I don't really see why not. This is already a feature in DbD mobile after all.
-
No matter how much bs this game puts us through we'll probably still keep playing.
-
A crutch perk is a perk that carries you to a win you wouldn't have gotten otherwise. Yes I understand that is the whole point of perks. To give you an advantage at winning BUT some perks do way too good a job at doing that. I get why survivors would want to run these perks because I mean why wouldn't you? You would only be gimping yourself by not running them.
However it's very unfun to feel like you got outperked. You're playing Nurse on a map like Lerys and a survivor is constantly breaking LOS so you make a great prediction blink and land right on them put nope dead hard. That great read you made didn't mean anything. I get that you can bait it out but that's not possible in every scenario and that goes for every killer.
You're playing against a good swf that is focused on gens and you know that you won't be able to 3 hook everyone without using any "scummy" tactics. Well tough luck they have unbreakable to counter slugging, Ds and bt counter tunneling (and then some), and dead hard to fix any mistake they make or negate any good play on the killers part in chase.
That's why these perks are disliked so strongly. They carry bad players and they make teams of good players harder to play against more than they need to be. Most of the killer meta perks reward you for making good plays, have strong effects that only last a small portion of the match, or have small effects that last throughout the match. You also have to take into account that it's 4 killer perks agaisnt 16 survivor perks so naturally killer perks should be stronger. That being said you're still entitled to run whatever you want.
-
Probably Wraith. He's the best starting killer for noobies. At core he's just an M1 killer so learning him will basically teach you how to play the others. His stealth aspect helps you get in close and then from there it comes down to your chase skills. Learn how to run loops, use mindgames, moonwalk, and overall just be unpredictable. With enough experience this will all just eventually become second nature.
Now that I think about it you could also just continue to main Ghostface. He's also an M1 killer at core but with a stalk ability and a better stealth ability. Only difference is that he's slower so it's up to you. He's actually one of my secondary mains tied with Trapper. I run Nurse's, Whsipers, Enduring, and Spirit Fury with double recharge on mine and it works just fine for me but I think you'd probably want to use some slowdown. Just experiment and find whatever works for you.
-
Plague. Don't like playing as or agaisnt her and I just think her concept as a whole is dumb.
-
Yeah it does and it's pretty good.
-
Ps4 Nurse main at your service. Now I may not be as good as SupaAlf, but I've got my share of experience. I'm gonna tell you it's hard man. I hope you have the time and commitment because ever since her rework it's only gotten harder for newcomers to pick up Nurse. That being said I'll give whatever advice I can.
First of all you'll want to learn the blink distances as best as you can. As your playing her try to take note of how far your blinks go depending on how long you charge them. By default your max blink distance for the first blink is 20 meters and max distance for the second blink is 12 meters. To get the most distance out of your blinks I suggest looking up slightly when you blink or flick your camera up as you blink which is what I do. You'll also want to take note of how long your chain blink window is. After you blink you only have a short time to decide whether you should blink again or go for the lunge. After you blink a white aura outlines the edges of your screen. After it dissipates completely you will enter fatigue. Like I said it's not very long so you'll need to train yourself to be able to process alot of information fast. You can shorten a fully charged blink by looking slightly or completely down depending on how much distance you want to cut. Be wary doing this while there is a floor below you though because it will take you downstairs. If you find yourself not going through something that you think you should it's either because you didn't charge your blink enough or it's a deadzone that needs to be fixed. Practice blinking perfectly on the other side of things. By this I mean being able to blink though something by charging your blink as little as possible. Practice on cars, piles of debris, and boulders.
Once you have your blinks and distances down you'll want to learn the patterns of survivors. Learn how to predict survivor movement and read what kind of tactics they'll employ to counter you. One of the most common of these tactics is doubling back or running at you while you're blinking to get you to overblink. To counter this just blink slightly behind them so if they do double back they'll run right into you and of they don't you just use your second blink to close the small gap. Another tactic better survivors will use is to break line of sight by running behind walls or othet such things and wait for you to try to make a prediction blink. Don't fall for this and instead of trying to blink to cut them off blink to the location where they broke LOS if they waited at the corner for you to try to cut them off then smack them with your saw. If they kept running then use your second blink to close the gap. If you notice that the survivor isn't very good then it may just be better to go for a prediction blink but be wary that some survivors may try to get creative and mix it up. It's all about making reads and calling bluffs. Dead hard will be one of your worst enemies playing Nurse. This is because it can force you into fatigue in some cases unless the survivor is out in the open. If they are you can blink right on them to bait out the dead hard then use the second blink to down them but if they're using LOS breaking techniques to force out your first blink to gain LOS back then you won't be able to down them since they'll just be able to use their dead hard to evade the second blink forcing you to take fatigue.
For add-ons her best are the cooldown ones. You can learn her without any add-ons but using these while learning her shouldn't hurt. You can also use the perk Shadowborn which makes it much more forgiving to play Nurse. It gives you additional FOV to help you see better during blinks and fatigue and overall just feels nice. I do reccomened that you try not to get used to using this perk however because there's better things for you to be running imo. I used it while I was a Nurse noob myself and it helped me out until I was able to ween myself off of it with Monitor and Abuse and then finally without needing any FOV perks. If you must though and feel like you genuinely can't play without shadowborn though then just use it but try not to rely on it.
Anyways that's my advice. I play on 70 sensitivity myself in case you're curious. If you have anymore questions please don't hesitate to ask. This game could use the extra Nurse players. And remember you ARE going to lose your first several matches possibly without even getting any hooks or downs but don't let it discourage you. Just keep practicing. Cannot stress that enough.
Happy killing :)

Ahem well my name's Alex, I'm 18, and I'm from U.S. California. I love music and I'm a big fan of rock, metal, and a bunch of the little sub genres in between with my favorite of those being post-hardcore, metalcore, and death metal. If I had to pick a favorite band it would be Pierce the Veil.
I enjoy watching anime and a few of my favorites are Classroom of the Elite, Death Parade, and Psycho-Pass.
As for Dbd I've been playing for 2 years and I main Nurse on Ps4. For survivor I guess you could say I main Claudette. I'm not all that great but if anyone's down to play sometime then lmk.
Other game favorites of mine are the Resident Evil Franchise (3&4 being my favorites), Overwatch (Roadhog and McCree being my mains), and Dying Light.
Uhhh that's pretty much it I guess.
Oh and I put the milk in before the cereal because it's better that way. Change my mind.
-
He's just built different.
-
Alot. Survivors are very thankful when you give them hatch. I've gotten tons of thank yous from giving hatch (even more than salt as a matter of fact) so I'll continue to do it. Also have made quite a few cool friends by giving hatch as well so yeah.
-
On the contrary the game heavily punishes killers for tunneling good survivors. Hell it even punishes killers who don't tunnel at all.
Either way though if that person really only got 545 points throughout that whole game then that sounds like a them problem. Survivors don't just spawn on the hooks so to me it sounds like they were just really bad at looping so they probably need to work on that.
-
Yeah. As someone who mains Nurse on console I think pc survivors are considerably harder to play against than console survivors. Pc players are very used to playing against Nurse because pc is pretty much the only place you'd find Nurse players. Console survivors, however, would only play against her once in a blue moon and the majority of those times the killer would have no idea what they're doing so when they'd play against me they'd just have to wing it because they weren't used to playing against a competent Nurse. That in tandem with the massive frame drops I get and with the smoother movement and flow of gameplay pc survivors have can make it very hard to play against them.
I imagine it's a similar case with the Huntress but to a lesser extent but I don't play Huntress so I can't really say for sure on that.
-
DS is definitely not needed. Before it was even reworked survivors did just fine without it so I'm not sure where anyone got the idea that it's required to be used. It reminds of old ruin alot actually. Players have deluded themselves into thinking they need these perks to win when they don't so almost everyone in the playerbase runs them. Of course ruin got reworked though.

Clown's map is terrible.
And plenty of good maps since then.
What do you not like about Clown's map?

I really like Dead Dawg Saloon. It's really fun, the main structure is one of my favorites in the game.
Midwich is an unbalanced mess but I really like the breakable wall placement.
@Kagato said:
Dead Dawg Saloon and Midwich are awesome.
Admittedly Dead Dawg itself is pretty well balanced so I could see why people would like it but it's just not for me. I like having the standard T and L and jungle gym loops. Maybe I'd like it more if it had a couple of those in there somewhere.
Midwich though I just can't. Like I said the aesthetic looks cool but navigating the map isn't all that fun imo.

@Zeus said:
It seems you like traditional maps more. I would attribute it to how well you understand the map layout and the places where totem/generators spawn.
Maybe if you give more time to the newer maps you'll understand it's layout better.
That probably does play a big part yes but when it comes to maps like Hawkins and Midwich I'm pretty sure I'll never get used to them enough to enjoy them. Like I said though I'd be cool with Ormond if it had less safe pallets and Temple if it was smaller.
-
It's because they assume that it means survivors just want the killer to be straight up nerfed with no compensation. They likely feel this way after seeing Billy and Nurse being nerfed this way. Anways I would hope this isn't what survivors actually want though. Take Deathslinger for example. He has terrible map pressure. Sure he's great at 1v1 chases, but he really lacks map pressure. Personally I'm all for giving him more counterplay as long as survivors are cool with compensating him in some other way. Idk what Bhvr would do exactly but he needs better map pressure.

Really? It never worked for me.
Yea I lunged in the opposite direction of the hill and I was able to get out.
-
Can't you get out as killer by lunging? It worked for me yesterday when I got stuck as Ghostface.
-
I'm not really a fan of Stranger Things and I only play Demo once in a blue moon. It's not that he's a bad killer but I'd just rather be playing the others. I think it just comes down to preference.
-
I pretty much only dodge if I have to go or if there's a bunch of default skins because I don't enjoy slaughtering babies. Anything else goes.
-
Pretty much the only thing I play as much as I do Dbd is Overwatch. I main Roadhog so I can always be hooking people no matter which one I'm playing :D
-
Nurse without a doubt.
-
Tru3, Ayrun, and Zubat

It's been a pleasure being able to interact with you all and hear your opinions and such. I appreciate all the tips, advice, and build suggestions I've received from everyone on here throughout my stay on this forum. It's also been a pleasure to see how the game has grown these past years. Here's to many more discussions, sacrifices, and jogs back to the campfire. See you all in the fog :)
-
It's the best tracking perk in the game if you use it right. I almost always run it.

Perks:
Lazy Genius

A few things actually. I love the nature of team based pvp games, but I always seem to be cursed with bad teammates when playing them. So with Dbd being asymmetrical I can play against teams while not having to rely on teammates of my own hence why I'm a killer main. I like the feeling of outplaying multiple opponents on my own.
I've also met quite a few cool people throughout my time playing. Just as easy as it is for people to initiate toxic conversations with you over dumb ######### it's also just as easy to start a chill convo about the game where you realize you just found a cool person to friend. Ah the duality of Dbd.
Also the multiple horror icons in the game. How could any fan of the horror genre overlook Dbd even if it isn't the best in terms of balance? Myers, Leatherface, Ghostface, Saw, Freddy, Demogorgon, Pyramid Head, and a whole bunch of other original killers. Say what you will about the game but it's one of a kind.
-
Actually you get my appreciation :)
It's totally up to you though. If you don't feel like being a hero and just want to take your escape then by all means just go.

" I'm not a fan of all these more recent maps."
Why would you not be? You like staring at cornfields? Are you from Indiana by chance?
Actually the 3 original realms are all my favorites. These more recent maps have all been pretty bad imo. Midwich, Sanctum, Dead Dawg, Hawkins. Been a long time since we got a nice map actually.
-
Fine by me. I'm not a fan of all these more recent maps.
-
Ah yes. How could I forget Spongebob? 😅

I love Nurse. She'll always be my main, but I'm tired of her bugs being neglected. I also still don't know whose idea it was to add a cooldown on top of a cooldown. All this did was make her harder to play while lowering her lethality potential. A straight up flat out nerf. No it wasn't just a nerf to people who relied on omega blink or multi blink, but it was also a nerf to those who were good with her regardless including god Nurses. That's what killed all the interest of playing her in alot of people I believe. In my opinion if you're going to make a killer harder to play then you should raise their skill ceiling in exchange, not nerf that too.
She's still a strong killer don't get me wrong. If you put the time in you will eventually do well with her, but it's just harder to do now than it used to be and you won't be able to have as much potential as you used to.
Currently I'm getting used to playing against pc survivors as my console Nurse. I've had to increase my sensitivity and pay alot more attention to what the survivors do because pc survivors have alot more experience playing against Nurse. It's been a bit difficult but I'll adapt. I still won't hop off the Nurse train.

Smacking ramdom ######### while waiting for the last survivor to finish being sacrificed.

Sure but it depends. Some days I just wanna play some chill games and relax. Other days I'm totally down to play against some swfs and sweat my ass off. Beating swfs feels way more satisfying and rewarding than beating solos especially if they're all stacked with second chance perks and I still manage to beat them. Feelsgood.

To me a 4k is always a win. Pip or no pip.
A 3k is only a win if it's a pip otherwise it's a draw. I never consider a 3k a loss though.
A 2k is always a draw unless it's a depip in which case it's a loss.
A 1k is always a loss.
0k is always a loss.
These are just my personal parameters but yea.
-
I wouldn't mind a Future Diary chapter. As for the survivor I'd want someone other than Yuki cause I just didn't like his character in the anime. Terrible mc imo. Maybe Minene Uryuu would be cool.
-
Unbreakable. That way I essentially get an extra life. I can literally get hit by a train and just get back up and walk home like nothing happened.
-
Resident Evil 4. My first video game that I played when I was 4. Man I played that game to death and to this day I still play it every now and again.
-
Any Autohaven, Macmillan, Coldwind, or Crotus Prenn Asylum map. They're all my favorites.
-
For killer it's whispers. It's very useful for early and late game and let's you know where you should and shouldn't be throughout the match. When I'm not running it I have kinda like a lost feeling without it.
For survivor it's We'll make it. This perk is so damn good I don't know why I don't see people run it more often. You go for a rescue, get a super quick heal in, and it's back to work. I'm sorry what sloppy butcher? Not to mention it lasts a whole 90 seconds too so you can often get more heals out of it.
-
These days I mainly run Ruin, Infectious Fright, Whispers, and Tinkerer since it got buffed. I got the tinkerer suggestion from @coppersly and it works great on her. It can get you free hits and grabs and when used with ruin you can chase people off gens and get it to activate over and over. Whispers because it helps with early and late game and Infectious cause it helps you build massive pressure easily.
-
"Matchmaking is rigged. I can't rank up because I keep getting matched against Stridor spirits and 4 man death squads every game."
Ah I can see it now.
-
I wish they would've left his engravings add-ons alone and I hope they'll fix the wobbly camera during the post chainsaw cooldown animation.
-
Are you sure he's using stretched res? Looks normal to me.
