Fair enough. But depending on Killer the chances are not 50/50 and slightly more killer sided. But definitely still very luck based. And then we have those cool gate placements that may even change the chances to any side...
as a proud potatoe on both sides I can confirm that it’s really rare for a potatoe to get the hatch. On both sides. Even though I know most hatch spawn points.
Yep definitely. Knowing hatch spawns does tilt the favors a bit. Not only that but the killer gets to patrol for it with impunity. It's still ultimately a gamble though so yea. Agreed.

Yeah but there will always be scenarios were that one last survivor wasn’t as bad as you might think.
you are not considering DCs or teammates actually trolling one survivor, luring the killer constantly to them and going down like flys themselves. Then there are killers that use Ruin+Undying+Tinkerer and the last survivor may be too busy destroying all totems and making every hook rescue and healing etc. while constantly bringing gens to over 70 percent. You can’t say that that survivor deserves to get killed. And it is way too complicated too determine what exactly caused this scenario of 1 surv left with 5 gens to go.
You're right. These are even more niche scenarios and at this point everything else just comes down to bad game design and the hatch being a bandaid fix. The last person could still be someone who tried their absolute best and just was highly, HIGHLY unlucky to not finish one gen due to circumstances, or it could be a Blendette. But I'm not necessarily saying the last person deserves to die. It's not like the killer has them dead yet so it would be unfair if they were just guaranteed to be handed the free kill. It may sound like that's what I'm implying, which is my own fault for not being more explanatory in my original post, but I'm not. BUT it should be harder for them to escape than the 50/50 chance of hatch and then another 50/50 chance of egc doors if they still can't manage to win the first coin flip and again I say this with only the 5 gens up scenario in mind.

This is such a bizarre opinion..
why does the last survivor not deserve to escape? It’s a game, in many cases played by casual players just for fun. You don’t need to deserve to escape/get a kill. Most times it’s very luck depended how the match plays out in the first place.
i can understand how this is frustrating when you go for killer adepts, but those survs are still all actual people just playing a game to have a fun time. Maybe that surv was just doing a daily to escape and is super happy it finally worked even though they got matched with survs under their skill level for many matches (which happens very often).
Now I'm unsure if you read my whole post, but let me rephrase a bit of what I said actually. If the team did screw all the whole game and didn't finish one gen, then the last person doesn't deserve to have such a potentially super easy escape. It should be really hard for them to earn their escape. The hatch itself is just a 50/50 chance more or less. I'm fine with the last person getting the hatch in most cases. Hell I'll even give it to the last person on the not so rare occasion. But what I'm trying to say here is that there should be a requirement where hatch doesn't spawn at the end unless at least one gen is finished. If one person is left and 5 gens are still up something different should happen that would make it a lot harder for that person to escape. Why? Because they didn't contribute any work towards the survivors main goal. None of them did. It's easy to overlook but I'm only talking about a very specific scenario.

So that the game can end in less than 5 minutes if you didn't bring Whispers.
Fair point actually. The last person would just hide which would get annoying. I still don't think anyone deserves to escape in a scenario where no gens were completed but eh I guess that's reason enough. Just another demonstration of bad game design I suppose :/

Overcharge skill checks? After I know it's there yea I can hit it most of the time. But paired with unnerving presence? My god it's nearly impossible. I haven't hit one unnerving overcharge skill check in all my hours. It makes the skill checks actually take skill.

Oh ######### u right.

Right now it's Nurse, Billy, and Ghostface. Usually Trapper is in Billy's place but I've been working on my Billy curves quite a bit lately.

Sort the flashlight bug out. It frustrates me that I use light born to avoid being blinded, but whenever someone tries to flash light me I can't blink for several seconds.
This is actually a feature from the really old days of the game. If you flashlight the Nurse while she's holding a blink you can burn her similar to wraith but alot of people don't know that having the flashlight on her at all anywhere prevents her from blinking until it's off.

Well hello there. I'm a consistent R1 Ps4 Nurse main. I've kept crossplay on since it was added and I still win the majority of my matches.
-
Yea honestly I'd rather they didn't rework the Autohaven maps at all. They're my favorite the way they are.
-
As survivor probably a 6.
I understand how to loop and chain together loops and I can pretty consistently hit great skillchecks, but due to me not playing survivor very much I pretty oftenly make mistakes. The kind of mistakes that you usually stop making after enough playtime.
For killer, however, I'd say probably 8 or 8.5
I win a big majority of my matches as killer. Very seldom do I lose a match unless I'm playing a killer I'm not very familiar with. I also don't really run slowdown perks. You'll rarely catch me running more than one slowdown perk at a time. I do make mistakes though. I can't play 100% perfect every single game and even though I can still win after making those mistakes, I still acknowledge them and realize I can always do even better.
-
I mean why would anyone play if they aren't having fun?
-
-Yuno Gasai from Future Diary
-Sachiko and/or Yoshikazu from Corpse Party
-Isaac Foster from Angels of Death
-
-Becoming a god Nurse (I'm pretty decent already but I want to get even better)
-Getting better at curving Billy's chainsaw around loops/Flick Billy
-Learning how to play Blight
-Getting better at looping good killers who use mindgames

It's half of the killer's perk slots which can be destroyed. The combo is fine. It has counterplay and it stops you from losing ruin 20 seconds into the match. I don't use the combo myself but I don't blame people who do.

Can't believe @Orion hasn't been mentioned yet. Being a Dbd veteran they know a lot about the game and balance thereof and I often find myself agreeing with what they have to say in that reguard. Kudos.

I would fix all of Nurse's bugs. I'd like to do other things but that's what I want the most. She's been bugged for so long now and it's just really disappointing. I love playing her but the bugs can get really frustrating.

Tier 1 lunge is alot shorter than normal lunge.
Tier 2 is normal lunge.
Tier 3 is slightly longer than normal lunge.
I think you had lunge confused with vault speed. Vault speed is normal in T1, slightly faster in T2, and even faster in T3.

So my 3 main builds for my 3 main killers are:
Nurse: Whsipers, Ruin, Tinkerer, and Infectious Fright
Usually with double recharge add-ons but sometimes fatigue reduction or metal spoon
Trapper: Whispers, Save the Best for Last, Brutal Strength, and Blood Warden
Pretty much only extra trap and setting speed add-ons
Ghostface: Whispers, Enduring, Spirit Fury, and A Nurse's Calling
Double recharge add-ons
-
Definitely Nurse and Skillbillys. Too bad you don't see either very much these days.

Yep. I'm a big hatch giver. So much so that I've gotten a lot more thank yous and ggs than I have salt believe it or not.

I'm not really a big fan of anime, but I'm open to suggestions.
Anyways, I have such a basic ######### taste.
- Attack on titan. The first anime I've watched, WOW what an intriguing storyline, bough the manga as well.
- Death note. I love the cat and mouse stuff in death note, it's so much fun.
- Naruto+ Naruto shippuden. Very self explanatory, probably the best anime ever.
I actually haven't watched any of these. Attack on Titan and Death Note have been on my to watch list for a while now actually. I know my brother watched AoT and he said it was really good. As for Naruto I know it's probably really long so I don't think I feel like diving into it any time soon.
Naturally though I would reccomened Psycho Pass and Death Parade because those are my favorites.
Death Parade if you want something short(only 12 episodes). So imagine 2 people wake up in a bar and are told they will have to play a game with both their lives at stake. If that sounds interesting to you then just go in without reading into it any further.
As for Psycho Pass it's about the future where an authority system is set in place that is able to determine how threatening people are to society based on their own thoughts and prosecute them accordingly. Main character is a new police recruit and she works with a handful of these people known as "latent criminals" who are basically used as hunting dogs to help track other criminals. It's longer. There's 3 seasons each being a varying amount of episodes and a movie to be watched after the first season. There's also a few specials I believe that I have yet to see myself but this is hands down my favorite anime.
Another honorable mention is Erased. This is another short one (12 episodes) , but I really enjoyed watching it even though the ending was rushed. I'll just say it's a murder mystery but you can look more into it if you wish.

I would think the average is somewhere between late teens to late twenties. Personally almost every person I've met on this game was older than me. I'm 18 now but I started playing over 2 years ago. None of my peers that I knew of were into Dbd either so yeah.
-
Whispers. Bet you never would've guessed.
-
Here's a couple of message exchanges I had with some cool people. In addition I also have a funny Ghostface story.
I had been playing Ghostface this one match and somewhere down the line it turned into a farming match where I "helped" the survivors do gens and then we played a game. I stood up on a hill and the survivors stood below me and they would copy what I did. So I would Tbag, Tbag, 360 spin and they would do the same. Then at the end we lined up and took turns opening the a exit gate a little at a time and they had slug race. It was hilarious and I'll never forget how fun that match was.

3. Billy
Favorite to play as:
1. Nurse
2. Trapper
3. Ghostface

Agreed. She'll always be my main but I really wish the devs would quit neglecting her, fix her bugs, and buff some of her more worthless add-ons.
-
Yes please. This is what I've been saying. If we could get Billy's old animations back it would make me so much happier. The new ones just look terrible especially the wobbly camera after you finish a chainsaw.

Also what platform are you on? Id love to play with you.
Ps4 and Xb1 but all my progress is on Ps4 so I don't really touch my xbox. Also I'm going to be offline for a while since my tv burnt out the other day so I need to buy a new one soon. But my name for ps4 is the same as on here. For xbox it's the same but without the underscore.

Answer:
Usually I won't tunnel them but I will slug them if I know they just got off hook. If they try to shove their ds in my face though then I'm more likely to tunnel them.

I have to disagree. I remember when I started to play Nurse it took weeks before I was even able to have my blinks down and even then I still sucked at the time because I still had to get used to survivor patterns and jukes, map layouts, and being able to tighten my reaction times and build muscle memory.
I don't even own Blight BUT the other day I spent the night at my cousin's place and he does own Blight. Now I'm not saying I was instantly a god the minute I picked him up. In fact it took me a few games but eventually I kinda got him down to a point where I was getting some nice hits with him. With a little more time I'm sure I'd be able to improve to a point where I'd be able to confidently use him against good teams. The process definitely did not remind me of how hard it was learning Nurse though(whom which I learned pre nerf btw).
Picking up Nurse today? It would be extremely difficult. If you aren't using your blinks right you will be heavily punished. You'll never catch anyone unless they are a complete baked potato.
As for other killers such as Huntress; she requires you to be able to aim with precision all while also leading your shots depending on distance. If you ever watch Umbra you'll know thay those crazy cross map shots and even the mid-long range ones don't come from luck but instead come from strained hard skill.
If someone wanted to actually put their time into becoming a pro Blight they would need quick reaction times and a decent understanding of map and tile layouts. Nurse already requires this and more. You need to use your power to catch survivors, you need to build your muscle memory, and as I said before you need to be able to anticipate survivor movement and jukes through breaking los and things like that. For Nurse every survivor has a playstyle that you need to quickly adapt to in order to catch them whether that be constantly breaking los and doubling back to throw you off or just holding forward. Or they can mix it up to really get in your head. When you get into the nitty gritty you really see how hard it is to actually be able to play her.
Blight isn't an easy killer but he's definitely not the hardest imo.

Yikes! Five gen slaughter. Although no one got much blood it was total domination! Ouch! Cause they were so bunched up they became slug food.
Two questions: why is the game so bright for ya? and what was that strange noise is that Whispers doing its thing? Prolly need a headset I wouldn't have heard that through the speakers from the couch!
Looks like PS4. I haven't faced an Xbox nurse in months. The rollercoaster frames we get make her harder to handle...
I'm not really sure about the brightness. I think that's just how it is for Autohaven maps no? Either way it's one of the reasons they're my favorite maps. Also ye that's whispers.
I have played Nurse on Xbox since I have both consoles but Ps4 is where all my progress is. In my experience they're virtually the same though as far as frames. But yea you only run into a console Nurse pretty much every two blue moons. With the bugs, the frames, the nerfs, and the difficulty it's not hard to see why though.

Don't underestimate the way of the console Nurse.

If they try to body block me with bt I usually just wait it out and then slug them. If they have unbreakable they can just waste it.
