  • Stranger Things DLC was removed from sale back in November, so no it cannot be purchased further.

  • Yes if you purchase the base game on Steam, you can transfer anything you have on Epic to Steam (and vice versa). You will need to create a BHVR account https://account.bhvr.com and open the game on each platform at least once...you link both accounts to the BHVR account.

  • Racism: prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.

^ none of which applies to Hillbilly.

  • Thank you for sharing that with us, congratulations from the entire Team <3

We wish you well on your journey

I'm looking forward to the power struggle and boil over buffs!

The only thing I want for Xmas is a guaranteed hook in the RPD Library, if we could get that I will have no problems with these buffs

just as an fyi, a guaranteed hook wouldn't necessarily solve the issue there - what happens once you've sacrificed someone on that hook for example? I think that's a bigger issue and one which we have given the right team the feedback on.

  • Your save file for the PTB was taken on the 22nd December, so that's what you play on with the PTB.

When you go back to the Live build, your game there will be as you left it.

  • As we've previously advised, I'm sorry but we're unable to refund Legacy cosmetics. (also your screenshots do not show you were entitled to Legacy Prestige!)

With regards to the Twitch Shirt, there was a bug where these were wrongly given to players and they were removed from those who weren't meant to have them, which our records show is the issue in your case.

  • I was pointing out that we refunded BP/items for the initial problem with linking accounts where players lost progress - which is not the same as in your case. That was the only time that we refunded items and we do not do it now that this issue has been resolved.

We do not refund items for players who have unlinked their accounts for any other reason, as you were advised by Support.

I'm afraid there is nothing that we can do here to help you with this situation as we are very clear about this in our FAQ.

Sad that it wasn't mentioned on the future update post. My friends have been pestering me about playing this game for ages.

That's because there's no further news on this. We have confirmed that it will not be on SteamDeck at launch and we do not currently have a date when it will be on Steamdeck - we've confirmed nothing else in relation to this.

  • We don't return items from the unlinking as we're very clear on our FAQ which is on our sites about what happens.

The only times things were returned was when there was an initial problem with the BHVR account but that has been resolved some months ago.

So bloodletting is a skin, I have it and enjoy wearing it. The problem is that I have to specifly play Dwight to wear this cosmetic. I was hoping to ask the devs if they could do what they did with Twitch shirts and have it wearable for all original characters. This would have me able to play more characters and enjoy a skin I enjoy wearing (Red and Black combo really well together). I wanted to know what others thought about this so I am posting it here as well.

This is not likely as that was an original shirt that something had to be purchased in order to get this shirt - it wasn't a free shirt.

  • We need to keep this thread going with the cute/cuddly things, it's uplifting to look through on rough days <3

I've edited the Patch Notes again for this one (for some reason the Forum wants to keep removing the description of Power Struggle and keeps putting it under Buckle Up, we've edited it twice now).

So when is this coming out? Over a year and a half I've been asking for it. Getting bored of waiting now

You have no idea how much I wanted to respond to this yesterday...your timing was perfect LOL!

  • We cannot advise on any 3rd party tools. I would suggest contacting EAC directly to check if this software is whitelisted by them.

I did confirm it but I tried asking for another confirmation email for the sake of it just now and got a message saying I don't need confirmation.

try to change your avatar now, following the steps from @Pet_The_Lizards and see if you're able to do it

@MandyTalk it would probably help if the people discussing the things was more accurate or detailed in what they was saying along with following updates.

A quick example split things up into these categories:

1.being worked on now and is like to come sooner or later

    2. Acknowledged, being looked into and worked on abit. However number one section is first but are definitely going to happen in the future.

    3. Things that were looking at but not concrete we will implement.

And then just keep those updated even if things havent gone unchanged. You could easily say "still being looked into, not currently in the works but will be at some point"

Biggest issue is we either hear nothing, hear something and then never kept updated and it's just a guess what's going on or we hear something and then was never told otherwise.

For example: early game "collapse" was spoke about, and the dropped and we wasnt told for a year odd later.

Keys and moris, one was done far ahead of the other. One wasnt given a warning while the other was.

And finally SBMM, escapes and kills.. that was disappointing when neither can show skill and was told that's not what was going to be used.

IMO clear honesty is always best, there will always be those that dont listen, but as long as you're giving info (where possible) and give updates on those it keeps people involved and inpart excited

Which again brings us back to the situation of things that we're working on not making the light of day, the community get hyped about something that just doesn't work in practice or expects to have it instantly - we've been there before with so many things and the results keep happening the same way - every time we try to give transparency it's thrown back at us. In the past something has been mentioned where it's in the idea phase, something we're looking at - early game collapse for example, and then for whatever reason that doesn't come to fruition do you really think the community is accepting of it? Because that's not what we see from our point of view at all.

Every time we try to be transparent it goes the same way, it's not even an historical thing - as the whole Legion/Ghostface issue that happened shows that. We did try with this Dev Update and explain things that we're looking into with bridging the gap between solo's and swf, and looking into the MMR to improve that system....I'm honestly expecting the discussions to start in a few weeks "devs said this will be in the game, it's still not there, devs lied" etc etc etc. When we've not said when something will be implemented or even that it for certain will be implemented, but that we're looking into it - but many people will run with it and say "yes this is coming" so we tend to not give too much advance notice of things anymore and not say what's being worked on.

    For me it only says

    change my password

    notification preferences

    connections

    quote settings

    in that order.

you probably need to confirm your email address then, as that sounds like it's not been verified.

    Ok, that's a fair point.

Why can't we have LONG ptbs of changes being talked about then? Make a very clear statement that any PTB with major changes is literally only for the sake of testing with the community and nothing is guaranteed in any way at all. So that the changes can at the very least be discussed among the players (and genuinely have the feedback given taken into account by the dev team) before simply being implemented into the game. Again, a perfect example of when this would have been useful and prevented a lot of extra work was the HUD changes. Why is there not a specific test server for this reason. You could absolutely change HUGE parts of the game just to be tested and played around with, and given tons of feedback to, without actually affecting the game until you've made a decision as to what you want or don't want to be a final change made. The bloodlust test was kind of that even just without the test server.

I feel like a like of problems could be handled before they even become problems if something like that were to be done. Maybe that takes a lot more work than I realize, but even still it would be a very healthy way to reach the community in a way that makes us feel connected and cared about

To create that with those types of changes on things that we already know won't work for example is a massive amount of work - the huge programming element for one thing. It's not feasible or sustainable for the team.

We had the last mid chapter patch with an awful lot of changes in, that was very well received by the community and we did try to manage expectations there that this isn't something that could be done on a regular basis. When we make changes they're discussed, prototyped with internal testing, programmed, tested via QA etc. There's so much work that goes on behind the scenes that players are not aware of.

We're looking to implement a new Beta Tab (the one that's currently being tested on the PTB) that will help get things that we're working on tested easier - as well as give the added benefit that console users can also test out these features. It's not going to replace a full PTB for obvious reasons but it will help to test things like HUD changes etc.

  • Partly because every time we're transparent about what is being worked on people expect that to be implemented instantly into the game.

We had it with Object of Obsession rework and we had it this time with Ghostface & Legion - we never said they were coming this mid chapter just that they were the next killers to be looked at. And past history has shown this happening time and time again, which is why we're more hesitant in discussing things until we're more certain about what we're able to implement.

  • I'm guessing you are a newer player. And yes whilst learning the game and your team mates are learning it as well it can be tough, as you begin to gain more experience you will be matched with more experienced survivors also, as well as more experienced killers. As you escape more, your MMR increases.

The Grade system that you see, is not used for matchmaking - the Grades show more about how much a person has played that season (so from the 13th of one month to 13th of the next). The matchmaking is done on a hidden MMR score and the system matches you with other players around your own skill level.

For perks at this level I would suggest perks such as Kindred as that will help your whole team, when you're on the hook for example they will see where all the other team mates are (and they'll also see if the killer has left the hook area) - that can really help in solo queue. There's also perks such as Circle of Healing & Self Care so that you can heal yourself (or bring a medkit with you), and there's even a perk (Deliverance) that will let you unhook yourself if you've already made a safe unhook that match. Perks are varied so they suit all playstyles.

  • @AgtClappers said:

We know the release date ?

We have not confirmed a release date for the mid chapter patch as yet.

  • The whole point of removing them is to remove a tool that people use to harass others with - unlocking it for everyone will not change that.

  • As a survivor I've never heard Whispers from the killer if they're using the perk...if you have video evidence of this I'd like to see it as pretty certain that would be a bug.

You can't tell as a survivor if a killer has Whispers - you can make an educated guess by the killers actions, but there's no in-game notification of it.

(Doctors madness exempt from this, as you do have a whispering effect then regardless whether the doc is using Whispers or not, it's not connected to the perk)

  • I think all the fountains were used by survivors - which will give the Plague Corrupt Purge 5s later (then all pools are cleansed again).

  • (it's also fixed in the current PTB patch notes)

  • There seems to be quite a bit of confusion around the Beta Tab, so I'll see if I can make it clearer.

Right now the Beta Tab is being tested on the PTB - yes any BP earned there, stays on the PTB and doesn't transfer to Live

Once the Mid Chapter goes Live (and providing that there's no issues found with the Beta Tab), then the Beta Tab will also go to the Live Build as part of the Mid Chapter Patch.

What needs to be tested under the Beta Tab (it will be client sided things so not perk changes etc), will not need a PTB - which is why it's available on all platforms.

Hopefully that makes it a bit clearer.

@MandyTalk I just don't know how I am going to run DbD first on Epic Games when DbD is only supported on windows, and I have a Macbook. So does that mean I wont be able to connect them?

With the cross progression, I thought that if I were to link my PS4 & Switch account to epic, it will link my cosmetics etc?

yes if you can't run the game on your hardware, you won't be able to link them.

And no because you have a PS4 & Switch account you cannot cross progress, as there is no cross progression available for those platforms.

  • You need to first open DbD on Epic Games to be able to connect it to the BHVR account (you have to have the game purchased on Epic Games or have obtained it free during the time it was obtainable free).

Also, there is no cross progression between PS4 or Switch. Cross progression is between Epic Games, Steam & Stadia.

  • And here we are again...what a surprise! Still unable to discuss something civilly without resorting to personal attacks - I thought after yesterday we were past the petty digs at each other, appears I was wrong.

  • Yes this is currently a PTB feature being tested...if it makes it through the PTB it will go Live when the mid chapter releases on all platforms. (referring to the Beta Tab)

  • Your save file for the PTB was taken on 22nd December 2021, so your data on the PTB is from then.

When you switch back to the Live build your data there will be as you left it before downloading the PTB.

  • There is nothing further we can or will add to this, for reasons that have been explained above.

It's not our practice to discuss what actions we are taking to prevent cheating - we don't want the cheaters to get advance notice of things etc.

It's difficult, we are aware, of course we're aware but we're very limited on what we can say for the reason that I just explained.

I know that's not what many of you want to hear and I'm sorry about that, but I really cannot give further information.

would you be able to grab the exact numbers? i didn’t download this ptb

yepp I was just digging them up for you...hitting great skill checks takes it to 15s to wiggle out, 16s on good skill checks which is what it is with the current struggle of A/D.

  • I believe that if you hit great skillchecks it's a little bit faster than the current wiggle with A/D but if you hit good - it's the same time

Pretty much a full recode on her, a really large job...but one that was needed

  • @Cancan71 said:

At the moment, it takes 3 months for the devs to do things like add a token to Distortion or buff the aura reading of Buckle Up by 4 seconds. This is way too long and leaves the community feeling frustrated with the slowness of perk changes.

Now that they have added the beta tab for all platforms including console, there's no reason not to take advantage of this new feature to do more perk changes. Surely they are now able to do 2 or 3 perk changes every 2 weeks or so. You can't be slightly change 5 perks out of 191 every 3 months and expect people to be satisfied.

If the devs are mainly going to make slight changes to perks, it needs to happen more often using the beta tab.

I'm not sure if the Beta tab will be made for perk changes as the whole point of the Beta tab is to test out things that can still be done without a download etc...as this is where it becomes difficult.
