Monstrous Shrine always does something.
Knock Out does nothing if the person you downed is in SWF. Knock Out does nothing if a survivor has Empathy. Knock Out does nothing against Aftercare. Knock Out is signifcantly worse if the person you downed has Unbreakable, No Mither or Tenacity.
A perk that has a bad effect will always be better than a perk that can be turned into a literal "Waste a perk slot." perk by using game mechanics (SWF). You could go into a game against four survivors that have no perks and yet Knock Out will have no effect.
-
@rapido said:
I know I can do stealth mechanism, but this rarely works if the nurse uses whisper.Especially the knockout nurse is toxic to this game.
Whispers is terrible.
Knock Out is the second worst perk in the game overall and worst killer perk.
Git gud.
-
The way the perk is worded it would give other survivors a 20 second Sprint Burst or 20 second non-stop Dead Hard. If the Exhaustion can be re-applied then it can still give a triple Sprint Burst or triple Dead Hard easily by following the other survivor. If the killer switches to you then the first survivor can give YOU a triple Dead Hard / Sprint Burst. While you are then being chased a third survivor could heal the original survivor, both of which would recharge their Vigil's off each other, and then come over to you to give you more Sprint Bursts or Dead Hard. Granted they would most likely not be able to charge it to the full 3 stacks before you get downed, so they would have to come help you after getting a single stack each, which would still translate to two extra Sprint Bursts / Dead Hards. Even more cancerous with all four survivors.
In other words, completely busted, ESPECIALLY with SWF.

Downs survivors faster than the vast majority of killers what? We're talking about a killer that has to hit survivors 4 times to down them what the hell are you talking about? Two of those four hits are free, the first and the second. Additionally you get a small body and low terror radius. And you can deal with vaults and pallets. And you can pressure multiple survivors very easily.

I find it amusing that DS is still on the superficial for killers to whine about. I made a list of 20 ways to help deal with/completely ruin the perk. Decisive Strike Counters
[redacted due to size]1, 2, 3 are situational and don't work in a lot of situations
4 (Enduring) helps a little bit but it's not good enough to be run in every build, even if you knew every survivor always had DS
5 Is wrong on so many levels. You can't guarantee that you will find the obsession early. Waiting out the wiggle timer on non-obsession survivors early to make them use DS is so much worse than hooking them. You can't force survivors to use DS, they can choose to save it for later.
6 Crap perk, doesn't work as often as it should, even if every survivor always had DS it would still be trash
7, 11, 12, 14 is again just a terrible suggestion. You shouldn't have to play a specific killer just to deal with a single perk. And none of the killers listed can even deal with DS in a signifcant enough way.
8 Timing is extremely precise, doesn't work the vast majority of the time.
9 Doesn't work
10 Terrible strategy unless you run specific builds, even then a terrible strategy.
13 No
15 Limited resource, you still have to hook survivors at least once
16, 17, 18, 19, 20 I guess you ran out of ideas around number 8. Here you are listing terrible perks that if you try really, really hard you can find a way to argue that they counter DS. They are still dreadful perks though and again, even if every survivor always had DS they would still be terrible (mostly because they don't counter DS at all).
there is no counterplay to noed like people insist, its a free win, really, it is.
You made a list of 20 things of which the vast majority aren't counters to DS and the few that are are so situational that they almost never work. And then you claim that NOED, which can be countered in every single game, by every single survivor, always, without the use of an item or a perk has no counter? Really?

The fact that survivors should adapt and change playstyle depending on the killer they're up against, the same here for killers
You gotta know what can this killer do and where's the weaknesses and go from there
You can't use him exactly as any other killer
If you think this killer is not good for you, simply change killer that you might be good/ skilled with (not everyone can use Nurse or Huntress properly)
This killer is really ANNOYING and people want him to have 115% movement speed ? Oh pls .. ez 4k every game ?
Look at spirit where people asked for buff and now she's even better than hillbilly with just 110% .. going against decent spirit is really boring now
Also same for Freddy and Wraith .. they're not weak
They're good in the right hands
You forgot several buffs the Spirit got.
Buffs the community asked for from the beginning. You say Freddy is strong in the right hands. I assume you played him to rank 1, yes?
Not the same guy but I have, multiple times. Last season after rank reset I got to rank 1 playing exclusively Freddy, without perks or add-ons. If you think Freddy is bad then you are just too incompetent to play him correctly.

@Chuckyyo said:
Tydytyme made a good point that 115% would make him less unique.I'd say not only less unique but also disgustingly overpowered. We know from all the other 115% killers that that speed is "good enough" in a chase. Trapper, even though not very good in general, can down people in a reasonable amount of time without using the power.
A killer with the same movement speed as the Trapper, who gets a free first hit that not even pallets or vaults can stop, and an AoE reveal, and a low terror radius which we also know is good based on Hag and Spirit (+ but his is even less so I don't include him here) and has a small silhouette which is another strength would be stupidly overpowered. And additionally the first hit is not only free but actually better than that because it applies Deep Wound.
That's not even taking into account the synergy with perks.

Hello
We think that Perks should mostly affect your M1 mode as a killer and not buff your power (to a certain extend at least)
Question: the Legion can't benefit from the exposed status effect on survivors while using their power, but the Nurse can. The Nurse is well known for being in absolute the strongest killer, and if there is one whose power is a "free hit" it's her. What's the logic behind this?
I can understand the potential to hit 4 survivors in one frenzy would make NOED and Devour Hope OP, but wouldn't be enought to add the condition that downing a survivor ends the frenzy?
Hello
Our reasoning is because it's very much too easy to get a hit with the Legion power, compare to the Nurse.
Another question: Will there be some type of penalty for being hit while injured? Most people won't bother healing and i have seen many people using Resilience to counter him a lot.
Also will the ridiculous double stun be removed?
That will come later, we have a few ideas but we are unsure about the right one, we will be reflecting on those once the live update comes out. He might not need an extra effect once the currently planned changes are in.
Maybe you, guys, could tell us your ideas, so the community could debate it?
It would be great.
Better to just wait until the patch is out so people can actually try the changes and then give feedback instead of inviting in a flood of tears about how supposedly terrible the changes and killer are before it's possible to even experience them firsthand.

I can also confirm that the TR expand to 32M when he applies the Deep Wound effect, it was omitted from the Power description. (extending over 32M was useless and distracting because you did not have time to reach them) Text will be fixed. How does this extended 32m radius work exactly, how does it interact with the following perks:
- Monitor & Abuse, gives you 32m when in a chase - does the power extend it past those 32m?
- Distressing
- Distressing + Monitor & Abuse when in a chase (should be 40m) - does it extend past the 40m?
- active Tinkerer
-
If it happens consistently to you then the problem is most likely not on the killer's side, but on yours.
-
- 110% is a must, they would be far too snowbally otherwise
- A Nurse's Calling is far too oppressive when used by the killer with this change. With M&A you won't know that you are in danger of being revealed (and yes there is that new perk that blocks that but it's only three times and you shouldn't be automatically helpless without a specific perk) and they can tunnel you down so easily if they can just interrupt your mending constantly.
- Yes, that's really dumb and unfun.
- Only if the Mend action is disabled once you reach the point where it can no longer be finished before you bleed out. It would be super unfun to start the action 1 ms too late and bleed out with the progress 99% filled.
- That seems good too.

If you play her right, you can control the map with her basically. My trick is to slow the game and control it to my benefit.Congratulations, you are using the traps to buy yourself time to kill survivors with a vanilla killer that has no power. The crouch+charge is so bad it does essentially nothing unless you run addons to improve them in which case your traps become worse.
(add a mori with that strategy, easy kills
Ebony Moris make any killer good. If you have to run moris to make a killer good, then that killer is bad.
i also run aura reading perks and use add ons to give status effects to slow them down when healing, which gives you more time either to find them or gen patrol, mix that with nurses calling, bam your golden.
At this point you can just play Wraith with the same perks and be more efficient. Cloak (and especially the bonus speed to move around the map) > crouch+dash. If you get spotted while approaching as Wraith you would be spotted while using Pig as well most of the time.

Maybe you dont wanna reach high ranks?
Imagine this for example, you reach rank 1 with your tryhard nurse, but then you want to learn a new killer.....Also, how could this be abused?
Are you kidding me?
What could go wrong if a rank 1 killer suddenly switches to his rank 20 killer?Well if he never played that killer he will perform badly too, isnt that the point of the rank system?
That player will also most likely not have proper perks or addons which is another reason why the idea is good
-
Great idea. Would also solve the problem with disgustingly long killer queues at rank 1 at the moment.
Good when new killers release too, no longer do you have to up against 4 man SWF squads with meta builds while all you have are the first tiers of the killer's own perks.

Second:
You:Additionally you also have to rely on others with totem cleansing and they rarely do it.
Me:
If NOED is as much of a problem as you say then eventually survivors who destroy the totems will rank up and be matched with other survivors who do that [(refering to cleansing dull totems)]
I never claimed you were talking about ranks. I pointed out that survivors who cleanse dull totems will rank up because in their games NOED does not activate. If NOED is as much of an issue as you claim it is then survivors properly countering it will go up in rank due to them playing against what is essentially a 3 perk killer and those who do not will stay in the low ranks. Therefore the problem of other survivors not cleansing the totems will resolve itself if you yourself continue to properly counter NOED.
Which proves that you don't know anything about what happens in practice in this game. So keep believing your nonsense, i will still enjoy all my killer matches without noed crutch.
Ad hom
-
@megdonalds said:
Seems you don't play solo survivor else you would mainly agree with me.Immediate ad hom before any argument
If you want to escape you have to do gens quickly, especially against very good killers. Mostly, you don't have much time to cleanse all the totems because you also have to save/heal others or get chased, means in case of permanent pressure.
Before you said:
only bad and lazy killers play [NOED] who are unable to get kills midgame.
Now you are claiming that very good killers use it. Furthermore the situation you describe where the killer is able to pressure the entire map is one where NOED is not active. NOED does not matter. You are getting dominated by a killer playing with 3 perks. If the killer is able to put enough pressure on everyone to the point where there is no time to cleanse the totems with only 3 perks you deserve to get steamrolled completely when the last gen pops and NOED activates. Chances are that if the killer had used a fourth perk that helps with putting on pressure you would have lost even earlier.
Additionally you also have to rely on others with totem cleansing and they rarely do it.
Doesn't matter, that's still counterplay. If NOED is as much of a problem as you say then eventually survivors who destroy the totems will rank up and be matched with other survivors who do that (and thus know what they are doing) while the survivors who do not will stay in the low ranks.
Either the killer gets all kills before the gens are done
... in which case the killer was literally using 3 perks
or he gets rewarded by NOED for doing nothing midgame and also gets kills.
If the killer does nothing midgame you have time to take out the totems.
Im talking about practice
No, all you are doing is contradicting yourself a lot.
you about theory or SWF.

I've seen it happen too, but only once. It looked very much like the survivor was doing this on purpose though (tbagging on the other side) so chances are it's either a glitch or a hack.

This entire post is full of contradictions.
you don't have any time for those totems because you don't even have enough time for doing gens
NOED does literally nothing unless all generators are repaired. You claim you don't have enough time to do the generators, implying that not all generators get done. In that situation it's impossible that NOED does anything and therefore you have no reason to complain about it unless the thing you want to complain about is the killer playing with what is basically 3 perks and still wiping the floor with you.
and with BBQ you get found everytime and everywhere.
That is also false. It does not reveal you if you are too close to the hook. It does not reveal you if you are behind a generator. Even if your aura is revealed it is only for 4 seconds. You can simply count to 4 and then move somewhere else if you are afraid of being found.
only bad and lazy killers play it who are unable to get kills midgame.
Above you claimed it's impossible to even do the generators. The only reason that could be is that you are dead. However here you claim that the killer is "unable to get kills midgame". Furthermore, if the killer is unable to get kills without NOED (which is what I believe you are implying here) then you should be able to take out the dull totems against a "bad and lazy killer[...]".
i still see so many huntress with NOED #########, which proves that this garbage crutch is only made for brainless people
I can't even begin to comprehend what the argument is supposed to be here.
-

The change only matters if the killer does not have maxed out perks. Either the killer has all other perks maxed out except NOED, in which case they could play 3 or 4 games and max out NOED to have a fully levelled killer or they do not have all perks maxed out, in which case you are losing to an underlevelled killer.

Yeah killer side was way more aids then the survivor side event. I played the same way though 2 hooks for everyone, everyone escapes unless they were a douche for no reason then they died or got a good ol' camp. Also it took incredibly longer to finish the killer vials mainly because the survivors i was going against literally would not bring offerings and you need at least 4 offerings to get 6 hooks = 1 vial..And don't forget 4 man SWF who disconnect before you hook them on an event hook so you can't fill the vial, then sit in the postgame chat until it's over and go "gg ez"
^ This actually happened more than once. Bonus: Next game (after sitting in lobby again forever) I got them again, popped an Ebony Mori and went to town. The one who went "gg ez" tried to crash my game with the old flashlight exploit that is now fixed so that was a report and hopefully a ban too.

I think a drop off would have been better too. Or at least adding another staircase if doing the top floor hook. Having only one way in/out of the hook is supposed to be a basement only concept. Takes away from the power of the basement if killers can just guard stairs here instead.
There was almost certainly a vault or a hole at some point in development, the "fence" around the top has at least one spot that looks like it used to be open. The reason there isn't a way to get down other than the stairs currently is that it would make the top of the building extremely safe for survivors. Once you hear the terror radius you can just jump down and run. Most likely would become an extremely cancerous loop spot if you just immediately run up the stairs to the hole again and there are lots of pallets around the house.
If you don't want to get hooked up there then don't go near the house. The path to the hook is long enough that it's not possible to reach the hook unless you are downed inside or right outside the house, unless the killer is using Iron Grasp + Agitation or something.

They already ban people who disconnect in a certain % of games. The exact number isn't revealed because if they did then toxic people would abuse it and disconnect in N-1 games where N is the number of games they have to disconnect from to get banned.

Additionally, there is counter play, you just have to stop fixing every time you see the killer pick someone up, so the gen will only regress, and you can start fixing again.
But, there is also synergy with knock out, so survivors can't see when you pick people up, so that specific mind game is more in the killers favor.
What do yall think?
I like the idea of your perk but Knock Out will never be a good perk even with this synergy. Empathy and being SWF make it do literally nothing.
Apart from that it seems fine. Generally the only time a generator is left unrepaired (progressed but not done) is when that survivor enters a chase and the killer doesn't go there to kick it. Using a perk slot to not have to go to the generator and kick it seems fair. For all other unfinished generators the survivors can just go back and tap them after they finish unhooking or whatever else reason they had to not finish the generator.
Not everyone uses empathy tho.
They don't now but if they are Knock Out does nothing. If Knock Out ever becomes good enough to be a metaperk then everyone will run Empathy which makes Knock Out do nothing. And Empathy isn't even bad even if the killer isn't running Knock Out. Knock Out needs some sort of additional effect to be good.

Its still early to tell, but playing against Freddy seems to be about two different playstyles/strategy; remaining in the Dream World rather than woke making Freddy stronger, or remaining awake and exposing yourself to impossible stealth. The point here is that if you suspect Freddy has Rancor (you have PLENTY of notices beforehand), you act accordingly. For example, dont leave Dream World. There you go, perfect counter and the same scenario you will find with this perk on any other killer. If you get caught, it would be 100% your doing anyway, not a "deadly combination". Perks will always work better with certain killers, and always will.
If you never leave the Dream World you will most likely still have restrictions of some kind (currently -50% progress) unless they remove or change that too. If you stay in it for a long time (most likely the whole game) then that's even better for Freddy than being able to instadown and mori. If you keep waking up and plan to only stay in it near the end of the game so he doesn't get the aura reading on you then Freddy can just not put you back to sleep until the last gen pops at which point he can instadown and mori you and there is nothing you can do.
Freddy can also just never put the obsession to sleep ever. Start of the game, press Escape and check which character your obsession is playing, then never put them to sleep. If they remove that to counter that you can still just remember who is playing who by looking at the survivors in the lobby.
@ZombieGenesis said:
It hasn't even hit the PTB yet, how can you judge it?I play a lot of Freddy and can tell that this change will guarantee a mori on the obsession in the vast majority of games where the obsession doesn't disconnect or ends up being the last survivor and finds the hatch. The only way I see that doesn't with a mori'd obsession is a 4 man SWF squad that lures the Freddy to one corner of the map while the obsession is in the opposite corner of the map for maximum distance and a third survivor opens the exit so the obsession can run out before Freddy is able to reach them. That or they change a lot of other things in big ways: There would have to be a way to fall asleep without Freddy putting you to sleep and preferably no more penalty for being asleep to justify not waking yourself up to counterplay Rancor in which case, what is even the point of the Dream World if there is no penalty for the survivors for being in it?
I currently run Save The Best For Last and it's really easy to just never put your obsession to sleep at all. Or do it once to find out which character they are playing (alternatives: press Escape and check or remember who is who in the lobby).
I can see a few ways to beat it if you are prepared and come up with a plan. Just staying with other players near the end of the game would be a simple counter. If you are all awake, then it's harder to tell which aura to go for and if he follows scratches it could be not you. If you are asleep and they are awake, then just let them wake you up right after the last gen pops so you can see the aura.
Freddy can still know where you are unless it's two groups of two: If you are alone he knows where you are, if you are with someone else and the other two are split up he knows you must be in the group of two, if you are with two others he knows you are in the group of three, if everyone is together you must be there. If it's two groups of two he can still move around to see the silhouettes from another angle and tell where you are that way.
If you are asleep and someone else wakes you he knows where you are before you wake up, you just go to the survivor doing the wake up animation.
Other survivors can't stop Freddy from instadowning you if he plays it correctly (don't put anyone to sleep before the last gen pops) unless there is a change and you can bodyblock him if you are awake and tank hits for the sleeping obsession.
That's a lot of coordination required that will be extremely difficult to pull off unless it's SWF.
-
She should turn into a full on ghost and not leave a husk behind. That's simply stupid.
No, your suggestion is what's stupid here. You don't even explain what removing the husk would accomplish. You can use it to block doors, pallets or vaults. Removing the husk makes her signifcantly weaker.

I haven't been able to play her so maybe it's easier than I'm thinking but how would you know what side of the gen they're on is my real question?Survivors still have collision, so you can bump into all sides of the gen to figure out where they are exactly. Obviously only works if they don't move away as soon as they hear you coming or see you activate your power in the distance.

You can't perform any actions while using the power (vaults, lockers, pallets, haven't tried picking someone up), so grabbing probably doesn't work.
You can come out of her power and grab someone off a gen but there's an animation for when you leave the power and survivors can hear you coming so it's impractical to grab people off gens with her.

The only thing that being invisible lets you do is appear right next to or behind survivors, which you can also do with Nurse. Or Wraith. Or Freddy with Monitor & Abuse.
Maybe try actually playing her seriously instead of coming here and complain. I have watched several streamers play her the past hour
Yes because watching other people play the killer for an hour totally lets you get an accurate read on the powerlevel of a new killer.
if people actually take the time to understand her perks
The killer's teachables are irrelevant to the strength of the killer
She is really strong when it comes to end chases and loops quickly and mindgaming survivors
Nurse exists
-
Her dash needs either a complete rework to be something else entirely, it's complete and utter garbage.
Crouching should give you the Shadowborn effect for free (does not stack with Shadowborn or Monitor & Abuse) to be able to actually see where you are going without having to waste a perk slot.
The trap timer should activate as soon as survivors start trying to remove the trap or the equivalent of one full generator has been repaired, across all generators: So if 3 survivors all repair 33.33% of a generator on separate generators the trap timer starts.
Combat Straps should be part of her power always (faster crouching) and using Combat Straps makes the crouch instant.
You should see the timer of the traps as the killer, currently you can keep track of it by yourself if you really want to, it's just really annoying to do so.

1) You dont know which killer is going to play against you, there isnt "COUNTER" Stuff, and i dont think sprint burst is a MUSTIf all perks were equally good (literally) then Sprint Burst would still be better than the rest simply because it hardcounters a very large part of a killer's power. If you have Sprint Burst there is currently no reason not to use it if you want play optimally.
2) The traps are OP against random squads ( AKA 99% of the game population), cuz they may finish a generator while someone is unhooking you and BOOM! you might not be able to get rid of it. Also, they make a lot of noise and it's easy to patrol those machines.
Patrolling the boxes is a massive waste of time, while you are patrolling the boxes all the generators are going to be done. It's a better strategy to pick literally any other except Freddy and facecamp instead of focusing solely on protecting the boxes. If you just include them in your patrol route then generally you won't be able to stop the trap from being removed.
Trapper is generally considered to be not very good. Currenly Pig is like a worse trapper (because there is never the need to check where you are running to avoid bear traps) with four okayish reverse bear traps. The charge is so useless that removing it wouldn't even make a big difference. The only thing setting her apart from Trapper is the built-in Insidious but even that isn't that great unless you build your perks around it.

1 Falling asleep is treated as being asleep, with the exceptions of being unable to be hit and not having your aura revealed.
Addons that affect skillcheck chances while asleep or addons that affect the action speed while asleep work as soon as survivors start to fall asleep. They are supposed to gain distance when falling asleep, not sit at a generator for 6.5 seconds, hope for a skillcheck and if they get it, fail it to restart the sleep timer (because you put them back to sleep immediately) or Sprint Burst away to safety.#
2 No dream world vision. See https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/4029/give-freddy-the-normal-killer-view-instead-of-dreamworld-view#latest.
Make the maps look like they do for all other killers, only make survivors have the black and white with the black flake things.
3 When the exit gates are powered, Freddy leaves the dreamworld (or all survivors are put in it automatically) and he can attack people without putting them to sleep.
Now Freddy actually has a way to defend hooks or gates.

But how would it fit in with the lore?Freddy has been in the dreamworld for so long that he adjusted to it. Kind of like how if you turn off the lights in a room at first you don't see anything but then your eyes adjust. Freddy has been in there forever, he should be able to see better than survivors who get yanked into it.

I think they just need to adjust what 'Dream World'. Scratch marks should be easily visible, but your vision needs to be clearer, it is very hard to see certain objects in the distance and the brightnes needs to be a little higher. That would help but everything being black and white in itself is actually an issue, it gets very unfun to play if you play Freddy often. With other killers you get differently colored maps, with Freddy it's always the same boring black and white.
