I’m sorry but truly Pig is a real disappointment of a killer. Truly one of the killers where no matter how much you learn her you’ll loose.
Weird because by now I played 4 matches with her and I did 4 times 4k :)

Comment really useful, thank's

I haven’t gone against Pig much. Can you escape with a trap on your head?
After the last gen was done I went around the boxes thinking I wouldn’t be able to leave. Pig caught me so I still don’t know.
You can't escape with a trap on your head, that will kill you ;)

Thank you all for your precious help, especially ChiFox, your comment was very helpful. I'll take into consideration all of that and will try to train with her.

The main thing you need to learn is when to crouch and when not to. You move super slow while crouched, so you can't afford to do it very long. For this reason, I recommend starting out with tracking perks to help you know when a Survivor is nearby (Whispers if you get how to use it, Discordance if you don't). Other than that, just expect the gens to fly early game and don't get discouraged. Pig is pretty weak until you have traps on multiple Survivors to slow the game. Only use your Dash attack at short, unsafe loops.
As to your last question, I'd say any character is fine to master as long as you're having fun. Just know that Pig is towards the bottom of the barrel in terms of strength. If your goal is to win as much as possible, you might consider picking a different Killer.
You are right, most of the time I play to get 4k with a good killer but I like to play "less good" killers too to have fun with their playstyle, we are in a game to have fun after all :)

This would work if this game was programmed well and the game didn't count a fall from a half foot rock to be a "fall from a great height." you can't really know for sure if any drop could stagger because the game cannot properly tell the distance of a fall. Have you use balanced landing? You can fall half an inch at the top of the basement stairs and it activates. It's not like the stagger is going to only happen if you drop 30 feet. Dropping off a tiny rock by a hill on like coal tower will likely do it. If it was consistent and programmed well, then that may be less of an issue. But it isn't programmed well nor consistent. Them taking longer to hook is abused by running to a section where it will be unable to get them there in time no matter what you do. Several maps have these. So, you can't drop down, and you can't go to a far away hook, so if there is no other hook or a dead zone of hooks, the survivor is immortal unless you throw the game to slug them and babysit for 4 minutes.
"Just slug"
I mean that's extremely boring and if you're going to tell me "well just have no fun and babysit a guy while his friends do gens" or something, I'm just gonna go play survivor. Shame about those queues though. Really a mystery why they keep getting longer every week.
You are right. When I heard about the rework and I read it. I was sure BHV was talking about a true great height and even if I still don't like the Idea, I can understand it. But like you said even a fall from 10cm trigger the perk and that's a non sense...
You misunderstood, by slug I meant, if you down someone and you see you haven't the time to hook him because he use Boil Over and he's upstair on a structure, instead of try to hook him and lose him (that would mean a new chase), just let him down and go for others survivors, yeah you didn't hook him but you slowed the game by slugging, maybe later you'll down him in a better spot, nearer from a hook :)
I was never talking about slugging someone and facecamp him ;)

@Arbmos1998 said:
I have attempted all day today to play fairly by doing as minimal camping, tunneling, slugging till it is absolutely necessary. Playing this way is averaging 0-1k but 7-8+ hooks a match.
In the current patch if you play fairly as killer winning is out of the question so this unfortunately causes killers to play in a very unfun way which we see on a daily basis.
The devs consider a 2k a draw yet I can just play Bubba, down 1, face camp them and get a 2nd with noed. The devs see this as a balanced match for data. If I can get 2k average with minimal effort why should I go for fair gameplay? It's not like the survivors play fairly, especially during this event, the use of Boil Over is insane and is becoming very quickly unfun to go against.
Playing fun punishes you, playing unfun rewards you, why is this the case? Should it be the case?
And you are top MMR ? Because I'm not (I think because I still dunno how to know) but I'm not a beginner either and it's really rare that I do 2k or less, most of the time it's 3 or 4k, depend of the hatch and I don't camp or tunnel :/

He said survivors though...
And ? I'm talking about what he said (insults from others survivors and killer DC)..
-
Yeah there are less players than before on Steamchart but do you know DBD exists on console and EGS (was even free few weeks ago), do you have stats for these platforms ?
I'm agree the game has many issues (due to devs that are incompetent) and I hope they will move their asses because I enjoying so much the game that I want to keep it alive but I don't think he's dying like you think :)
-
I don't like the rework of this perk but when we play killer, we are noticed of that (icon is showed). If you know that it's not difficult to avoid falling and if you see that the nearest hook is too far, just let fall the survivor and slug him (still better than a new chase).
I mean, yeah the perk is bad but don't need to harass player that use it or DC, just use your brain :)

What's wrong with DMS? I've been testing it and it's bad on most killers, and sort of decent on a handful.
Boil Over...yeah. That is a miserable perk to go against now.
Bad ? I just tested DMS with Pain Resonance and it's damn good even with another killer than Artist :)
-
Not bannable but use an exploit to have advantage over other players is really a shame. It's unfair and if you need that to outplay someone, ask you the good question..

The devs basically confirmed the killer to survivor ratio is really really bad.
Imo playing killer is so much more enjoyable than survivor, because each killer has his proper playstyle. When you play survivor, each game is the same. I know not all think like that but I guess that I'm not the only one and if the ratio killer/survivor is that bad, it's a proof that there is a problem. Maybe BHV will understand in few centuries :/
-
Dunno how it was on last rifts because I just have known this one and previous one but the real problem isn't free way that contain not much items but that the paid way is full of items that are really ugly, for 10€ (on a paid game), we can expect better looking items or I'm dreaming ?
-
I played 6 games yesterday as killer, I thought that I will be matched with full Boil Over players but I encountered none, it's weird :/

Dead Mans would definitely fit the build well, you could even remove ruin for another perk of your choice.
My builds will be generally now:
BBQ
Pain Resonance
Dead Mans Switch
Agitation/Corrupt/Deadlock/STBFL/No Way Out
Pretty much first three will always be used and the fourth is up to which killer i use/ how i feel like playing
Great ! Thank's for your advice, I'll try it ;)
@Danielgdp3 said:
Dead Mans Switch is now a A tier perk, Any killer can run it but it really shines on certain killers:
Doctor
Nurse
Blight
Spirit
Artist
It's no where in the realm of overpowered but it sits beautifully in the balanced and fair category.
Boil Over on the otherhand was probably too buffed, if the reduced the wiggle bonus from 25 to 10 or 15 it would still be good but far less abusable.
Can you explain why it suits more for these killers ?
-
I never used Dead Man's Switch because it seemed a bit bad but now, without the obssession mechanic, it looks better. What do you think about it, it worth it ?
I usually like to play with BBQ, Pain Resonance and Ruin, the last perk depends about the killer and what I already have in my web. Do you think it can suits well for my 4th perk ?
-
Yeah event is quiet funny but it's too fast to get all cosmetics, the event last one week and even in few hours, you get all of them.. Maybe it should be more difficult to unlock or need more cosmetics, too bad :(
-
SWF are more common in NA or what ? Because I'm in EU and It's very rare that I encounter a team of 4 :/
-
Okay great, thank's for your answers !
-
I'm agree that is not really toxic because the killer who do that, do that as a strategy, even if it's unfair imo and even if when I'm playing killer I avoid to do that (except for slugging to slow the game sometimes) it's not really toxic at all.
It depends on how the killer do that too. If he facecamp a t-bagger, tunnel or slug to counter genrush, there aren't any problem imo but if the killer facecamp just to be mad or tunnel but the game is in his hands and there is no genrush, it's for sure a bit more toxic.
Beside of that, there are things that are really toxic imo like t-babbing, spam FL, hit the hooked survivor many time with your weapon, say "ez game" as killer while being unfair the whole game, etc.. Because these things are useless and aren't a part of a strategy, when you do that, you do that for a reason and a bad one: being mad.

I've been fairly tolerant and patient with BHVR during 2021 but at the sight of this patch I really have to admit that they just don't give a damn about killer players. Hopefully it bites them back in the ass at some point.
Same feelings, but they can stay blind about the game state, when the day comes when no more players will play killer side, it's not us who will be mad...
Maybe that day, they will understand that we need killers to play the game.
-
It seems that these devs are lost in their job, it's not their first game but they act like that :D
I'm still enjoying so much the game after 300h (especially the killer side) even if the game isn't well balanced, but I'm still disappointed on what they do each patchs...
They can stay blind about the game state but one day, there will be no more players to play killer and this day, maybe they will understand that we need balance instead of crappy skins and useless adjustements.
-
I was nice with BHV before because I enjoy so much the game and I know that make a game and balance it is not easy but each patch, my sympathy decrease :(
Between the new wiggle system that is faster than before when you do perfect test and the rework of Boil Over, it seems that these dev are totally lost in their job..
I love playing survivors but I love playing killer too (I play even this side more), I'm disappointed about the game, there will be a day when BHV will know what to do on their game.. no ? :p
-
It's more a NA feel or everyone that complain are highest MMR ?
Because I'm in EU and after 300h (dunno my MMR), I still enjoy the game so much, I just encountered few DC but I think it was more a connection problem and even if I already encountered several Bubba facecamp and other tunnel players, most of the time killers are fair and even if I play soloQ, most of the time other survivors have brain. And when I play killer most of the time I get 3+ kills, it's very rare that I play against click click toxic players, even if they are SWF :/
-
If you know everyone use it, don't try to hit when you are far, wait until you are sticked to them 🙃

Killers do get changes. The Devs aren't Survivor-sided, just to be clear. And we also don't know what the right way is either.
I never said dev team is survivor sided, it seems that they aren't really playing their own game so for sure they aren't survivor or killer sided but the game is still unbalanced anyway.
Killers do get changes maybe but in which way ?
You are right about what the right way is, it depends about what you prefer to play and what kind of player you are but we can assume than nerf a side that is already unbalanced isn't the right way no ?

I think the Devs would have to mess up catastrophically to kill the game at this point.
DBD has always been a revolving door of players. I've been around since early 2018 and I'd say that most of the playerbase joined sometime after January 2020.
So long as they keep their licenses and continue to bring in new one's, the game isn't going to die no matter what balance decisions they make.
Yeah maybe you are right.
It's painful to see that our opinion isn't considered and they continue to make changes like they want even if it's in the wrong way but what can we do :/

I personally determend the MMR around the players performence (how well they do in the game overall) and the game time. I get often players around 3-6k hours in the game and they play mostly pretty well. I do get rarely weaker survivors that are under my skill level but its pretty rare.
Hmm okay, not easy to determine :p
For example, I just have 150h of playtime but really often I'm matched with players that have more than 1000h, it's me that is better than my playtime or them that are worse than their playtime ? :D
-
@Pulsar said:
Because they want to cater towards their biggest base.
Survivors, like it or not, make up the majority (likely the vast majority) of the paying playerbase. Key word there is paying.
Why would any business do something that would upset the majority of their customers? They wouldn't.
Ergo, Survivor changes are top priority and Killer complaints take a backseat, not unanswered but just down the ladder a bit. You can see this reflected in things like Undying being nerfed fairly quickly but Circle of Healing remaining arguably stronger but still not being nerfed.
For sure I can understand that, it's logic that you want to keep active the majority of the playerbase but it's not a shooter where you can nerf shotgun for example if there are just 5% of playerbase that use it, you know the rest will still continue to play.
Here it's a game that need 4 survivors and 1 killer to start a trial, if you continue to make bad changes about killer side and no one want to play killer anymore, even if you still have the majority of your playerbase (survivors), how do you want play the game ?
And if you continue in that way, queue time for survivor will be longer and longer, don't you think they will start to stop playing ?

Sure thing.
Plague is pretty good on low to mid MMR like you are probably since your gametime isnt that high I would assume your mmr is around that time. However on higher MMR you will have a hard time getting downs, keep in mind that keeping someone injured isnt enough, you still have to catch them which is the hardest part here.
Sure you have 1 fountain you can use, also 1 extra with a addon but if you dont manage to get a 4k slug out of that 1-2 uses then you are pretty much screwed and will not get more downs. You have some tools like creating a dead zone and hooking someone there but if the survivors are smart they will just leave the survivor on the hook and finish up the gens, you will end up with 1-2k at best which puts her into the B tier categorie.
You assume well :p
The MMR system seems a bit broken and I don't know how to know at which MMR you are but like I do most of the time 4k, I assume that I don't encounter many SWF so I'm not a high MMR player. That why my feelings about Plague seems to not be the truth, thank's to explained me :)
Side of that, there is no link with the post but can you explain me something about MMR, how do you know when you are high in it ?
For example I'm Iridescent 1 but I understood that it's not really the MMR, I see that I encounter better players than before but I still don't know if I play high MMR or average one...

Long story short the devs dont understand their own logic either. Their company feels like a many headed beast where each head has its own opinion 9n how things should be done and through the constant fighting they, every month and a half release an update some how.
It seems yeah, unfortunately for us..
@Impartiality said:
Killers complain all the time because they want to be a power role and be feared and get easy kills. The devs want a game to be balanced and have around a 50% kill rate.
That is why there’s so much complaining and devs don’t listen
I'm not agree with you, I play a lot killer side, survivor side too and killer side is way more stressful. Me and I guess other ones don't want to be the power itself, we just want a balanced game and not have a heartattack each time we play killer side because it's obvious that it's easier to play survivor than killer.
You said devs want a balanced game ? So why they continue to nerf killers side even if they know the game is still unbalanced for survivors side ?
A company must listen their community, even if a change don't seems logical for them but 80% of playerbase complain about it, maybe they need to change it, don't you think ? When you are a company, you need your community or your customers like you prefer to continue to exist, if you continue to make changes against the tide of opinion of players, what do you think it'll happen ?

@Gwinty said:
Dev logic is a bit different from ours and there are multiple things to take into consideration:
- Devs are not devs. The people working on balance may not be the same who work on new Killers, maps or reworks of killers. Look and animations are also done by "devs" but they do no coding. As such the term "the devs" is vague at best.
- Changes need time. Depending on how complex something is there can be multiple problems for the devs to fix. Take hit validation as an example: We now have a pallet and a Dead Hard hit validation system. However we have no window-hit validation. This could very much be because there are more interactions with windows (aka more code) that has to be considered.
- You may have to change more than you think. As an example: I demand that the different Exhaustion perks have different values to them. Now this would work if the values are stored in a seperate file and can be changed with just one input. However if maybe those values are glued to a different tag "Exhaustion" you would have to change this tag first and then every single perk with a new variable. This takes time, creates bugs and well...maybe you will not notice it as a player.
- Many things are done in the background. Bug fixes, performance issues and things like that are done in the background. We will not notice them.
- The game is on multiple platforms and crossplay. This is a hard one: You do not only have to develop for one platform but for multiple interacting platforms, leading to you writing the same thing 3 or more times for different systems and then watching those systems interact.
Sure, BHVR is big. But they are not only working on DbD, they have other projects too. How may people work on DbD? I have no idea. But these problems lead to a time delay with the devs work: We complain about something today and the solution may already be in development since 3 months.
To cut it short: There is a lot going on that we do not know about. There is no easy way to fix this and that is not our job. But overall please assume that those people have the best intentions for the game first. Maybe consider problems from a few months back when reading todays solutions.
Relevant comment but I wasn't really speaking about that :)
I don't complain on how much time they need to make changes or release a patch but I'm complaining about decisions they take. They know their game is still unbalanced, they aren't blind, I hope they follow the opinion of their community but they continue to make changes in a wrong way, that's the problem.
You took a perfect example while talking about exhaustion perk, I'm not a dev but I can easily understand that it's not easy as we think to change a piece of code. But when you know your game is unbalanced, you know killer side is harder and more stressful, you know survivor side is advantaged but you continue to nerf killer side, it's a bit misunderstandable, no ?
Sorry but it's hard to assume that they have best intentions for their game if they continue to make changes against the tide of opinion of players.
I don't know if you know Daybreak (H1Z1 dev team), their game wasn't perfect but still really great and enjoyable, they did changes against the tide of opinion of players, they didn't take our opinion in consideration and now the game is dead...
@Kiridus said:
I think arguing that, with Killer nerfs, there will come a point where no one is playing Killer, is kind of silly, though it is evident that some people have been so sincerely bothered by changes to add-ons that they have uninstalled the game.
While Gwinty is right in that there are simply things we do not know and that there isn't just an easy insta-fix for any of the problems the game has, I think there is also the fact that the balancing team at BHVR is overall just...not sure how to go about things.
They very clearly want the best for the game -- despite what SpiritSimp69 might tell you, BHVR isn't actively working to undermine their main game -- but they also probably still have an outdated understanding of the game, ie that it is just a horror game, which it has not been for a good while. I think a fair evidence of this is that, as time goes on, there have been more Killers, all of them with very pretty and well-done models, that have powers that are just a power another Killer has with a few things changed about it -- they are going off of whatever is terrifying and cool first, and viable second.
That is not to say they do not give a ######### about balance though, quite the contrary -- we would not be getting nerfs and buffs with explanations if they did not care to make sure the game was enjoyable to everyone. The problem is that, like I said, since they are working to make a horror game first, they are not exactly sure how to go about these nerfs, which is why their justification for nerfing some things is that they were being used too much. Now, I am not saying this is all justified, because it isn't. BHVR should work towards having a balance team that understands they are not just making a horror game anymore (and probably hire someone whose prior work isn't just random mobile games) and act accordingly -- but, evidently, this has been going well for them, so they have not bothered yet.
This is all I gathered from what I have seen or heard, though. Anyone who knows the on-goings within BHVR is free to correct me if I am wrong.
I understand what do you mean, I didn't know the game was designed like a horror game first but... When you are a dev team, what do you want ? That's your game stay alive to earn money, I know it's easy to say that but even if you are passionate about video games, while you are a company, you want money, it's a fact and logic.
So you need to keep your playerbase active but if you continue to make changes in wrong way, we'll arrive at a point that nobody will want to play killer anymore and if there aren't killers, the game is unplayable even if there are many survivors main that enjoy the game and stay on it.
I say that because it happened many time that a company was stucked in their bad decisions and the game they created, even if at a time it was famous, it died.
-
We know the release date ?

Plague just B tier :o
Imo she's really strong, I'm not an expert because I just have 150h of playtime but each time I play her, I do well..
Can you tell me why you rank her as low as that ? :)
