GIMME CROSSPLAY!!!

Id say SB is probably the better option. You can handle working on gens that are in dead zones without getting caught out and dont have to be injured to be able to use it. DH users kinda get screwed if the killer has an instadown like Billy.
-
Thanks, lol. After a while I stopped really doing anything for it so today's devstream is pretty much it.

Yes, you are most definitely a camper...If you so much as select KILLER on the main menu, your a camper. How could you stay on the same map as a survivor... JK of course, lol
Really, do what ya want. Ppl will say what they want after the game is over no matter HOW you play, theres really no helping it.

I think so too, but I also think that if MM feels good and matches are fair more often than not we're going to see more balancing towards the competitive spectrum.
Less effective perks and killers will be brought up in effectiveness and More effective perks and killers might see some more "softening".
I'm kind of betting on the new MM system being good, if it is, it really might be the start of many more improvements that are highlighted by that system's implementation.
But all we can do is wait and see lol
Heres to hopin the new MM system actually works rather than the system thinking 90% of the player population should be all at the highest tier of matchmaking, lol.

Yeah, hitting through windows and over fences. I just meant the "I'm already past it why is his chainsaw still hitting me" isn't just a bubba thing and likely seems that way due to the hit detection.
Yeah, if you are a good distance away from the window and still get hit... its likely abit of lag. OP's original statement though just made it sound like they got hit mid-vault though and either way, Bubba's saw IS one of the weapons in the game that can get extended range.
-
Ideally rank would BE the matchmaker in that if you win, you rank up and get placed against players of your rank. Atm it doesnt really mean anything to me. It goes up and down afew pips, but I tend to stay at 1 or 2. Under the current system, pipping just serves as a minor annoyance whenever I do "too good" and black pip for it.
-
Everything on console has to pass certification. Sony for example has to pass whatever theyre presented before bringing it to you. This is typically something that takes at least a few days and who's purpose is to make sure that what's released is functioning. PTBs arnt exactly that, lol.

I think it came from one of the devs streams where one of the devs said that they liked the idea of Wraith and Nurse being a thing but it could have possibly been just a hype up the Valentine skin they were getting rather than an actual lore hint as this was the stream before they got released.
As for the Legion hanging out with each other this has been outright confirmed on multiple different streams including their creation one
Maybe the tapes are inside the golden toolbox along with a walkman, lol

I think they will not show us what we expected. I mean, they could make fake proofs of the next chapter. I think they will suprise us.

The camp, in general, is fair game. As in, a map called Camp Crystal Lake. The first version with Higgins Haven is probably a no go. The later ones may or may not be possible. If the theory is correct, then the remake camp would be open. In any case, we wouldn't get the same map fidelity as f13 the game had.
Thats completely fine honestly. Its not like the movie versions of Haddonfield or Springwood were exact replicas of what we have here. They'd obviously need to make the map work for DBD, so has to include things survivors could loop/vault and things that would make sense for a pallet to be between.
-
Considering the devs tendency of renaming all their characters with some sort of codename, I dont think theyd have a problem. Jason would just end up getting a similar name to Freddy's "The Nightmare". Would kinda suck if we cant get the iconic camp though.
-
That would be cool... Normally Id be doubtful, but with the anniversary... we could get the announcement of something big like crossplay.

if you are unable to down a survivors in 30 seconds the chase is lost. that means get good on the game or leave it. playing a game as killer and you have 1.2. or 3 games is a lost gaem for you. just a 4 k after 5 gens are made are a victory. simple and easy. the worst loop in ths game is the double l loop with 2 windows. they can hold you there nearly the hole game. so that needs to be fixed also.
Are you refering to TL walls? I recently jacked this from a facebook group...
If you have discord or something, I might be able to give you some tips on how to handle these things. It would just make things easier being able to talk rather than type on a forum. Typically speaking as far as time in a chase goes... you want to get a hit or a pallet within 15 seconds. Not every hit HAS to result in a down. Often times injuring an entire team is a much better move than downing a single person.

With the demogorgon, it's either fully charged or he can't shred at all.
As for it being 5 times as opposed to the usual 4? That's a mystery to me.
@Fibijean said:
Because if it's not fully charged, it's not using his power. You can't have a half-charged Shred any more than you can have a half-charged chainsaw, or a half-charged Demon Strike. The "fully charged" part probably only exists for clarification so that newer players understand how to activate Shred to begin with.
Actually you can. Depending on how long you hold the button will dictate how far he lunges forward. While there is a minimum amount you have to hold it for there to be a difference between a normal attack and a shred, you CAN hold it abit longer to get Demo to go further.

@Meiygo said:
the point is the problem in thsi game is the genrush. if the survivors plays well. one single guy can bring you under trouble the hole game. and if every survivors plays like that you are in a bad state.
thats the problem playing survivor is too easy for this game. so they need some nerfs and killer buffs in general.
What your describing is a mindset that alot of unexperienced killer players have. When people say "dont spend too long in one chase" it often gets misconstrued as as "down people faster". In truth, it just means swap get some value in where you can, whether that be a hit or a pallet broken and swap targets. You should NEVER be chasing someone from 1 pallet to the next while leaving the rest of the team to crank out gens. Doing so is creating large dead zones but not capitalizing on that.

that is whati mean. you do a gen and after 6-8 minuts it get destroyed automatically to 90% so the survivrs ge a noise and need to repair it again. to solve the genrush problem. in addition to thatyou could reduce the living time of the gen by 1 minute for ever gen who popped out in the next 30 seconds. to slow down the game.
Unfortunately something like that would make killers who are already strong in the current setup completely broken.
-
20 bucks on the base game, 58 on DLCs (bought abunch at first, although now I only use real cash on licensed ones and iri shards on the rest) and 10 bucks for auric cells for the first rift. Grand total of 88 bucks so far. Fully plan on buying anymore licensed DLC once they come out and using shards on any unlicensed DLC.

@Carpemortum said:
That's just laggy hit detection. That happens with regular attacks, hatchets, etc. Its not just Bubba that can do it and has nothing to do with his saw. It's just more punishing when a saw hits you so it seems worse.
Hitting through a window is an intended mechanic as well. You dont even have to be VAULTING the window. If you stand too close to a window, the killer can swing and hit you. Should also be noted that Bubba's saw DOES have an addon which can increase range a lil bit. I use to get a laugh everytime I'd use it and clip ppl vaulting windows thinking "THAT guy thinks he just got dedicated".
-
@IMhereRUN said:
I’m very confused with your gen lifetime thing, you have only 6-8 minutes to repair it fully once you’ve started it? I’m not sure what you meant here. If this is the case however, 6-8 minutes would not do much, that’s over half the time of an average game.
I think OP means after a gen is finished, it will go back to being unfinished and at 90% after awhile.
-
Theres afew issues with this... ASSUMING your right and the killers you listed off are ill equipped to handle survivors while the other killers ARE equiped to handle survivors, giving a net nerf to survivors or a net buff to all killers would only act to make the killers who are doing just fine completely OP. If you feel like specific killers are underperforming, the better option would be to touch up on those killers specifically.
Gen times have already been adjusted recently with survivors getting a further debuff than previously if stacked on gens as well as the change to toolboxes. I know it can feel tough, but rather than try to change the game to give yourself more kills...maybe ask yourself if there is ANYTHING you couldve done different. Often times when killers claim to have been playing without making a SINGLE mistake, its often times because they lack area awareness, spent too much time chasing a single survivor or don't know how to handle certain loops. Personally, when I first started playing...I played Doctor and would just hold W while chasing, vault every window the survivor would vault and aim to break EVERY pallet on the map. I didnt know that this WASNT playing perfectly.
-
@DBD78 said:
A drunk facecamping and lazy Bubba can be a bit OP to purple survivors because they try to trick him instead of doing gens, so they die. In red ranks he is weak.
Really just depends on the individual rather than the rank. Even red ranks can be prone to wasting entirely too much time trying to make an impossible save.
This is from a game I had back in January in which I took to facecamping the first survivor I caught (the blue one) very openly without trying to hide myself while revving my chainsaw. The guy even had kindred, so clearly his whole team saw the situation... and they still didnt do more than a single gen this game. The guy who DCed did so after getting downed next to the hook.

Well, there's your problem.
This is part of the reason I play Pig, Doctor and Legion. Less concerns about pips and they're pretty fun to play as.
I fully understand why I didnt pip under the current system. I'm just saying it makes no sense. To go back to my Overwatch comparison for example, a team that swiftly killed the opponent with headshots and kept them off of the objective shouldnt ever feel the need to get off the objective themselves to artificially make the match last longer for a chance to rank up. This is the equal of what is happening here though. I'm not ranked based off how well I performed in the match, but rather how well I can game the pip system.
-
Ppl will say alot of things... I had a match the other night as Bubba in which I got a 4k with only a single gen done on wreckers yard. No basement Bubba shenanigans or anything, Just went from chase to chase and demonstrated how cleanly Bubba's chainsaw can cut. One of the survivors made sure to tell me how boring I was and that I should use a killer that takes skill. One of that person's teammates then pipped up and told them to STFU, lol. All in all, I've determined that people will say this about any killer.
-
Whats the question?

Well the Hillbilly, Bubba and Plague emblems I can understand in these because a lot of times, they are more reliant on one-shots, meaning you get only half the Chaser.
And I don't get the Freddy one unless everyone was injured after their first hook. Which would be easy to believe with 5 gens remaining and 4k.
The Freddy one was just a really quick beatdown, lol. This was a 2 minute game as old Freddy in which everyone died on first hook, except for the first guy who got hooked...he died on his 2nd.

@PigMainClaudette said:

Then I am confused. Normally if you use heaps on instant-downs or if everyone stays injured, then you can be punished by getting less hits. Should have been fine if you had a decent Gatekeeper. 12 hooks is also Iri Devout from memory. It also depends on if you were close to hooks or not.
I honestly don't know how you got Entity Displeased.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1299945#Comment_1299945
I've never had a problem with the emblem system, but I also play Pig, Doctor and Legion. It works well for my playstyle and I seem to do well with it. I don't know how, but it just works for me.
These are all games where I've had 4ks with 5 gens remaining. That SHOULD represent an ideal result for a killer. Unfortunately not the case since this game also keeps track of how many times you hit someone rather than just downing and killing someone.
The last picture was only a silver in devout because someone DCed right before I could hook them. Even if that emblem was a gold or iri though...wouldnt have mattered.
Once again to use my shooter comparison, imagine if while playing Overwatch you headshot every member of the enemy team before they could ever hope to step foot on the objective...and the game sees that as being worse than if you keep doing trash dmg that gets healed up. If the game rewards you with no rank up because you crushed the opponents TOO well.

Yes, but u don't need power for that, it only breaks a little faster
I find its nice to pressure survivors away from running away from a loop early. While revving the saw, if someone starts running...I just chase after em and ignore the pallet. This means they cant safely leave until that saw makes contact with wood, which gives em alot less time than me doing the kicking animation. Giving them less time to get to the next pallet can make a big difference.

Worst killer in the game. He doesn’t stink, but neither is he good. His power is restricted.
Most killers powers do 1-3 different things, LF does not, insta-down...that’s it. While you can still win matches with him regardless of survivor skill, the map you are placed in as the biggest affect on the game outcome while playing LF.
His power also is used for breaking pallets/breakable walls. Not a huge biggy but it is a thing that can be useful.

Okaaay. Going to play a bit of Devil's Advocate here.
How many hits/downs/instant-downs did you get? Were the survivors injured for a long amount of time? How many of them died on their first/second hook?
These are all questions that we need answers for.
Realistically the way the game grade's player performance is abit silly. I've used this comparison before, but this would be similar to awarding more points in a shooter for killing a player by shooting them in the foot 5 times rather than shooting them in the head 1 time. If I can get a 4k without any gens being completed... that surely should be all the proof needed to show I belong in a higher rank that I'm currently sitting. The current system often times just grades you on how well you can game the system, not how well you can play the game.

off the top of my head I'd also add
- Red from the film Us (2019)
- Dracula and Jonathan or Mina Harker from the film Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992)
- Frankenstein's monster and Victor Frankenstein or Elizabeth Lavenza from the book Frankenstein: or, the Modern Prometheus (1818)
- Sirenhead by artist Trevor Henderson
- Momo by sculptor Keisuke Aiso
unsure if these would be considered 'well-known' exactly but personally i'd love:
- pretty much anything from the show Channel Zero (2016-2018)
- same deal with works by manga artist Junji Ito
And just like that, the creepy Momo face comes to mind again...Whyd ya have to go and do that?

Wait a minute I've played against them a few times. Surprised I'm not in video, I guess it's because I either won or got a draw (the draw was because of unbreakable).
They're decent survivors, but they're unnecessarily toxic, always using survivor sided map offerings, and using the typical meta perks. I wonder how they would do solo.
EDIT: Interesting how you never see the killer ranks in this video.
EDIT 2: Also due to poor optimization on the PS4, when you're playing killer you suffer a lot of from FPS drops (especially when you're playing on a Middle East server) which often results in miss swings. Being able to do 360's on console is a lot easier to perform at high ranks then it is on the PS4.
What do you mean doing 360s is easier on console than on PS4? PS4 IS a console.

what you have said is true and logical. But there are loops that can’t be mind gamed and any killer except Huntress or Spirit will fall victim to these loops which is frustrating.
Even if thats true, its still not the survivors being toxic. The only difference between playing high lvl play and playing rank 14s is that the survivors your facing arnt as good at running you. That doesnt make anyone "less toxic". Also, if your going to play a killer you have to come up with some kind of gameplan to handle strong loops for that specific character. That could be placing Freddy's snares to ruin the loop, Trapper's traps, HAG's traps, ect. I speak as someone who plays entirely way too much Bubba and Myers, 2 killers very susceptible to strong loops and 2 killers that I play very differently to handle them. I of course play alot of other killers too, those 2 are just the ones I like playing the most of lately.
-
Survivors using pallets for their intended purpose isnt being toxic. I also dont know how anyone is taunting you with their medkit. I know the clicky clicky from flashlights can get annoying, but thats the only thing remotely "toxic" that Ive read. If someone is doing something OUTSIDE what youve already stated, fair enough...but survivors are going to use pallets and windows to the best of their ability to run away from you. Thats completely normal gameplay.
-
That was just painful. He couldve gotten the down SO much sooner, but he didnt know when its a good time to pull out the saw.
-
I've been booted and shown THIS screen afew times... Fortunately it doesnt happen often enough for the DC timer to get high. I just always end up thinking in the back of my head "Great...those survivors are gonna think I ragequit, even though I DCed mid hooking animation while winning".
-
The only problem with this train of thought is Sprint burst can easily be restored as a survivor is being useful. The entire time a survivor is working on a gen, their exhaustion is going away. Sprint burst also helps survivors with taking care of gens in more dangerous areas since they dont have to rely on a pallet or junglegym that is in the immediate area. If the spot by a gen is in a dead zone... its ok, cuz they can sprint burst to a better location should the killer show up. Sprint burst users are also less likely to be tunneled because they can immediately bolt once unhooked if need be.

I think it was also to make killers more standard across the board.
Killers like hag move at 110% but have a 28m terror radius.
Killers like trapper move at 115% but have a 32m terror radius.
Michael in tier 2, the nurse, and the huntress are the only exceptions to this rule.
Pig used to be a 115%, 28m terror radius killer, so they increased the terror radius but reduced the time for the terror radius to shrink when crouching to make it the same. I'm pretty sure this was to make her in line with all other killers.
Hag, spirit and deathslinger have 24 meter TR, not 28
