I know killers have their version. :) I meant in my post that "hopefully it won't be like killer's Windows of Opportunity." If the Devs were to make something like OP wants or changes Whispers. Hopefully it wont be like WoO for killer where it is never used(I haven't seen it)To me it is just a waste of a perk.
Meh, it can be handy so you dont get surprised by a dead zone. Imagine running to a loop with Bubba on your ass, chainsaw rdy to go and...the pallet has already been thrown.
-
With the amount people cleanse nowdays, I'm finding I can have my corrupt purge running for about 75% of the match, lol. Typically I just go around and am content with M1ing sick people, but if you wanna put fountains EVERYWHERE for me...might as well grab em as I walk by.

I wouldn't ever use enduring or a stun build on the plague because it knocks her out of vile purge.
It knocks her out of corrupt purge. Vile purge is the green puke, which she has at base.

I see what you are saying but they are closely the same.
Gives you an idea where survivors/killer are at in a certain meter range and you don't know from what direction though
However, as survivor you get bonuses as the killer looks at your general location. Whispers does not give extra bonuses.
The new perk would be weaker to some extent because the bonuses aren't that good for most killers to use(example bonuses you given). But it can be a strong perk too. Whereas survivor you have only one thing to activate your perk, killer has up to 4 survivors to activate your perk so it would constantly be on. Of it were to be added, hopefully it won't be killer's Windows of Opportunity.
Killers already have their own version of Windows of Opportunity, lol.

Tbf, I think Springwood 1, 4 and (iirc) 5 aren't that far off from Haddonfield-esque levels of imbalance.
Not really. Most of the pallet loops on Springwood are very playable while theres not aton of LOS blockers to get in the way of killer powers like Deathslinger's harpoongun, Plague's puke or Huntress's hatchets. A large part of what makes Haddonfield miserable is just how much is has going against various killers.
-
This loop isnt NEARLY as bad as it use to be. I use to groan anytime I saw this or ironworks but now... I'm pretty confident with just about any map I get (besides haddonfield...fck haddonfield, lol).
-
Facing camping guts a killer's chaser emblem. Besides the fact that theyre naturally not gonna get as many points in the emblems to begin with...since theyre not being active, the chaser emblem specifically is lowered for being too close to the hook (as long as your teammates arnt also in the area).

If BBQ is eating up your stacks, you're using Distortion wrong.
Distortion is for finding out what aura perks the killer is running and then countering them manually; it shouldn't just counter aura reading passively all match. I remember a particular match where I discovered the killer was running Bitter Murmur, and I held on to the last stack to make sure my aura didn't get revealed when the last gen popped. If you're just letting the aura perks eat up your stacks, then that's on you.
Survivors have basically made it necessary for me to always equip Whispers. Without it, I'll end up with two survivors who refuse to do gens and Urban Evade around the map not letting the match end. Whispers means I'm not completely helpless against that. If they could just equip Distortion and hold me hostage without end? Screw that, I'm not playing killer if that becomes a thing.
Had the exact situation the other night... Abunch of UE instead of anyone so much as TOUCHING a gen against my Bubba on swamp without whispers... Was boring as all hell and just made me wanna get the match over with ASAP.

Mister Holdout's unique survivor perk: Lady Killer
Perk description: Your irresistible charm overpowers all female killers. During the trial, if the killer is female, you gain the ability to romance the killer. Only one romance per trial.
Additional Info: Lady Killer is a perk for male survivors only. If more than one male survivor has the perk, then the first survivor to romance the killer gets her all to himself.
If I'm going to be stuck in a trial, then I'm going to have some fun while I'm there. The other survivors can escape while I keep Julie busy.
You go in expected Julie, only to find out its Hag instead...

Yes using your chainsaw to down a survivor consumes a token
I think wraith is a good killer to gain tokens fast, bc he can cloak/uncloak to start/end chases with the obsession quick. walking around cloaked with 3 stacks is about the same speed as the green windstorm addon (green windstorm = 0.16 and 3 stacks = 0.15).
Only real downside there is hes still using up 2 stacks to down someone, and you have a cooldown on how fast you can gain PWYF tokens. If that cooldown wasnt there, it would be AMAZING on him, but since it does... his advantage of being able to lose chase quickly is kinda ruined.
-
Yes, Bubba's chainsaw consumes tokens. Its actually a VERY good perk on him though since your typically using 1 token per down as opposed to other killers which have to hit a survivor twice. Just make sure to not waste tokens by using the saw to break pallets. Everytime you use the saw, whether you hit a survivor or not, you'll use up a token. The perk is good on any one hit killers for the same reason, and also works great on Plague since her green puke doesnt use up tokens (red puke does though).
Heres a good video demonstrating it on Bubba

I believe it's 32 metres, the same as his default terror radius. Unlike the terror radius, though, as discussed above, the distance can't be altered with perks or add-ons.
I can confirm that it is infact 32 meters. Did abit of testing with it when his rework first hit to find out the ins and outs of it.

I believe the only place a date has been mentioned is in unofficial leaks, although if anyone has an official source I'm open to correction on that.
Found the source I had picked up. Doesnt say its a PTB (my bad) but rather that its a reveal of the new killer. https://www.gamespew.com/2020/05/dead-by-daylight-celebrating-four-year-anniversary-on-may-26th-with-new-licensed-killer-reveal/

No official date has been confirmed yet. The last one was only around two weeks ago, so following the usual pattern, we'll probably see the next chapter released in around 4-5 weeks. That means that the next PTB could open as early as next week, but more likely 2-3 weeks from now.
Heard the PTB is apparently suppose to hit on the 26th. I remember reading that and thinking it would be a nice B day gift for me, lol.

While I usually like playing as Legion, the biggy is when survivors just split up. When your on a map like bloodlodge where the survivors can see you coming from a mile away as well as can see every move you make...so no real mindgaming, while theyre spread to the 4 corners of the map so you cant hit more than 1 person with FF... your basically neutered. That doesnt mean he cant do well in some instances, but that you definitely can feel it when survivors know how to completely take away the pro of your ability.

Typically I only do it if I know where the last guy is. If I see the last survivor/ see their aura/ hear them ect...I'll chase em. Apart from that, i'll look around the general area for afew seconds (which is a good habit to have anyway due to flashlights) and then hook the slug. If they get the save, game on... If they dont, i try to find hatch to close it first. If they get hatch before I do... Its whatever at this point. I might judge the guy abit if he LET his teammate die on hook, but I'm not gonna make a big deal about not getting a 4k.
-
I keep seeing similar stories popping up alot in a facebook group I'm in. Like 5 times a day I'll see different people posting some REALLY 1 sided matchmaking screenshots. This can get as extreme as a rank 20 killer vs 4 rank 1s. Hopefully it gets handled quickly because the people its affecting are either dropping the role and just playing survivor, or dropping the game entirely.
-
@PigMainClaudette said:
If they're stupid enough to do that, then you leave them to kiss the dirt. They WANT you to go after them, after all. They think that it's a free pass since it's an easy enough skill check to hit.
Either eat it and leave them alone, so they don't have the chance to use it again, OR slug them and waste their time, which also applies pressure.
Reminds me of a game I had as Billy where a freshly unhooked survivor bodyblocked my chainsaw because of BT. Well... surely you wouldnt mind taking ANOTHER chainsaw if your gonna jump in the way of the first, right? They DCed after the 3rd chainsaw landed right after their DS, lol.

Rank resets have been a little bit bugged. Killers have switched from Ruin to NoED to compensate for a lack of skill or faith in theirs. Deathslinger is fun, but kinda tricky to use with the harpoon. Matchmaking has more rainbows in it lately than a lot of pride parades.
Business as usual.
Most people like M&A on Deathslinger, since he has a longer harpoon range then he does TR outside of a chase. A 16m TR is pretty brutal, after all. I really like Devour Hope on him, but he's also the first character I've used it on. He's a very boom or bust character, since he's a 110 killer with no traditional map pressure, and aiming is pretty tricky unless you know what you're doing. Haven't seen him ever since after the first week of his release so I can't say about how to deal with him.
If anyone tells you that he's a worse Huntress, ignore them. They've got two completely different powers.
I remember hearing alot of "worse Huntress" comments when he hit PTB. I had about 1mil BPs saved when he was released, so I threw those into him and then...put the game down, lol. Just decided to play a game and got a team of 3 purples and a green. Between me bein rusty, using a random assortment of lvl 1 perks and playing a killer I have no experience with... was fairly close, lol. They got 4 gens done , but I started knocking em out b4 they could do more. They were pretty potato, but I wasnt doin much better, lol.

Just saying the truth. Be ready for it and just cleanse totems. If you hate NOED so much, use that one perk that helps you find the totems.
One? Theres more than one
-
Only killer I ever seriously used NOED on was Freddy before his rework. You didnt really have time to hit a survivor twice after waiting for them to fall asleep in endgame situations and people would just hook rush any hook once those gates were open since you couldnt punish it with old Freddy. I get why people would use it though since it IS a strong perk when it works and its a general perk. When you dont have alot of perks unlocked, Noed is a pretty good pick early on since even its rank 1 version is strong. Cant say that about alot of general perks.
-
The whole map should just be bushes. Take forever for a killer to find a survivor and take forever for a survivor to find a gen. At least the game would be long, and thats all we want...right? lol

You seem to have confused some perks: Thrilling Tremors blocks all generators not being currently repaired for a few seconds upon picking up a survivor, with a significant cooldown. It's main use in the build is likely to find out which generators they need to target with Pop Goes The Weasel.
Definitely did, lol. I read thrilling but pictured infectious fright.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1156763#Comment_1156763
Well yes, DCs suck, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the devs being survivor sided. I made the comment that I did under the impression that the complaint had to do with generator repair speed and the fact that he didn't get a 3 or 4k as much as it did the DC. Upon reflection, I probably got that assumption from the title, because the title only makes sense if that's his argument.
Reading over it again, the complaint seems to be that the DC guaranteed that someone would escape through the hatch, which makes no sense as evidence of developer bias but regardless, we don't even know whether that's the case or not. It may well be that if the killer had played better, he could have outplayed them still. And it also may well be that they would have got the hatch regardless. But again, neither has anything to do with the devs being survivor-sided, so I'm still a bit baffled as to what exactly his point is.
Oh, for sure the devs survivor sided because someone DCed logic is kinda...out there.

Im currently running pop, bbq, m&a, and thrilling tremors. Tt is just good with pop in general. Bbq for blood points because as someone else stated, the entity is a dick in bloodwebs lol.
Either way perks are useless if you can't hit with his power
Wouldnt the thrilling tremors only really work if you down someone without using your chain for the 2nd hit? If I remember right, the game acts like the chase is over when you shoot someone. At the point that your reeling them in, your TR would shrink to 16 meters before you down them.

@Fibijean said:
So the survivors got almost all of their objective completed and you got a 2K? Sounds like matchmaking is doing its job for once.
Under a different circumstance, I'd agree with this. From what OP said however, he managed to get QUITE the comeback and feels cheated out of further kills due to a DC into the hatch. Thats like having a rough football game, only to have a massive comeback in the last quarter. The score is tied, theres room for 1 last play and the ball is at the 5 yd line. Right before you can yell HIKE, someone on the other team snatches the ball, shoves a knife into it and tells you to be grateful for your tie cuz the game is now over.
Like I said though, If OP had to work his butt off against a team and kill 2, while the other 2 managed to escape out the gates... I'd agree with your sentiment. Thats not what happened though and its fair to feel cheated that someone "stabbed the ball" before you could do any better. Theres no counterplay to something like this that couldve been done. By that, I dont mean the rough match that OP described, but the DC into hatch.
-
Im of 2 minds on this one. Firstly, it sounds like OP just had a rough game. Badham is a pretty fun map with most of the pallets being playable. It happens. Secondly though, alot of ppl are saying OP is whining that he didnt get a 4k. In actuality, OP managed to get a nice comeback and feels cheated out of any legitamate attempt at doing any better since 1 person DCed, which gave the last person hatch.
And finally...so many ppl saying this is a 3k even though I only see 2 skulls. Y'all wanna see my collection of "3ks" that dont show 3 skulls?
Didnt even SEE any of these survivors, but apparently if someone DCes for whatever reason... I should take it as a kill. None of these guys stayed in the game for a whole minute btw.
-
This post makes slugging out to be a hindsight that the developers didnt intend for that needs to be fixed. In actually, the developers ENCOURAGE slugging. Theyve actually told players to slug to help counter various things as well as to build pressure. Theres also plenty of perks in the game (not just unbreakable) that center around slugging.
-
Well, who knew the only thing we needed for constant 4ks was microsoft paint? Think the devs will keep track of edited screenshots when they do their next chart for average kill count or nah? lol
Wouldve been funny if you posted the real image on that club.

Regarding sabotage time: Right now if they decide to keep sabotaging the hook after being hit, they will sabotage it, but they'll wind up trading themselves for the person you're carrying since you'll be able to hit them immediately after. We're keeping an eye on it just in case to make sure it doesn't get out of hand.
For Hangman's Trick, the number used in the PTB was much higher than anticipated. Due to the spacing of hooks, that 16m radius gave you essentially map-wide aura reading on all survivors, completely overshadowing perks like BBQ & Chili. The idea behind the perk is to help combat sabotage, not to give you information on every survivor. You'll still get information on the survivors before they can sabotage a hook, letting you react and change your plans sooner.
As for the last question, I'm not entirely sure what you mean. The Doctor received some add-on changes in this update, but he also received changes to his base kit as well (in addition to the massive base kit changes from the mid-chapter). Killer like The Plague and The Trapper also received base kit changes in this update. We don't focus on one or the other, we update both add-ons and base powers. Additionally, we do tend to make add-ons that change the way a killer is played these days rather than being straight upgrades over their default power.
Feel like as far as the addon comment goes, Myers is an excellent example of addons that offer change instead of just buffing an aspect. Typically when I tell someone about a Myers game, there's some pronoun before Myers to describe the addon. "I played afew games of Jumpscare Myers, before trying out an infinite T3 Myers." Think about how many killers have similar situations? "Pallet Freddy" "Body-blocker Hag"... No one is gonna describe a game as Deathslinger as "Reel-in-abit-faster Deathslinger" no matter how good the character is. Same can be said about most of the killer cast. Don't gotta make an addon OP to change up a power, so instead of "normal build Huntress" it beomes "instadown Huntress" as a change of play-style.
What if as an addon, Deathslinger ditched shooting a chain with his harpoon so survivors who are shot arnt pulled in, but rather slowed down abit until they go through an interaction to remove the chain. This would greatly shake up the game-play, and is only an example that I just thought up.

Cursed Legacy is one of my favorite chapters, but it's not one I can easily recommend to people who don't want to play Oni. And perk synergies are a thing with many killer perks (bloodwarden + NoED, Spirit Fury + Enduring, Infectious + Moniter), but I didn't take those into account with the list due to how many different killers there are, and how several killers won't benefit from most combos. (Nurse with PWYF + Nemesis for example)
Edit: That's also why 'debatable' is on the list, the majority of the perks is only good with combos. (lithe + dance + Lucky, Nemesis + Dead Man/PWYF, Blood Echo + Plague/Legion)
Im someone who likes alot of variety when I play, so the fact that the same build wont work for every killer is fine. I'll come up with different builds for each one I play. As far as judging a killer based off how well I can use their power... I know sometimes I'm just not that good. I've seen some great plays with peoplle who can REALLY make good use out of Pig's ambush attack for example and know exactly when its appropriate to do it at various loops, while I can NEVER make it work. In my hands, Pig is a D rank character with abit of built in slowdown, but I know she can do more when played by someone who can use her kit fully.
For that sense, I hate telling people "Don't play this killer, they suck". When I first started, I gravitated to the worst killer in the game at the time and mained OG Freddy. Tried playing stronger killers, but didnt do nearly as well with them as I did with Fredward and his 7 second sleep delay, lol. For that reason... kinda wish people could try em all and buy the ones they click with. We might get a little more variety that way since people will have a more informed decision on their purchases instead of sticking with the safe bet of what everyone else told them was good and get 8000 people maining Spirit.

@tactic said:
Pig might not be viewed as strong but she's a lot of fun!
Usually most DLCs have a reason for buying them, including fun/strong perks even if the killer isn't that good. Plague is weak but has corrupt intervention and infectious fright.
I would say Darkness Among Us isn't worth it, but I've seen lots of people thoroughly enjoy playing as The Legion despite his weaknesses
Personally, the only DLC I don't consider worth buying is Cursed Legacy; The Oni feels kinda clunky for me and all the perks aren't that strong...
Oni's Nemesis is NASTY on some killers. Pairing it up with PWYF on Bubba for example is an easy example of this.
-
Snares for sure. When a survivor ends up booking is to the ironworks window or something, its not nearly as miserable to continue the chase since they can only loop it at most 1 time.
-
Feel like some of that targeting COULD be from various obsession related perks. Like half the killer perks that are obsession related involved at least entering a chase with the obsession (dark devotion, remember me, PWYF).

But i only do well b/c i just kinda chill at yellow to green ranks where survivors dont loop, and constantly heal vs legion.
I've been kinda chillin on ranking up after last reset by getting some practice in on Huntress. I'm not afraid of taking Legion against a team of red ranks though.

They already have a fix for this, which is currently on PTB. Pretty sure we get THAT patch tomorrow so... "hook tech" will be dead soon.
