Meh. If some SWF squads want to show off their small dicks and take a longer queue let them. If you really care that much, write their names down and either prepare your spite accordingly or dodge.

Targeting specific players is against the rules.

Please remember that Dead by Daylight’s end user license agreement which can be found on https://deadbydaylight.com/en/eula (the “EULA”) governs your participation and use of the game and its associated upgrades, patches, and updates and related services. In case of conflict between the EULA and this page, the EULA will prevail.

Hello, good people of the fog!

We now have a team Associate Community Managers, as well as an updated in-game report system.
With your help, we will be able to find the players who are creating a bad game experience and punish them appropriately, making the game a better place.

    HOW TO REPORT A PLAYER

You may only report things that happen directly to you or in a game that you were in.
Reporting for other people is not allowed and these reports will be discarded.
(ie. Reporting someone on behalf of a friend, streamer, or other)

    Fill the In-game report

An In-game report MUST be made. This is not optional, and is a must to help us identify the person in your game as well as find any other evidence we need.

    Customer Support ticket?

    • Video evidence is required or heavily suggested for some offenses, please refer to the lists below.
    • Whilst you can report offenses directly to our support, please only do so for serious offenses like cheating, hacking, DOX/death threats.

    Discarded reports reasons

THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT CONSIDERED BANNABLE OFFENSES - PLEASE DO NOT REPORT

    • Camping
    • Slugging
    • Tunneling
    • Streamsniping
    • Teabagging
    • Bodyblocking
    • Looping

    NOTE:
We do not control anything that happens outside of Dead by Daylight.
This includes private Steam messages/groups/names, PS4/XBOX messages, Discord messages, Twitch/social media interactions, etc. Anything that occurs on these platforms must be reported to the respective authorities.

Hi, I have a friend and she’s being bully and stalked by a guy. She has blocked him on switch and social media sites, but he keeps making false accounts to try and get to her. He has found her multiple times in game and camped her on hook, “tunneled” (I say that in parenthesis because I know it’s not actually a thing) her off hook, hooked her again, and then stood there watching her while hitting her on the hook until she either gives up or dies. Afterwards he posted the footage to his social media accounts calling her vulgar names and slandering her. Those posts have been reported and removed for hate speech (he has also been removed from some fb groups because of said hate speech). The cycle of mental abuse continues though. Now, he’s created a false fb account and contacted all of us trying to get into our group for a “mori hit list of players he hates”. When confronted he says he “doesn’t know who that person is”... the next sentence he says “oh that’s because I hate the guy in dbd.” This has made playing the game for her very difficult, so much so that she won’t play unless we’re on because we are from a different country than her and she can play on our servers away from him and his partner (who will get in the lobby with her and work with him to get her). She has since stopped playing with this person all together. Unfortunately, because of this, she has lost that person as a friend. What do we do to stop this abuse and bully all together? She’s afraid he’s going to find a way to get on our servers and attack us just to get at her. Please Help! This has got to stop.

Try contacting the DBD support directly and ask them what to do: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us

Though for anything outside of the game this is probably something for police to handle.

I mean, we can have 4 identical Dwights in the same game; what would be any worse with the Killer potentially chasing themselves?

Explain it as the survivor version being a "What if" version of her, Amanda if she had decided to not help Jigsaw or betray him. I could also totally see the Entity bringing in a version of a killer from an alternate reality as a survivor just to mindfuck with both the killer version and the survivor version.

Challenges are killing the game. So many players are playing so selfishly and dumb just to do challenges.

All the issues could be solved easily if the battlepass didn't have an expiration date, then players wouldn't be incentivized to grind the challenges as quickly as possible, potentially even on characters they would not normally play and thus don't even have good perks on. The developers would make slightly less money in this case though, so obviously that is completely unacceptable.

    • Not breaking pallet that has item below (due to FD)

All of this is very toxic yet fun but I believe it is not banable even when receive numerous threats in the after chat

    No to all of those:

Sure , I didn't do much gens but all I tried was doing the challenge and I ended the game with it done pretty easily.

That's still a problem because that makes you useless as a teammate. It is however the most efficient way to complete this, and it's better to finish it quickly so you can play normally again. This particular challenge is just really badly designed.

  • @5thPerkSlot said:

Competition to survive makes you betray others... sometimes...

    Imagine you have 3 perks:

    • Betrayer (lv30): pointing at a surv hidden into a locker both inside the terror radius grants you 300/500/800 BPs
    • Thug (lv35): when behind a surv, after a hard skill check steal his/her item, with cooldown of 180/150/120 secs
    • Beaten up (lv40): once per match, press action when in front of surv, both trigger hard skill checks, the one that does better beats up the other (with animation of fights), the loser gets wounded or in dying state with a 2/3/5% of chances

wouldn't be this so cool and fun? DBD needs to innovate with disruptive ideas like this

The concept of selfish survivor perks is good but the perks you listed are not. They are just too negative.

    Better:

Kleptomaniac. When being healed by another Survivor holding an item, increase their healing speed by X% and remove Y% charges of the held item per second.

Note that the held item does not have to be a medkit, it can be any item.

That's still probably too unfun but it has applications outside of just ruining another player's fun. For example you could search a chest, find something that is not a medkit and give it to someone healing you. The charges of the item would be drained but you would be healed faster.

Nah, disable it outright when you start repairing a generator, get into a locker, or are fully healed, and when the killer downs someone else.

Instead of "when the killer down someone" it should be "when the killer hooks someone". If another survivor goes for a dumb play and unhooks you in front of the killer the killer can't just down both of you and hook you again immediately. By forcing them to hook whoever went for the awful unhook first there is a slight chance for someone competent to come help you.

  • @Gonourakuto said:

Rank 1 survivor here because i rather waste 20 sec to self care than spend the entire game wounded and probably waste more time by trying to be overly careful because i am a 1 shot instead self caring

you being bad and not understanding a perk value doenst mean it is

You could just bring a medkit instead.

  • That's like Sprint Burst, but worse. If you are using this against the Nurse you auto-lose.

  • This should probably be posted be posted as a comment on the profile of a moderato. It's more likely to get attention from someone who can answer this instead, even if asking about why a thread was deleted is not against the forum rules so I guess posting it like this is fine too?

  • Yes because right now it’s promoting DCs, which is something that should never happen in any video game. It’s very sad to see people defending DCing.

Quoting is broken right now so I am quoting like this, this is in reference to this post: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1337790/#Comment_1337790

When you disconnect you lose all your points. The survivor disconnecting to give the hatch will lose more points generally than the survivor getting the hatch gains by escaping. Outside of SWF this isn't really a thing either, and when one person in a SWF disconnects the entire party needs to wait out the DC timer. It's dumb that you can do it but I doubt that anything is going to be done about it as the DC penalty exists.

  • You already indirectly get less points as you can't use a map offering and an offering that increases points at the same time.

  • If you are doing well BBQ will double your points. If you are doing poorly then there is no perk that you could have used instead of BBQ that would have fixed it. For that reason I will also run it on Pyramid Head, and I think a lot of other people will as well.

So you want to nerf what many consider to be one of the weakest killers in the game? You aren't supposed to avoid him easily.

This. The entire point of the power is that it is very easy to get a first hit, and this first hit is even stronger than a regular attack. A regular attack deals one health state worth of damage, Feral Frenzy does 1.5, if you consider Deep Wounds to be worth half a health state.

Regardless of how strong the power is this is a valid niche that other killer powers don't really have and it should keep occupying this niche.

  • @ALostPuppy said:

It's up there but DS isn't the strongest perk, that would go to Object of Obsession.

It literally breaks the game and gives the survivors an absurd amount of information. The drawback isn't even one because no good survivor is going to care if they get seen by the killer because they know how, and want to run one around. If you're not a stealth killer it's almost always a GG, and even then it's still a great perk because anyone with a brain and moderate game knowledge can triangulate a killers position when they see the perk lighting up.

I believe the strongest counter to it is to just tunnel the survivor running the perk for the entire game, and then camping them to death. This however is not fun for anyone. So you can just ignore whoever is running it and potentially permanently reveal your position to every survivor if they are SWF or go for awful plays and tunnel. Both options are bad. Outside of SWF though this perk is just awful and not really worth it. It should get a rework.

By far, Monstrous Shrine. Every other situational perk in the game does have a very, very rare scenario where it is extremely powerful, or at least useful. Monstrous Shrine doesn't even do its 1 job well. It's a joke of a perk.

The argument could also be made for WGLF, since that has even less (absolutely zero) effect on anything in the trial at all, but it gives bonus BP post-trial so I don't think it counts.

Yes that perk is just bad. There is no way to fix it outside of a complete rework. If you just increase the numbers to the point where survivors want to actually play around it they can just stay away from wherever the basement is. With the current values it doesn't really matter or accomplish anything relevant.

We're Gonna Live Forever: I mean, it quite literally does nothing

Boil Over: I have never escaped solely due to this perk, nor has it deterred me when I'm killer.

Up the Ante: honestly,i forgot this existed and had to look it up. Luck does practically nothing for a team.

Sole Survivor: Ew. Waiting for others to die is guh-ross.

No Mither: I'm sure Spirit and Oni appreciate these players...really all killers.

Deja Vu: If you need to perk to tell you not to 3-gen strat yourself, there is an issue.

Slippery Meat: Lewd, but its definitely better to let someone else get you off. or just use deliverence.

I could go on, but thats too much text for one post

Boil Over: I have never escaped solely due to this perk, nor has it deterred me when I'm killer.

Boil Over is easy to fix though, make it create scratchmarks while you are being carried. Now the killer doesn't know if someone is near the hook waiting for them to leave to unhook or if it's just the scratchmarks created by Boil Over. It still wouldn't be amazing but at least it would be slightly more interesting as a perk.

Deja Vu: If you need to perk to tell you not to 3-gen strat yourself, there is an issue.

While not a great perk it has its uses. You can use it to try and create a situation where the last three generators are spread far apart, for example on Azarov's Resting Place, one generator on one side of the map and two on the other side. Makes it basically impossible for the killer to patrol all generators.

Slippery Meat: Lewd, but its definitely better to let someone else get you off. or just use deliverence.

The sad thing is that the current version is already a lot stronger than the pre-buff version but it's still so worthless. And it's not even a teachable, so this is one of the first perks that new players have access to. It is in desperate need of a complete rework.

Tbh I know the combo is a little OP but it's used for a good reason. If its at an exit gate I get why it would be a problem, but DS already covers that anyway so unbreakable doesn't have much to do with it.

I think overall its a combo that is needed if someone gets tunnelled a lot. I mean, its only fair really. If the killer is smart enough and not to mention desperate enough to slug someone in case of DS, then that person has every right to bring Unbreakable to counter that situation. If anything it teaches killers not to tunnel even more, and I like that thought.

Unbreakable is rarely run without DS (in my experience, EU region on PC). It sees use in builds that already run DS because it guarantees that either your DS can be used or you can recover yourself and keep the DS for later. You are using half your perk slots to guarantee either your DS activates or you can recover with Unbreakable while the killer can't pick you up due to DS, and for the killer not picking someone up who might have DS active is generally the right play as that wastes more time of the survivor side than picking them up and getting stunned. Assume that the killer not being able to pick someone up because of a potential DS happens once per game (technically you get two chances for DS, after your first and second unhook each, but the killer won't always down you in the 60 seconds that DS is active after being unhooked).

In that case you are using two perk slots to activate one effect per game, either activating the DS to stun or using Unbreakable to recover (again, technically you can get both of these per game but that is rare, on average it should be roughly one of these effects per game). And that is still so strong that it is worth running. Using half your perk slots to activate an effect once per game is so strong that it's worth running. This would be okay if all the other survivor perks were so weak that they are not worth running, but that is not the case. I can list three good survivors perks which you can't all run in the same build as DS+Unbreakable because those two use up two of the three perk slots you would need: Iron Will, Spine Chill, any Exhaustion perk (this list not meant to be exhaustive, and the perks listed are not meant to represent the strongest perks survivors have, just perks with good effects). Each of those perks gives a good effect, but those effects are still worse than using two perk slots to get one other effect (DS stun or Unbreakable recovery once per game, see first paragraph). And that is a problem, that should show just how strong that one effect you can get off is.

DS is not only useful when you get tunnelled off a hook, DS enables you to go for awful plays, for example repairing a generator or opening a gate even though the killer is coming towards you, going for awful unhooks because the person you unhook can DS, and so can you if you get picked up instead, and so on.

At the same time DS is theoretically very easy to play around, as you just need to keep track of the time when a survivor was unhooked and when you want to pick them up check if a minute has passed, but that is such a boring and uninteresting counterplay that I don't think anyone really bothers with it. The exception to this being when two survivors are left, one is hooked, second survivor unhooks, you hook and kill that survivor, find the last survivor and then stand over them for a minute to ensure that the DS has definitely run out, which is super boring for everyone involved. The other option is to ignore a survivor that you have found because they might have DS active, but in that case the survivor can just get free time on a generator for example, or jump in a locker and force you to lose a bunch of time, or again, ignore them.

Lastly even if DS really only worked when the killer tunnels, and never outside of this situation, then you will still have DS active against a killer that doesn't tunnel all game if you survive until the gates are open and get unhooked. A killer get seven hooks in total, two on each survivor and one hook on the fourth survivor, which is a lot of hooks. The survivor that was hooked only once however still has DS. If that survivor then gets hooked with the gates open there is a very high chance of just outright securing an escape thanks to DS. If the killer had tunnelled during the game then the DS would be inactive and that survivor would be guarenteed to die. And that is a problem. DS is not just a perk that punished tunnelling killers but a perk that is just so generally strong that it is always worth running, when it appears that originally it was supposed to be a counter to specific situations.

  • Why do you care about getting four kills instead of three?

An Ebony Memento Mori brings the 12 hooks/chases and 24 hits required down to 8 and 16, respectively - down by one third. An equivalent survivor offering would put the total number of required generators slightly above 3. However, to be truly comparable, generators would need to run around the map, hide, and completely regress all the progress you made by themselves, as opposed to being static objects that announce their presence and require the killer to have them slowly regress, but I digress.

If you want to look at it in terms of time, it will take a maximum of 420 seconds for all five generators and the exit gate to be opened, assuming a single survivor is doing all the work and there is no travel time. A chase, meanwhile, is over in 60 seconds (at least in red ranks, which is where I am at the moment). 12 chases are therefore equivalent to 720 seconds, again assuming there is no travel time. Two thirds of that is 480 seconds.

This means that an Ebony Memento Mori, under these conditions where 3 of the survivors are doing nothing except being chased, brings down the maximum time spent chasing and hooking to just above the amount of time it would take one survivor to repair every generator and open the exit gates.

In conclusion, no, I don't see why Moris are a badly designed game mechanic.

PS: If you want to complain that my scenario is "not realistic" (even though that's its purpose, to point out how even under the worst circumstances for the survivors, they come out on top), then I hope you bring a realistic scenario to the table as opposed to equating one hook and two chases with the time it takes to repair one generator.

One of the main issues that I don't really see discussed is that moris are an offering. Generally the stuff that makes you more "powerful" comes in the form of add-ons or items for survivors. The fog and hook offerings are similar but signifcantly weaker. You can run the best add-ons in addition to a mori which gives you a lot more additional power. In that regard yes, I would say they are badly designed (or rather just outdated). A way to bring moris more in line with the rest of the game would be to convert them to add-ons that every killer can use as the add-ons are what increases your power and not really the offerings.

I highly doubt a report is going to do anything. Most likely any report will be closed because of the disconnect penalty. If you report for this though you should probably record it and make a report to the support in addition to the in-game report with a video. The Windows game recording thingy (press Windows key + G) gives you access to the last 30 seconds, so you can get footage even if you weren't recording the entire match. No idea if other recording software can do the same.

Any indoor map because I literally just can't remember where anything is because there are no identifying markers.

You can find generators very easily on those maps. If a room has flickering lights then there is a generator in it. If the lights are on then there is a generator and it is repaired. If there are no lights there is no generator.

On Lery's for example some rooms have big signs. If the sign is flickering there is a generator in it. If the sign is on then there is a fully repaired generator. If the sign is off then there is no generator. This doesn't help with overall navigation of the map but it makes finding generators a lot easier.

And Osmon a close second. It has terrible performance, the terrain is annoying with lots of weirdly shaped objects that are annoying to move around and it is way too huge.

The question is most likely because of the "Grab someone from a locker while using Iron Maiden" challenge. BBQ doesn't help for that as they would have to stay in the locker for a long time. Even outside of the challenge the majority of survivors prefer the "Let's complain about how OP BBQ is despite refusing to use the very easy counter of going into a locker" approach.

Play Leatherface or wait for someone to try to DS you by going into a locker. You will get the challenge progress even if you get DS'd after grabbing them.

Yes, they can read chat logs. That's all I will say to that, sorry.

Is it OK to ALWAYS make a support ticket with chat screenshots in addition to an in-game report for chat-related reports, or does that create too much work and should not be overused? (I assume that handling a support ticket with screenshots is more work than working through just an in-game report with no additional support ticket)

Can one make a support ticket for a report first and then make an in-game report with a reference to the support ticket, and does that help in any way? I am thinking of something like this: "I am reporting because of racial slurs, screenshots attached in support ticket ######" in the in-game report form.

  • @Gay Myers (Luzi) said:

Hey, a in-game report is necessary and any additional evidence (for chat harassment screenshots) can be sent to support!

What does the support see when you make an in-game report? Do they get access to the entire chatlog or only the messages up to the point when you report?

Basically: If someone is being nasty in chat, and I make a report, but after I make the report the same person starts spamming racial slurs, does support see that too or not because it happened after the report was created?

  • When exhaustion recovery while running existed it took twice as long to recover while running, that's a 100% slowdown. You suggest an 8% slowdown. That's absolutely insane.

Much more likely that someone Alt+F4s or kills the process in the task manager during loading because of the potential mori which causes issues for everyone else.

  • Your "Trends" section has little value without the data. Even then your sample size is too small to draw conclusions.

Suggestions to make your post more useful:

Most sacrifices where due to Exit Gates spawning on the same wall.

    What percentage is that?

Indoor maps are extremely survivor sided.

What percentage of maps were indoor?

Blackwater Swamp seems to be the most balanced EGC map, compared to other maps

There is no such map. Blackwater Swamp is a realm that has two maps: The Pale Rose and Grim Pantry. Are you referring to the realm or a specific map? What percentage of games were on maps of the Blackwater Swamp realm or the specific map?

Now, with that said, I want to stress the next part, these numbers are subject to change since I'm always expanding on the experiment with more games.

You should specify and separate the numbers by game version as patches can be impactful.

Dude it has nothing to do with the explanation. 🤦‍♂️

I'm not trying to tell people what the difference is. I'm telling the DEVELOPERS to use a DIFFERENT TERM to avoid confusion.

People who do not know the difference might read this thread. Those people are then going to be confused because you do not properly differantiate between the bannable action (trapping someone indefinitely) and the non-bannable action (temporarily trapping someone to charge a chainsaw, ...). I made suggestions to make your thread easier to understand in general. I don't feel like my suggestion is unreasonable or rude. If you disagree with it, which you obviously can, then feel free to ignore it.

What I do find unreasonable however is your response. To me the tone of it appears to be rude which is increased even by more the use of your facepalm emoji. I want to politely request that you use a milder tone if you disagree with someone else's opinion in the future.

I'm talking about in their list of bannable offenses. They explain it more fully there but they use the term "body blocking".

"Soft lock" is a more appropriate term because that's what you are doing. This post is about the term not the definition, because the term is used in 2 different contexts.

I'm talking about in their list of bannable offenses.

That is also not clear at all. If someone reads just this thread and doesn't know the difference already then I feel like they will be very confused. I think your suggestion is good but very confusing, it would be much clearer if you specified that you are refering to the offenses list in your original post.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

If the killer body blocks a survivor such that the survivor cannot move at all call it SOFT LOCKING.

This is a term used in other games to describe a situation where the player is stuck indefinitely in one place and the only way to get out of it is to quit the game (see Mario Maker). This would help to differentiate it between normal body blocking, where a survivor takes a hit while the killer is carrying or when the killer blocks the survivor to get a free hit (eg. chainsaw).

Honestly getting tired of seeing threads about "body blocking" where the person does not understand the concept of what is actually bannable and what is allowed. This way there is no confusion. Both actions have different terms.

    BODY BLOCKING is allowed.

    SOFT LOCKING is bannable.

    Simple.

This way there is no confusion. Both actions have different terms.

I feel like you don't properly explain the difference. Based on your description it seems like if you block a survivor for any amount of time as a killer you get banned.

Yeah, it does make it feel a bit like "those are just placeholders" was mostly just something players were told to calm them down, even if it was technically true.

Having said that, people do have a tendency to freak out about things without even examining or testing them themselves, and the devs are surely aware of that. If I were a dev, I probably wouldn't have listened to feedback from people who hadn't even attempted the challenges yet either.

This first Tome is a test run. I expect they're waiting to see how many people actually do manage to complete the challenges and/or the Rift before drawing any conclusions about changes that need to be made, because while preemptive criticism has its place, hard data and informed feedback are always more useful and reliable than spur-of-the-moment ideas and opinions.

Yeah, it does make it feel a bit like "those are just placeholders" was mostly just something players were told to calm them down, even if it was technically true.

There is no way they were real placeholders. The part 4 tasks had very specific requirements, the descriptions for them were properly formatted and most importantly all there. None of them appeared unfinished. This same company refuses to update the fourth option in the report menu to remove "Ragequitting" as a valid report reason (as the automated system is supposed to handle that) because it would be too much work.

It was always just a lazy attempt to sucker people into buying the battlepass without being able to see all the challenges upfront.

And again, difficulty wouldn't even be an issue if the system wasn't intentionally badly designed (bad for the players). The entire battlepass and challenge system could just not be limited in terms of time to complete it. Let players switch between them at will so they can do the tasks at their own pace that they find suitable. Buy it once = finish it whenever you like.

There is no good reason for this system to be available only for a limited amount of time other than greed.

If it is the same players insulting you consistently consider making a report in-game and to the support for targeted harassment - this only applies if the same players are doing this though. I use that perk in combo with we'll make it. Add a little spinechill and you almost everytime you get the first negative stacks on the unhooked person.

It works wonderful in red ranks with increased billys and slugging myers. I usually equip a brown medkit so I don't cuck my teammate being slugged on the floor.

I like to use it for a few hours per session but not always in my setup, just too much effort.

I don't know how exactly what causes skillchecks to be triggered but I would assume that the faster healing speed from We'll Make It is going to make it less likely to get skillchecks which will result in less stacks for Autodidact. If you feel like you are getting more skillchecks while running these three perks (Autodidact, We'll Make it and Spine Chill) then I would expect that to be the result of Spine Chill and We'll Make It being detrimental to your setup.

I think the idea is for it to be a counter to the Mangled status effect (mostly from Sloppy Butcher) and pretty much nothing else.

If you want to heal fast(er) just bring a med-kit or Pharmacy and then use the med-kit you get from your first chest. The majority of the time that will be more efficient than this RNG perk.
