Granted I'm a low rank killer but I'm having fun with the game...just dreading ranking up:(
I was in your position just a month ago. I was so scared to even go past Rank 10 for fear of the Red rank loop gods. But, then the Matchmaking broke down, and now I haven't even got a choice. I despise the game as a high-rank, both Survivor or Killer. The higher you go, the more tryhard the other side seems to become. It's tiresome, and a game is supposed to be fun, not frustrating.

I think it's kinda dirty myself, like jumping on those rocks that killer can't reach but am dealing with it. The worst part is that withou the pickup vacuum it can take a bit longer to pick them up than it should if they crawl into a couple spots on the hay
I thought it was a pretty sneaky move when a GF just waltzed right on over it toward me. I didn't know if I should congratulate him or rage for it. Either way, it's a pretty good play to avoid being hit attempting to vault as normal
-
You'd have to decide for yourself overall. It's a Hex so it's not a guaranteed activation if all totems are destroyed before the Gens complete, so it's a risky take. Give it a try and see if it helps your playstyle.

It's also the entitlement that they are having to relearn the character which has its own learning curve just like anything else. It's an absolute improvement.
Well, it's an unwritten rule these days: 'If we don't understand it, it's too OP'. Personally I love going against and playing as Doctor. He's a refreshing change to the usual 1-hitters or M1 spams. I love a good challenge and Doctor gives it so well

I love to T-Bag as GF against a cocky Claudette who thinks they're amazing. No better feeling in the world!

Using a Perk Slot is way different than spending 3K BPs to negate Perks.
My point still stands that its up to the individual player to play how they want to play. There are no rules in the game stating that a player can't use certain things. If we're going to start complaining about killer add-ons, lets complain about Survivors. Flashlights negate a hook. Pretty much the same thing as a killers negating the exhaustion perks. End of the day, all I'm saying is that let people play how they want to play. Maybe if people stopped complaining so much about the play styles, the game wouldn't be hemoraging killers right now.
-
It actually really makes me laugh that Survivors will say 'X Add-Ons are BS cause they're OP' but they're totally fine with BT, DS, DH, Lithe, etc. If they can have an advantage to escape a killer, whats the issue with a killer having an advantage to stop said escape? I swear so many people are so one minded, they don't think to look at the other side. I could care less is either side uses X Add-on/Perks, it's a game. We're playing to have fun. One person may like using certain add-ons for fun. People need to stop being so damn negative constantly just because they don't like certain aspects. To the OP, keep doing what your doing. If you enjoy it, and it helps in matches, don't let people make you feel otherwise :)

It is a simple solution: you simply match all the people who haven’t played long and who do not have many perks unlocked against each other.
The frustration is also there at higher ranks when you start a new character or prestige it. I am rank 10 and just prestiged a killer so I have 1 yellow perk. Meanwhile I continue to get matched against even better survivors than you might face at lower ranks.
The problem is, many survivors are now creating fresh profiles to fake a Rank 20 just to take advantage of the begginner survivors, regardless of matchmaking. I had one on Xbox earlier who clearly was not a rank 20, and as far as I'm aware, you can't de-pip past 15. They literally god looped me everywhere, and had T3 perks. As long as work arounds like this exist, killers are just going to leave more and more.

Oh, I play both sides on high Ranks and dont use Ruin since forever (playing with Ruin was more stressful for me, because I need to care for Gens, Survivors, and a Totem and I felt stressed when it was gone...).
And well, Killers are the whiny side of DBD. Because apparently, being the Powerrole comes with the illusion that you deserve easy 4K all the time. That the Survivors Skill does not matter at all.
You know, if you lose as Killer, Survivors are OP. If you win as Killer, it was only because you are so skilled.
I play both sides myself and it annoys me that most killers are entitled babies about losing matches. Personally, I don't mind if I win or lose, it's just having a fun time for me. But, it is understandable that some people despise playing killer when you get matched to much higher ranks, and to top that, SWF who are said ranks. I'm not one of these 'SWF op,etc, etc' but it does make it much harder for killer. I've gone against many of them and it does get to me because it's more frustrating that you can't even earn decent points against them, let alone even keep one down for more than 5 seconds.
-
I've given a few killers a free hook at the end usually when the team was SWF and they just taunted the poor killer to death. I've had killers that flat out refused to hook me so I chose the noble route of sacrafice to the EGC. Yeah, they may not learn but I'd rather they get some points than suffer with less
-
It's an unfortunate truth that randoms have the unwritten rule to screw you over each match. You'll either watch their aura crouch nearby despite the killer being at the oppisite end of the map, or they'll beeline for you with the killer in tow. I love playing Solo. It never fails to amuse me :)

Absolutely agree with everything you said.
I'm not easily scared, but his Tome cutscene is just.. wrong-
I haven't gotten too far into his Lore yet, but just listening to the voice over reading it gave me chills. It was like at one point he was literally the Doctor. Can't wait to hear more, and now I'm really looking forward to that cutscene :D
-
It legit makes me laugh when survivors attempt this. I just stand with them waiting, just saying to myself 'Your only killing your teammate'.
-
Only Ghostface for me. I kinda gave up on going for them anymore. They're just too chancy to earn imo

Surge isnt built to work as it should on most maps, it requires a basic attack and has a hard capped range..that's the real problem with it..it doesnt proc enough
I can agree with this. I usually run this, with Thrilling Tremors with GF, and it has it's uses, espeically if I can grab a survivor from a Gen they were on, but most times, when it does activate, the survivors are directly back on the gen before it gets blocked anyway. If it had maybe an increased range, or a little more power to it, it could be better. Not to say it doesn't come in handy of course, because it's helped me quite a bit, but it could certainly use a bit more power

The devs said there is no auto aim and that it’s just “enhanced animation”
The Devs sure like to name these 'features'. Personally, when the camera literally follows the survivor as you swing, I like to call it auto-aim. I play on console and it's so damn annoying when it does it because it messes up the view. Would be nice to have the choice to turn it off.
-
Freddy for me hands down. I've done it many times only using a offering to play as him since I don't own him yet, and he's pretty powerful without any perks.
-
Pretty much sums the entire game up right now. I've seen a full red rank while I was rank 12 drop to me within 2 minutes. As long as survivors are easily being boosted to Red, expect more potatoes to arrive.

Right? I thought that was just me. When the first rift was active I was shooting through the tiers, but now, it feels like that's been halved. The progress feels way slower.
-
Tbh your argument is kinda failing. We don't know what you said to the person, and you'd only really be reported for something like profanity. So really, you can't make an argument for someones camping when you clearly went out of your way to attack them via message.

To be fair, most of my early games as a killer were me getting stomped over and over, even years ago when I first started playing. You only really learn what windows are god windows by getting looped at them.
But I can see how it would be especially bad for new killers right now.
Oh totally agree. When I first started last year I got owned so many times as Killer. Even now I still haven't mastered the best loops, but with the current state of the game, and matchmaking, it's becoming more and more frustrating for new killers to even get a chance to learn
-
This post just blows my mind. At what point does a low level/new killer get the chance to even learn against a team who can loop them into oblivion, or repeatedly tap gens and the newbie doesn't realise they did it. More to the point, a killer being placed against that kind of skill level would only lead to them quitting the game. Nobody likes coming to a game feeling like thats the only thing that awaits them.

The entity feeds off hope, it's also "why" the hatch exists, if the survivors have no hope of survival, the entity doesn't feed.
Huh. Well then, I need to start removing some of this hope! Little too much of that stuff these days!
-
The true question is why does the Entity allow these wooden abominations to even exist if she wants us to murder these survivors?
-
Doctor was one of my absoulute favourites when I first started the game, but as I climbed ranks, he felt worse and worse. Now, the rework hits, I've returned to my favourite. Static Blast, combined with Add-ons and Perks to increase the TR makes it super easy to track down hiders. Combining that with Iridiscent King for the ability to add each Add-on effect per shock attack, mmm. The craziness it brings is glorious, and there are a fair few high rankers that seem to struggle against all these effects. I've seen Gens explode more from the counter-clockwise effect, or survivors dropping pallets everywhere in fear of the eternal TR effect. I love Doctor now, and with the added lore with him, I couldn't ask for more!
-
I feel like it could be a good perk combined with Thantaphobia and maybe Dying light. Slows down that healing a lot more. And when we get some nice potatoes self-caring in corners? I see a target ;)
-
I'm really starting to question the existence of a 'bug' with matchmaking, and thinking it's just that because survivors are all easily red ranked these days, that's all that's left in the game!
-
I like to leave the savior slugged to try draw others toward the area. I don't camp by any means, and if the hooked survivor gets away, I wont go hunting them down. They just get replaced with the downed player.
-
I mean it is frustrating when hooks are destroyed, but so is getting tunneled by a killer so... Just play as you do. Sabo'ing is a tactic. It's not like you cheated, or were literally waiting for the killer to arrive to destroy the hook. Just let salty players be salty I say.

I noticed this too. Just had a match as Demo on Lery's and everytime I used my portals, the screen blacked out randomly. Never got frozen but I wasn't able to see injured survivors with my add-on because of this. Not sure if it was just the map itself or other maps, I haven't tested it on others.

I would like to add 1 more. Idk if this is general, but this isat least a PC issue.
4. Sounds balancing. When I am not in a chase, it is honestly a good experience. When I am in a chase, I cannot hear anything. I have lost survivors in multiple chases because I cannot hear them, even if they do not have iron will.
Same issues with Xbox too. I've had survivors being hit during chases and not make a single sound, or I will literally stand right beside an injured survivor and zero sounds, and no Iron Will. It's making the game for killer even more frustrating when you can't even figure out where they are with sounds glitching out
-
I'd be sad, but happy too. For me, this is the only game of it's type I enjoy on console, F13 just doesn't do it for me. DbD felt fun, and the horror aspect is something I loved when I first played it. But now, after a year of just doing Gens, or smacking people and sacraficing them, it's gotten a little stale. There's no challenge anymore. Unless they seriously start adding some new objectives into the game, I wouldn't look back if the game did end.
-
Currently loving Doctor with Iridescent King, a Calm add-on, combined with Distressing T3. Combined with Static Blast it creates a literal madhouse of status effects on all survivors. It's so much fun to see survivors begin to panic when they start having each effect hitting them. Honestly the most fun I've had as Killer for so long!
-
As Survivor, as long as I earn a decent amount of points, and contributed, or at least made progress in a challenge, it's a good game.
For killer, just earning BP is enough. I don't go into Killer hoping to win, just to have some fun, and mess with survivors. And with the new Doctor, I just send them all crazy for fun :D
-
It's already a known issue.

Rank Achievements Unlocking Randomly

Decisive Strike does not stun the killer sometimes
We are looking into scenarios where Decisive Strike does not stun the killer in spite of succeeding the skill check. If you create a bug report, please be sure to let us know which killer you were playing against when this happened.
You won't be banned or anything, so no need to worry.

I usually let the final survivor live via exit or hatch depending on how they play those final moments. If they leave their teammate to die on a hook and spend that time hiding in a locker 5 feet away from the hatch, you're going to die. If they make a good attempt at trying to save, or are generally a decent player, they get to live to tell the tale. But, if it's a Claudette T-Bagger, you're not leaving alive no matter what :)

@Hex_ToasterBath said:
We need to start playing the survivors at their own game, complaining until we get what we want. We need to stop being the silent majority and be the loud majority. We need to spam the devs, the forums, and the YouTube page and since it works for the survivors, they might listen.
Pretty sure most killers have done this, and in a way less entitled way than Survivors have, but we still get the screw end of the stick. Survivors seem to get easy wins every patch, but Killers are being made to lower themselves to camping just to even get a single kill. I've personally never used Ruin, I always felt it was a waste of a slot, but going against killers now with the new Ruin has made matches too easy. I actually feel bad for anyone who takes Ruin into a match now. The Devs seriously can't pretend they don't see how much survivors are winning overall now.
-
@Xx_Daniel_xX69 said:
If Devour had a high enough trade I think it could work as a no hex perk. an example could be it needs 5 to 6 survivors hooked for the haste effect, 7 to 8 for the insta and 9 or 10 for the Kill as those survivors would be on death hook anyway. I'm not great with assigning values and all that but I think this would be a fair endgame perk.
This would just make the perk unusuable. Based on those numbers, you'd be relying on survivors to never hit struggle and ensure all 4 survivors each get hooked for each stage. And even if you did, by the time you even hit the insta-down numbers, all survivors would be dead anyway.

I think the best thing people can do is just keep smiling. I know that's difficult even I find it hard and yes I've lost my head before. But I know how hard it can be to keep your head up after being called a tunneling cu*t for the 12th time in an hour. But I just tell them GG and I delete any other message they send cause I dont have time to continue giving into their toxicity. Same as killer I've been called a T-bagging fa**ot so many times. I just gotta remember not to sink low. I try my best and if others did too (not to say they dont) I think the community could lighten up a little
I agree. It's a sad time when people instantly resort to petty insults for simply losing in a game designed to be fun. I think people just take it way too seriously nowadays. Me personally, I play for fun. If I win, I win. If I lose, I got points, I had a laugh, we all win overall. I always get the usual insults after a match when a survivor DC's or doesn't like the fact that they went down easily, but as you say, you move on. It's just a shame more people didn't share this view point. The community would be a better place for it!
-
It's nice to see a post like this amongst the usual posts about how the world ended when Ruin got 'Nerfed'. Honestly, I wouldn't feel the need to use tunneling if I didn't constantly have teams of survivors rushing in a squad for a unhook and pretty much instaheal session together. Not to mention their 3 flashlight combo to save their friends, along with BT and DS. If they're willing to use those sort of tactics against us, why can we not just lower their numbers by taking them down quickly? Of course, most survivors will class this as extremely toxic behaviour, but what can you do?
-
I had a match earlier as Doctor and I found my frame rate spiking randomly as I entered rooms during chases. This is on Xbox. Could be just the map is a little graphic hungry for consoles?

Is it not something that could use being addressed though? Most people don't want to load into a game to spend their match (if first caught) as a hooked Survivor. Even if I escape a Leatherface camping people, I just end up feeling bad for the people who died cause they didn't actually get to play the game. There is nothing more boring than having to make the choice to sit there spamming space bar letting some Killer vent at me or else I screw over my team. Cause choosing to opt out of sitting there and doing nothing will snowball him to a easy 4K.
As frustrating as it is, think of it as the killer wasting their own time. They're the ones who choose to sit there and babysit the hooked survivor for fear their points will run away, so in that time, you go do gens. If the person who is hooked is so bothered by it, they would most likely just suicide the hook
-
@humanbeing1704 said:
love safe unhook challenges also love getting farmed every game
As survivor, I share your pain. As killer, I thank your teammates! But seriously, it's crazy the devs didn't learn anything from Tome I. I'm tired of these 'Single' trial challenges, because let's face it, Killers/Survivors will make sure they either mess it up or DC to stop it. And as for the 5 unhooks/protection hits in a Single trial? I thought that was a little too tough just for a page 1 challenge personally.
-
Even before the patch, unless I play with headphones on, I can only hear groans clear when they're pretty much beside me, otherwise I'm straining to get a fix on it. It's the same with anything in this game for sounds. Unless I have headphones on, I can only just make out it's coming closer
-
It's a sad fact that killers need to resort to this just to even have a slim chance at a win, or at least 1 or 2 kills. I used to despise tunneling and slugging, because I just wanted to keep the match fair and fun, but when I keep getting Genrushers or SWF super Altruistics, the niceness is out the window. Killers shouldn't have to feel like we need to play dirty just to get any sort of fun anymore. And it can't be fun for Survivors to sit there for 5 minutes while they repeatedly wait to be healed then downed again. The Devs need to stop pretending these 'fixes' are going to show what's needed for future updates. The games been out for 4 years. Surely within this time, they realised somewhere that Gens are going a little too fast!
-
I've been loving the new doctor, and I can agree he does seem to move much quicker than he used to. I love his Add-Ons (Iridiscent King for mass chaos), and combining terror radious boosts, it was literally a madhouse. Honestly, I've never enjoyed Doctor as much as I have since this update. Both playing as and against. Despite the huge 'I hate Ruin' Movement bringing a lot of negativity to the patch, the Doctor update hits a huge mark for me!
-

-
For me I'm in two minds about it all. On the one hand, I hated going against Ruin, but I understood why, and it did lengthen matches as survivor for me which is better since a match that ends in 3 minutes or less is boring. But, since Ruin has gone, I'm seeing more killers using new perks or tactics which feels like it's brought back a lost love for the game. I'm still seeing killers using Ruin, and it is still effective, but you can really see the huge difference in it all. I guess we just need to see how it goes over the next couple of weeks.
