You don't do it to an extent. Just like how you cleanse when your nearing completion of gens so too should you be ready to heal.
Also if you as a player are not strong at loops or not being found it might be best to heal once and awhile.
Basically it depends on the situation and having the ability to determine risk/reward mixed with skill will change your game.

Let me explain what happened here
Every time someone got unhooked I went back and downed the unhooker, I got a 4k during EGC with NoEd on DeathSlinger and he died while 1 generator remained, he spammed me as soon as he died until I joined the party and told him to shut it. In which he continued when he said his final words in this chat.
He was live streaming, in which was the final way I told him to shut it.
Can't say I've had this exact thing happen but on PS4 I'd just hit "block" and move on.

Clown
Nurse
Oni
Demo
Huntress

What is there to gain from doing something you find boring, unless you are getting paid for it. The rationale seems to make as much sense as people hoarding TP. People are free to do what they want, I'm just wondering why...
Do you quit things the moment they become boring/stale? Or do you stick around and try to come up with ideas to improve it?
The reason to stick with something you enjoyed/loved ,even if it becomes boring, is to find ways to improve it or to allow yourself a chance to find out why you find it boring and perhaps change your perspective. If we quit things simply because we didn't enjoy them any longer without first trying to find out why or try to improve it then everything would quickly become void of meaning/inspiration. It would be different is you just complained it was boring, offering no reasoning or ideas of change and continued to do the same thing over and over without trying to improve anything.

if anyone finds the game boring and repetitive, why would you waste precious life on it...
People can still hope or make a wish list of things they would like to see. I eventually found Alien Isolation boring because I figured out how the AI works and could somewhat exploit its movements. That didn't stop me from beating the game and even trying to do some casual speedruns.

Not really what i meant by it, yeah he walks on 2 legs but he should also have a crawl fuction. They could still have a beast like a werewolf or something that wouldn't have to crawl around, even a Xenomorph can walk on it's back legs, doesn't make it a humanoid :s
Hag crawls around so I honestly don't see why we couldn't get something akin to a werewolf. I mean werewolves ARE humanoids.

The game is designed to have just humanoid killers. Demogorgon is an exception, that from my point of view should have never happened. I really hate Demodog and i hope that never ever another "thing" will come into this game.
hu·man·oid
- having an appearance or character resembling that of a human.
- "a small, green, and hideously warty humanoid figure"
noun
- (especially in science fiction) a being resembling a human in its shape.
- "a three-eyed humanoid"
I think Demo-goodboi fits the humanoid description just fine.

WHY THE ABSOLUTE ****?! IS THERE A GODDAMN DEAD END?!
Remove that, just, remove it, open up one of the three ****in walls

That map spawns the windows at random, if all sides of the house had a window you could essentially have 2 super crazy long loops. For this reason its RNG based where the window will spawn.
Rather than complain about a dead end just take a moment to look and plan your route.

All this collision stuff seems so odd considering Deathslinger proved how precise (ignoring dedicated servers) they can make a hitbox.

I talked about escaping not about pipping and yes, the killer deserves a chance for a 4k too, thats why both get another go at their objective after the hatch is closed.
And if the potato survivor gets to the end and the killer played well why does the potato get a chance at another escape? Yet if the killer played like a potato and the survivor played well its not ok for the killer to get another chance at a kill (perk).
I care not either way, but I am going to play Devils Advocate.

How do you feel versing him so far?
I have huge difficulties 1v1ing him as soon the player has precise aim. I really can't react at all, as soon as I see him aiming for a splitsecond or hear the shot I'm already speared.
I tried to dodge pre shot (guessing when he would shot and just dodge just in case) but good players adapted really fast to that and now just wait it out to M1 or till you are in a corridor without possibility to dodge.
And I think some deathslingers are using a crosshair, I don't even see them aiming at all. I just see/hear the shot and speared with such a ridiculous precise aim.. Im used to this aim in csgo but not in a casual horror game.
You see, I'm a bit struggling and need some help if someone knows how. I did some humanbenchmarks to test my reaction times and got an average of 193ms on 10 tries and I think this really good.
I'm not saying deathslinger is OP, 1v4 he can easily get genrushed, especially when he misses some shots. I'm more struggling with the 1v1 aspect.
I also play deathslinger by myself. I tried to find out his weakness in 1v1 but so far no survivor was a struggle to me as long as my aim was good enough. I never felt countered, I only missed shots because of my bad aim.
Going to sound stupid but trust me it works.
1: Many good Deatheslingers will ADS while you do your spin but they wait for you to reset your original location rather than trying to follow your character model. After a "dodge" don't line yourself back into the same spot.
2: This is honestly the most amazing because it shows that BHVR can in fact make good hitboxes....DUCK. After a dodge attempt pop a quick crouch/duck, you would be amazed how many people don't aim down far enough to aim for your center mass and instead have that spear fly over your head.
I'm not saying these two things will work all the time but I have had tremendous success with them. The second tip works great against Deathslingers on console because aiming is already a pain in the neck and most try to "strafe shot" and end up missing when you duck.
My personal feelings, but I don't think we will see many Deathslinger players on console in the next few weeks (like Nurse, Huntress, Oni, etc) but I do think PC players will need to learn different loop path-ing. Overall I find The YeeHaw not all that worrisome.
-
I can slug and get a 4k every game but that doesn't mean you got to enjoy the match. Hell as a survivor I can do nothing all match and get a hatch escape, doesn't mean I deserved it or enjoyed the match.
While I don't understand the OPs complaint about DC penalties (as that person will get a stacking match timeout leading to a ban) I do get the frustration of not getting a pip due to the match ending too quickly to fill your emblem requirements.

Yeah don't better, let's complain on the forums over a killer that just released. This is why PC players think console players are rubbish. Because of players like you who refuse to take the time to practise and get better at the game.
Believe all the asked for was something akin to a sensitivity slider for ADS, you know...that thing that pretty much every game has that involves ADS....

Out of curiosity @Peanits is it possible to shed some light on the reasoning for 1mill BP cap and the possibility (or not) that the cap could be increased?
-
New players may be "torn" between the two but anyone who has been here from the beginning (or just a few years) will see how many old cracks are still present in this aging brick house.

Meh, while I think an incentive such as this could be nice it could also bring out the most toxic amount us. Some people will become so sweaty if they don't consistently win they will flame twice as hard as now. Some people will try to troll anyone wanting to rank for skins. Some will simply want to have casual matches yet find themselves thrown against loads of the aforementioned....
I think BHVR needs so fix how rank works before they start doing something like this.

When one gazes upon his Dark Holiness with the eyes of a devotion level 10 they gain an insight unimaginable to most.
When they gaze upon his Dark Holiness with the eyes of a devotion level 50 they feel and hear the Lords very thoughts and emotions as their own!
When the few chosen among us gaze upon his Dark Holiness with the eyes of a devotion level 100 the become a very tendril upon the Entity's cosmic body, forever one with their god!
Oooooooooooh how I long to be as wickedly divine as our Lord!

Double 32 is 64, not 42, but otherwise I think this is actually a pretty good idea. I'd definitely prefer the first suggestion though, since I don't find the in-match bloodpoint cap at all limiting. I don't remember the last time I reached it, so doubling it would do nothing for me. Allowing people to take advantage of the event by stockpiling more bloodpoints would be nice, though.
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the 1m BP limit originally to stop people hacking BP into the game (or rather limit the amount)?
I'm curious if that concern still warrants the 1m cap or if it could be increased/removed. I'm almost positive in the very early days of DBD there was no cap and it was added in pretty early too.

I have never agreed with a post more.
Watch someone call you an entitled [role] main for this opinion though.
The OP may have whatever opinion they wish but this coin has two sides.
On one hand there are people that complain without any actual validity to their claims or do it simply to stay in an agreeable echo chamber.
On the other hand you have the people who actually critisise BHVR and DBD for legitimate reasons, typically offering reasoning behind their mindset with facts, statistics or just things they wish to see different.
BHVR shouldn't be targeted with the hate the first group I mentioned pushes upon them but they are also not untouchable saints. Many of the core issues the game faced back in the day are still present today. Many times BHVR has shown a disconnect between the community desires and the internal teams desires. It also leaves a poor taste in your mouth when you see game-breaking issues take months to get fixed yet 6 new designer jean micro-transaction cosmetics just released for Claudette!
While I get seeing people posts anything negative can become frustrating (especially if its something you enjoy) you need to filter the trolls from the community members with legitimate concerns. You also need to remember that just because someones thoughts or ideas don't align with your own doesn't mean they are being "a salty troll/outrage baby", provided of course that they are not simply screaming for the sake of screaming, and try to take a look at DBD history as a whole.

And according to the Steam Charts, it's still doing just fine. DBD has had higher average player numbers on Steam (its primary platform) in the last five months than it has ever had since release.

Personally I think every game should have an obsession regardless. Both sides would have to play around all potential obsession perks until they're eliminated one by one.
Except survivors get a notification when the killer is using a obby perk so there wouldn't be any guess work. Killers on the other hand do not get an indication.
-
Very interesting idea and it has merit. While I do not believe DBD will make such a drastic core change (quite the overhaul for a 3y+ game) its a concept I hope they consider if they plan on making a DBD 2 OR decide they want DBD to last for another 5y+.
I have also spoken my mind many times on the idea (you hit) that "killers win" condition isn't clear. While I get some people count kills as a win and other consider a "pip" as a win, without a proper and concise definition it drives these two mindsets to have conflicting ideas of game "balance" and probably trickles into the toxic community DBD has gotten.

I'm sure you can ignore it for at least 40 seconds. They're wasting time, quit complaining.
More time of them doing that less time spent on gens, how are you complaining about this?
Why would any killer complain about a survivor wasting an entire minute coming in an out of a locker.
I'm baffled by the question. Would you rather have them spent that entire minute on a gen and completing it?
By that logic then you also have no problem with Mori spams? I mean killer is wasting their time after all.

4ked against 3 man swf. All swf members have over 1 000 hours and there s one solo player with 150h.
They struggled to fix 2 gens by the way thanks to "nerfed" ruin.
But i guess those survivors just did some mistakes which led them to total destruction.
Just to play devils advocate you cannot expect people to take the point you are trying to make serious with a single game. There is a fellow forum user who is taking their games (for various statistics) in 100 game intervals and even that is a drop in the bucket to the amount of games being played daily.

Yet again, I'm the only high rank in a sea of beginners.
Matchmaking just doesn't know what to do.
Throw in a high rank in with a bunch of low ranks, with a killer that is too hard for them, but not hard enough for me, and it all averages out, right?
Except it doesn't when 1/2 to 3/4 of you team gets killed at the start of the match.
And if rank means nothing, then why is it then that when there is another high rank on the team, me and him are always the last 2 alive?
SWF is now the only choice for me, and I'll just farm BP with killer when I want to solo.
Well I don't really play so when I hop on I'm a rank 15 yet I play at (I guess what people expect rank 1 players to be) because I have experience. Sooo rank is still a bit of a grab bag when it comes to skill. Too many boosted rank 1s and too many "de-rank" players or those who have slowed the frequency of their matches.
I also only play survivor solo.

Its not that its "every game" but that when it happens you are shown just how one sided something can be and just how little power you have at stopping it.
Its like being facecamped, it does not happen "every game" however your team can go rush gens and escape but you as the hooked survivor have little you can actually do to help yourself.
Its like meeting a hacker in a game, it doesn't happen every game yet when you meet them it sucks all the fun out of your experience because you cannot do anything (or very little) to stop them.

Let me do the same on Survivor Side once and hopefully you realize how stupid it is. Been seeing too many threads from Killers where they 4k while using a mori with the strongest add ons and think they are good or when they're proud of making others DC by facecamping, tunneling and slugging.
It's ridiculous how you can turn the match in your favor easily by bringing a certain item with add ons or offering (survivor/killer sided map or mori) so you might as well stop with these posts where you stomped a team or killer and had to rely on that stuff in order to win.
Yes i am doing the same here now but it's just an example. It was clearly over for the Killer from the beginning with all this stuff we brought in.
So your solution is to justify those posts by showing how OP and broken survivor stuff can be?
-
@Groxiverde said:
Hear me out. When a killer is working together with a survivor to kill other survivors, it shouldn't be bannable for the killer, only for the survivor, period.
The killer is just taking advantage of a "not clever" survivor to win the game.
So for example, if that survivor unhooks everyone in front of the killer without BT and the killer decides to focus the unhooked survivors and let the trolling survivor go (because the killer knows he will continue sandbagging other survivors), it should only be bannable for the survivor.
Change my mind.
@Seanzu said:
Just pure bias, the killer should just kill the "helping" survivor and play the match as usual, there's no changing your mind, you're just wrong.
To expand what SenzuDuck said, a killer who is working with a survivor is actually playing the match in a way not intended by the devs. You are not "taking advantage of a not clever survivor" but working with that survivor to exploit/skip game mechanics.
If a bank teller just handed me a wad of cash and said "ok now run" I wouldn't then tell the cops I shouldn't get in trouble because the teller gave me the money. I'm fully aware of the consequences and implication of the action I just took.

Tru3talent often yells "Eat my pole/feel my pole" when hitting people as Myers using the pole weapon.
Then you have the old classic of Wraiths door to door salesman (Tydetime) the" bing bong buy two bells get the hook for free".

These are just the ones I've noticed have enough of a online presence to be considered "catchphrase".

Anti tunnelling obsession perk when?
If the killer is using a "obby" perk and no one on the survivor team is using an obby perk then you have a 1/4 chance of getting it. Start using DS if the problem is as prevalent as you say, DS is the anti-tunnel perk.
