  • I'm genuinely curious. What does she say when she attacks, gets stunned and does mori on survivors?

I'm pretty sure she says something along the lines of:

    "Soooob HAAAAAIP!

YOU GET THE CAP EMOTES AAAND

    LINKAAAAAGE

    WELCOME, TO THE TRU3MUNITY

    Shoooow that looooov."

At the very least I understand the two about the same.

Sorry man, if youre running HEX:ruin, NOED, and bbq and chili your just asking for it. No one feels like wasting their time so some OP killer can get an easy farm.

The problem is instead of playing this game as a "team" people want to DC once something they don't enjoy pops up. The issue there is everyone has a different idea of what they dislike meaning you will get people DCing for any reason ever conceived. It doesn't fix anything or contribute to the betterment of the game when people rage quit but sadly more and more people do this because having a civilized conversation seems to be the most difficult thing people can do now a days.

    That you understand meat mechanics.

  • Scratch marks last 7 seconds by default. With lightweight 3 you reduce that down to 4. This can make certain jungle gyms a great way to lose a killer or to make your tracks apear older than they actually are. In high rank play the perks usefulness will drop off but you can still make a few memorable escapes.

It's not a complicated concept. If a survivor isn't being chased, they're most likely doing generators. I know this is a hard pill to swallow for other killer mains, but if gens are completed and you are sitting at the end of the trial twiddling your thumbs saying, "oh gee wiz, they gen rushed me", you probably didn't do something right in that trial.

With the way the game is designed, this truth isn't gonna change. So you can sit here and try to defend being a poor killer with memes or adapt and become better at the game.

Killers "win" by getting hooks and getting kills, that can only happen by having a chase. If you need to constantly break chase to scare survivors off a generator then you are not getting the hooks. You also cannot chase everyone meaning the other survivors can easily put pressure on you by simply running right back to their gens. Sure you won't always have groups who play smart but the problem is how one sided the game becomes when you do.

Unlike most games that balance around high rank play DBD focuses on newer players/low rank. This is why all the major problems this game has with "balance" centre around good players/high ranks.

  • First we get Nea and now we get this!? I don't think I have any vomit left in me...

  • Am I wrong?

I'm pretty sure Myers is the first killer in DBD to speak. *Speaking Intensifies!* 😉

Depends. If you don't count the grunts, humming, sighs and screams/laughter then I believe she is the first to speak full words.

The thing about the "Gen lock down perk" is that it still leaves 5 gens untouched meaning you can still have 4 gens being done and once the other gens pop up then the killer has lost a perk.

I think we are going to see some more troll Doctor players using the "gen lock down perk" to set up a perfect 3 gen strat right off the bat.

  • I play on PS4 but was tired of being called a console peasant so hopefully my new computer will have the PTB up and running soon!

  • I noticed some killers have survivor perks that hard counter them.

I find your lack of DS disturbing.

With the new numbers, it might potentially actually do something instead of turning the action bar red. Gasp!

But the only time you ever heal a teammate is when the action bar on a generator is RED!

  • I will try to avoid DC'ing against all killers, but I personally despise the Spirit.

    Dislike Freddy.

I enjoy a stealth playstyle and its down to pure luck vs Freddy. You cannot see where he is and his power has some really odd tracking that can hit a survivor Freddy may not have even seen.

Don't get me wrong Freddy is a joke to play against (mostly) but he just ruins my ideal way to play.

  • I can not believe out of 4 releases this year they did not include a Licensed killer.

Bought the game day 1 release because the concept seemed fun and I really liked the Trapper as an original killer. This game was not made nor is it sustained on licensed killers.

It takes more than a familiar face to keep a game going, look at the god awful "Friday The 13th" game.

The Leopard – Prince of Stealth

by Bernd Grahl | Jan 10, 2012 | Nature Conservation, News, Poll, Stamps and Stories, Uncategorized | 2 comments

Beauty and power blend seamlessly in Panthera pardus, an animal that seems to have been given a double share of both. As the leopard emerges from a thicket, blending into the dappled light and pads across the leafy earth to disappear once again into the vegetation, the observer cannot help the quickness of breath or the feeling of awe he experiences for this fleeting vision of the ‘prince of stealth’.

  • I would like to know if you can buff the wiggle off timer to 10-12 seconds instead of 15 seconds?

The wiggle bar only exist so that the killer cannot literally and figuratively hold you hostage. The wiggle bar was never intended to be a reliable means of escape unless your team co-ordinates a body blocking/hook destroying plan.

I think DbD has some work to do with improving the games logic when it comes to totem placement.

I'm not really in the camp that find ruin OP, it's actually quite fun to face so I can get better at skillchecks! The perk is also quite needed when the game is balanced around fairly quick games.

(Me and 2 others spawning around Ruin, 2 days ago)

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/924/KDX7ZS3EE4P3.png

    Preach.

This happens a ton when I play survivor and is why I've stopped wasting the perk slot on my Killers. The "recent" totem spawn fix where they claimed totems are going to be hidden better seems to have made some situations worst. I play PS4 and had a totem sitting in the open (on that same map shown above) not pushed up against anything. It was literally visible from the other side of the map. It was also Hex: Haunted Grounds so maybe it was just to troll us haha.

  • Please don’t save me while I’m being camped I have kindred you know I’m being camped so please leave me and gen rush.

I don't understand why I keep getting into survivor games without teammates? Every game I join I see my name at the bottom of the screen in a little survivor portrait followed by 3 WGLF Stacks also in survivor portraits.😙

Which killers are good without add ons?

I am asking because saving bp is my priority atm.

Nurse is honestly better played without add-ons since he power is great and learning the timing of the blink is essential without add-ons changing things.

Billy can also do just fine without add-ons since his ability is pretty simple to figure out. The charge time add-ons may be nice but are not a requirement.

Huntress can do fine without add-ons but feels a little odd since you don't gain any status effects on your hatchets. Still perfectly fine without using them provided your aim is good.

Myers can make due without add-ons but you will feel how horribly long it takes to reach EW3 without a stalking increase, and against really dodgy survivors you may only ever get a single EW3 to pop in a match. He can work baseline but its on the line.

Pig (since her change) doesn't seem as add-on reliant although the whole point of the RBT is sort of mitigated since not having any downside to them (for survivors) sorta makes the ability feel...meh.

Even though I think Doctor has one of the most diverse build sets in the game and his add-ons can be really fun he can still work with just the Moldy Electrode add-on. Sure you won't be great in high rank games but Doctor isn't really built for that anyway.

In my opinion the only killers I feel who cannot do very well without add-ons (or who feel hollow without) are: Trapper, Wraith, Spirit, Hag, Leatherbilly, Freddy and Clown (I've not bough or played Legion so I cannot speak for him/her).

  • I had a trapper from the beginning of the game that didn't chase anyone and only hit people near the 3 gens he was trying to lock down.

He cannot report you since you did play the game, and you cannot report him since defending gens is still playing the game.

Since you had a SWF group my recommendation in that situation is to hit either 2 gens with 2 people each and play hyper aggressive on those gens to keep progress always going up on one or the other as he tries to run to both, OR hit all three and make him work for that protection. If you get hit don't waste too much time running far away to heal and try to keep that gen aggro going. The only killer who can effectively hold 3 gens without much trouble is a Sniper Build Doctor, and Nurse on PC (not as great as Doc though).

  • Iv just been playing on dbd today. Im rank 1 SOLO. Iv played 8 games so far and in 7 off them iv encountered NURSES.

Oddly enough I end up playing against survivors in nearly all my killer games. Its really getting frustrating!

You do, but only if they hit the *leave game* option. If they close application, eject disc , or use task manager then nobody gets anything.

Could have saved myself time if I read this first.

  • I’m curious because when I player killer and a player quits, I get bonus points. I understand it’s to try and compensate for the BP I couldn’t get from them.

Survivors get 5k for "survival" if a killer quits the match, however if they leave by "close application" no one gets anything.

No because some killers need NOED to be played as, and we don't need another freddy nerf

If you're playing a lame killer like Freddy then you are already setting yourself up for losing.

By that logic if you are complaining about a easily countered perk like NOED you are already setting yourself up for failure.

  • @TreemanXD

As a Myers main all I can say is....

    ...this is fine.

  • @BACKSTABBER

When in a match with NOED all totems have their size increased by 300%, emit a steady white glow and generate a small sound effect saying "Can't complain now can we!?"

Once a totem is cleansed the killer is stunned in place for 20 seconds. Once all totems are cleansed the killer is forced to quit the match. Should NOED activate the survivors will be given 30 seconds of immunity to cleanse the totem before the perk activates. All survivors receive old-school Decisive Strike while in a match with NOED.

Hopefully I've created a fair and balanced patch everyone can enjoy.

  • Considering 1v4 is having issues reaching an agreeable term of balance I would hate (or maybe love?) to see what 2v8 would cause.

  • Its not farming its to de-rank without adding to the % of DC/ban system. Lots of games sadly do this sort of AFK thing, but most of those games will kick you out of the match after so long of inaction. DBD cannot do this because the Killer provides the "host" connection and so everyone would be kicked.

    I think there are three types of beeping. Slow (recently activated), medium (halfway through) and fast (almost done). I am somewhat sure they are equally split, so (using default time);

    • Slow: 150-100 seconds left (2m 30s to 1m 40s left)
    • Medium: 100-50 seconds left (1m 40s to 50s left)
    • Fast: Less than 50 seconds left

Without knowing 100% myself I had the same assumption as you. The only thing is you forgot the 4th and final beep, the solid cry of the beeper as it hits 0s.

    * You bring in an item.
    * Killer dodges.
    * Killer gets an instant new lobby.
    * Three other survivors get screwed because you decided your feelings of self-righteousness were more important than everyone else's time.

Is that clear enough for you? You're not going to get lobby dodgers to stop dodging items because killers have extremely fast queues. You're not doing anything to help the situation by bringing in items. All you're doing is screwing over other survivors.

Like I said, there's nothing wrong with bringing an item. Sounds like you're the one who dodges for items, despite your claims to the contrary.

It is PART OF THE GAME.

By that logic so is dodging.

  • Purely speculation but it might be due to Killer-survivor latency with perk proc.

Small game focuses on a stationary object that was generated on the map for everyone, but Premonition has to detect a moving character that also relies on a connection to the game separate from everyone else.

Not sure if the upcoming dedicated server would fix this (or if this is the actual issue at all).

Who thinks it could be a good quality of life change for survivors not to get birds on their heads if they are standing still in the killers terror radius? Theres been a few times where i will skillfully break line of sight with the killer and hide and they are viciously looking for me and if i move even an inch, i could give away my location. Only problem is, if the killer looks around for more than a minute, guess who comes to pay me a visit.....the damn bird. Now my whole cover is blown -__-. I totally understand if a survivor is afk across the map and not moving then they should be revealed, but if your in the killer TR it seems a bit unfair to those who run stealth builds. Thoughts?

They would have to drastically decrease the bird spawn timer since a moving killer would constantly be putting you in/out of their TR. I wouldn't mind it being looked at but I feel this is a back burner topic.

  • @HeroLives said:

    windows now, hit boxes.

These are latency issues and have nothing to do with "buffs/nerfs". Once BHVR gets their dedicated servers running we will most likely see this issue disappear almost completely.

As for the rest of what you said (didn't quote it since I'm not answering anything specifically) everyone wants something different from this game. This community has for some reason divided itself into "Survivor mains vs Killer mains" when in reality its just people with different opinions. This game is asymmetrical and as such will never attain a balance that makes everyone happy (nor do I believe such a symmetrical game exists). Rather than everyone getting so worked up and picking fights with one another we should be voicing our opinions/ideas in a constructive way towards staff at BHVR so they can look into new ideas/changes.

I feel there are a couple keys points lots of people (I myself admittedly at times) forget.

1: BHVR is not a huge "AAA" company with a limitless budget, legions of staff and infinite resources at their disposal. They are still figuring this all out for themselves too.

2: An asymmetrical game will always have balance issues as is its nature. This vision of game balance will also change frequently forcing people to look at the game in different and unique ways. If this is for better or worse can only be decided by you but should not be viewed as a permanent state of the game.

3: This community is not a split of "Survivor mains vs Killer mains" but rather various groups of people with varying opinions on what they want out of DBD. Civilized and constructive conversation will lead to less toxicity and a quicker find of the ideas the general community at large can agree on.

I may be spewing all this "be better, be kinder, love more" crap despite being a bit of a hypocrite at times myself but its because the game and this community are worth (and not above) saving. I enjoyed my time with DBD even if I've moved past it for the most part, and want to see more new players getting to experience what made this game so great without feeling put off by all the shade being thrown around. I want veteran players to remember to take a break from DBD if a current patch is something that gets you enraged. Games are played for fun and if you are not having fun move on for the time being.

Now that I feel horribly tingly inside from all this "Rainbows and sunshine" stuff lets end it here.

Dear people of the fog, and the developers of this massively fun game; I experienced a lot of gory games such as mk, The evil within, Resident Evil 7...etc. Dead By Daylight was a completely new and AWESOME experience for me, but the thing that made me just a bit disappointed was the gore ONLY IN MEMENTO MORIS. For example, the memento mori of hillybilly and The Cannibal (AKA: Leatherface) are the same, same goes for The Trapper and The Wraith, this aside, the gore really needs rework, and it needs more than just blood splatter. What I'm saying is why not ripping the survivor to peaces? why not showing bloody pulps? Maybe I am wrong; I BESTOW UPON YOU PEOPLE OF THE FOG!
I would appreciate it from the DBD team to slightly make adjustments to the moris.
    Thanks
Let me know if you have sth to add

I think the Moris have a "PG" gore level for the sake of keeping game ratings in check. I'm no financial business minded fellow so this is pure speculation but it would make sense. I mean most people don't hop on DBD for gore but rather the gameplay, so to have the ability to appeal to a wider audience means more game sales and a larger community.

I fail to see the problem.

, is not it supposed that every thing in the game should be balanced and with counter ?

I take it you are fairly new to DBD because that has to be the most far off description of this game. I won't get into it because everyone has their own opinion of "balance" and that has been the major toxic dispute since day 1 of these forums.

    (I have 1010 hours)
    I play 40 killer and 60 survivor..
If you do not want to make a discussion about that, it's because you do not have any valid argument, how is it possible that you do not have a chance to use it because a mori? according to the devs all the things of the game must have a counter, tell me some counter for the mori? not be hooked srsly?? It is basically impossible.

Trust me I have been on the dance floor plenty of times with this topic and simply do not wish to repeat for the tenth time my personal feelings regarding it. If you wish to hear my opinion feel free to look in my posts, if not then don't. I'm not discussing it because I don't want to have an argument or long winded conversation saying the same things over and over again. Its pointless for me to spew my feelings towards a topic that will ultimately change nothing with the game or the community at large.

My experience with the game (played since day 1 release) has been that balance is subjective to each person and an asymmetrical game cannot hope to ever achieve a concept of balance that will please everyone. This game will continue to change and things that use to be fine will become powerful or weak, and things that were once weak will become powerful or OP broken. Rather than constantly complaining or echoing what others on the forums say I'd rather just wait and see where things go.
