  • Scratches mirror is a meme build vs bad survivors.
Good survivors can literally hold you hostage^^

Yes you heard that right they're bringing out dedicated servers.

Second time I hear this now, where did you get this from?

Also they anounced all sorts of stuff already but then didnt hold their word

@Wolf74 Well. I think you're stupid. Hit the survivor while his unhooking and then hit him again? It feels so bad for survivors to get tunneled and then go down again. Thats why they are buffing borrow time. Switch the target and you can play as myers, leatherface or hillbilly to instadown the survivor thats unhooking

You're wasting your time. It's pretty obvious these people don't play enough survivor to know how awful it is to be tunneled down the second you're off the hook.

I know it feels bad, but as survivor you have a way out at least. You dont have that as killer unless you DC

    Upcomding dedicated servers?

Wake me up when it happens, probably just after the DS/SC/hatch rework :sarcastic:

We can see it in the trailer: The Legion can actually down survivors with 1 hit and no terror radius :O

really? Mhm I wonder whether steam could consider that as false advertising.....

  • Why not just make them invulnerable during the unhooking animation?

I very much appreciate the newly added consistency this change brings.

That being said I didn’t feel Legion, Doctor, or Freddy needed a nerf. However hopefully now they’ll be better able to adjust their kits as needed, and not be held back by weird interactions.

(excluding Freddy due to his “Soon TM Rework”)

Yeah yeah freddy doc and legion will get their "SOON TM" rework really soon.... just as usual

  • @Blueberry said:
Honestly after their Legion changes I'd put him below freddy. At least freddy has full movespeed and doesn't need 4 hits to down someone.

    Its so sad

So recently today the only games I have had are like 10 Hillbilly matches, 1 Leatherface and 1 Spirit. (I am rank 1 btw) this isn’t anything surprising or new but i’m just getting bored of playing against the same killer(s) - nurse for pc players. Does anyone else think the Hillbilly should receive some sort of nerf, ability cd or ms, or simply just buff the other killers to the same viability

at this point im just considering depipping because there is more variety at lower ranks

Yeah it sucks but the devs have the opinion that not all killers need to be viable at high rank.

So yeah another morning of facecamp after facecamp after facecamp. Great game you got here btw, great community too.

When you look at the killers profile many have comments enabled and its just one huge wall of people posting things like "-rep camper" or "-rep camps all game".

The camping in your game is so bad it's unbearable. Everyday I try to be optimistic about survivor but I always feel like playing it less and less.

At least if we could see the profile we could have an idea of if we want to play with such a toxic person or not. Killers can see survivors profiles its only fair that survivors can do the same.

Sure, but only when the killer can see SWFs

Probably wouldn't work as they'd get lobby dodged to oblivion.

But otherwise I'd be down for that. I play solo and get accused of being SWF for no reason. Sucks when someone tbags the killer and they take it out on the team by camping then explain after the game how they thought we were all friends.

SO you wanna see killer names to lobby dodge killers, but dodging SWFs is not ok?

Wrong. Doc was only weak before his Cube. And if you mean "weak" regarding high ranks, then every killer is weak against tryhard survivors and SWF, except nurse imo.

Yeah I was talking about competent survivors of course because against potato random survivors at rank 20, every killer is op

Survivor gets their first hook when everyone else is dead. They get NO chance to get off the hook or use deliverance. This HAS to change ASAP. Do you know how unfair it is just to save the killer a tiny bit of time in their day to screw over a survivor that's not been hooked by not allowing them even the chance at the 4% unhook, or to use their deliverance. Why is it remotely fair that they only get a single hook for their life? Why is them not getting an attempt or at least a chance to have their struggle points to save a killer a bit of time fair?

This needs to change. I Have no clue what possible logic there was for this to be a thing in the first place.

"The game isn't competitive." = "We don't have to balance the game properly."

As soon as the objective requires you to beat another player, the game is competitive.

Especially when said game also features a ranking system and a matchmaking system that matches based upon ranks..
It does sound like a ridiculous excuse to avoid having to do balance, like you said.

It is a ridiculous excuse and the way the ranking system has been implemented shows that. It should be close to impossible with the currnet balancing to reach rank 1 as solo player or as freddy for example. Yet you can achieve both very easily since the whole rank system is a joke

So first off this is just an idea so don't judge it based on numbers since those can be changed to be more blanced. Mainly post your opinion on how would you like to see some similliar mechanic added to the game.

So to the first topic, why camping/tunneling happens. The way I see it is that these tactics are used to help killer better manage survivors since getting one of them out of the game asap while there are still enough gens left will mostly lead to a 4k for the killer. If there was some reason to not kill once hooked surviors maybe then killers would be more willing to not tunnel. Problem lies in that unhhoked survivors are the same threat towards gens as not hooked ones while beiing easier to kill.

So I propose new status effect that could lessen camping and tunneling. It could be named Fear of death. (FoD)

-Once survivor is unhhooked he'll be affected by FoD for next 2,5 minuts.
-Survivors affected by FoD first time suffer from lowered gen repair speed by 20% for the duration.
-Survivors affected by FoD first time have their movement speed increased by 4% for the duraion.
-Survivors affected by FoD second time suffer from lowered gen repair speed by 40% for the duration.
-Survivors affected by FoD second time have their movement speed increased by 8% for the duraion.
-Powering exit gates disables all effects of FoD.

Numbers are a bit drastic but I wanted it to be impactfull so that it affects peoples gameplay. So tell me if you like/don't like it (I'd apriciated if you said why) or post additional effect FoD could have and if lots of you will like it maybe devs will notice and impliment something simmiliar.

Truetalent has suggested a similar idea, but the "FoD" was only given out for fresh hooks and affected the whole team.
He got trashtalked for being a camping killer, do you see the irony?

But lets be real here, this would result in a survivor nerf and survivors want the killer to be punished for camping/tunneling, they dont want rewards for not-tunneling/not-camping.

He did ? Well that's good, even when he's off with some things he mostly has pretty good idea about DBDs balance.
I don't agree with affecting whole team since punish survivors for mistakes they haven't done isn't good way about balancing.
Yeah there always are whining survivors who don't want any changes done unless it's pure buffs but noone should listen to those. Devs seems to be going the right way about balancing last few months so I hope they'll notice this and hopefully take something out of it.

I just saw that you are suggesting to increase the movement speed, must have missed that before.
Thats absolutely a no-go, you would be unable to catch them again. (In fact your suggestion would be an insane survivor buff, not a nerf^^)

And just to put your numbers into relation. If you increase the movement speed of a survivro by 8%, then this means that the movement speed difference to huntress or hag is 20% compared to before, i.e. they need 5 times longer to catch up and here I didnt even take into account the different sized hitboxes that play an important role when looping too

As I said numbers I set are really high to make it feel impactfull. The idea wasn't to nerf survivors or buff killer but to increase game lenght for both sides while making it fair for both too. Killers will get more time to chase other survivors while unhooked survivors are so fast that the chance of killer going for them, insted of someone else, is quite small. Yes it would be very hard to catch unhooked survivors but what else way is there to discourage killers from focusing on just one if not making it harder to catch them.

Also those effects last only for 2,5 min and survivor affected by them is really hard to catch but can't really do gens. If killer spreads the damgage between several survivors then he's stalling the game for quite a while. I don't really know if it would solve anything but it would be lovely to see devs experiment a little. They don't have to make it right on the first try but it's certainly better to do at least something if they don't want to add side objectives.

YOu need to encourage killers not to tunnel.

Btw, the devs already told us that they dont want to mess with the movement speeds, it would remove all kind of "feel of the game" since everything would switch constantly, all your "muscle memory" woudl be screwed over

I do encourage killer not to tunnel by giving unhhoked survivor 20 or 40% lower gen repair speed, that's probably biggest encouragement at least I can imagine. They can tunnel that extremely gen speed weakened survivor if they want. If they really want him to die they can hard camp him which will still work.

It wouldn't be too much of altering movement speed if it last only for 2,5 min while survivor can't really do gens but who knows. I just would like to see some new mechanics that would spiece up the game. Getting new DLCs is great but they could take time to do something new with baseline game.

Weve been told that they are working on secondar objectives. Ireally hope that they get this done and dont withdraw it again as they did with hatch/DS/SC

edit: forgot the "L" in clockwise :s

And that's the little thing that can save you so much time if you're lucky enough, actually.
Good survivours look around and think where should they go next so they usually pick a trajectory that is facing the place the want to go next.
Example: you have a pallet. In front of it is a jungle gym, and behind it is a pile of trash without pallets or windows. Obviously survivour wants to go to the jungle gym after they throw the pallet. And they want to go straight to it, without having to do another loop around the wall and risking getting a hit. And they want to end up in front of the pallet. But you want them to end up behind the pallet.
On this scheme you can see where should you go and where would survivour go.

Same goes for every other loop in the game.

Why did the survivor run into your arms on the last pic? He could have easily continued to loop on the left side until you break the pallet. When you break the pallet, he simply switches to the pallet bellow

I'm sorry, because it's not very clear, but the last pic swows the moment when survivour actually drops the pallet and tries to get to the next area, but you are alreaady on that side.

The picture was quite clear. The question remains: why did the Survivor go over to your side when they could just as easily keep looping or even keep running to the side you're not on?

    Hm...
Maybe it was like this: pallet is dropped, survivour is waiting for you to act, you break it and they know that there's nowhere to run behind so they try to move forvard while you're breaking the pallet, but you're done by the time they finally get to another side.

Though, I agree that it's a pretty dumb move. Maybe they had DH, but forgot it didn't reacharge yet? XD

Well so again you are relying on survivor mistakes and thats not a counter to looping, I know there are plenty of survivors out there that play like that and were lucky that they exist

The survivor can not just switch to the window if the killer breaks the pallet while he is between the window and the pallet.

If the killer he breaks the pallet on the other side he just made a terrible choice cuz he's letting the survivor get away and use the window.

If the killer is between the window and pallet and then break it, survivor has no chance of getting to that window without getting hit.

This particular loop is pretty strong if the pallet is thrown. The killer has to just break  that pallet afap if the survivor knows what he's doing.

Yes its important from which side you break the pallet, but if the survivor walks to the left side when the killer breaks the pallet, then he could have easily uised that long part of the wall to make it to the other loop.
Alternatively, he could have just run back and go to another loop in that direction.

Only a rank 20 looper would have made that decision

Is there a certain direction that survivors prefer? Like is going clockwise on the t-walls faster and safer? I just see streamers/youtubers saying they need to push the survivor in a certain direction and i'm just not 100% why

edit: forgot the "L" in clockwise :s

I'm sorry, because it's not very clear, but the last pic swows the moment when survivour actually drops the pallet and tries to get to the next area, but you are alreaady on that side.

The point of the pic was to show that things like that are possible sometimes and it all happened just because the Killer chose the right direction.

Well the survivor can continue to loop you into oblivion in that spot until you actually break the pallet or wait for bloodlust 3. If you break the pallet, then he switches to the next loop and if you bloodlust 3 him, then he takes a hit and then continues and you wasted a ton of time.

Depends on what you mean. If about the community in general, take community X. Any, you pick, won't be prettier than this one, for sure
Dbd is by far the worst community I've been in and I have played a lot of games
  • Identify the weak survivor and focus on him. If you run after a good looper with a loop able killer, then you are loosing the game
  • No, it's a bann able offense since you are holding him hostage (a few seconds won't hurt anyone, but If it goes longer.....)
  • Hello! i already know that, right now, you cannot transfer your Ps4 or Xbox saves onto your PC and Vice Versa. However I would like to get this some attention, so that the Dead By Daylight Crew take notice. It should be a thing. Now, i Understand the whole Cross-platform thing will not be fair. Puting a Ps4 player or XBOX player against a PC player is not fair. This is not what i am saying. Im not asking to play with other Platforms, i would just like to switch my purchases, cosmetics, bloodpoints, irredecent shards, and Xp to my PC Account. In fact, i would not mind if it were just my Purchases and Cosmetics. I would not be opposed to grinding again, as long as i have my limited time cosmetics and purchases carried over. What does everyone else think? I don't belive it is out of the realm of possibility. I'm not saying there would not be complications, but it is not impossible to do.

So you are asking them to take this insane effort enabling cross platform such that you dont need to do double purchaseß (a good thing for them btw), but then they cant even use cross platform for the game?
Yeah that'd totally gonna happen
  • There should always be the possibility to concede in a ranked game
  • So yeah another morning of facecamp after facecamp after facecamp.

DBD is not a scary game

unless myers just comes out of thin air then that will scare the hell out of you

Thats a jumpscare that happened twice to me this year, but only once until you realize that he is runnign that build, then you just loop him for hours since he has basically the same movement speed

Do you know that Monitor & Abuse is just enoguh for causing heart attacks? And there's also Dead Rabbit add-on.
Oh, and Pig can also sometimes scare you so much. And so can any killer with Insidious if they position correctly.

But MM is just the only thing that is truly scary here. Whenever you learn that you're facing MM you start moving camera to every direction paniking every time you hear someone movind behind that wall.

PI is more like vroom vroom - here I come. I'm like ok, I'll stand up and sprint away
    Not really scary TBH.
Versing a good nurse, that can indeed be scary but since I play solo my mates usually suicide in these games and destroy all the enjoyment

It’s really hard to find the good conversations buried in the salt contests. It would be easy to moderate too.  I’m just sick of all the beef. I want to have a good conversation here.

Seriously sometimes I can’t tell if I’m reading tweets from the Wendy’s Twitter Account or a DBD forum.

The problem is that we always discuss the same topics, most arguments have already been brought several times and its just a big repitition. Even the devs ackknocledge serious balance issues in the game (depip squad e.g.), but yet a mayor part of the community simply doesnt accept that.

As long as we have this survivor vs killer mentality, its simply never going to happen.
I started posting salty comments to instead of trying to respond with a thought-through argument since I know that im just gonna be trashtalked anyway
