It's a nice counter to NOED for one, and Bloodwarden. Having a gate 99 let's you basically get a survivor free, then boom, doors open and we can get out. Otherwise, we get a campy killer who must have that kill because 'reasons'
-
This is one of the huge reasons I liked having the rank displayed, along with character level. It let me see a new player, and at least then, I could sort of distract killers or help lead to a gen. But you are right in the difficulty for a new player. I tried to get my friend into the game recently and he struggled with the skill checks, and with a killer taking advantage of this, he couldn't take the time to learn properly

"Enjoying the game and working on generators" lmao, you get points for interacting with the killer, escaping chases, helping other survivors...
That's why there is a lack of killers, because everybody likes being a ninja and just escaping without getting pips.
I'm sorry but are you playing the same game as the rest of us? There's been way more killers than survivors lately. And now the event started, killer queue times seem to have just flown sky high. As for escaping without pips, really? Every single survivor I meet in a game isn't satisified unless they get at least 2 pips

Console DBD's skillchecks are hardcore delayed, full of lag, etc, makes hitting one hard when it's buggy and drops frames on one, I guess it's just me.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/959962#Comment_959962
Exactly! I've done better ever since, but not having Ruin doesn't make you feel a need to hit the skill check so it might be that too why it may be harder for me.
It's frustrating. I've learned to time it a little better, but the delay is still annoying to deal with. It even happens with vaults or pallets too, which makes life tougher too, but I guess we just gotta adapt until consoles finally see a decent FPS rate
-
During a DBP as Killer, I always just go for points. I make it pretty obvious too when I just hook each once for my BBQ points, then let them heal after hits, focus gens, etc. Overall, I just want everyone to earn as much as possible since survivors don't get decent BP boosting perks
-
I struggle more with red than white, mainly because I'm trying to hit the Great on a Ruin check, but since console has a slight delay, I end up panic pressing too early and set off the gen. Whites however I seem to be able to do easily.

it is sad that probably many people here on the forum are about 30 years old, I am very young, only 21, but I have the impression that most people here behave like children. At least, that's how I get reading this type of posts...
It's a sad world we live in these days. Can't do anything, even in a game, without offending the special snowflakes. Devs need to add in some tissues for those moris for when the survivors come to cry about them.

Why I run DS, and Unbreakable. Not to BM the killer, but to save myself from farming Neas and Claudettes.
It's times like that I really wish I had DS. Unfortunatly, I don't own the DLC for it (Yet), and I missed it on the Shrine. But that is going to be the one perk I'll be getting next

Looks like your girlfriend has a brain and know how to use stupid mistakes that survs make into her advantage. And they can be boostes by other survs while they only do gens and when the stronger survs are out of game they simply fall to 15-20 rank where they should be in the first place. Sadly there is no way for stoping boosting.
Sad but true. The way matchmaking is right now, half of these 'Red' ranks I encounter act like headless chickens. It's way too obvious now when these high ranks were just thrown into a match with actual high ranks. I really hope this matchmaking thing is fixed soon cause it's just not fun going against survivors that shouldnt be that high with their current skill

Sadly, DbD is in such a buggy state that dc penalties also punish people who haven't done anything wrong and got kicked from the game.
So we can choose between
a) punish everyone, including those who did nothing wrong
b) punish nobody, including those who dc intentionally
c) the devs make huge improvements on the game, then proper dc penalties can get implemented
However, I have doubts about option c). No offense, but people getting kicked from matches has been a problem for ages. It doesn't look like the devs can solve this problem.
The connection issue is getting pretty annoying as of late. I'm on Xbox, and I'll have my game just freeze for a few seconds to then tell me there was an error and boot me to the title screen. And it has happened multiple times in a day. So BHVR really need to fix these servers before these timeout things go into effect because, as you say, it's unfair for people when it's out of their control

For me that's always Neas.
My Nea's are always darting for the saves even when the killer is only feet away from me. I swear, there was a lobby of 3 at one point and it was like the Finding Nemo seagulls at one point to who could get me off the hook first
-
You had Borrowed Time. You could have easily taken a hit to stall the killer long enough, but it seemed like you were far too eager to just race out the door. So, no offence, but you can't just blame the other teammates, who clearly tried their hardest to help you, for you dying
-
Most likely because Lery's is the Doctors map, and let's face it, Lery's isn't the best place for survivors in a chase. It's far too easy to get stuck on the beds or other decor scattered around the place. It just feels too cluttered and gens are far too spread out imo
-
Now, not to be judgy, but was the follower a Claudette? Because I swear EVERY single game I always have that 1 Claudette that likes to either hide in a bush, follow the killer with a flashlight, or sit on a hatch waiting for you to die. No offense to Claudettes out there, but most I meet are just ughhh!

I think better totem placements is what is needed. Some maps like all of Freddy's varients and some Yamoka ones are pretty decent at hiding them inside nooks blocked by rocks and grass.
Some maps tho do need better ones. Like on Crotus Prenn, why in the right mind would you want a totem to be in the middle of nowhere next to a single tree or just standing alone in the field screaming "here I am! Break me please!"
Thankfully they are reworking each map to fix these issues but it would've been nice to have had them fixed in the beginning.
Staying hidden for the first min is a good idea but then survs would just break every totem they see and potentially break another totem like Devour. Unless it worked like NOED's totem placing
Crotus was the one reason I left Hex perks behind. The Hex just popped up into the middle of the open and I just stood looking at it for a few seconds just shocked that someone on the dev team though that was a great place for a totem to hide. You're right about the other maps though. When I play Survivor I have touble locating some. Hawkins is also a nightmare for me since I can never remember where totems can spawn
-
As much as I loved the FNaF series, please for the love of god no. Freddy had a good run, but as others have said, it just wouldn't fit into the game. That, and the fact the Entity would essentially be taking childrens spirits to turn them into murder machines. A little too dark imo

This is one of the main issues this game has. Poor map design and maps that are either surv sided or killer sided with strong tiles. Even the fact your ruin was destroyed early making a perk useless within the first minute (imma assume it was broken instantly) although Hexs are very strong they can be powered through so it would be great if they had like.. A minute or so of it's curse as a guaranteed aftereffect if broken too early.
I'm sorry you had to endure that. Truly
This is one of the many reasons I refuse to take Ruin with me on any killer. Survivors just seem able to home in on it within a minute of the match starting, especially when it's just sitting out in the open for the world to see. Hex perks would work so much better if they just stayed hidden for the first minute or two before being able to be spotted. At least then, killers would have a little more chance against genrushing
-
You complain about Ghostface being able to silently hit you, but so can Myers if he stays in T1. Pig can stealth and do the same. Demo and Hag can teleport and be undetected for a few seconds. You can't just say 'X killer is bad because I can't see them coming or hear them'. Ghostface can be heard easily coming. His footsteps can be heard or rustling nearby. As for catching him off guard, that's his weakness. Knocking him out of his power stops Stalk and he can't mark you for a 1-hit anymore until the power comes back
-
Wait, a survivor who wants to make killers tougher?! 2020 truly is the end!
But let's face it. If the terror radious ever was removed, survivors would rise with pitchforks and torches and start complaining that killers were now too OP.
-
Can someone please explain why there are these weirdo killers in my lobby simulator?!
Seriously though, I've had to wait nearly 10 minutes per match on Xbox at Rank 6. Have all survivors literally died or something?!
-
I always assumed they were sorta linked. I use headphones when playing, so whenever I hear either they always seem to get slightly louder as they come closer. Not hugely louder, but enough to know they're getting closer
-
Personally the whole emblem system I think is just a way for people to show off. I just try for the points. If I rank or derank, so be it. I can live with it
-
The matchmaking system is bugged right now. Pretty sure everyone knows this by now. As for queue times, Survivors are taking forever, but killers are pretty much instant. I'm guessing people wanna play more Killer since poor low ranks are easy prey right now
-
I think it's just a double BP event. As far as I'm aware, no special boost items are in the bloodweb.

If this doesn't highlight a serious issue, I don't know what is. A yellow rank against Purple and Red? They might as well have just opened the exit right at the start. Really hope this gets fixed ASAP!
-
First I've heard of this bug. Were you sick/broken or was the locker infected at all? Something like that could have triggered the issue. Probably best to report it, though hopefully it's not a major bug like the basement void one
-
People who lose in this game are always looking for someone else to blame other than themselves. Don't let it get to ya. I had a Meg on hook right beside me earlier, and I was hiding behind a barrier while Spirit kept wandering very close by. Because I didn't get them off the hook within a second of it happening, they DC'd and I got told I was an idiot and I can't play the game right. I mean, between saving a hooked survivor and being downed myself, or waiting for a safe moment, I know what I'm choosing.

You should try running inner strength instead it's a nice backup incase teammates won't heal you. Plus it incentivizes cleansing totems and stopping noed.
Thanks, I'll work for that perk next. Should prove handy

Ahh, RNG strikes again. I can't begin to to tell you how many hundreds of thousands I've spent going through Bloodwebs for certain Survivor/Killer perks. It's all chance and you got the bad part of it unfortunatly

After a while you will realize just how ######### his power is. missing feels horrible due to how long that animation is and how little you can turn. I thought the same thing of possibly sticking through it all but god damn does he feel so awful to use. He is honestly a fun concept and design but he is just so damn unrewarding to use that I regret loving the guy. Damn now I know how legion mains feel
I was verging on either Oni or Legion, and I though, meh, why not. I wish I could go back 5 hours and slap myself for it. Plus side: Yui, so at least some part of the DLC is getting use! But you're right on his power. I thought I was just bad at first, but after more attempts it's so damn hard to even try hit a survivor, especially when it stun locks at a wall
-
I only use my offerings to burn out the excess I have on my P3 GF. I have far too many offerings now, but most times they're just useless to use. I usually just use the +X% BP ones when I get them, since that's all that's useful for me

You'll get use to his turning over time it's part of his learning curve an perks I'd recommend are ruin, nemesis, an play with your food, an for the 4th perk you can pretty much run whatever perk you want like bbq for bloodpoints
I was thinking about using some Myers perks. I'll keep practicing with the turning, and hopefully I'll master it. Thanks :)

Those must've been some long breaks over the year. Sabo squad is a funny meme not a toxic tryhard build.
If you find it funny, more power to you. I play my games for fun, not for idiots to copy some internet post
-
I despise people who do that crap. I've had a Jake literally follow ahead to each hook ready to break them on me allowing the survivor run free. I don't mind a couple of sabo'd hooks, but when they literally trailblaze the map to break every single one, there's a serious design flaw here.
Side note: I took huge enjoyment watching that same Jake have the life drain from his eyes!
-
Was the killer bad or something? They'd have to literally stand doing nothing the entire match to be done that fast

Two survivors being pressured with one chase is good for the killer. Get hours please.
You assume I have barely played? I've played for a year now, with plenty of hours. All I point out is how easy it would be for a survivor with your idea of the speed boost to just hop over to a chased survivor and they're off. Coordinate it and they all boost off. As for other perks, they are too OP with no visable downside, hence the need for a cooldown period, otherwise, we'll have a insta-heal medkit issue back

I'd like to know what killers have power in this game xD they are all, other than 2 or 3, weak
I've run into many SwF on Xbox and not every single one is a OP monster Gen rusher. Hell, I've had a full SwF so bad, they went down in 2 minutes, and these weren't low ranked either. Killers are only as weak as you make them. People are quick to point the finger to 'Killers are weak', and I'm guilty of it myself in the past. But you just gotta adapt and try a different strategy. People seem to try constantly brute force against survivors, but let's face it, that never works well.

I do as Demogorgon more than any other killer, for whatever reason (xbox). i posted it in the bug section of the forums but doesn't seem like that area gets much attention
Same issue for me with Demo, also Xbox. I've also noticed on other killers and survivors there seems to be a very short freeze for a second for me, then back to normal. Not sure if it's a framerate issue, but it's been happening a lot for me lately. Usually at least once per match
-
I like the idea. I've always wanted to watch my friend who just started playing in a match alone just so I could be 'that guy' and comment on everything he does wrong haha
-
The character would be down to Valve allowing BHVR to use him, but I'd love to see him included. He was one of my favourtes. As for Perks, Protection sounds good. Would certainly help against the more campy killers, but Signal and Cheeseburger could be abused easily. You could just have people with Signal nearby another survivor in a chase and boom, they get away easily. If they maybe had a cooldown, then they would work a little better, but overall I like the idea
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I definitely think Demogorgon in general just lacks an identity. He's not really good in a chase due to how extremely linear shred is, and his portals get closed wayyyyyyyy too quickly. He's just kind of...there. I don't know that I'd make the portals permanent, but there should be a real downside to closing them, like Oblivious for 40 seconds, or something.
Agreed. I love Demogorgon but as a killer in general he's just lacking. I can get kills, but the survivors always zone in on portals so fast you barely get a chance to realise they're closing it until it's way too late. The oblivious effect should be a thing to give them more use than a quick A to B before a survivor closes it

That was probably me, i suck as survivor but i somehow wound up in the red ranks.
Seems way too easy to pip as survivor (especially in comparison to killer)
I've noticed pipping as Survivor is way easier too. I'm literal garbage at loops and chases. I can maybe get lucky and distract the killer for a minute or so, but even then I seem to gain a pip or 2 at the results.
-
@Thomasthetrain said:
It's not always possible to use your "eyes and ears" to hide from a killer, especially if it's a stealth killer.
Just because it doesn't suit your playstyle doesn't mean that others won't find it necessary or great in their builds
This sums it up for me. I always play the game with headphones, but even then, once that gen starts going louder, it gets tricky to even hear the terror radious, let alone the breathing/footsteps of a killer coming close. So, Spine Chill is a huge advantage at times to let me sneak away and get a slight headstart on a chase
-
I've only noticed a killer will camp in EGC when there are still 4 survivors alive. So if they do camp a survivor while EGC is active, I'd honestly just take the loss and leave. You can't save everyone unfortunately :(
-
Level 96, Xbox one. No devotion yet, but I'm hoping to at least hit 1 before the new year hits. Been playing for a year now, but with a lot of breaks in between
-
I only use Self-Care since I play with randoms, and let's face it. They abandon you the second they even smell the killer nearby. So for me, being able to heal comes in handy, but overall, I'll always try to get a teammate to heal me. If they stop running a marathon across the map that is
-
I've noticed its always the Red ranks who act this way, or send these kinds of messages. I had the same experience from a 4-man SwF yesterday on Xbox. They all went down like potatoes, all hooked and killed and I got nothing but abuse over messages. I think these Red ranks beleive they're the gods of the game, and if you even manage to scratch them, their ego can't take it. It's quite cute when they rage quit, and I personally just laugh it off but the behaviour of these idiots can't continue. Especially ones who sent you messages like that. It's 2019 (Almost 2020) and this cyber bullying over a freakin game needs to be addressed!
-
If a survivor isn't toxic in the final moments, I usually down them, then carry them off to a hatch, or let them escape to a door. But, if a survivor acts toxic, or sits on a hatch as a teammate dies on hook, you can bet they're going to a hook for that. I've also had moments where a survivor messes up on a pallet and ends up back beside me. I never attack them at that point, and let them get away since it would be a little unfair for them. I like to keep my matches nice and fair. However, I have seen other survivors pull the exact same trick on me against a killer. I had a Claudette who REALLY wanted a hatch escape, to jump from behind a rock at a pallet and block me, so the pallet drop forced me backwards to the killer. The killer must of felt bad for me and just hunted down the Claudette and let me go. So, I Guess most decent killers have the sympathy to let the final survivor leave.

It's nice when people play killer for the first time and see just how tough it can be for a killer. I used to only play Survivor when I began, and the moment I played as a killer, I felt karma hit me a little too hard.
