Nurse's Fluid Nightingale skin made a guest appearance recently so it can be inferred that the others will be joining her in the store. Furthermore the devs confirmed on a recent qna from home that they plan to release the rest of tome 1 to the store too.
I remembered that too but I couldn't find a news post or anything that confirms it. Do you have a source for it? Or a screenshot from the store maybe that shows that it is now available?
-
It has now been over a year and the items are still missing, and there are no news.
The battlepass items may as well be considered to be legacy 2.0, 3.0, ... and so on at this point. If you didn't get them when they were available, you will never get them.

Getting rid of the popup of a gen pop, gen explosion or hooking of a survivor. All it does is make you not know where the killer is after a hook and no idea where to throw a hatchet after a gen pop. At least make it see through or something
I think that might actually by design.

A wasted perk slot that gives you 60 seconds of immunity is defenatly not a wasted perk slot. Though i like current DS better than old one as it saves people from getting down fast after unhook, the argument of "Oh JuSt dONt TuNnEl" is flawed in so many ways. Though again it's not fun to getting down relentlessly and i really think the perk is needed but it needs tweaks

DS is basically a Power Star from Mario games. You touch the survivor = you die.

wouldn’t work.
killers could just moonwalk, wraith could just cloak ect to not start chase.
not only that, you can easily avoid 30 seconds by being slugged. that wouldn’t help with tunnelling at all.
If anything it should be based off how close you are to the killer, further you are away, quicker it goes down.
for example, ds has 60 charges. being in chase pauses the timer.
being within 10 metres of the killer for longer then 3 seconds while not in chase pauses the timer. (to prevent people from moonwalking to enter chase ect)
being within 10-20 metres of the killer causes it to go down 1 charges a second.
being within 20-25 causes it to go down 1.2 charges a second
25-32 causes it to go down 1.4 charges a second
32-40 is 1.6
40+ is 2 charges a second
or something on the line of that. that way it’s about how close the killer is, further they are, quicker it goes down.
I like your suggestion but I feel like it is too complicated. It also has the (unintended?) side-effect of revealing how close stealth killers are. Pig crouching somewhere near you for example would make the timer slow down. If you make it based on whether or not the killer currently has a terror radius in addition to the distance, then you need to deal with a lot of weird situations such as Oblivious status effect, Dark Devotion, ...
The general concept is good but the execution is too complex. I don't have a suggestion that simplifies your idea though.

but in that you are constantly making the experience for other survs miserable becuase you cant win a 3v1 just becuase you dont like a killer. wouldnt u rather wanna learn to outplay them. atleast then u get a sense of reward or accomplishment.
I am certain these kind of players are why good Nurse players destroy everyone. When she first came out a lot of survivors suicided or disconnected immediately. Those who did not learned how to play against her. So the Nurse players only faced survivors who knew how to counter her as everyone else disconnected or suicided, and so they got even better.
The serial suiciders / disconnecters will never learn how to play against certain killers and are going to get steamrolled hard in the future.

spaghetti code strikes back. Somehow, without changing anything related to skins, every player got exclusive skins in the inventory.
Could have been caused by an attempt to give out the some / all of the items to specific accounts, such as giving the dev shirt to new devs who didn't have it yet. Then after the patch whatever was responsible for giving the items out to only specific accounts gave it to everyone.

So if you found survivor doing gen in your face and he jumps in the locker when you're going to stop him you're tunneler. Try to play killer. Meet this situation and stop making dumb comments
The problem is more with DS itself, if you have time to work on a generator, among other things, it should deactivate. This has been brought up many times before though and at this point it seems unlikely that DS is ever going to be changed. It has been in its current state for a long time, complaints about it are not new but there are no news regarding a possible update to it.

Serious question.
I've found more and more, my games are won or lost within 5 minutes... and more and more, I find myself not even bothering to waste time kicking gens. Each game I play seems to depend on me being able to snowball - it doesn't matter what happens with gens, whether I get 3 hooks before they complete 1 or 1 hook when they complete 3... the only thing that matters is winning 1 chase, preferably quickly, while chasing them to the right part of the map where they have to choose between gens and rescuing, and then forcing trades.
In light of this, kicking gens feels like a waste of time.
Am I misplaying this? How do killers feel about the current pacing of the game at present. As a note, I typically don't run gen regression, as I don't have Pop (though I'm working on it, got Clown this weekend) or Undying. Without Undying, Ruin always goes quickly as savvy survivors Ruin check their gen and quickly make finding it their priority. So, I recognize I'm essentially playing with 1 hand tied behind my back already.
Only if you are running Surveillance. Otherwise no, don't bother. Other perks that trigger on kicking a generator are bad and not worth running (Overcharge, Dragon's Grip).

What about this exactly is an exploit?
I saw these cosmetics today in my inventory and thought they were freely given away, just like the other event cosmetics before.
How should anyone know this was a bug? Does this mean it is bannable if someone uses those cosmetics which they have in their inventory?
I saw these cosmetics today in my inventory and thought they were freely given away, just like the other event cosmetics before.
I saw someone using one of the items in-game, checked my own inventory and saw that I also had those new items and assumed the same thing: That they were given out to everyone, like former exclusives have been given out in the past.

For the OP's Defense, Exploit or not everyone has found out about this. Either from DbD Leaks on Twitter, From Reddit, or here. So the damage has already been done.
Yet those who have recieved this makes a fantastic point as well how would devs take away these items? Some could have been legitimately recieved or has been given in this intentional or unintentional bug.
So I understand that exploits should not be popularized yet this exploit happened for everyone. Consoles or not (I assume). So at this point trying to minimize spread of this Knowledge is nearly impossible. But thank you for staying true to your title as Moderator.
Much Love.

(Hopefully you didn't take offense if I did super sorry 😅👻)
Using the items is not an exploit. Telling people about it is also not an exploit. As per the forum rules doing either of those things or revealing how to do it results in an immediate permaban, and OP was not banned. The thread was also not closed or deleted.
I read the comment as a sort of preemptive warning not to discuss another exploit that may or may not exist and may or may not have been introduced with the same patch that erroneously gave people access to these items. Don't discuss this hypothetical other exploit that may or may not exist and don't go looking for information on it.

Honestly I'm 100-percent wondering if they're actually going to take it away if they do it goes against their stance of moving away from exclusives.
If they keep it then it brings up the question of are they going to to do the same for the things like the death garden masks
Fun fact: Literally any cosmetic can be removed from your account at will. Even those you have spent money on. The EULA allows this. Going back on the stance on exclusives is entirely possible.

The login rewards were only a way to pump up their daily users, and a way to do damage control at the same time.
I've been with the game for two years, been through some downright awful changes. But this event is the worst I have felt out of any time I've played dbd.
The devs not doing a post mortem statement really shows how they don't really care that they got called out for trying to dip into our wallets more than usual.
To be fair Halloween just ended, and it was a weekend. It makes sense to wait for the event to be over proper and then assess the situation. A statement might not be ready yet, but it should be possible to answer the question of whether or not one is coming.

But how about filling blank spots with items from bloodweb or streamers. Charms are really only good on killer, at least you can see them. They made streamers so rare now anyway.

I believe the log in rewards were the fix Cote spoke about it and I don't think anything else is coming. I could be wrong but that stream was, what, a week ago? And nothing else has changed.
That was likely the only thing that was attempted to "fix" the event, but there might still be something coming up later. Or at the very least an acknowledgement that the event didn't work out as planned, the kind of "postmortem" that I am asking about.

They didn't do any of this stuff for us. I wish the devs would of tried as hard for the current players who love this game.
New players are more valuable to them.
Anyone who joins the game now is okay with predatory monetization, whereas older players might not be okay with it. But players who are okay with it will bring more money, so they are preferable, and older players (in terms of when they started playing, not physical age) are undesirable.

Who this licensed killer might be, I have no clue, but I like to think it might be another one from a video game.
The latest battlepass has at least three sets related to space, so it might be something sci-fi-y. Plague's set mentions the moon, Kate has some sort of cosmic top and Jake gets some kind of astronaut suit.

Yep, think about how insane that is, the insult to injury that is this event.
I played the last 2 events, I got 2 parts from it, and now because I have 2 parts I cannot benefit from the discount and have to pay the full 400 auric cells to get the last part.
Meanwhile people who never spend time on the previous event can buy the entire set for 300 auric cells, these players are better off then me timewise and financially.
Wrap your head around that one, quality move BHVR, pretty good job so far.
I have the Hillbilly pants and I could buy the entire set for 200 Auric Cells - at least the message asking me to confirm the purchase appears. Does the set not appear for you in the store or do you get some kind of error message when you try to buy the entire set for 300 Auric Cells?
-
@BioX said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1710932#Comment_1710932
no, its till bs that first of all the discount is not for individual pieces and second of all that I cant pay the set price for 1 part because right now that would be cheaper.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1710934#Comment_1710934
put the same discount on the individual pieces... 75% discount on 400 auric cells is 100 auric cells so that sitll would add up to the smae 300 auric cells the set costs without being tied to buying cosmetics you dont want.
Just to clarify, you own two of the pieces of the set, and want to buy the third piece. The third piece costs 400 Auric Cells. The entire set is on discount, and costs 300 Auric Cells. Because you already own two pieces of the set, the store doesn't let you buy the entire set for 300 Auric Cells, but rather you have to buy the one piece you are missing for 400 Auric Cells?

I rather not the game go Free-2-Play because it'd invite even more hackers in. Considering BHVR haven't bothered actually protecting their game from hackers, and that Easy-Anti-Cheat is garbage as #########, going Free-2-Play would ruin the game.
But I can definitely agree. BHVR is monetizing their game like it was a Free-2-Play game. We're only missing literal Pay-2-Win and Lootboxes. Suppose that's only a stone throw's away at this point.
We're only missing literal Pay-2-Win and Lootboxes.
The EULA allows that. So it is not unlikely that these will indeed be added to the game.

Or the ability for killers to walk through walls.
Or a laser-flashlight that can kill the killer.

Or any manner of pay-to-win options.
The Game may, from time to time, feature virtual goods. Virtual goods include but are not limited to virtual items (characters, accessories, items such as “character customization”, power-ups), points, credits, tokens and currency (collectively, “Virtual Goods”) for use in the Game.

What I have listed above can be considered a power-up. The EULA says that power-ups may be sold. Therefore pay-to-win elements do not violate the EULA. Applying the logic that no one should complain because the EULA allows it: No one should complain about pay-to-win elements in the game.
Just because the EULA allows it, does not mean that doing it is not a stupid idea. And it does not mean that the playerbase shouldn't fight back against it.

I fully agree, at this point it's a matter of momentary gain or long term client trust.
Although the money they are getting right now is certainly real and more tangible than a potential increase or decrease in future sale.
This is a video game and video community tend to have a high turn around in player base, hence making it likely that the long term impact be negligible at best.
You're almost certainly right, but I think there is a slight chance that unhappy players (unhappy due to this situation with being denied a refund) will tell their friends about this, and those friends then don't buy the game. Maybe that spreads to friends-of-friends - "No, don't buy Dbd, X told me that they don't treat their players well and recently quit playing. Also they added pay-to-win items that turn everyone into Teletubbies, but their EULA allows that, so that's cool I guess."
I really don't think that the discussion point "The EULA allows it" is really important at all. I don't think anyone is denying that the EULA allows it, but rather that it's still a bad decision that makes a lot of players unhappy. Just because the EULA allows it doesn't mean it has to be followed. If everyone who bought the skins before the sale is just given what they have spent as free currency then it's not a refund, and allowed by the EULA. A refund implies that the items are returned, if they are never returned then there is no refund.
-
@Slunkster said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1708512#Comment_1708512
When the sale was never planed or advertised in the first place huge difference, almost if not nobody at all, even amongst the most dedicated players, would buy something instantly for shards when they know they can get it for more than 50% less the next day.
If the sale WAS planned then they purposely scammed early buyers by not advertising it, no way around it.
In other words: Anyone who has bought the items before the sale started and is not refunded will lose a big chunk of trust in BHVR and that trust can never be regained by BHVR.
They now have to ask themelves: What is more valuable, the trust from the playerbase or the money they lose by refunding those players? (While Iridescent Shards are not the same as AurIc Cells there is still some kind of implicit loss because people can buy skins with the refunded Shards which they then naturally will not spend Auric Cells on.)

Whilst I appreciate the sentiment on this thread, I'm sorry but the information I have is that there are no refunds as per our EULA, any item purchased can go on sale at any time.

-
Plague's origin story in-game is actually wrong. She was actually a teacher at this preschool.
One day she was super drunk, drove the toy car that you can also see in the picture through the fence and, in order to not get arrested, started pretending that she is some kind of ancient priestess. That's why she can vomit at will. She is super drunk. She is also not speaking in some ancient language, she is just slurring because of all the alcohol.
That's why there is now a hole in the fence.
This is now canon.

Why is Plague being ignored? Out of all the killers she has the lowest pick rate.

How little respect does this company even have for its dedicated players? Simply terrible. At this point I just want them to respond, I won't repeat my earlier arguments anymore. Just keep this thread up until they finally give in.
"The developers are reading this thread but don't have anything to say at the moment." is the best (and only really) response you can hope for.
There is the "BHVR Read" reaction. It's usable only by developers, and can be used to show a thread has been read, without having to respond to it. This thread seems like a good target, if it is actually being read. This reaction has currently not been used on this thread.
It hasn't been used in a long time though, and my question about whether that is due it being bugged currently was ignored:

"The developers are not violating the arbitrary rules that they have complete control over and that they themselves have instantiated." is a pretty low standard to meet. I heard a streamer say that, after they had given out codes, so it's probably correct.
How to type in the code:
- 1) watch streamer
- 2) wait for code to appear, as far as I know there is no unified schedule across streamers
- 3) when code appears ZA WARUDO
- 4) go MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA on your keyboard
- 5) cry because you were still not fast enough. But it's not your fault, it's because the event and the code system are both just really badly designed
It won't say "Code expired" or anything like that, it will say "Code invalid" when all the uses of the code have expired. But it will also say "Code invalid" if the code is actually invalid. As far as I know there is no way to know if you mistyped or if the code expired.

The Halloween Blight events started in 2018.
In 2018 we had The Hallowed Blight. You collected putrid serum and could unlock 2 full cosmetics. With extra bloodpoints, decorations and music, the community was happy.
In 2019 we had The Withering Blight. You collected putrid serum and could unlock 1 cosmetic. The community was unhappy with this. The community rioted and it was changed to give us 2 cosmetics we could unlock for free.
In 2019 we have The Eternal Blight. You dont collect serum to unlock event cosmetics. The community was unhappy with this. The community rioted and it was changed to give us 1 cosmetic we could unlock for free.
BHVR knew we would be unhappy with only one unlockable cosmetic. They wanted us to pay for the event. So they released with no unlockable event cosmetics and knowing we would be unhappy. They would then give us a way to unlock one cosmetic to make us happy. They want us to be happy to get played an manipulated.
To be clear, I dont think we're "entitled to free stuff". I dont think we need to have cosmetics for free. I do think BHVR should have put the slightest amount of effort into their game at the biggest time of the year for them. They are trying to manipulate us so we'll be happy to be screwed. I wont. Will you?
This is accurate, but you forgot to mention that players who bought the cosmetics are being thrown under the bus by being denied a refund:

I had around 74k iridescent shards and spent 43200 in two skins and now, without any warning, each skin costs 9k.

I'm done with this game.
I lost my time getting all those shards to getting literally scammed.
That's a developer who really put their players in first place, huh?
The players who, despite the issues with the event, still bought the skins, get nothing.

The EULA excuse is bad. They are in control of the EULA. If the EULA is so important then they could just give everyone who bought the skins an equivalent amount of free currency. Then it's not technically a refund and thus not a violation.

while i can understand the though process behind it, limiting it to 10 persons per code is ridiculous.
i honestly feel like i have a better chance guessing the code than actually winning one in a stream, ngl.
The codes look like UUIDs.
Here is what Wikipedia has to say about collisions:
A universally unique identifier (UUID) is a 128-bit number used to identify information in computer systems. The term globally unique identifier (GUID) is also used, typically in software created by Microsoft.[1]For example, the number of random version-4 UUIDs which need to be generated in order to have a 50% probability of at least one collision is 2.71 quintillion
There are multiple codes so the chance is actually quite a bit better and you won't need to generate as many codes. With a few decades of computing power you might be able to randomly guess one.

I've read the whole post, and even though I agree that the general concept of charm codes distributed through twitch streams is at the very least questionable, I'm still struggling to understand how people with sight disabilities being at a disadvantage in the game itself is OK, while in case of charms distribution it suddenly becomes unacceptable.
Overall the argument you made seems overly made up and artificial, while the claim itself is rather intuitive.
I don't think it's OK that they are disadvantaged in-game, but they are at least in control of that situation. If they find that the game is unplayable to them they can refund it (depending on the platform most likely, I know only that on Steam it is possible if you have played less than 2 hours and bought the game up to 14 days ago).
Certain features are desperately needed, such as a colorblind mode. But those are not easy issues that can be fixed without a lot of work. The problem with the codes is artificially created by the developers, and could be fixed rather easily.

The claim was never that it's "okay" that they're at a disadvantage in a game, but more like designing the entire game around myriad possible disabilities simply isn't realistic or feasible, although more accessibility options would be appreciated, I'm sure. In that case it really is a bit of "that's just the reality of it." How they distribute in-game charms, on the other hand, can be controlled quite specifically and it would not be hard to make it accessible for all players.
Exactly this, thank you!

Here ya go, the rewards are available for 1-2ish months and then gets replaced by a new one.
Neat, if I understand correctly you can tie this to certain Twitch streamers? That way they would still get new viewers / subscribers, but every player has a fair chance to get the charm. That should leave no side unsatisfied.
