Unlike some other ps4 players i have a pc but my problem is lack of gross progression i have so much on ps4 because of being on it for hours before i got my gaming pc now im slowly working my way back up again. Wish we could just make a dnd account with all our data and spread it out amongst steam consoles and definitely switch.
I can understand that. Thats how it is with my Warframe stuff on xbox.

Most boring thing to me was actually FIXED with a change, that being EGC. When you stomp a team to the point that the hatch didnt spawn for the last guy and they spend the next half hour stealthing around... between that and hatch standoffs. Glad EGC got rid of both of those.

Free information, with the best example being Status Effects.
I like finding stuff out, and free information removes the need to do that.
I can understand this, but I feel there should be SOME indicator for when your being under the effect of a status. If the killer is running mindbreaker for example, I wanna know ahead of time to expect that short exhaustion when its time to sprintburst away. Things like Myers music playing when he hits T3 is a nice way of showcasing the exposed status without NEEDING the symbol for example.

Truthfully, its the attitude of killer mains nowadays.
Having played since release I've seen killer get easier, survivor get harder. FULL STOP.
Infinites gone, vaulting/perk/map/pallet nerfs, bloodlust added, end game timer added, hatch close added. All this has made being killer easier and survivor harder since release.
2 escapes, 2 kills is the devs unit of metric. You don’t have to like that but it’s whats given the survivors all their nerks and all the killers current buffs.
You look at the SB vs. NOED debates that happend at release all those years ago. SB now is mediocre at best where as NOED is still a high tier perk.
Killers now are up around 70% kills due to the trajectory of the game and the devs metric system, unless you feel their metric system is bad, in which case they can undo all the changes I've just mentioned....
It's only been recently that killers have started getting push back from devs because the state of the game is disconnecting survivors who know a game is going to end in a 4k so why bother for 3k BP.
And what do we see? Thread after thread recently of killers whining. People talk about salty survivors alot in this forum but ignore the elephant in the room.
The stats provided shouldnt really be looked at for balance purposes. That 70% you mention should be taken with a grain of salt, expecially now with DC punishments in place. The amount of ppl who suicide on first hook because they got downed first is going to skew data since it's just setting games up for a 3 v 1. Personally, I feel like it would be nice if swing factors like keys and moris were also factored into these results since they dont give an accurate depiction of a normal game. Many ppl like myself tend to just sit on a stockpile of ebony moris because apart from seeing the cool animation...they kinda kill the fun of the match. Others however like to use em as often as possible...
The reason I mentioned the DC punishments is due to the fact that the devs throw out games where someone DCed when it comes to stats, but with the punishments in place...those ppl are likely to just suicide on hook and have the 3 v 1 match included in the stats where they normally would be excluded.

That sounds horrible. I play on pc and my endgame is usually nice, however, on pc the people have no chance to write you midgame, if they are not in a friendlist with you, like the steam messanger.
That right there is one plus side... I also always find it funny when someone dies first, but still waits around for 5 minutes or whatever to let you know how much you suck, lol.

the entity and i are buddies so it does that for me from time to time ^^
and honestly, i'd be proud af if i was able to camp a hook and simultaneously tunnel the remaining 3 survivors... now THATS map pressure! xD
That'll be the next Legion rework
-
He looks fun, which is why I'm currently building up BPs so I can get some decent lvls in him ASAP. As long as I have fun with a killer, I'm happy. I typically end up figuring out a playstyle and build that makes it work. Been able to do well with low tier killers before after putting in the time, so if thats where this guy ends up (although he looks decent) I'll probably still do just fine.

also from not too long ago, just a week or two.
to quickly sum up the game:
whenever i hooked someone, everyone immediately ran to their rescue, so i basically turned around and had my next chase (=> "camper"). then one would farm the hooked one off with BT and then the hooked guy would bodyblock for his mate. you get it, the typical way way too overaltruistic survivors. in the end one DCed after getting downed and another one killed himself on hook to give the last guy hatch, so a 3k. oh, we were also on the Disturbed Ward, so they had an amazing map to play with.

I'm off DbD until Dedicated Servers are fixed, but if you've got a low-ranked on Xbox, MidKnight and Sausag are good ones to add. They're my low ranked ones.
Thats why I just kinda chuckled when in the same thread PC players were begging they reverted the dedicated servers, console players were like "I sure cant wait til WE get them too". Now say that line again, but as Ned Flanders... No real reason, just the way it came across to me.

You know what else is unfun? Being gen rushed. At this point, killers gotta do whatever they can to win. Survivors have everything they need to win and more. Killers are working with almost nothing.
Meh, I couldve done fine with a "normal" build, I just like to mix it up and play the different playstyles Myer's addons offer.

My Xbox gold had run out, and with Gamepass your first month includes gold and is a dollar so... Figured might aswell. I use to play Warframe on xbox ALOT. My actual ingame playtime and not being afk on warframe is over 3000 hours. Im kinda really behind on collecting everything because DBD entered my life, but... I feel like this isn't about whether survivors are good or bad. It's only about toxic endgame chat. There will always be games where you get totally destroyed and didn't have that much fun. That happens to survivors and killers, but there's just no reason to be toxic in endgame chat. I feel like the first example of chat messages was not that bad, but when someone starts out with insults that's just unnecessary (on either side). Overall, no one is obliged to give the other side a great time with lots of fun, but just keep it civil. And sure, if both sides have fun then that's great but it won't be the case in every game.
Thats pretty much my stance on "Toxicity". I can shrug off getting teabagged at a pallet or something, but once the game is over... its time to say GG. I have much respect when people are able to do this instead of holding onto whatever happened midgame so they can spew insults after the match is over.
Heres an example... I mightve had some "Toxic" games last month where I kept facecamping ppl with a revved chainsaw, just to see how many kills I could get like this as opposed to actually applying pressure. The person in this screenshot was the first person hooked and facecamped. They ended up being a really good sport about it.
I gave em a thumbs up incase your wondering about the report icon

Don't with Dedicated Servers at the moment. They have destroyed the game for me.
That being said, though, if you want to catch up on Xbox, my names are Reaper Andross, Silent Sausag (it's a Siege joke) and MidKnight. Just find one of them
Mostly just hop on Xbox for when I feel like playing Warframe. Thats one game I always prefered a controller for, and although I downloaded it on my PC and tried that out...all my stuff is on Xbox, so I just stick to that. Also bought gamepass last week, so new stuff to try on that, lol.

you guys really like to complain about survivors don’t you?
doesnt matter if it is the ones that are better than you (those are OP! Plz nerf ALL survs!) or they are not so good (Potatoes! Git gud!)
Do you ever realize that for the casual player it’s definitely not as easy to learn to loop well and it’s really not fun to get destroyed then, it is a worse experience than getting genrushed as Killer by a well coordinated 4SWF. I know this from both sides. And there are definitely killers out there that give worse end game chat than these examples.
Never said theres not ######### ppl playing killer too. I once got facecamped by a Plague who spent 2 minutes puking on me on hook, then started REALLY phishing for a reaction in the endgame chat. I mostly just use these to spark a conversation (had one awhile back over "whens it appropriate to start slugging") although theres some that I share just so we all can get a quick laugh.I find it funny when someone gets salty because I didnt eat their DS or something.

Every time that's been suggested, people started rioting that it would give people an "unfair advantage" which I don't really understand how, but whatever. People find anything to complain about
I dont see how its really any different than stuff like this...
Sure it might not come in the box your console came in, but you still have people who flock to whatever they think might give them an advantage. The difference here being its not hard to go to Goodwill or another thrift store and find a kb/m for cheap. You COULD go for expensive ones, but you dont really need to. This isnt something thats gonna be limited to rich folks.

You also now understand why I say what I do about Hillbilly and his saw, huh? I use his hammer more for several reasons. This is one of them.
Also a lot of people say that a controller is way better for survivor. I believe them.
If you can hit the saw reliably... Im gonna prefer a saw hit over a hammer hit. But yeah, trying to control the saw using a controller was tricky. Also seemed like the map I was playing on (Oni's map) was way darker than what Im use to on PC, so I kept having a hard time keeping survivors in my sight. Still got the 4k, cuz...was on a rank 20 account but it was just a miserable experience. Im sure if I played more Id adapt to the controller in much the same way I did with other games (Originally played Overwatch on Xbox before swapping to PC), but I dont really have the motivation to screw around on xbox anymore.

Would just mean more options for your input of choice. Its no different than when people buy fancy controllers 3rd party controllers, only this time...you could simply go to a thrift shop and buy a cheap kb/m if you want just like PC players have the choice of using either.

Dude honestly if I was you I'd just permanently close the end game chat.
You seem like a really nice chill casual guy, you always say "gg" but these miserable pathetic bums are just really salty because things didn't go their way.
When things go bad for killers, sure some may go and rant on reddit and forums, but I've barely ever seen any killers be toxic and use severe slurs at end game chat, it's always the survivors. That guy is an example of a classic hypocritical survivor, he says you're sweaty as balls but the truth is that he's the sweaty tryhard since we can obviously see that he actually takes this game so seriously that losing makes him go batshit crazy and triggers him to that extent.
Then there's the ignorant survivors who have never played 1 second of killer in high ranks and think that they are the gods of the game (referring to the "huntress is ez" guy). Sure camping, tunneling and moris are annoying, but what about flashlights? teabags? current toolboxes? Using their logic we might as well say that looping is toxic and all pallets should be banned and removed from the game. What about we make a killers handbook for survivors as well? Let's make it so that if survivors are EVEN JUST TOUCHING gens slightly, it's illegal just like how they pressure killers into feeling guilty about killing which is literally their goal.
Freaking hell I am sick of these toxic awful people constantly being catered by the devs, and when they lose even though they have the advantage, they will have the audacity to treat the other side badly as if they weren't human beings also playing the game and trying to have fun. Classic entitled selfish survivors. Luckily not every survivor is like this but when you meet them, you honestly just wanna give up on this game or switch back to survivor.
Im pretty use to salty messages in endgame chat. They dont typically bother me anymore, I just like to share some of them to spark discussion.

Hmmmmm.... Doctor Heartbound shall try and diagnose this malady!
Most of the time nowadays I use Discordance or Monitor and Abuse to find the first person and knock the socks off of them in the first forty seconds. (Your mileage may vary depending on the strength of the survivor, but I can make this strategy work up to low red/high purple.)
When they're hooked I usually use a tracking perk like BBQ to find the next person. If they don't notice me I'll gen grab, if they do notice me I'll lock them against the side of the map and follow them from the middle without engaging loops (Unless they REALLY stick to a loop, which is rare. They'll panic) You may be able to bap someone else walking by doing this.
If Discordance doesn't light up now you just have to deal with that corner loop they ran to instead of all the loops in the middle. First guy usually gets rescued. Tap W in quick succession so your movement is weird. Maybe peek from behind a rock. You should get some friendly teabags.
Beat them senseless then hook. Also it might be beneficial to eliminate the 4 middle tiles on the edge to create guaranteed dead zones to cut chases down later in the map.
If I'm trapper I'll place traps in the stronger areas still up so it's Deadzone trap deadzone trap etc.
You should be down to about 2 gens now and all their defenses are gone. Just mop up and keep them off generators and I've rarely had a complaint. I like using things like cruel limits though. Nobody likes Trapper shoving them into a window they thought they were going to use and shoving his crotch into their face.
Don't hit immediately. Let them absorb just how bad they failed. Same if they're in a trap. Stare and nod. Good boy/girl. You like to struggle don't you?
Then just hang everyone up to dry. Depending on gen speed you may have less time for memes, but it's much easier to goof around after the first person bites it.
Also I usually let the first person I catch live on purpose because if they play poorly I use them as bait to draw out the stronger survivors and kill them first. Doesn't matter how good they are if the pallets all got chewed up by my weak link buddy.
I dunno. I play weird. I see people always going from loop to loop, from pallet to pallet.
Trap up god loops, or use your power to benefit from them. Bring the chonky add ons if you're having a bad night.
Maybe this helped? They don't complain much, and the ones that might probably left right after they got sacrificed.
I have no problem winning games, I just dont typically meme around about it.

What if...we let the cowboy ride Maurice...

@Heartbound said:
Oh god. I swear the egos of high ranks. My secret is I'm a rank 1 survivor and a low rank killer. I'm always having fun. Every time I feel like playing hard killer side this song comes to mind.
I try to play a wide variety of killers, and I'll pick and choose whatever addons I feel like. Sometimes like with Mikey, I'll swap between several loadouts on a killer depending on my mood. I tend to stay away from the stuff thats REALLY OP though, which is why I have an ever growing stock of moris and iri hatchets. The day that I decide to actually start using addons on Plague...
I digress though, typically if I do well at keeping the pressure up... I seem to get people who felt like I tunneled them...as in the entire team...at the same time. Earlier I was accused of camping and tunneling as Legion because I dared to chase and down 2 teammates who were in the same general area of the hooked survivor. 4k with only 1 gen done that game.
Heres an example of someone who didnt like my gen pressure on a pretty normal looking Myers build...

You and a lot of other people sadly from what I can tell.
I'm a bit of a memelord most of the time so I really don't aim for efficiency. Sometimes when a survivor tries to loop I'll just stare him down until he walks to me and accepts his death etc.
I stopped saving fun screenshots unfortunately but I hold on to some of those and more when I'm having a bad day as killer. It'll get better. Group hug.
I've seen killers catch flack for ANYTHING, with ppls definition of camping and tunneling being nuts. I remember watching a streamer flipout over a killer "tunneling" because as soon as he got off the hook, he started breaking the killers totem and the killer managed to save it in time. I got booted off the chat for mentioning that thats hardly tunneling...

Honestly, how do people not expect Tombstone when Myers isnt hitting EW3 super quickly? He only has a few common addon combos. If I realize I haven't heard Myers hit EW3 after a while, I know to stay TF away from him.
It can feel cheap getting killed without ever being hooked, but... With any normal build instead of just stalking about and sending him off injured so he can waste time healing (like I did with this game), I wouldve just T3ed several times to hook ppl instead. Playing this way wasnt neccisarily more practical than normal, just different. I gaveup alot of early game time to stalk instead of trying to down anyone (just injured abit). Ultimately, they got to about where they probably wouldve gotten if I had been running a normal build, being 4 gens done. This isnt like running an ebony where its JUST a shortcut with no downside.
-
@Fibijean said:
Seems like really bad latency. It might not have been your connection - since hit detection always prioritises the killer (in other words, if you got hit on their screen then you got hit), I believe you can get hit around corners like that just from the killer's ping being really high.
If a killer is experiencing a lagspike on their end, you could be in a completely different room. I remember one game where I was playing Billy on Ormond. A lagspike on my end caused me to see the survivor that I was chasing to just start running into a corner in the main building. I chainsawed them, only to find their body wasnt even in the building anymore once everything cleared up. This is why I keep a REAL close eye on my ping before going into matches now. Getting downs because of lag just feels so cheap.

There's a very simple answer to that; because an average typically means a draw. You shouldn't rank up or down in a draw, that's usually a good indicator that you're at the right rank.
The whole point of pips and ranks are to match you with people around your skill level. If you're having even matches already, you shouldn't be pipping unnecessarily.
There anything in the works for adjusting the chaser emblem on certain killers so we dont have situations like this...

If you have a clip I would report it as a bug. You really can't hack on console (well at least on Xbox). You could on 360 by doing save file editing but AFAIK it's not possible on Xbox One. PS I think it might be possible, IDK, but I doubt anyone would be hacking on consoles in 2020 because MS/Sony can easily detect it and perma-ban the console.
After watching the video...its a super clear hacker, lol. The guy wore full Legacy, teleported around as trapper while holding someone that would make Nurse jealous and litterally flew while holding someone (before burrowing underground so they could take a shortcut to the basement).

Feel like the biggest issue with the new sabo is that you can pull it off while the killer is in the attack cooldown. Even if you dont get to the hook with enough time to finish the sabo before the killer gets there...it doesnt matter. IMO that really shouldnt be a thing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8kH10RrQwI&t=1157s10:40 demonstrates what Im talking about. The survivor didnt get there in time to sabo before Scott hit him, but he was able to sabo and get out of there without getting a 2nd hit anyway. He tried doing it again later on, but by that point, scott had enough STBFL stacks to land a 2nd hit.

Ok, so the Hillbilly game does sound like bit of a slug-fest there, with a total of what I can see as basically 5 downs at most, since there was not mention of grabs. And Freddy should have been at least Silver by what you have said, but if this was before the rework, then numbers for emblems might have been different since it was months ago.
They havent changed chaser emblem since then. I know the requirements for Iri devout was changed and gatekeeper was recently changed, but neither wouldve made a difference here.
As far as the Billy game... I actually didnt slug at all. They went straight from the ground to a hook, I just kept running into the next guy like instantly, lol. I remember hooking one guy, planning on zooming across the map and immediately spotting my next target 10 ft away instead of a 10 second chase, lol.

That's why I omitted Plague from that list I mentioned. She is the anomaly here since her power is kind of a Catch 22 of the emblem system.
I'll even admit that I play Hammer Billy, or I did before the recent Xbox Dedicated Servers made me basically quit the game, not just because I hate the chainsaw, but for ranking and for my own personal enjoyment. I'll still use the saw more as a bait near a pallet. I even find it quicker for me to double hammer than go for a saw a lot of the time.
Trappers traps also screws him over for chaser since grabbing survivors out of a beartrap can result in 0 chaser points. If the beartrap catches them and they escape it injured...you dont get points for that injury. You just end up with more injured survivors running around for half credit per hook.

Ok. There are a few major things that you're missing within those screenshots. A few questions that I have to ask because you're only giving me a small portion of the game data.
- How long were each of the survivors injured, or more to the point, did they heal? Not calling you a camper or tunneller in the slightest. Survivors not healing will affect Chaser.
- With Bubba and Hillbilly, how many HEALTHY survivors did you saw? And how many did you hit with your hammer?
- How many of them died on hooks other than the 3rd?
- Were any of them running perks that make them Broken for a length of time?
- How long were some of these chases? Were they longer than they should have been?
Not calling you a bad killer at all, and props for getting to high purple and red in this age of matchmaking, but these are the questions that need to be answered so we get a full picture.
The Bubba game I cant remember off the top of my head. The Billy game was a total of 2 hammer hits and 3 saws. Didnt camp anyone, just had a tendency of instantly finding and downing the would be rescuer.
The Freddy game was actually about 1 week before his rework but I remember it well. game lasted roughly 2 minutes with me jugging the whole team. They managed to rescue the first guy that I hooked, but no one got any further than that. 3 dead on first hooks while the 4th being his 2nd hook.
no one was broken in either game. As you can tell from the gatekeeper emblems...these guys werent trying to rush gens while injured but were on fullblown recovery mode the entire time. They were feeling the pressure I was dealing.
About getting to purple and red... I do that all the time when I feel like it. I like to play Myers and Legion as well, and when I go for a sneaky Myers approach as opposed to a 1 shot everyone approach...I rank up easier although the games tend to be closer. I typically dont run infinite T3 Myers or anything like that, lol.
This is an example of a pissed off team right after the ruin change, lol.

I've heard that he'll be very hard to play on console because we're stuck with controllers. Really wish they'd think about console players when they make killers. The past 2 have been very console unfriendly
Would be nice if kb/m support would hit console. Feel like that would really do wonders for killer players there. I tried playing DBD on xbox last week and my god...I couldnt stand playing killer on a controller, lol. Im use to playing red ranks on PC, but playing as a fresh rank 20 Billy on console...-chills-

Devs mustve messed up and accidentally given Adam the cosmetics that were SUPPOSE to go to Claudette. I'm sure they'll fix it, lol.

Funny thing is that if you want to rank up, Legion is actually a fantastic killer to rank up with and get Chaser pips. You know, 28 stab wounds and all.
With the current ranking system, if you want to play this type of killer, then unfortunately you have to cop this type of penalty.
I like to bounce around. Played plenty of Legion today too. Just think on a basic level...its kinda dumb that doing TOO good will have the game putting you against the same rank opponites over and over again. If I play a game of Overwatch and spawnkill an entire team of bronze rank players all game, the game quickly deems I shouldnt be that rank and gets me out of there. That doesnt happen in DBD.
These are all examples of games where the survivors were absolutely steamrolled. I killed all 4 and kept them off gens like Im suppose to do. The game isnt recognizing this as high lvls of game play.I know I can try to play the system and give survivors more of a chance so I can hit them more, but I shouldnt have to do WORSE in order for the game to say "hes doing great".

Why is self care on there?
And if survivors fall to NOED for failing to break totems, how is it a newbie perk?
Its a joke in regards to how much time survivors waste selfcaring, it might as well count as a killer slowdown perk.

No real reason to care IMO. Theres no reward for ranking up, you just get sweatier survivors
The point though is that the point of the ranking system is for matchmaking purposes. In theory, if I stomp a survivor team...that should be an indicator I should be going against tougher teams. As it stands, thats often not the case. In the game I showed in the screenshot after a 4k with only 1 gen done, the game is saying I should keep going against those same rank survivors over and over.

I was thinking making him reload his gun during his weapon wipe animation would help alot with giving his power more fluidity. ATM, he kinda has a double cooldown between the blood wipe and reload after a successful reel-in.

I think this is a good idea. It's like back when Nurse first came out and there was wipe and fatigue. It rewards good gameplay and learning the killer and punishes bad gameplay. As for pulling survivors over pallets, I don't know. I would rather he breaks the pallet with the chain, breaking the chain with no stun, and the survivors act as though they simply broke free i.e giving them Deep Wounds and putting them to Injured if they aren't already.
I just know a thrown pallet is one area where He's being compared negatively to Huntress. Huntress can down someone on the other side of a pallet, while with the new killer...even if you shoot em, it doesnt really matter. Might make for a pretty cool addon if nothing else. I havent gotten to play him personally yet, because I dont really have the patience of waiting forever for a round in the PTB only to face survivors who just wanna meme around. ATM I'm just grinding BPs for once he's released.

Yea i agree with that, expert plague is another killer achievement i never got. Clearly the emblem system is far from being perfect.
They're talking about reworking the matchmaker and all that, so we might see some changes to how some killers get rewarded. I know its TECHNICALLY possible to get 12 hooks without winning any "chases" for the chaser emblem. Thats just dumb.

Entity: I demand 4 sacrifices to make me satisfied
Killer: hardcore tunnel, 4 hooks, 4 kills.
Also Entity: Safe pip. 4 sacrifices without 12 hooks is not entertainment.
Killer: You mean 12 hook within 400sec Gen?
Entity: DO IT
Killer: 1 hit down Power. 12 hooks, 4 kills
Entity: 1 pip. Not enough chase to be entertained.
The screenshot provided I THINK was like 8 hooks. It wasnt a slugfest match, I just kept em sick and kept em off gens with ruin+surv.
