Actually, yes. I grew up in and still live in a household where racist remarks and slurs are commonplace (white family). As a child, obviously, you are incredibly impressionable, and that habit would have stuck had it not been for the people I'd met while playing DBD (specifically Claudette) who helped me grow as a person and move past the upbringing I had.
Without DBD I would most likely still have the habits formed by the upbringing, and so would most likely still be racist. Idk how that's shallow.
Shallow was the most tamed way I could put it. Anyway, its not for me to decide whether or not you are racist. But you should probably keep that kind of thing to yourself, it will hurt less when you inevitably slip up if you don't parade around bloating about what a great person you are.

Claudette because she's literally iconic, and genuinely she's the reason I didn't grow up to be a racist 🧍
Also David because I want him to [REDACTED]
What? Are you saying without DBD you would be a racist? Thats pretty shallow dude

I don't really like any one in particular. Anybody other than jane and jeff, because when they are injured it hurts my ears. I like steves because he screams like a goose

I hate that feeling when I'm looking for stairs. God I can't find the stairs. I hear survivors at about 70% progress on a gen. I have PGTW, but I just can't find those stairs!!!

Sounds good. So long Scratched mirror Myers!

trickster one is a nerf and buff in some ways. Just a nerf on him makes him way too weak and leaving him as he is now is way too strong. So my idea was to take something away and give him something else that isn't too strong.
For blight, I have NEVER won against a decent player, meaning the other 3 on my team couldn't handle him either. I really think he needs a nerf. Yes you can say "get good" but I already mentioned that I am speaking on behalf of more casual players.
Ok the zombie thing, I have no idea and I never read about it but multiple times during my game plays, I have seen 2 zombies guarding 2 gens and then when I run across the map, there is another one guarding the gen there. I just assumed based on seeing this so many times that there are 3 zombies. Either way, the way they guard the gens are a bit too overpowered for normal people to handle, especially when you can't find the nemesis' ruin totem and the zombie keeps appearing where you do gens.
But you forget that there are casual killers, and nerfing every killer into casual mode makes that experience very unfun. There are mechanics in these killers that people who decide to practice them can learn and get good at. Blights are downing you because they practice these mechanics. If you are a "Casual survivor" you are probably getting down my blight in 2 bounces or less. You just have bad games agaisnt blight and want a nerf so you see less of him. Nerfing pretty strong killers just makes more play out of super strong killers like nurse. Be careful what you wish for because you get everything that comes with it.

I would remove the survivors wierdo movement limiters and just fix the whole thing in general. In other words, no more spins/ anything that can be labled as "survivor/Killer Tech"

I mean absolutely stomping the survivors.
For me, It's Twins. I 4k so often that Twins are a safe "I need a win" killer, but I otherwise don't play them too often since I don't want to jack up my MMR/bully survivors.
for the record, I'm fully aware how this could come across as bragging, but that's not my intention.
by non-meta, I mean A tier or lower.
I'm just like you, If I get pissed I play twins and win

How like an indian chief?

The trickster one sounds like a buff. I'm confused.
Don't touch blight... hes hard enough to use for "Casuals" as it is
Nemesis has never had 3 zombies what?

If they rework it, I would like to see breakable walls upstairs and in the house of pain

Perks causes controversy among us.
Let's put perks aside and look at the game the way it is, what is not balance beside perks?
Any ideas to change what is unbalanced?
I think survivor movement is the real problem in the game. The degree of movement options makes survivor way too unpredictable as killer and it feels more like a fighting game then a chasing game. So Killers have to make lightning fast predictions while survivors smash spins when they don't know what to do. So I would change survivor movement where they have more realistic movement and killerss have a better expectation of what a survivor can do in movement. I think anything that can be labeled as "Tech" needs to be patched out and make every option a survivor has intentional. For example: I would make it so a survivor has a stopping animation for when they slow down and manipulating movement by rapidly destroying your A and D keys doesn't maintain flow. I would replace this bizarre movement with step keys. So you would have a bit of acceleration to your movment, so a survivor takes like 1 second to get to max speed from walking. However if you hold "F" while running at max speed you can shift that momentum by pressing "A" or "D" into a Step animation that allows them to make a sort of leap to the side and they have to ramp back up to max speed after. A sort or dodge w/o the I frames. Think something like a Lane change you would see in like running games, and the cooldown is the movespeed. This would narrow their overall movement so that its more of an intentional outplay as opposed to being this braindead spin to win thing. This clearly makes it simpler for killers to understand survivors options (Especially when playing a ranged killer) so they can apply pressure more consistently in chase and have a better expectation of what a survivors movement will be. Killer movement is very stiff and akward and the plays a killer makes (especially at loops) are intentional and should pay off without having to stand still to follow this guy trying to get spin highlights for his YT channel.

I would like this game to embrace its more goofy over scary nature a bit. TBH, it would be awesome if we had a Christmas event. Make it so that killers can get a "Ho Ho Ho" emote and survivors can get a "present" item. When they open it in a match they get a unique Christmas themed item to use in game which comes with some special add ons. Oh, and Freddy gets to say the B word

I regret to inform you that I have been shamed and humiliated, and probably won't play this anymore.
Palewater Swamp, I was Nemesis. I did everything I could, I tried every trick to help myself here but it was all meaningless. At least three of them had Dead Hard and genrushed the absolute oblivion out of me. I was running Lethal Pursuer, BBQC, Spies from the Shadows, and NOED, because I just knew I was going to need serious help.
Not even NOED helped me. I was humiliated beyond belief, even standing in the exit gate was worthless because they all saved their Dead Hards for that precise moment. After the trial I was filled with nothing but shame, should I even be playing this game?
This game is not killer-sided, complain about NOED all you want but these Survivors are nasty. I don't even deserve to be salty, literally everything that happened was of my own incapability. I feel like I don't even deserve to play this game anymore after the stunt I just pulled.
Gotta love that press "E" for outplay
-
If the AI is as good as the AI we currently see from behavior we gonna have a problem. So like... is it activatable or is it just like having twins you can't control and its completely passive? TBH it sounds pretty no skill as the AI does most of the pressure in chase. Can you imagine getting at a long wall with a pallet... The Ai just follows the guy and you just loop it the other way. The idea needs some work, it needs to be more than a press M2 and it does all the work. So the killer needs to time its attack well for it to be effective. Initial placement needs to be strategic or if its a projectile needs to be aimed well. Give it some more thought and think with the mind set "What skill does a killer need to bring to the table to make this power work well?"
I could stick with the concept I guess and imagine a massive wrench wielding Robot enthusist killer. And the killer builds a robot, and issues commands in chase with a laser pointer or something. And then if a survivor breaks it with a pallet he has to rebuild the robot. Maybe find a new piece for it around the map. Then he can stay 115%
-
I think deadhard should become what it actually is, a second chance perk. It should make it so that once per game you can tank an instadown from full health. If you are not at full health it doesnt work so its not like mettle. Idk what you would do for perk levels on that, but whatever. Maybe you have to work on a certain gen percentage for it to be activateable and then it works.

Which map favors killer? I have trouble thinking of a single map that favors killer. The one people bring up most often is coal tower, but I still don’t think a killer can win against a good team on that map.
I think Dead Dog is pretty good for killer if you can centralize your loops

This idea sucks. Survivors already have 10 billion ways to get off the ground. Can't believe I just got baited by this dumb post

Who is the best, at countering loops?
Who is the greatest at running loops?
Who is the hardest killer to loop?
Who has the best Anti Loop?
I think it depends on the loop. If we were to score every loop and do an average and assume the killer hasn't pre-trapped it or something similar, then It would probably be nurse.
But like low wall loops its gonna be huntress or trickster
If its a T wall then doctor probably wins
If its shack then I would like trapper, but blights pretty good there
A jungle gym I would want to have Demo
At most main buildings that are not indoor maps, I would want Oni

Its not technicality, its I literally can't figure out what you mean. Does spirit count as anti loop? If you say like who is the best at downing, or getting injures I can roll with ya there, but antiloop? I don't know how to compare

Killers that can do well running a loop or cut it off quickly.
This still doesn't make sense, trapper can shut down loops easily. But so much of that is dependent on survivor's mistakes. So outside of subjective playstyle its impossible to measure this.
-
Anti loop Killer, what does this even mean?

Hey, where is "I Play to win, rank up, get bloodpoints, progress?" This poll is biased towards people not caring about getting good at the game.

Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure if this would work for me. I'll give it a shot, but it's the madness/insanity mechanic that triggers my anxiety. And you're right in that there is underlying trauma, but it's trauma I've been working on overcoming for ten years now with little success. No other killer in the game triggers my anxiety, so just quitting one of my favorite games because of one character just seems... harsh. Thank you for your help, though.
Also, after posting this, my next three subsequent matches were against the Doctor. I had to disconnect every time.
Sorry to hear you haven't found a way out of it. I won't keep prying, so best wishes.

But why? Buff trickster, give him more knives, give him a reload like clown to get a small about of knives back. let him keep bloodlust while throwing knives cuz these walls on haddonfield are killing me

Just take a deep breath, and find a locker. Run calm spirit every single game, and switch to low res when you find out its a doctor. Makes it a bit easier. However, if you have really bad anxiety problems, maybe DBD isn't a game you should play. If I'm gonna be 100% secular about it do some reflection, because you probably have some past trauma related to this. Anyway, hope you can be healed of it instead of being victimized by it. good luck

I don't have a massive issue with Dead Hard tbh. I kind of see it the same way that I see other exhaustion perks, it'll give you that boost but then it's not going to help you for the rest of the chase.
Dead Hard basically allows you to be greedy, it lets you get another loop around a pallet for example - it's not a mistake when survivors do this, it's intentional, they know they have Dead Hard so they know they can make the loop before dropping that pallet, or make the window.
I still think Sprint Burst is a stronger exhaustion perk, but I feel that Dead Hard is more frustrating for some players to play against.
I get that players have dead hard planned into their run, but when 90% of the time that means they go to from a low wall loop straight to killer shack then its not extending the chase for one more loop. Its extending it for 3 or more loops at killer shack unless you are nurse, blight, spirit, or a trapper with some cheeky trap.
-
I think it would be interesting. But if I were to be serious about something for data purposes, I would run a locked map type. So a weekend of just macmillan maps or something like that.
-
Idk, I have fun doing both, but I dont have fun m1ing gens, but thats how you win. take it for what its worth.

Slide tech is very tough to pull off and use in the right situations. If you get hit by it, learn from it.

true!
We, as a forum should brainstorm some!
Maybe ghostface could have one where he pulls out his camera and looks at photos? (maybe a second one that lets you take photos while stalking!)
Maybe Legion could have one where they wipe their blade on their mask, like in the release trailer?
Doctor could have one where he shocks himself and cackles a bit.
Plague could have one where she does a little chant (like the one when she starts a mori).
Huntress could check the balance of a hatchet.
Slinger could hold a bullet up, and then toss it aside. another one would just be spitting.
Myers could do... nothing. (I think that's honestly the best for him)
Twins could do the little hand hold thing that they do in the lobby finding screen.
generally, I'm thinking one related to their power, and one that's a mocking threat.
thoughts?
Give myers the classic head tilt.

Healing takes 8 seconds, but slapping someones back takes 1. Your move

Look, NOED is the only truly powerful perk in a killers base kit. Sloppy is ok, but if at the end of the match when it comes down to getting hooks, noed is it. If any of the actually good perks like corupt, ruin, PGTW, or any of the other good Killer perks were in base kit, then I could say, yea lets do something about NOED, but does someone who is pretty good at the game have to lose every game because they dont want to go through 4 million BP per killer in order to get a somewhat ok build. Nah, just run that free noed and get what you can. Survivors are a team, Killers are solo. If you die to noed in end game, its still a win for you. Don't take it personally.

We all know the Killer has won - we do, but I am fed up of having to bleed out on the floor while Killer goes to search for who ever is left in the game and I can't do nothing about it, even Unbreakable is no counter to this. I don't wish to DC due to loosing what points I have esp if I played party streamers etc Why should I have to wait around, bleeding and unable to do anything while Killer seeks out others and even if I manage to get up, downed again. I am not saying all Killers do this but I am getting fed up, waiting until the Killer decides then to down us all, and hook us all when all I wish to do is move on. I get it you won.
You could run no mither! You will never have to stay in the game doing nothing!

@Gwinty said:
I know that tunneling feels bad, especialy if the Killer is more capable than you. I got tunneled by Nurse a few times yesterday and because I am only an avarage survivor I was not able to extend the chase for some time and got downed rather quickly. As always I forgot my Deseicive Strike and Borrow Time was not enough to protect me. I was the weak link in the team and the Killer exposed that weakness.
Now the problem is: Did the Killer do anything wrong? No they did not. Even thou I felt bad afterwards and was a bit salty the Killer did nothing wrong. This Nurse played to win and the most efficient way of winning is to eliminate a player early. This is even more true now that Killers like Nurse can not abuse "Hex: Devour Hope" as easiely because survivors are more bone focused.
However what happens to Killers who play this way? They go up in MMR and get paired against better and better survivors. Remember how I was the weak link in my team? Higher MMR players are never a "weak link" like me and will expose this tunneling fast. Also if the Nurse continues to win she will face even harder opponents.
What does this mean for us? Well, tunneling players go up the ladder, we stay or go down. After a while you will face less and less tunneling players. MMR took care of that issue in a quit subtile way.
The only problem with your logic is believing that only high mmr killers will tunnel. I honestly got tunneled way more when I was in lower rank because the lower rank killers are not that confident in tracking, so they follow the same survivor and pray there is no borrowed/DS or just don't know they exist. I wouldn't say that MMR is a subtle cure for Tunneling. I would just say Tunneling is part of the game pal. If you don't like it then play a different game cuz its here and not going anywhere anytime soon.
-
Honestly, the way to buff kinship is to make it so that there is some way for your fellow survivors to tell you have it when you are playing solo. Like making the hook aura a different color, or give an icon in the hud. Just something and it makes the perk God tier for real.
-
I thing we should talk more about perks no one ever uses. Like DS, DS needs a serious rework on account of the fact that when killers find me in a locker, I don't have DS and they check anyway because they don't care. How am I supposed to mind game killers into thinking I have a perk that I really don't now? I guess dead hard is still a thing.
-
I'd sub it for an information perk, maybe counterforce or alert.

British slang. "Dead" is often used as an intensifier- EG, if something's very good, you could say it's "dead good", and "hard" is slang for "tough". So "Dead Hard" means "very tough".
Simplified, but that's the gist.
That's some cockney ######### if I ever heard it

Im sorry but I just can't take it anymore. This perk literally is just a survivor crutch because the way survivors use it and then t-bag and send a message saying " get better you trashcan" just annoys me. I know I use this perk on survivor and I see how bad it is for the killer to deal with it. I honestly hate it so much when I play killer because its just a 3rd health state for survivors if they screw up. Its crazy how when killers screw up it pretty much cost them the entire game but when survivors screw up 9 time outta 10 they can patch it up with a bandaid and still come back and win. To be honest I'd rather be exhausted on the ground than to get hit validated every time. I know I may sound like a hypocrite but like I just didn't know how to explain how much I hate dead hard. Might just have to play plague and use blood echo and thana for now on so I wouldn't have to deal with exhaustion perks whatsoever.
Dead hard just doesn't make sense, I mean dead hard... hard dead... ######### does that even mean? Its the weirdest perk name anyone could come up with. Its pared with we're gonna live forever which at least is based off a song. ######### name it dead hard?
-
I don't think its amazing, but its not awful. You guarantee wasting survivor's time. But it you down survivors and hat as you go, you get the same value minus the 5 seconds it would take to put every hat on (1.25 per). So at its worst, it saves you about 5 seconds of game time, at its best it gives you hats you would have never gotten and every survivor looks for puzzles at the same time.
Its got so much counter play though, because you can just stealth around if no one else does a gen until you get the hat off... the element of "Surprise its a PIG" is gone cause everyone sees the hat so they know to look out for stealth.
This add-on is perfectly balanced.
-
I've never been in a situation to test this, but does anybody know if killer instinct works despite shadow step or is that blocked too?
-
I don't feel ahamed, I just feel unlucky (especially when I'm not running meta perks). For example, I'm playing trickster on Haddonfield, If I get even 3 hooks I feel [BAD WORD] AMAZING. Cause that map is super bad for trickster unless you funnel them into a long wall short fence somewhere, and 9/10 there will be a tall wall with a hole in it for them to loop. Sometimes my man just look at the scenario and say its unlucky, because a lot of killer success is dictated before you even start the game a lot of times. Now sometimes yea you just suck if you are swinging and hitting walls instead of survivors, but you get better at it overtime. GLHFNG
