  • Feel like roman numerals are not your forte. Thats Civ 6. Either way though, thanks for the heads up although it feels like I'm selling my soul everytime I open the epic games store.

I believe @aGoodOldRub is correct, all Franklin's Demise does is remove an item's charges. Since items no longer disappear if they lose all their charges, that means at worst, Franklin's will render items unusable for the rest of the match, but won't actually remove the item from the game.

Would make FD even less of a counter to keys as it was before...

Shroud of Separation works well with Corrupt Intervention. It also scares the ######### out of them when you do it with any P3 killer. ;)

I remember using a Shroud of Separation a while back and the first survivor I downed twice DC'd. It was hilarious.

I dont like using it because Id rather survivors NOT spawn on 4 separate gens... Yellow moris still makes em sweat without actually affecting the game. PLUS I get to see the cool animation of my character brutalizing the last guy, and thats always fun.

  • @Katzengott said:

This game becomes more and more advantages over skill and i hate it. Whenever i see a secret killer offering in the lobby even nobody picked a key or more then 2 toolboxes i can tell it's an unexperimented killer. On the other side i see survivors (maybe even on comms) with synergysed second chance perks, which is easy mode aswell. BHVR at least really needs to change those shortcuts (keys and moris).

Sometimes I like to put on a yellow mori, just to make the survivors sweat abit at the offering screen, lol.

True that, perhaps the issue was never worth any of our attentions. 😝

Pretty much. Sometimes it is kinda fun to watch though, kinda like a car crash.

I say bring ‘em if you got ‘em...whatever floats your boat. Who am I or anyone else to tell you how to enjoy this game while you’re operating under the rules if the game and user agreement.

I’m the opposite, I have 1000s of Moris and use them very rarely, usually for a 60k daily ritual.

Mori’s making it more difficult for a killer to pipup, especially in higher ranks. In order to Mori everyone, you need (mathematically speaking, doesnt include things like reaching stage 2 on your 2nd hook, etc.) to down each survivor twice. To kill them legit, you only need to down them one more time.

For a semi-decent killer, thats versing anything but an elite 4M SWF, a Mori is never needed for a fair game and at least 2 kills.

For a semi-decent survivor, that’s versing any killer that is not exceptional...you can reach EGC without some or all of you going down twice.

Of course, I have to consider killer choice, map of the match, the in-match RNG, lots and lots of factors to determine the outcome. In the grand scheme of things, a Mori doesnt change much but makes the killers job a bit easier, with less of a chance to pipup. The same can be said for keys, makes survivors jon a bit easier, but also less of a chance to pipup.

So why are we discussing any of this ar all? Everything said is so inconsequential.

A post about tunneling/facecamping/slugging/moriing everyone I see is typically for some sort of temper tantrum. The one posting it tends to think they were mistreated in some way and instead of going about it like an adult...they feel the need to come on here and tell us about the temper tantrum. I typically just move on after I see it because its fairly common.

  • Reading all that just had me thinking..."How many moris do I have?"

    20200522061206_1.jpg

The answer is quite afew. Good thing I'm not the type of person to spam em (or use em at all really), lol.

  • Feel like this would just make finding overly immersed players a nightmare if they so much as find a tuft of grass.

  • Trapper should have 2 Traps at base

Bubba's slowdown while revving the saw should be reduced to about Billy's speed while revving

Deathslinger shouldnt have to do a bloodwipe animation AND reload the gun when he successfully gets a hit on a speared survivor. Just make the reload apart of the bloodwipe animation.

Clown should be able to reload per bottle. By this I mean instead of taking 5 seconds to reload no matter how many bottles you have, you should be able to 1 or 2 bottles if you want for 1.25 seconds each.

Yes, but that’s the point here. Devs want the killer to be easily recognised and they said they go for the big boy licenses only. By that logic the next killer is a Freddy, Jason etc. tier character but Candyman isn’t so he can’t be it.

By that logic though, we shouldnt have Amanda. While Saw might be a big franchise thats widely known about, plenty of people wouldnt know exactly who Amanda is.

  • @musstang62 said:

Take this all with a grain of salt, as I have always, and will always, think that the DBD cosmetics store is one of the most ridiculous micro-transaction situations I have personally seen in any video game. I am also a disgruntled 60/40 killer/survivor player that stopped playing months ago but still comes to the forums once in awhile because I've spent too much time on this game. Having a blast with RE Resistance right now. Anyways, with all that said:

The fact that you can find a handful of mobile games with otherwise predatory micro-transactions handing out more free stuff than a console/PC game... that is absolutely ridiculous imo. The fact that the DBD mobile gives you the ability to grind out auric cells when the console/PC versions do not - that makes my head want to explode. The mobile version should have literally 0 advantages to the console/PC version aside from being accessible away from a TV or monitor (let's not even get into the conversation about bots). DBD mobile, and every asymmetrical multiplayer competitor to this game giving free cosmetics, shows that there is truly no good reason for these to not be offered for free, or at a dramatically lower cost than what they're currently sold for. The entire game costs $20-$30. I have no problem paying for a DLC character but assuming a $12 full set cosmetic cost, how does a new cosmetic require as much work as 40-60% of the entire game did? Based on the pricing, that would not be an unrealistic assumption. Even if DBD was only a mobile game, that pricing would feel predatory

Im one who can let cosmetics go for whatever they wanna charge em for because...its purely cosmetic. They offer no advantage at all, and most of the time offer a DISadvantage. Before DBD I played alot of warframe and grinded premium currency through trading that I went ahead and blew on cosmetics. Swapping to DBD though and seeing that wasnt really an option... I didnt really lose any sleep over that. Most of my characters just stayed in default skins unless I managed to earn a new cosmetic through events. I also went ahead and bought afew cosmetic via iri shards.

All in all, if the devs want to have cosmetics that can only be bought with cash... its whatever. I'd be fuming about it if they were selling Iridescent weapons or something that offered increased stats, but they arnt.

  • @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1290927#Comment_1290927

Oh I agree, I have the same attitude in general, and the fact that the premium track doesn't contain XP boosters to encourage early purchasing is my favourite thing about the Rift.

At the same time, I think there are some improvements that could be made, if only for the sake of the feature's long-term success. I can manage the grind, because DBD is basically the only game I play and I have a lot of free time, but a lot of people can't, and that kind of thing can get demoralising after a while. If they don't feel like they can get anything worthwhile out of the feature, they'll lose interest in it. In my opinion, it's actually in BHVR's best financial interests to make the Rift a bit more casually accessible than it is, because people are more likely to get enthused about and want to spend money on something that they feel is within their reach.

Grind or no grind, I only see it as a positive. I played plenty of DBD before the rift came out, this is just extra stuff than what I was getting before.

  • @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1290784#Comment_1290784

Yes, but only if you finish the whole Rift, and if you spend those cells on Store cosmetics you'll have to buy more for the next Rift Pass. In other words, worst case scenario from the developer perspective is they don't make any money - you spend $10 worth of AC, you get $10 worth of AC back. That's very different from giving away money for free.

Honestly, I'm completely ok with that. I'm not the type of person to buy abunch of stuff from the store using auric cells, instead opting to use event cosmetics or cosmetics purchasable with shards. The fact that you can upgrade to the paid rift at any point really makes it feel like your not GAMBLING anything since you can just wait to see how far along you get before making that transaction. For the first rift, I waited until I already hit lvl 70 before buying the paid version and immediately getting my money back.

    20200107074956_1.jpg

For me, I just see the rift as something thats giving me free cosmetics every now and then on a game that I was planning on playing anyway. I still have the auric cells from the first rift that was refunded to me which I intend on dropping into this rift if I can manage to finish it. I had taken a break from the game for afew months, which is why I didnt get very far at all in the last rift.

  • I wanna know which killer is "fun" because I keep having people telling me various killers are "boring", lol.

  • @Fibijean said:

I talked to a dev about this the other day, they were almost certain that it doesn't do anything. I think it would be cool if at some point DBD did introduce a kind of honour system, though, where people who got a lot of props could get rewarded. It would help to encourage positive behaviour, I imagine.

I would DEFINITELY appreciate that. Being a killer main, I get all sorts of nasty messages during the endgame chat, so abit more positivity would be nice. I feel like it would have to work off tracking UNIQUE reports though so your SWFs teammates dont just give eachother thumbs up EVERY match.

Then he picked the wrong time to do it, cause thats how it looked 🤷‍♂️

Lot of times like while farming, its meant as a sort of verification. In situations like you described for example, its not uncommon for the survivor who ISNT on my shoulders to give a little t bag BEFORE the pallet is dropped almost as if to double check that theres an understanding. I'll give a nod back, once again...not as a taunt, but to convey a meaning.

Im guessing thats what the David was doing. He was seeing if you were infact being peaceful and wanted to farm more. Checking on that understanding.

  • @Dead_by_Gadfly said:

Earlier today I was playing Fred. Someone dc'd 30 secs into the match. I played like normal till there were 2 survivors. I decided to let them farm a little so I carried dsvid to a pallet and ket feng stun me for the drop. David decided to tbag. That was dumb. He died, feng left.

T bagging isnt always ment as a form of taunting.

  • @KingFrost said:

Trying to do the dumb challenge, but I can't hit the broad side of a barn and its frustrating the heck out of me. And of course the survivors have to teabag on their way out after an easy match with 0 hooks. I cannot play Huntress. I just want to complete this stupid rift challenge.

Best thing you can do is hold that hatchet for abit. If a survivor is running toward a window, pull out the hatchet and hold it. They'll often try to dod left and right to get ya to miss. Just let em weave for awhile and slowly walk towards them. If they start the vault animation on the window, let the hatchet loose. If theyre just goin left and right for awhile... Keep your aim to the middle of their path rather than trying to follow them left and right and release the hatchet when they pass infront of you.

Biggest thing here is patience... You dont gotta rush the throw and get the hatchet out of your hands asap. If need be, hold it up in the air for a good 5 seconds.

  • The devs would be forced to balance around those values. Currently they've very aware of what happens when people stack addons and try to balance with what happens when you put the 2 strongest versions together. If you could just use 2 of the strongest version...theyd simply lower the value on it. If you want an example of this, look at old videos of "Machine gun" Huntress. Clearly the addons when used seperately werent an issue, but when combined and used with old Tinkerer...it got nutty. The devs reworked tinkerer and nerfed both addons so they wouldnt get a huge value when used together.

  • @VentingSylar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1287880#Comment_1287880

Yeah that's why I initially didn't suggest changing the 4 seconds, that said alot of people have given their feedback and think it should be 3 or 3.5 seconds which isn't a huge change mind you.

At that point its just a change for the sake of changing something. The perk isnt really ment to be used mid chase, but rather when your NOT being chased by the killer.

  • @VentingSylar said:

Tbh I've never been bothered that it takes 4 seconds to reset a pallet. Makes it feel real at least to me since it is lifting a heavy pallet. Plus would make worthy of a 300 point score event for survival

Nice to hear to some feedback though

Im pretty sure they made it take 4 seconds so people couldnt stun a killer, lift it up and stun em again before the killer could move.

  • @MrPenguin said:

Probably because he's the only killer who says "hey your teammates were bad, but you get exposed for it". Then he's stronger in chase against you because he gets extra lunge range and vaults windows faster in tier 3. You can be avoiding him for the whole match so far, but then, eventually, he finds you and you're on the receiving end of his tier 3 even though he never saw you until now.

Not saying everyone who says that is free of blame, a lot of player will blame everyone but themselves when it is in fact their fault. But it is also valid in a lot of matches. Insults should stay out of it of course.

Hard to know as a survivor whether he's even around you or not, let alone stalking you, given Myers pretty much non-existent TR and the fact that every Myers and their grandma runs either dead rabbit, M&A, or both to make it even worse. Breathing can be covered up by other sounds in some cases as well.

tl;dr Myers power feels extremely bad to be on the receiving end of if you believe you've been denying him stalk off you most the match, whether its true or not.

Its even better when what your on the receiving end is a tomestone, lol.

Did you lose your "trusted"? It dosnet say your trusted next to your name or when you comment on posts

Because I was never part of the "trusted" program. I got my red pfp from being forum member of the month awhile back. Not sure if they did that for very long though, because I only know of 1 other person with it.

  • For your question regarding monitor and abuse, people typically use it for the fact that it lowers your TR when outside of a chase. This allows you to get close to survivors when they're busy working on gens and such before they release you're there. The increased TR while in a chase part is MOSTLY disregarded, although it does help out abit on TR based perks like infectious fright.

  • Its specifically written as a reportable offense. How much more proof of it not being fair can you get?

  • @katoptris said:

The unhooked person has 15 second of immunity according to the dbd Wikipedia for borrow time. "After unhooking a Survivor within the Killer's Terror Radius, for 15 seconds, any damage taken that would put the unhooked Survivor into the Dying State will instead apply the Deep Wound Status Effect".

Wait a couple of second to hit them or go after the rescuer. Usually when someone unhooked i just shock until madness 3 then hit. They will eventually go down due to the snap out of it effect.

I think the timer hes refering to is one placed on the rescuer. The idea that the rescuer has to wait X amount of seconds after the hook to gain BT's effect.

BBQ doesn't tell you who is where, it's just auras. There is no way for you to know one from another. Sorry, I'm not buying the "I just know" thing. Since you avoided the rest of what I said, then I suspect that you did know this third survivor.

Btw, you don't get to decide who replies to your posts, or how they reply. Besides, someone who does something they know is wrong, but comes here to find out if they can get banned for, has no moral high ground to call other people trolls.

Im guessin the survivor who got screwed over said something in endgame chat that had him questioning if its bannable or not.

  • Working together with the killer to screw over a fellow survivor is infact bannable. Its one thing to farm points mutually, but its another thing if its at someone else's expense.

  • Typically I'll avoid wasting my time I i think someone has BT on them or an active DS, but... If a person is forcing my hand by bodyblocking who I WANT to hit...I hope theyre prepared to take afew MORE hits.

The only problem with the Exhaustion part is that Exhaustion perks themselves are just gimmicks really, as you can play just as fine even WITHOUT Exhaustion, and you can't rely on the idea that a survivor has any Exhaustion perk at the beginning of the match without witnessing it first. But for it to be worth not healing when Mangled, it would have to be effecting them twofold.

i dont think any 1 part has to be crazy strong.

  • @ZarinaKindaThick said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1282531#Comment_1282531

That's all of what discussion and brainstorming is for. I do personally believe that would you had said originally in the post is a good idea on its own, being that multiple afflictions like Mangled, Hemorrhage, Blindness, Hindered, etc. It would be the ultimate "you're screwed" past just going down instantly.

Well alot of these effects persist after being rescued off the hook, so it would be useful even AFTER the initial chase.

  • @ZarinaKindaThick said:

So essentially Infectious Fright that applies to the Hatches? Sounds like it would be pretty good overall.

Im just spitballing ideas really. Trying to get away from the "well, if you 360 no scope a hatchet while upside down, itll be a 1 shot" type of ideas people keep insisting on sticking to. Some of the ideas others are saying also sound pretty sweet.

It needs to be a large area though, because you don't typically use your hatchet and throw them around willynilly.

If I had that addon on, I just might chuck a hatchet to quickly find someone urbaning around a gen thats been touched.

Imagine suffering from Madness from The Huntress.

It honestly would create some pretty interesting builds now that I think about it.

With the idea of madness, what if it did similar to the nurse addon for screaming? Any survivors around the point that your hatchet lands lets out a scream.

  • @CashelP14 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1282384#Comment_1282384

I was thinking more blood lodge but rotten fields seems a better example. At least Lerys have the edges and the doors have a good distance too. Oni's ultra rare is another that only works on certain maps (indoor maps).

I'm just imagining facing a huntress with multiple status effects hatchets. Personally I would just see it as another Exhaustion add-on tbh. Blindness, Mangled and Hemorrhaging wouldn't bother me since they don't affect my ability to loop.

Then again I don't play a lot of huntress so maybe it's stronger than I think. If your idea is added as another ultra rare then that's fine but for me iri head should still hold some sort of instadown quality. One that rewards the killer for having good aim.

Someone brought up an aura reading effect that actually seems pretty nasty. Imagine getting an aoe aura read for afew seconds everytime you nail a shot. As someone who was a big fan of the old class photo on Freddy b4 his rework...I can appreciate how valuable information is.

  • @CashelP14 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1282352#Comment_1282352

Yea on lerys it would be terrible. Unfortunately most killers with add-ons or not are at the mercy of map rng. She needs another ultra rare so she could have the status effect one and a range instadown.

Ghostface with his leaning add-ons are at the mercy of the map in particular. Same with Trapper's traps on maps like the Game.

I don't mind what they do tbh. I don't see that add-on too often either way.

Ghostface can lean off pretty much anything though. In the case of Lerys and a 20 meter requirement, youd have trouble finding a spot to be able to throw from 20 meters away that isnt blocked by an obstacle or a wall. The only map I could see that would be similar to this when describing ghostface's lean would be MAYBE rotten fields since theres not many objects on the map to lean off of and the corn gets in the way of stalking in general.

This was literally 5 hooks, and I didn't even 4k (because of a kobe into an unbreakable into key hatch escape).

I tried to keep it at 4 but someone bum-rushed the basement with BT. I was standing at the top of the staircase all game and got no penalty at all to my emblems. "The worst camping i've ever seen" according to one survivor.

So 5 hook 3k pipped me, and you are gonna tell me 4 hook 4k won't? What's the ~math~ on that?

Also false. You need to do all those things to climb in red ranks, reaching it is another story.

You can pip in purple ranks by camping the basement and getting 4 kills with 4 hooks.

No, you really cant. Your chaser emblem would be completely gone if you camped that much and youd only get at most a gold for devout. Your malicious would probably suffer, but for the sake of making a point...even if you get iri malicious and gatekeeper at that point, you still wouldnt pip. This would grant you 11 points total which isnt enough to rank you up in purple ranks.
