After the collosal train wreck that was Friday the 13th: The Game, I'd fear what the devs would do to a killer version of him in DbD, and how Survivor mains would demand the nerf hammer come down on him if he was to 'OP'. It's how I feel for any new character ever added into this game. Those Red rank survivors can't abide having a good killer around. They'll stop those precious pips after all!

I almost walked away to give them some privacy ?

  • Can't say I've ever noticed the height difference honestly. I just always assumed they were all the same since we're usually all at the same height when doing Gens. I usually play as David, he's my fave survivor. For female, it'd have to be Feng. I love her Spring Festival outfit

Pretty much every game for me. I see the survivor coming and then a red light following, proceeding with me screaming at my TV to get the hell away from me with the killer! I'd rather just stay hooked than be rehooked. This is why when I play killer, I just walk away from the hook and let them get the save. I don't feel the need to camp or stand guard, but that's just my stance on it.
