Play with your food is actually lowkey pretty good on Legion.
even 1 token makes a big difference and most of the time everyone wanting to stay injured can quickly make things go out of control.
It takes a bit getting used to getting the most of it but once you do it really helps the Legions weakness of downing people and can't be removed like blood favour.
It's not the best perk on Legion but it works surprisingly well on them. Also zooming around is just fun
Does play with your food work while you are in Feral Frenzy? Speed Ad-ons?

Honestly I would just combine both tantrum window add-ons (Long Guide Bar & The Grease) into one, and use that extra add-on slot for a brown add-on that turns him into old Bubba for nostalgia, something like this:
- The chainsaw is now activated by holding down the power button. Fully charging it up and releasing the power button will unleash the chainsaw sweep. Releasing the power button without fully charging it up will immediately cancel it.
- Reduces charge count to 1. The charge count is capped.
- Increases the base chainsaw sweep duration by 1 second.
- Increases the revving threshold of the chainsaw by 5 seconds.
- Charges immediately replenish.
If we're going to punish Bubba for camping however, then Bubba should be given a base-kit buff to compensate, particularly yellow Chili base-kit and maybe yellow engravings base-kit.
I think you are framing this situation in a completely biased way. Camping is punishment for survivors is another way to frame the punishment discussion. You seem to think a survivor should get 1000 BP for a game because they got insta downed and face camped.
You could camp survivors just as effectively if you use my camping add-ons and there are different ways to use it. you run my yellow and green, then you have to get a hang of timing your chainsaw just right. Combine my red and yellow, then it takes a while to build up your camping game, but once you get those stacks you can camp like no one ever has before. Camp, get 2 hits, shred a pallet and hit the third. I mean you only lose your movement and some stability during tantrum. I mean at base kit, If two survivors go for a basement save even with my nerf you get all three with no add-ons. Two come up, you hit both of them and if you bottleneck the stairs your tantrum is still a spinning death trap for a survivor who tries to run past you.
My goal here isn't to just end all basement bubba builds, its to make them intentional. Not a thing you do because you hit some one with noed and run them to the basement and stand in the corner till someone comes to save them. It makes you think more about what you're strategy as Bubba is as opposed to being so oppressive in this situation that no body bothers with the save and you sit in a corner till someone dies. The problem with Basement Bubba currently is that if Bubba has a survivor he his camping, he is so oppressive in that situation that only stupidly cocky survivors or flat out stupid survivors will even attempt to make a save. And then what? My idea is so survivors can say to themselves, if basement Bubba is gonna camp, we can do something about it that involves killer to survivor interaction as opposed to killer in corner while everyone else does gens. I believe with my suggestions survivors have to think, is he a Bubba with camping add-ons... If not, we might be able to get him out. So like, OMG, suddenly basement bubba is actually seeing decent survivors throwing their hat in an attempt to get that save.
I think Killer mains have this bad habit of thinking they are the only ones who are really playing this game. If you make a game where all the rules are stacked to give you a 70% chance of success where all your opponents only have a 30% chance of success... guess what! They think its unfair and they don't want to play your ######### game. Basement bubba as is means Bubba has to seriously misplay for survivors to get away with a face camped save and even if they do, someone's probably going to take that saved survivors place. You have a 95% chance of getting your objective done, and they have a 5% chance. Any survivor who isn't stupid will look at those odds and say, "aww fuhck that." Now if we make it so at base its 50/50, they say, "Okay, its worth a shot, I'll play your basement game Bubba Boi" And I'm offering a way through these add-ons so you stack that 50/50 into a range of 70/30 or even 80/20 in the Killer's favor. Even after learning your add-on selection from experimentation, survivors would still believe, maybe there's a shot and they are willing to roll the dice and maybe get away with it.

Please go back and read the original question.

I see what you mean, but that is not in contradiction to what I said above, its "additional" to it, because Dead Hard (for reasons that are not clear and rather arguable) provides a very short hit/effect immunity in addition to the dodge effect.
And that frankly just makes DH even more heinous, and why its so "stuck" in meta to the point that it completely changes how chases (and other Killer actions) have to run.
I know, I'm trying to answer OP's question why dead hard is a perk I'm for. I'm not a purist who says dead hard is a perfect perk and shouldn't be changed. I think dead hard working in every other circumstance outside of instadowns is repugnant. It's the only true second chance and exaustion perk that works everytime when you need it.

If you're already injured. it's worthless against instadowns if you're fully healed
- Only being able to use it while injured effectively makes it a third health state.(not the only exhaustion perk that does this, though. You can make the same argument for sprint burst, lithe, smash hit, or balanced landing)
- The purpose of Exhaustion is so Survivors can only use one at a time, so that's not a drawback but part of the game's design. (A cool down isn't a drawback? The fact you can't spam it is why it's fine)
- The aim and timing is not hard to get down. Yes, bad players will Dead Hard out in the open and that's on them. What we're focusing on is the experienced majority that uses Dead Hard for distance, towards pallets, or while hugging a loop, which acts as a safeguard for any screw-ups they make in the chase. (I've seen this happen with "good players" too, so we can rule out the No True Scottsman fallacy. And it depends on luck. If you're injured with nothing around you, your dead hard will be minimal)
- Statistics don't make it any less infuriating to lose against. (Maybe, but unless you're a survivor, what infuriates you is irrelevant unless you have statistics to back you up)
I'm not going to answer every little point that you attempted to extrapolate out of a less than 15 word sentence. All I'm saying is Dead Hard gives you a second chance in place of your fully healed health state. if fully healed survivor with is not exposed, they get 1 fuhck up. If a fully healed survivor is exposed they get 0 Fuhck ups. If an injured survivor is exposed with dead hard, they get 1 fuhck up. That is what I'm saying. In the case of insta downs, dead hard gives back that 1 fuhck up. Say what you will about it, but its a fact.

@Bran Well, its a nuanced post with many layers, so only attacking one part of it is a severe strawman. But you can do what you want, free country and all.

I already tried both, it was on my last build for Legion.
Discordance is good on Legion, but good teams dont stay together against Legion, so its not useful on him.
Deathbound is better on Oni in my opinion. I liked it on Legion but again, good teams dont heal against Legion. I get Deathbound + Thanato combo but idk..
I get it, but good teams can counter literally anything, so reasonably "good teams" will counter blood echos.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2585212#Comment_2585212
Since Dead-Hard is only activeable when you are already injured, it doesnt matter if the incoming hit is an insta-downer or not.
See what I mean?
No, if an instadown is generally active you have a second chance to nullify its effect. Health states in of themselves are second chances. Dead hard is your second chance in light of anticipating instadown. So if a killer runs make your choice. You approach the hook injured because now you the insta down can be dodged. Does this make sense?
So instadown removes a second chance by effectively removing a health state, and deadhard helps replenish that second chance despite the instadown.

If you cancel your Feral Frenzy in the good place in the right timing they have no time to run.
And yes its very good at early game for easy down, nobody expect it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2585180#Comment_2585180
I I think it depends on the maps, but Blood Echos is good on small ones.
Do you have any underrated perks to suggest me ? I want to try new ones.
I like discordance, but if you really are in the market for underated, I would go with deathbound. The oblivious status effect on a likely fully healed survivor means you get the notification of where they healed and your terror radius is active but they cant hear it or predict where you are coming from and you know that another survivor was close because your thanataphobia really encourages them to heal eachother. But if you see a ton of medkits in your lobby definitely dodge this idea.
-
@Trwth I think dead hard is good because it is the only true counter to insta downs.

When I use Feral Frenzy on the first survivor its easy to make all survivors injured because of Blood Favor. I think Blood Echos and Blood Favor have a good synergy on Legion.
Pallets are blocked and they cant DH for distance to a window.
But Im open to changes and suggestions :)
I dont want to use Undying because I dont want to protect my Blood Favor, I use it to disturb survivors early game. I dont want to protect it like a Ruin.
I mean, you have to hook someone for blood echo to do anything, and the effects only last 45 seconds. I get the dead hard is gone if they keep running but if they sit on a gen then idk... the hemorrhage effect is like a big nothing to me so idk... I'm mostly concerned with dealing with survivors who are splitting up and not getting the multiple hits. Like I said maybe something tracking oriented.

For the record I'm talking about the eco-terrorists not people with an meh opinion and don't destroy other peoples stuff.
-
By for dead hard, you mean it shouldn't be changed at all?
If so I'm just curious what is your problem with dead hard?
-
Is it any surprise that eco-terrorist destroy other people's property in the name of saving the planet from the evil horrible sun? Please, energy consumption doesn't even necessarily mean air pollution. WE HAVE SOLAR PANELS. Get a life or a better cause you bunch of losers.
-
I dont have blood favor on my legion yet, but I figured with the change Legion would start feeling really strong. My only question with your build is Blood echo. Why exactly would you use this over some tracking perk or more healing slowdown? I might even consider undying tbh to really make sure I get the most out of that blood favor value. Help me get the Blood Echos call...

I can agree Bubba's current state just begs to be used for camping..
I see you're trying to encourage bubbas to actually go into chase and chain downs but its quite rare to pull especially with the way he's kind of slow when revving and people would need to be dumb to stick as a group with a bubba following them while revving.
Also it takes one vault to completly avoid him and get him to cancel the revving and go to the other side.
Well the idea is to create a realistic counter play to camping for survivors without completely destroying his camping viability. These ideas are to make the admittedly problematic iteration of Camping Bubba more interactive and intentional. Intentional in terms of chases are harder with his camping add-ons and camping is harder with his chasing add-ons. This way its much harder to be excellent at both chases and camping at the same time.

It's a necessary feature in this game, without it many people would stop playing this game.
The only solution to this is to buff solo survivors as close as possible to the level of swf survivors via information, kindred as base kit and a totem counter being the main contenders here. And then buff the majority of killers that aren't top tier yet.
But I do also sometimes feel like some people exagerrate a bit how much stronger swf is. There certainly is a fair share of killers in this game now that can deal with good swf teams as well.
Buffing killers how exactly? People who say this buff solo survivor meme never have killer solutions that aren't completely pitiful.

Sounds fun, is it so hard for killers to actually just like get better at the game and not endlessly tunnel off hook when there's no obsession? lol.
I'm a killer who virtually never tunnels respectful survivors. But if you point at me at pallets or attempt to assert dominance in some way by T-bagging at pallet or pointing or nodding at me, then you better be ready to prove it. If you are the obsession and you don't have an obsession perk, you'll most likely assume that the killer has an obsession perk. Because otherwise you wouldn't be obsession. The advantage isn't bringing the perk. Its making the survivors think you did. So that way they can't know your entire build.
Wow, what a horrible disadvantage for survivors. Except a survivor only has to worry about 4 perks a killer has, as opposed to the 16 perks the survivor squad has. If a survivor gets unhooked and jumps into a locker in front of your face how do you know they are not bluffing ds. Fact is you dont. If a killer has STBFL you will be able to tell because they will never m1 the obsession. But DS is a one time crazy stun that destroys momentum. But oh no here comes play with your food, what threat! pfft

Tunneling is scummy anyways. Also, if youre the obsession but you don't have ds, you'll assume the killer has an obsession perk. Which, of course, is an advantage for them. Both sides get an advantage of equal strength, so imo they cancel each other out.
why would you assume the killer brought an obsession perk? what if it was a different survivor? Also what advantage is it if a killer takes an obsession perk? Almost all of them are bad or very niche

Its hard to say but I think Oni is defiantly one. He is very easy to counter in that survivors must be safe and use resources early on in the game. However, if oni chases enough and gets hits he has an actually affective power (sorry main event) and can punish survivors for feeding him. His flick however still has a skill cap, and is actually easily avoidable in some loops. Hes still m1 out of his power, he can be countered by playing safe, however his power rewards him for getting hits and thus making him more aggressive.
I think you are probably right. Oni, Freddy, huntress without iri stuff and toolbelt. All balanced imo

You are calling someone else out for not providing evidence but you said that "every good killer gets cancelled in the PTB" without providing evidence (I am also going to assume that you are trying to say that they are nerfed in the PTB). I don't remember Spirit being nerfed in her PTB, I don't remember freddy being nerfed in his, and I don't remember ANY actually.
The first part you quoted is a reply to what you said. So not survivors being buffed first but killer being buffed first.
Second, OG freddy, oni, and trickster all got nerfed on release and were stronger in their PTBs. Spirit got a buff yes and it was a good idea becuase no one would ever play an m1 killer that has 110% movespeed if their power also sucked. But Nurses rework was a big ASSS nerf and it went through despite killer's protest. The only thing that needed nerfed was her range add ons, and even then only the best ppl in the game could utilize them properly. Second, the lack of evidence claim is about something someone could not possibly know, that being that 99% of the forum goers are killer mains. Verifiably false

The 'Survivor Instinct' suggestion is exactly what SWF can already do... by telling each other where they are.
Adding this wouldn't give SWF any additional advantage, but it would give solo survivors more information that would bring them up to SWF levels.
I would imagine it appearing just like Killer Instinct, in which case it can be as much of a hindrance as a bonus, because it will temporarily mask any other info like auras for the 2-4 seconds it's up.
The premise that any survivor needs to communicate is insane. People go outside the games boundries to do this. Its not intended and shouldnt be normalized unless you want to give it to killer at the same time.

I play SWF with friends, and we're average at best. Most of us die most games, if not all of us. We don't need any nerfs, or stronger killers.

So you are a survivor main, I imagine there are others arguing with me (i main neither side, play them close to the same, probably more survivor) out of about 20% people interacting with me, that makes you 5%. So already we are above 1% of the group being survivor mains. I'm neither so already less than 90% killer mains. Uh oh, your stats aren't looking too good

Well if you buff the killers first, solo survivors are going to have an even harder time. We all know how slow bhvr is when it comes to nice buffs to killers, so if all the killers were on high B to even A tier then survivors would have to really try every game and as a solo survivor with little communication you are going to struggle most games. Besides, killers are still viable at any rank against even decent survivors as a low tier killer. Solo survivors have pretty much nothing going for them. Also I don't remember a single good killer being completely destroyed in the PTB.
Right, and the solo survivor buffs will go through as a result. You guys get 1 month of the game maybe (not even garunteed) being killer sided and then you get your buffs. MEanwhile going on 4 years of a very survivor sided game at rank 1

no need to watch videos, I played both, and neither were op. OTZ an tofu, while I have some respect from them, they think that downing an out of position survivor is op. If you played agasint oni on the long walls, you could easily avoid his massive turn radius. Freddy was just gen speed problems, but come on. The only op think ever on killer side was when Legion had that wierd add on bug.

SWF strength comes from voice coms, its IMPOSIBLE to nerf voice coms for its something outside of the game, the only way to nerf SWF is by changing things in the game like removing loops or pallets and in turn it nerfs Solo too.
Solo weakness comes from lack of voice coms, if you manage to give Solo a similar amount of information as SWF both queues can achieve a similar status which in turn will allow BHVR to buff Killers or nerf Survivors accordingly.
So then don't nerf coms, buff killer who goes agaisnt an SWF. Making the killer stronger agasint SWF doesn't touch the SWF itself. So give a killer who is going up agasint SWF some extra perks to equip. It just evens the playing field.

ptb oni and freddy were very oppresive and unfair to go against. ptb trickster was nerfed because the devs said they received no data from the PTB. that's just the devs not knowing a killer is garbage. I dont think they did it bc there "survivor mains"
But they weren't tho. PTB freddy was still slow and an m1. very beatable. Oni was tough, but the counter to oni is not letting him get his power and stealthing when he is in it. He can only get stronger if survivors make mistakes.
