SwF is a minority. Especially 4 man SwF is VERY rare to encounter.

If you would have checked the link provided by the post before yours you would've seen that.

Does the number in a SwF really matter? The point still stands. There is no need for any size SwF groups to go on like they do. I could care less if there was only 1 single SwF group in existence, any that act toxic in any way, or send abusive messages post-matches, should not be playing this game. It ruins the games community as a whole. I just want to play a game for fun and enjoyment, not to be sent abusive messages after they lost a match, or when they decide to be sore winners about it

It's crazy. I have a video clip where I'm on the other side of a jungle gym. No windows and the hatchet hits me.

I doubt we'll see any improvement to this anytime soon. With the Doctor rework coming, Huntress is most likely way down the list for improvements, which sucks, because I do like to play as Huntress from time to time, but feel like the house sized hitboxes just make it too easy to hit survivors

I try to play for fun, I rotate throughout all the Killers except 4 to mix it up. I played as Mike, I think it was, and played a group of Greens or Yellow before I kept ranking and ranking. They thanked me for the mindgames and jump scares. Amazing how friendly new players can be that haven’t learned the ######### tactics of reds and low purples.

Totally agree. I feel the lower ranks actually give you a fun match from the chases, and the tactics they try use. Red ranks just brute force everything, which is boring and just not fun to go against. Hell, some of the lower ranks have even given me a tough time, which is more fun for me since they're not super tryhard about it and we both have fun with it

  • @goat10em said:

Are the devs ever going to fix the huntresses hit boxes? I swear it is getting worse. Those hatchets go through walls now. It's insane.

She's one of my least favourite to go against for this reason. The amount of times I've had a hatchet smack the literal air beside me, only to have it count as a hit on me. Those hitboxes are worse than the regular ones!

100% agree my dude. I try and play killer for fun, I could care less about 4ks as long as it was enjoyable. Funny chases, scaring survivors, etc. most of the time I spend getting trolled, regardless of ignoring strong loopers. I play maybe 2-3 games of killer and switch to survivor if my friends are on, we don’t even try in survivor either and we’re red rank from literally having fun and barely escaping, after those games I’m off most of the time from playing killer. It’s beyond boring and a waste of time as a killer.

    bUt KiLleRs aRe oP

I play the same way. I don't go in aiming for a win, just to have fun. I usually main GF so I kinda just mess around with them when I see the match going south for me. A majority of times, I get thanked and told they enjoyed the match. I just wish Reds would be like lower ranks and just enjoy the game, not turn it into some kind of E-Sport rush

  • A trick I use is use the hooked survivor as a punch bag. Bait a rescue, and the killer usually tries to swing for you, but I quickly move, and they hit said survivor, momentarily stunned and free to unhook to give a protection hit. Doesn't always work, but a lot of killers I go against are so kill hungry, they seem to always go for it

  • I share your pain. I was in Purple ranks as Killer before Rank reset and went against a full team of Reds. Never again will I go that high. Ever. They spent the match saboing every hook possible, making sure to DS if I ever got one downed after a hooking, body block constantly. Mess with scratches, and because they were in identical outfits (all 4 Claudettes), they kinda did a switch behind cover to throw me off the loop. It was the most unfun game of my life, and I'm not proud but I did end up walking away from my xbox in rage and just letting them all get on with whatever it was they wanted to continue doing. Needless to say, they spent the following 25 minutes entering and leaving my radious for BP, along with farming from each other. SwF and Red ranks are huge reasons I never let my Rank go high anymore. The game stops being fun for me at that point.

  • SwF groups will kill this game off at some point. Of course, not all SwF groups are toxic asses, but a lot are, and it's kind of sad that they feel the need to do it. I had a 4 man SwF on xbox earlier, all red ranks with me being green, and I got the win fairly easily. Because of this, they all felt the need to send me messages telling me I cheated, camped, hacked, I need to uninstall the game, and various offensive words that I won't repeat here. As long as this kind of behaviour continues from these kinds of groups, this game will stay one step behind what it could be in my opinion.

  • This is why I gave up on completing any more of the tome. These current challenges are way too easy for survivors to DC and mess them up. I'm praying the devs understand the frustration we have and set challenges that can't get messed up from DC'ing

look at around their knees-torso area when hitting them

Thanks. I'll give this a try next time they do it to me

  • Someone get Netflix on the line! We need this in our lives. I'd watch the hell out of a DbD TV series!

  • This is why I play Killer so much because lately on console the Survivor wait times are so damn long. But, at the same time, the moment I hit Rank 10 on Killer, I leave the game until rank reset. The game stops being fun when your being placed against Red rank SwF groups who run you into the ground and make sure you know it.

Just ran piggy around swamp map twice with only 1 gen was needed as I sat on hook then died they had a key and were just waiting to bob when they left...

I've had survivors do that to me. Had one who kept baiting the killer to a locker I was hiding in, just so their little SwF group could use the hatch. Killer ended up killing all 3 of them and letting me go free. Karma is sweet at times!

  • This is why I despise SwF. Not to group them all into the same basket here, but they really do give the decent ones a really bad rep. I had a SWF group on Xbox earlier who all messaged me after all being slaughtered telling me I cheated, I'm reported, a few offensive terms, etc. This kind of stuff is why SwF is looked down upon so much, in my opinion at least. There's just no need for them to act like little kids who got beaten. They need to man up and learn to take the losses gracefully.

I've faced more ghostfaces recentely >_>

  • @HellDescent said:

You can hit survivors on top of the hay stack from downstairs, plus you can walk around the side on top if you hug the wall, you don't have to lunge to get around the side anymore

Is there a specific angle to aim for when hitting from below the hay? Because everytime I attempt it, it acts like I'm hitting a wall no matter the way I face the camera. May have to try the side wall thing to put those campy survivors in their places.

  • I mean, doesn't this kinda go against the 'Killer' role? I get where your coming from. The amount of times I've seen a bunch of randoms just run out and abandon their friend to the hook in EGC. Or, myself to the same randoms. Maybe if they could possibly boost the 4% unhook chance in EGC to give a lone survivor more chance to free themselves

  • I'm getting close to saving up BP soon. I've already reached 50 on the characters I use most, and the only prestige I really want is Ghostface. I'd love to maybe see a side-shop that sells Charms for BP or something. Just a way to burn through the excess BP, or even just remove the 1M cap on them

  • @Mr_K said:

Sounds like you are either playing an unfun killer or in an unfun way.

That or the survivors had real world things they had to take care of.

This isn't an excuse imo. Just because a killer plays in a certain way shouldn't mean they can just DC because they're losing. I've had matches where as killer, I downed a player in a loop, and because they didn't like that fact, they DC. I've noticed it's usually the purple/red ranks that always do this, because clearly their ego was hurt

  • Are they on console yet? A lot of matches I've played has the killer able to use telekenisis to hit me so it doesn't feel like they're on there yet

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/112490/give-us-a-spider-killer-please

I mean, Plague created a lot of backlash with Emetophobes (fear of puking), a spider killer would be really fun, but the Arachnophobes would be screaming.

personally, I love the idea! Make them like half human, half spider, and that would make for a cool killer. Also, I’m intrigued on how they would create a power for it!

I'm terrified of spiders, but in a horror based game, it's different for me. It's more the thrill of the scare than the actual fear of it. That's what DbD needs to breath the horror aspect back into it. We need more killers that use that kind of fear. I freaking hate clowns, and going against the clown is fun because he's so freakin weird

  • @S_Panda said:

It isn't out yet as far as I remember since the switch hasn't been updated yet and they're both on the dedicated servers.

I've heard people on Xbox say they are out there. They said if you continue DC'ing you get placed in a time-out and can't matchmake for a set time, but I can't confirm since I don't DC from matches

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

I avoid Ghostface caught on tape. I’m hoping there is some usefulness to it that I just haven’t seen yet but marking a survivor and tunneling them down is not really always the best play. Wish it had a secondary effect to make it more interesting. Even just longer marked time would go a loooong way.

Yeah this is one Add-On I never use since most times, when I attempt to lean stalk, I can never get them in my view, and if I move slightly, it knocks me out of leaning and the survivor sees me and runs, so stalking as they run is useless

Yeah Surge has ruined my life many times, especially since we Survivors fail skill checks when letting go of gens so often. Surge forces me off and then I instantly fail another skill check for letting go of the gen...

If I ever encounter you in a match, I apologise in advance ;)

  • @meatisadelicacy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/112391/hex-ruin-is-a-big-joke

I'm gonna touch all your totems. I cannot tell you how many games I've had where I single-handedly touch your ruin and all the dulls so there's no NOED either. High risk, high reward. Maybe try running other perks that affect gens besides Ruin?

This is why I run Surge and Thrilling Tremors so I can both damage and block Gens for a little while. Surge may not be fantastic, but it really helps when those Gens get blocked off, and it's saved me many times!

  • I always have it on when I play Solo. It helps so much at times. Though you still get survivors who don't quite understand that when there is no purple aura, it's safe to unhook.

  • I think it varies on time of day really. I'm based in the UK, on console, and Survivor times can range from anything from 1-2 mins to up to 10 mins. Where Killer lately, as you say, seems instant connections most times. It does seem there are more killers than survivors now which is frustrating because I feel like I have to play Killer just to get into games these days

  • And my point still stands, regardless of your chosen payment. And if you chose to buy it Day 1, then that's on you. You should know by this time, with ANY Game DLC, the Day 1 release is never the final release. There's always going to be some sort of change to it.

  • I'm assuming you mean the Website's store, and not the In-Game store? If so:

Shop for the latest Dead by Daylight merch, tees & more at The Official Dead by Daylight shop. The destination for apparel and accessories inspired by the Dead by Daylight universe with new designs added every month.

That's the link to use to contact them on any issues with the store.

I don't, but it's getting in my way of acquiring perks and items and I don't want to lose 7k bp for nothing, just please, people, read my post

The same could be said for ANYTHING on the Bloodweb. I go through so many useless Add-Ons for my killers, and I'm wasting BP, so with your logic, we should just delete every Add-On people fine useless, and just keep the super powerful ones. Point is, you have to waste BP on the Bloodweb either way to make any progress. And as we've stated: Don't use it if you don't like it.

  • @PeenutsButt3r said:

aNoThEr OnE of those people that say not buying the DLC rather than complaining and give feedback. Im getting used to this.

They never stated not to buy it. They stated you didn't have to pay, as in IRL cash. Oni is available for 9K Shards. And as for the Add-On, nobody has a gun to your head to use it, so if you don't like it, don't use it. Problem solved.

  • Ruin is like it sounds for any Hex. High risk-High reward. You can't expect to have survivors just put up with a Hex all match. The second they know it's there, they'll look for it. You are the one who needs to decide if that risk is worth it overall

Pretty sure it was said before that events are basically going to be a Rift thing going forward which kinda sucks because I don't really want events locked behind a battle pass system. They're supposed to be fun events, not a grindfest

  • I love the christmas jumpers for the characters, but I kinda wish we could also get a cosmetic Santa hat for Demogorgon. He'd look adorable with a little hat on

I had the peek from a corner, stalk and hit daily for GF and it was hard to do because of all the grass. I ended up just trolling around and pissing off a survivor because he wanted me to play more seriously.

It’s great for Claudette and Meg in her black jacket. I’ve crouched next to boulders and had killers just walk right by me many times.

I was playing Hag at the time, and she's not exactly the tallest, but I can imagine GF would be screwed there. I felt like I spent more time trying to find my way out of the grass than actually hitting a survivor in a chase. And you're right about Claudette. I had one that literally kept vanishing in the middle of a chase because of the grass. It was probably funny to watch me keep circling a statue trying to figure out where the scratch marks were going to be fair.

Same exact thing here, rank 11 getting matched with all red ranks for the last couple weeks. And for me at least they usually are pretty damn hard matches, like sometimes lucky if I get two hooks.

I know the feeling. Whenever I have matches like that I know for sure it's higher ranks. It's one of the reasons I always try avoid going higher than 10 on both Survivor and Killer because those ranks just aren't fun for me, and being matchmade to them is even less so

  • @Spooky13 said:

I would like it as maybe a simple story mode. Talk to different survivors for objectives to do for bonus BP or Iridescent Shards. Maybe we can have something like this for the Archives in the future.

I could get behind this idea. They could even just make it AI controlled, so it could be an actual solo experience.

PUBG also has a test server there is no excuse for it tbh. Totally agree and I may not be a big name here on the forums but I’m all about helping get the word out to better the game for console players I love the game but things like abuse of matchmaking with swf is getting out of hand like seriously I thought they fixed the whole highest rank determines killer rank guess that only pertained to swfs with red ranks because since the update I haven’t gotten a red rank but at rank 15 got 3 rank 8 and a rank 13 2 of the 3 8s were on the followers of the rank 13 then I got a full rank 8 survivor lobby at rank 13. And if I dc because matchmaking stacks against me like that I get punished. Before dishing out penalties how about fixing why these dcs are happening like matchmaking.

I've encountered the same thing. Even the matchmaking seems broken for me. I've been getting all red ranks even though I'm green (Rank 11). I don't mind going against them, since they didn't seem too great at the game overall, but if this is happening for a green, what is it doing to the lowest ranks? There are so many problems lately and I adore this game, as frustrating as it is at times. I just want to see this game succeed and be in a stable position after so long

But why do they have in the bio voiced by and brag about the voices they use. Plus Ash talks. This wouldn’t be that hard to give them something to say.

From a lore perspective, who's to say they should speak? Maybe the Trials they've endured for years has taken a toll on them and they've basically become unable to communicate beyond simple gestures. I'm most likely looking way too far into it, but it's possible

  • Going from what I've seen on Xbox so far, the turn rate was awful and Oni was easily outrun with simple duking. Now, they've improved the sensitivity of the turning so he's quicker and not as slugish during his dash

  • @w_sohl said:

I play both sides.  Everyone that complains that the game is survivor sided, how do you figure when every killer has better than a 50% kill rate?

I don't get why everyone throws that number around. In my experience, it's luck of the draw. Sometimes Survivors aren't on top of their game, sometimes they are. Same goes for Killers.

We need as a community to start speaking up and stop taking it for what it is. I’m tired of pc players having the run of things I understand it’s a pc port but that doesn’t mean us console players don’t have a say. Ptb everything is decided on what’s best for game by people who are pc only and dc in a test server. We can’t say ######### about it until live release and because we are the minority player base it don’t matter. Imagine if they unlocked content on all platforms for the same duration as a ptb server is up then lock it to make fixes that way we all get a say in the development of the game. And don’t get me started on how patches for pc get pushed to console and breaks the game for console.

I agree, we do need access to the PTB on console. Though, people do claim that they can't do that due to Sony/Microsoft needing to essentially accept changes. But, I find that a little strange since on Xbox, Sea of Thieves has a Test Server which operates like DbD's PTB, so I don't accept that reason we don't have access to the testing. A perfect example of why testing needs to be done on consoles as well would be Oni. They had to hotfix the controlling of him during his power, which had it been tested on consoles, I feel it wouldn't have been needed today.

  • I'm just hoping and praying they finally give console players the 60 FPS we need. And, a fix to playing Demogorgon causing the FPS to dip everytime Demo decides to growl a little

  • @FabV said:

I'm just saying that the vision of the game by their makers has changed, according on the intro.

It was hide and seek, scary for survivors, now it's cat and mice. Survivors aren't supposed to fear killers anymore.

I get what you mean. It could just be that Yui just doesn't fear the Oni. She seems to be the kind of girl who lives for the rush since she's a racer, so to be confronted by a 10FT Demonic Samurai creature, this could be just her accepting the challenge.

  • Judging on past updates, I'd say it would be 11am ET (30 mins from this post)

  • I mean, it's an intro video. It doesn't change the overall gameplay or objective of the game. It just shows the new content that got added in, which I think is a great idea. It shows players the new chapter intro for anyone who might have missed it, or didn't know it was released

Saminations Parody of Dbd has ruined me. Every time I think of a character, I instantly hear the voices that Samination used for them. I especially love their Dwight, Claudette, Trapper(the best), and Wraith.

Yes. Everytime I play Trapper I end up singing his theme tune as I place traps, or when playing as Wraith I always say a Ding Ding when I uncloak. We need those voices as a DLC. I'd throw money at BHVR for that voice pack!

  • I find a vast majority of people I go against are usually pretty nice after the match. I'm on Xbox so we don't get a post-game chat, but when I do get messages, it's usually GG and praising me on how I played. Of course, you do get the occasional toxic message about how I cheated or abused X perk to win, but those same people are the ones who like to taunt and gloat about how they dropped a pallet on me, then proceeded to mess up and be downed. Overall, the community on this game isn't too bad, but I guess that's because I prefer to stay in the mid-ranks to avoid it

  • IMO, a Killer is only as powerful as you make them. Too many people complain when they can't rely on certain factors of a killer when they're changed, and that's the issue. They need to adapt a situation, not brute force it.
