Shadow Step isn't really that strong, though? Removing scratch marks is only a moderately good effect for the survivor side unless you're in an indoor map, and removing auras is good but pretty easily played around in the long run by just not leaning on aura reading perks as your sole source of tracking.
Circle of Healing is strong, but worst case scenario there is just that instadown and Broken are going to be more popular, or killers will just commit to a down instead of hit-and-run. It's definitely strong and might need tuning down, but it's hardly apocalyptic.
Generating pressure via injures is one of the few ways killers can slow down the game, because no one wants to deal with the dead hard that follow in chase. Dead hard is the whole reason I picked up and learned trickster boi

Survivors can no longer heal they just start off broken and killers can't use their power they only can m1
Check this out, every single killer is just a trapper skin, and trapper runs as fast as Judy Hopps from Zootopia, and all the survivors can shoot Spiderman web out their buttholes and can swing from sheltered woods to the game map. Then the killer puts the survivors back in their high chairs and spoon feeds them survivor pudding to help them keep up their health, and they all sing Christmas carols and snack on Figgie pudding while Quinten opens up all the presents and everyone gets a medkit except for Elodie who has to rummage through the bottom of the box so she can play with a left over band aid wrapper. Once the game ends everyone is given a steam refund

Nurses is a good counter to coh but it is a terrible against shadow step. The problem is shadow hides auras as well scratches. So having both on one totem completely cancels nurses.
Oh #########, i didn't know it cancels auras. Well nevermind then. Fk this perk
-
Honestly, pharmacy is so bleh a perk. It only works once in game but you do get the chest search speed. Like wow I saved 2 seconds. Pharmacy should drop a unique medkit similar to Leon's flashbangs, but its super good and has to be charged by doing gens, having big kid chases, or getting others healed or unhooked. Then it be a cool perk, and it would be more of an objective for survivors instead of being a lame tier item farming perk.

Scourge Hook - Entities Wrath
Each time a unique survivor is hooked, gain 1 token. At 4 tokens the perk activates. The next time a survivor is saved from a scourge hook. The entity with attack all nearby survivors within 4m of the hook, putting healthy survivors into the injured state, and injured survivors into deep wound.
Scourge Hook - Cruel Empathy
When a survivor is rescued, the entity silently reaches out within 8m. If a survivor would heal an ally in this area, upon completion the entity will attack the survivor(s) who helped their injured ally.
Scourge Hook - Sacrificial Trade
When the exit gates are powered this perk activates. Upon rescuing a team mate from the hook, the survivor is blocked from leaving through the exit gates (blood warden) for the next X seconds.
Scourge Hook - Yeet
The killer can hook a survivor on affected hooks by an additional 16m (not serious but god would be fun to watch)
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET (pretty sure I have had this happen on dedicated servers already)
Cruel empathy should be like a Shadow Possession Jutsu from naruto. It starts at the hook and slowly follows you for 2 min. The killer can see it's track, and if it catches you you get ensnared like a trapper trap you have to break out of. Idk if it should injure tbh. Nurse would just bend you over and let you have it in the #########

I usually come here to post ideas and see whether anybody thinks the ideas are good or not. I've learned over the years of doing this that mechanical changes never go over well because Survivors and Killers have differing interests. Killers think the game is unbalaned if they can't 4K every game and survivors think the game is unbalanced because they are just regular old bad at the game. Ususally if you post about cosmetic changes people like them and if you talk about BHVR sucking at programming everyone gets around that.
Honestly if there was another platform that had a special emphasis on creative players dreaming up the game that will never be I would be there rather than here. I like getting my ideas tweaked by people who either know more or about the same about how the game works that I do. The Forums are generally not a great place for what I like to do here but hell, show me somewhere else to do it where people actually go and I will

Nah, we need competition for DBD so they don't get too lazy. Killers: "Please give survivors more objectives to do. Gens go too fast"
BHVR: "Boon totems, a new objective for Killers"
-
Why?
-
@Kurri said:
Boon. They are consistent, and have no counter play. Survivors control the course of a match, they can take the time to relight totems. The Killer's only options are;
- Drop chase to snuff totem, losing the survivor.
- Chase the survivor without being able to see scratch marks.
- Chase the survivor when they can heal themselves mid chase multiple times
It's a lose/lose situation when used correctly. Also "You'll run out of pallets" isn't an excuse the game is designed that a Survivor can run the Killer without needed to use Pallets. There are enough windows on most maps, and the strong tiles spawn close enough together to combine them. Like ever run Springfield, Haddon, Lery's, or Crotus with Windows of Opportunity? Impossible to catch.
It's not another objective to survivors to slow the game down. It's just a flat buff, I am sure at some point survivors will catch on and run them regularly as apart of the meta.
How to counter boon Totems:
Circle of Healing: run nurses and make sure they always have at least one totem up. If you know where a totem is and someone is injured just walk to where the totem is. 9/10 times that survivor ran all the way across the map there to heal. Knock 'em down.
Shadow Step: Honestly this was the perk I was concerned about when these were announced because there is no reasonable counter play to missing scratch marks. I guess it would be get good at finding survivors using your ears instead of your eyes. I would suggest a buff to killer that when they are in shadow step they no longer hear chase music. Oh well good luck with that one gang.

Every day I seem to meet a hook camper. These players do not even try to play the game. They get the closest person, hook them and then stand at the hook, waiting for the next person to come and save them.
I really don't understand the mentality of it. When I play killer I play to win of course, but I play to get bloodpoints, XP and the fun of it. To hook somebody and spend the game stood in the same area just seems boring, and then to have to keep doing that game after game just to get a few bloodpoints each game must be so tedious.
If I chase more survivors and get more hooks, not only do I get more points, but I also have the fun of making the game last longer, especially after waiting to get into a game. If I lose and the survivors escape, I still get more bloodpoints and if the survivors are better then me, then they deserve to escape. I would much rather lose then just chancing into a hit and standing there.
A message to campers, go and try to play the game, you may find you actually enjoy the game more. If you are that bad at playing that you have to camp then carry on, but expect people to see you as what you are, talentless losers.
MMR is based on kills not emblems if I recall... hence your experiences

@TheDuhJ said:
So I was playing the plague today and I think the idea of objectives the killer can do to make themselves stronger is a pretty cool thing and it got me thinking about how this could be added to killer.
My thought: "What if Killers could cleanse totems to get super temporary bonuses?" After the bonus duration, the perk would then be spent. Here are some examples of what some perk bonuses could potentially look like.
Ruin: If killer cleanses ruin themselves, ruin remains active for 120 seconds and the great skill check is removed for generators
Devour of Hope: If the Killer cleanses D of H, per perk level 1/2/3 tokens of D of H are immediately added to counter for 90 seconds
NOED: If killer cleanses NOED, a pulse the size of the killers terror radius emits every 5 seconds for 60 seconds causing survivors within it to scream
Haunted Grounds: The Killer can cleanse the totem themselves and expose everyone, enough said I think.
Thrill of the Hunt: All survivors auras are revealed to killer for 15 seconds (including survivors in lockers)
Huntress Lullaby: All Survivors skill checks are invisible for 60 seconds
Third Seal: Don't really know for this one, maybe something like all survivors currently effected by third seal are put into the injured state (Idk about this though)
The ideas are high risk and high reward for killers, I think also analyzing the best time to cleanse your own totem or choosing to just leave it up could have serious impact on the killers game. However, I think for multiple totem builds, a killer should have to figure out which totem is which by current observations. This would be to discourage from the meta turning to running 4 hex perks per game. But how many games you have it that you run ruin and Haunted, and ruin get cleansed. You could say, okay, I will get my haunted no matter what.
If you are at two stacks of devour, you could say "Lets try to get a mori, real fast"
If a survivor finds your totem and you notice, you could cleanse it so you can garuntee your bonus and save yourself from totem patrol.
Tired of camping with noed? Cleanse it and find those survivors hiding from the power
Survivor knows where ruin is? cleanse it yourself and stop the gens in their tracks
Losing alot of time trying to find that last survivor who is looking for easy hatch? Cleanse Thrill of the Hunt and get that sneaky bastard.
Maybe you wouldn't call it cleansing, rather something like consuming totems.
All right, what do people think of this idea. Personally I think this would make the game way more interesting and give Killer (much needed) control of the game.
This is an idea I had back in July of 2019 to make hex perks more interesting. Obviously many current hex perks didn't exist at the time so I would have to update some of these ideas (especially the ruin change). But the overall concept was killers becoming gaining a boost of temporary empowered by their hex totem if they cleansed it themselves. Now that the bases for killers "cleansing" boon totems is a thing, this could be something that happens. (keep in mind that its a 2 year old post, so ideas will be dated)

I'm sure they will release a killer with teachable perks that counter boon totems. I feel like boon totems will get balanced with additions than nerfs

I've been playing the recent update and i have to say, the Boons seem very strong for survivors. One that lets you heal super fast and another that hides both auras and scratch marks, and with no downside given to the survivors at all. Sure, you can snuff it, but they can just get another back up soon after
If it was a kind of 'Reward and Risk' kind of thing, that would be fine
I played a killer match earlier and i lost a survivor because of the scratch mark hiding Boon.
What do you guys think? Should they be nerfed or changed in any way?
The Scratch marks are not messing with me that much, but when the healing was there building pressure without gen perks is nearly impossible.
-
I don't understand why we cant just change dead hard. I feel dead hard should only be a counter to insta down. So if you get hit by an insta down while at full health it just returns the health state once per match. It would be like a metal of man hit once per match you don't have to work for that only works when exposed. Metal of man would work without exposure and we can do away with the whole dead hard I frame BS in general

I just watched clips of Dead Hard's Validation Hit and it's a shame on BHVR's part that it's laughing at mains killers.
First BHVR destroyed Deathslinger and now this, yes, I can say that the Validation Hit has the priority depending on the dedicated servers, how is it possible that when BHVR makes changes, they prioritize the survivors more than the killers.
Really my anger was reflected for the first time in the Validation Hit of the pallets and now with Dead Hard it is a total Crap, I just saw a Spanish streamer called ReudigRuediger where he played with Trapper and saw that when he hit the survivor, he shot Dead Hard and I did not leave him dying, in fact the killer slowed down, which gives me an absolute rage that every day this game is sinking into ######### and they have to get licenses to continue existing.
I just hope that Propnight, VHS, Charlie The Legend and some future Leatherface or Michael Myers game by Gun Media will destroy this game alive so you know how a balanced game should be handled well. Not making it worse.
The fact nurse exists makes balancing killer perks or objectives very difficult since she can essentially ignore mechanics in the game. If they can make the nurse a more conventional killer then in all likelihood all other killer's would benefit from it. The only thing making her screw up their data on her abilities is how difficult she is to use.

I'm glad. 9/10 that i played against just camped with Victor. The funny thing though is the twins are virtually non existent I consistently forget they're even in this game. I personally say good riddance but it sucks for those who like them but can't be bothered to play them
I just hate how long victor takes to recover after downing. After you down someone you should have a chance to get after someone close by, in which case you likely jump on their head or you miss and get kicked while they potentially get up whoever got downed. It's fair except if feels like getting DS'd every time you down a survivor with victor. They should have just fix these areas charlotte can be left, because you can crouch around victor (for some reason people don't know this). Also if you drop a pallet on an inactive charlotte it kills victor. If I were to redo the nerfs it would be after a survivor removes or kicks victor make that have a longer cool down, like 20 seconds as opposed to 5 (or about as long as legions power to recharge). After that I would make it so you can't put charlotte in the basement, and make it so victor doesn't have hit detection while he is inactive (so you cant just block windows from one side during chase. They are not trapper ffs. But then make the downs feel fluid and less awkward and clunky.

Twins needed a nerf, but not like that. Being punished for playing the twins how they are intended is just @$$

Idk about flying, but like a wall running killer I think would be bad ass. Like running up the main building of Coal Tower to run in through that hole in the wall. Or running up the side of any hill mound. Oh I would love that so much

Every other queue estimator I've seen in other games has been wildly inaccurate, usually based on recent data, so doesn't accurately reflect what will happen for you.
For example, would it estimate based on other queue times at your MMR level in the past x minutes or hours? How precisely, your exact MMR? or +/- 100? Would it factor in SWF groups of 2/3/4?
Now that's not to say they shouldn't. Some indication however inaccurate may be better than nothing. But is it important?
I mean, if I could play a survivor game in a minute but I have to wait 15 min for a killer game, would be nice to know

I feel like Dead By Daylight needs to release a killer that in every aspect, is actually scary. To most players, the majority of the killers we have now are great yes, but not exactly scary. I wish to see an original killer of their design that actually scares people. Yes, killers like Blight and Hillbilly with deformities are disturbing, but I want to see a killer that makes me, and everyone else scared. Dead by Daylight needs a spark like this to reignite the horror theme within the game, rather than just teabagging at pallets and running around carelessly because you know the killer is a Legion (as he has low lethality). Basically, I want a killer that falls into the uncanny valley, whether it be its appearance, the way it moves, its power...idk...leave your thoughts. (I also repeated myself a bit a few times, ignore that lol)
So here's the thing... in all the shows (except maybe the cenobites) the reason they are scary is because we don't know what they are and what they are going to do. Its scarier diving into the depths of subnautica because you don't know what is coming and the prospect of venturing into the darkness is a little spooky. But DBD is the smash bros of horror. You know for a fact that another human is in control of that character and the most they can do is spook you with a mindgame. Sometimes I get spooked by survivors. Its more whats going on in your head vs what the game is actually producing in these situations. Now what would be scary is finding out that your mom was playing the killer.

I need the wiki to tell because I have never faced a deathslinger only played as him
I admit to forgetting about his lack of a lullaby, he is the only ranged killer worth using undetectable on.
Trickster effectively does 1/6th of a health state per hit. The only way for a survivor to make you lose progress on this is to escape you.
Mind games are in favor of survivors, given they can look and move in different directions, most walls at which mind gaming is an option there's a window, and in addition to left and right the Alway's have the option to just w away. An option particularly effective against slinger in particular.
Trickster doesn't care as much since you can afford to miss, meaning just throwing knives on the way to a loop is a decent idea. Slinger needs to commit to his shot, which is why it's used as an anti loop tool so much.
Trickster cannot afford to miss at loops, but you are right he can miss in more open areas and juking is a less effective in that situation, but hands down it feels better at tall walled loops and loops in general if you are the nerfed Death Slinger than buffed Trickster all day long.

If 1 person dc's right at the beginning and 2 people brought bloodpointofferings for everyone, maybe consider not tunneling, camping and slugging people. With 0 gens done, ruin up, on a map (midvich) that you decided to go to. With you having good perks and add ons, when those survivors don't even bring 1 meta perk.
For those about to complain: No I don't expect someone to farm, I don't want to farm. BUT one can play differently in a 3 vs 1. Be respectful, don't tunnel/camp. Give survivors at least a chance to get some points. Just behave like a feeling, empathic human being, it's all I ask (if that isn't true for you, just play as if you posessed those qualities, like an actor).
Tbh I wish the devs would punish tunneling and camping in 3 vs 1's when bp offerings were brought. Like there is NO acceptable reason to play that disgustingly selfish if you are already having an advantage.

According to the wiki there's a sound survivors hear when in the deathslinger's sights, and the louder it is the closer to the center they are. Just run away from the ringing.
In addition, unlike other ranged killers he doesn't damage you on hit from the ranged attack, only after pulling you in. This is a moot point since backing up all but removes survivor control but it's weird this isn't where the nerf went.
"According to the wiki" If you need the wiki to tell you then you know its a problem. He doesn't have a lullaby either like the other two. But Trickster doesn't damage on hit either. If Deathslinger lands a good mind games shot at a tall wall structure, he basically always gets a hit. Trickster has to make at least 3 mind games and hit 2 shots per mind game to = a health state. Deathslinger and huntress only have to do it once and they get a hit (except with dead hard and very rare instances where Death slinger just cant reel the survivor in close enough.

I tried him after the nerf and I have to say that shooting is nearly impossible now. If fps would look like this they would be a dead genre. Seriously u have to take a long while to aim otherwise u won't hit survivor but I won't hit survivor cause u r taking too long to aim. Its like somebody holding ur arm while u r trying to shoot. Idk what caused bhvr to change that but I wont be convinced that It was a good decision.
Well tall walls are just harder now, almost like they are with the other ranged killers. Lets be real, Trickster and huntress both have noises that are made before they use their power warning the survivor that ranged attack is incoming. In huntresses case there is a noise notification that she is putting her weapon away. There is no kind of notification that deathslinger is about to shoot and because of that survivors have to look behind them to make a realistic dodge. I can't tell you how often this results in survivors running face first into random rocks, trees and other obstacles playing this killer. I know his range is finite unlike huntress or trickster, and he gets a blade wipe animation no matter what he does, but he doesn't have to reload at lockers which can be surprisingly scarce on some maps.

The fact the dead hard is the 3rd most used survivor perk shows that it’s not a bad perk, sure sometimes it might not do anything for you but it makes up for it when it works the other times. I’m against dead hard, I think people run it because it doesn’t require you to walk around or jump off a cliff. It just requires you to be injured which good survivors sometimes don’t even care that when they’re injured.
So what are the top two survivor perks then? BT and DS?

It actually works better then usual on Legion's FF cause Fun fact: Legion is special where their power doesn't add a boost to their movement speed but sets their base movement speed higher. It's a barely noticeble difference but it is a difference.
According to the wiki anyway. Instead of the normal 0.23 m/s you get 0.26 m/s per token while in Frenzy
