    Hold up.

This font right here is Comic Sans or am I missing something. I must be dumber than hell and I'm exposing myself right here.

Lol, that's fair enough. We Aussies get that all the time, but in reverse - if they'd waited until April 1st to do it, we would all be going, "but... that was yesterday..."

Exactly. Honestly didn't know people complained about it LOL. I like the new forums look if that's what it's about.

Its just an April fools joke since its an odd "universal" thing to hate Comic Sans.

hello! i'd like to discuss an in-game function i think would be a really fun addition to the game. before i get started, i am aware this function would have it's ups and downs, so allow me to explain my point of view. i know we are already able to use voice coms on different platforms, whether it be discord, something like instagram maybe, or just the party option on your console of choice, but i was thinking it could be really fun if you want to solo queue, but also want some sort of communication within the game without having to go through the trouble of getting through to them, or just meet new survivors! i know this can also come with a lot of toxicity, as well... to counter this, i believe there should be a mute option for all survivors as well as the killer. some people could abuse this privilage by making weird noises or blaring music into their mic-- so a mute option would be nice, in, like, the pause menu. i know a lot of people don't support this, but i wanted to bring it back up, you know? i hope it could be reconsidered with some negotiation. i, personally, think it would be really fun and cool to have. if you've made it this far, thank you for listening and i hope you might consider my view on this function. let me know how you feel about this, but please be reasonable and try not to be rude. again, thank you! <3

No no no no no no no.

I would mute this 100% of the time, then I would just get salty kids sending me messages to not be muted or not realize I'm muted and troll me because they don't like that I'm not answering them.

I also don't need to hear constant cry baby players screaming, cursing, spewing racial slurs, eating chips, heavy breathing as they eat the mic, have a domestic argument with their spouse/GF/BF, blare music, have 100 fans blowing on them or.....I think you get my point.

So again I say No no no no no. I think this is the one time I truly stand by BHVR's idea of never wanting voice chat in any capacity.

If they nerfed Spirit into the ground to make her as bad as say Demogorgon would people still play her? How many people played Freddie before he was buffed up the b'hole? Hardly any and why do you see him constantly now? Because low skill killers can play him and still get Ks...if we returned Freddie to how he was still think these scrubs would play him? You know the answer to that one.

Wrong person to ask that question too because I actually had more fun playing old Freddy. Also check my other responses where I answer (my opinion) the very minset you have regarding the subject.

So NOED is only fair when the team is coordinating ? what about the solo queue survivors that did they part but the rest of the team shrugged it off and got downed because of it ?

Its a 4v1 game not a 1v1 game. I play solo as survivor 99% of the time so I understand the frustration, but if the other 3 members of my 4 person team fail to help counter a potential NOED that falls on the team, not the killer or perk. Nothing prevents the team from cleansing totems unless they simply choose not to.

At this point I think the bloodpoint effect of BBQ should be basegame for all killers, atleast one of the good things about the ruin change was incentivising more perk variety. To many killer players, BBQ and ruin both felt mandatory, only giving you two perk slots. Now you have three, but BBQ is even more essential than any other perk because of the BP gain, with the grind being as ridiculous as it is. It'd be really nice to actually be able to run four perks together and not feel like I'm immensely suffering in the BP grind.

The question then comes to, would you still use Barbecue & Chilli if an effect was removed, and do you think the BP effect of the perk should be basekit on all killers, allowing for much more variety in killer perk loadout.

I either forget to look for auras 90% of the time or have a good mindset of where people are on the map. For these reasons BBQ is only ever used for the BP effect, and as most of my killers are reaching all perks unlocked, it has been removed from many of my builds.

  • @Kagari_Leha said:

I'm not trying to start the 3748th war about it, I just want to hear everyone's point of view, killer mains, survivor mains, both mains, new like old players. So please, be civile in the comments.

I'm asking it because now, 4 matches out of 5 have NOED in it (survivor matches, I don't use NOED as a killer), and I see a lot of endgame chats ending up looking like survivors who died are yelling, killers who won kills on it yell, survivors who survived taunt the killers, killers who didnt get value out of NOED yell back.

So. Is NOED fair ? Or is it all about the toxicity and entitlement of the players ?

Also if it is unfair, I would like to hear more ideas about how to make it fair (while not rendering it useless).

The poll will also be anonymous so feel free to vote, you won't be judged.

NOED has a clear counter condition and offers ample time to execute upon it. Even if the team (or you as an individual) choose not to go for those counter measures the risk of NOEDs activation can then be nullified by finding a single totem and cleansing it.

While I do not find NOED a fun perk to go against as it can snowball a match without much skill, I have to accept that I (if I wasn't contributing to totem cleansing) or my team are the reason it got what value it did.

So is NOED fair? Yes it is.

That may goes for you, but thats obviously just a personal thing. Most players just play the OP stuff, cause nothing else "stands a chance", even if thats totally nonsense. Ands thats why mostly you have to face spirits and freddys, cause theyre braindead to play. Otherwise those players wouldnt get a single thing done, cause they lack skill.

You are correct that some players will simply play what works the best, but by putting a single blanket over everyone who plays "top tier" killers you push them all into this negative view set.

This game can be toxic enough and it sucks when someone who enjoys playing Spirit is harassed after a game for playing a "skill-less killer" and are told they are" too bad to play killers that need actual skill".

Nothing sours everyone's mood like being attacked for simply trying to enjoy something you like.

Now i wish the dev design something that will not let you verse against the same killer consecutively. but with the amount of players playing as killers, i guess that would never happen. thank you for your insights anyways

The issue of consistency (or lack thereof) stems from two possible directions. (My opinion)

Competitive or viable killers - People who want to play with a competitive mindset or push ranks are going to gravitate towards what provides the most consistent results (Nurse/Spirit for example)

Casual players or "fun" seekers- These people want to play the killer they enjoy the most, be it out of fandom or due to the fun gimmick builds they have. I would say I fall into this category. I have played every killer quite extensively and have nearly all the perks on each, as such I tend to play Myers, Doctor or Wraith for the fun moments I get with their more gimmick builds.

Any game will develop this problem to some extent as a "perfect balance" for both types of players may not exist. Call of Duty for example will see many people run the same guns due to the competitive edge they offer, and as thus game-play may become stale if you find dying to the same shotgun every match boring.

If the game doesn't offer enough incentive to branch out and try different things then people will stick to what they know/enjoy.

  • @notsonew said:

Personally it almost feel like a chore whenever i am about to play her, but i always get 4 kills (85% of the time) with her, and when i play her for a few games and it's always the case, i have a good build, i know how to play her, i get lots of points, pips and kills, yet i never really want to play her, and i barely see any people playing her, why is that?

    Do I enjoy playing Hag?

Depends on the map. The reason I tend to shy away from Hag is due to the low camera angle that just isn't fun to deal with on specific map layouts. This tends to turn me off from wanting to do too many matches with her.

Its just like Nurse. Nurse is great and I can do well with her but the constant "fatigue ground stare" isn't enjoyable game play and gets annoying really fast after a couple matches.

    These are just my reasons.

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

    I enjoy playing Myers.

If Myers ever got a rework that made him the top tier killer I would still play Myers.

Is this because I'm "too bad to play killers that need actual skill"?

Nope its because I enjoy playing Myers.

In order for that to happen the Survivor would have to be willing to have a zero point match -and- risk a ban. All for the sake of one generator being completed in a game they would have no benefit from. I do not personally think many people would be willing to risk that for the sake of helping random people in an online game.

And I think it would be far more balanced than expecting 3 Survivors to suddenly take on the workload of a game designed for teams of 4.

But I'm curious to hear if you have any other ideas, or if you think it is already balanced! And if so, why! :)

People still DC to give hatch even with the current match penalty....so while its nice to think positively I'm afraid we already see that people DO still abuse it.

ay boys. you heard it here first. now fixing bugs is just devs being survivor sided.

I won't speak to one side or the other in terms of the "us vs them" mentality but remember that BHVR allowed this mindset to cultivate in their game and now many choices they make leave a poor taste in everyone's mouth.

For example I know the art team and the balance team are two separate things however when Claudette gets 6 new pairs of designer jeans being sold at $10 a piece it leaves a bitter taste to see that 4 month bug still in the game. I don't know/care how long that bug might actually take to fix but the perspective looks really bad.

  • @ZoneDymo said:

Sadly I feel I need to start by saying that pls, dont make this some Us vs Them discussion or bring in all kinds of unrelated things. Im merely asking what people think off or how they feel about, all the info the game just...gives them these days:

You touch a gen, you immediatly get an icon telling you Huntress Lullaby is in effect (even when not a single soul has been hooked yet)

Mindbreaker? the game just tells you and tells you when the effect is over

Dead Man's Switch? the game just tells you

NoeD, the game tells you, you dont need to pay attention if someone goes down in one hit, it just tells you and loudly so.

Devour Hope? again it just tells you.

A bit more specific, Myers still in T3? an icon on the side of the screen will tell you, no need to look at myers, the way he walks which was specifically made to convey this information, all you need to do is pay attention of the side of the screen for that icon, you wont get caught off guard if you miss the map wide music sting because again, just look for that icon.

Probably a lot more things im currently forgetting but yeah, basically as I see it, the game isnt survivor sided in that way, its baby survivor sided, it does not reward you for playing the game a while, there is no knowledge and skill for a player to build towards because the game just tells you.

It also removes a lot of surprise which imo is sad because that could lead of fun tense situations but maybe that is just me.

So yeah, let me know, how do you feel about it.

Hate having my hand held the whole time. I don't want my solo survivor to be like SWF, it ruins what little "horror/fear" I ever had when I know what the killer is running better than the killer themselves.

From all the posts I've seen on the forums recently, and everyone I've talked to outside of the forums, it seems like there isn't anyone at all who likes the struggle mechanic and doesn't want it removed or changed. But as we all know, what seems to be the majority voice quite often is not, which is why I'm curious: is the struggle mechanic really universally hated?

While I'm sure some people feel very passionately about this, I've tried to keep the poll options as neutral as possible. Feel free to elaborate in the comments on why you feel the way you do, especially if you're someone who actually likes or at least doesn't mind the mechanic. I'm very interested to hear your point of view.

(Also, please note I'm talking about struggling on the hook, not wiggling on the killer's shoulder. Don't get confused.)

I don't hate the mechanic as you don't need to press the button very fast BUT latency can kill you even while you are pressing the button.

I think I would laugh if I saw "Mildly satisying game, difficulty level simplistic" in an after-game chat. I could only picture the survivor sipping tea and also saying "hmm, yes reginald, particularly dull and simplistic, also shallow and pedantic".

I read these forums quite regularly, I don't think I've seen one where EVERY response was "git gud". Is there some level of trolls and toxicity? Sure, welcome to online gaming forums, I'm guessing this is your first one? Cause overall these ones are actually pretty tame and the mods do regulate contributions, sometimes a little more overzealous than they should. I got put in timeout for a week for literally typing out a Billy Madison joke cause I was invoking "religious overtones". For those curious, it's the part during the academic competition where Billy tells that ridiculous puppy story to describe economics.

TL: DR. Online gaming forums have a certain level of toxicity, ignore those posters, and focus on constructive responses.

    "Become better" (Git Gud)

"Mildly satisfying game, difficulty level simplistic" (GGEZ)

There I have adjusted the two most common responses.

When I see a discussion of someone claiming they will unistal the game and they do point out the issues with the game all the comments they get are either "see you next week" "get gud" and "bye"

Shouldn't we as a community try to keep players instead of driving them away? The number of players have been decreassing ever since the ruin nerf, and the frustations keep increasing, but instead of making proper discussions in this forum, all there is are comments of people telling others to either go away or to "get gud"

I agree that part of the frustations come from the developers side of balancing, but we as the community for this game should aim to make players keep playing and have proper discussions here in the forums with hopes for a better community

I think a small increase in skill checks is reasonable for Autodidact. As-is, it's just too unreliable.

Problem still stands. Too small and you'll never notice a difference. Too large and it becomes way too powerful. With how wild RNG can be a "balance" may never seem consistent enough.

  • @BigBubs said:

If there is no survivors close to the hook then yes. Why shouldn't it? Endgame doesn't change anything related to emblems.

You can try standing further than 16m away. Or you can try chasing others away. You can try hooking somewhere that will not make it easy to unhook and run out instead of going for the closest hook that's gonna make it easy to save.

Also , hooking is your objective, not "guarding". If camping was the objective then you wouldn't lose points for it.

Well during the endgame if no one has escaped and you have someone on the hook there is only 1 thing the survivors are planning on doing, save the guy. So why would you risk loosing a kill looking for survivors who are coming to you?

At endgame (unless you have a specific build for it) hooking is no longer your objective but securing kills is.

By that logic survivors should not be trying to save that last guy because their objective is to do gens and escape, so why are survivors camping a hook save at endgame? See how these ridiculous "rulebooks" make no sense and are simply a way from one side to force their opinion (or shift blame) onto the other.

  • @N0ob3 said:

Yes thats the problem, if survivors don't use DS they will insta-lose. Any other builds that doesn't use DS is not viable and will get you killed. This makes for a very linear playstyle which I find to be very boring when playing as a survivor.

Devils advocate here but I don't use DS ever and I play 99% solo as survivor. I'm not some "perfect gold standard" player either so I have to disagree that no DS is a "insta-lose".

The amount of "shitposts/useless crap" people who make just to meet requirements would be insane. This would be so easily abused...

  • -If adrenaline pops during a chase you either get a free insta heal and sprint burst or you just get a sprint burst. Amazing results.

-If adrenaline pops outside a chase you get a free insta heal and a sprint burst or you just get a sprint burst "for getting to the gate or wherever". Great results.

-If adrenaline pops when you are on a hook you get a free off the hook sprint burst AND a free borrowed time effect (since you got insta healed) even if the survivor rescuing doesn't have the BT perk. Amazing results.
