  • Maybe if you weren't biased survivor main and you played ONLY killer for a month or two then you might see that things like hatch or looping have very little counterplay for most of the killers and are really unfun if you face optimal survivors who already get loads of second chances to win. Killers most of the time can do like 1 semi-serious mistake and if they do more they'll most likely lose.
I'm not saying that there isn't a ton of needless crying but you adding another crying post over other people crying certainly isn't helping.

  • Ehh killers can't have ping since they are the host. If you get into lobby with higher ping then you like just leave. If it's fine in lobby and then game starts lag heavily in chases then he's either lagswitching or has really unstable connection.

So it can be the killer but survivor's connection and zone from where they are conecting is also at fault. If I get in EU someone from Australia or Japan then you can't blame me for them having high ping.

Soon we'll have servers so for now get over it and wait.

So if people use swf ds and flashlights and win, killer got legitimately beaten too?

Yes, they are part of the game so using them is only logical. But I never said I enjoy either facecamping or DS flashlight SWF groups. Just saying that we all have to deal with what's in the game right now by just getting over it until it changes.

  • Even when you might feel cheated by facing "scummy tactit" you still got legitly beatem. Get over it and hope next game you'll do better.

Or you can always enjoy wonders of playing killer which surely isn't far more frustrating then survivor can ever be.

Actually NOED and Adrenaline are both perfectly fine and fair perks. Both are endgame tools which is why there are more powerfull then normal perks.

You better think of way to gut DS so it's not stronger then both combined as it is right now.

DS is going to get reworked anyway. It's better to deal with the other 2 problems. Plus if you seriously think it's fair to try to judge how you can loop a 119% killer then that's just wrong.

No, the fact that you can loop any killer is just wrong. Killers should be powerfull enough to pretty much win 1v1s faster then in 3+ minutes as it is right now if survivors don't suck. Fair chase should either end in downing the survivor or survivor jukes the killer and loses him. That's how it should be but unfortunatelly game in it's current state doesn't have that many mechanics to support such gameplay. I personally hope that in time devs will realise that looping as fair as it is right now isn't what chases should be centered about and rework it.

You are entitled to have your opinion but for me both NOED and Adrenaline are as fair as endgame perks can be. ( kinda unfair was old NOED that lasted forever and couldn't be disabeled in any way )

And promised DS nerf is taking forever. I'll be glad if we even get teased that it's coming in 2021.

I agree the old NOED was way too overpowered. But the current one makes killers way too fast. Plus the nerf I suggested is nowhere near what I actually want. I just listened to the community and came up with a less biased nerf idea.

Tbh I don't think it would actually matter if you nerfed it that way. If you get spotted by killer with NOED chases are someone is going down either way. Even without NOED getting chased by killer when gens get power most of the time will result in killer getting at least 1 more hook.

So why not remove the movespeed buff. It's such a small nerf I can't believe people are crying over THAT.

Probably the same reason SB can't get 3s delay before triggering to remove the unfair aspect of stealing the hit from the killer.
Crying will always happen if you nerf side that someone mains no matter how small the changes are. For example the exhaustion change wasn't even that significant and review boming that happened because of it was tottaly unjustified. Not saying that it didn't help killers out thou.

But still there are some changes happening to perks every now and then so we might see NOED or Adrenaline beiing revisited. Only the Devs know so we just gotta wait and see.

  • Since Spark of Mandess chapter I learned that beiing excited that new chapter is coming soon is a bad idea. There are always justified delays so don't get your hopes up. Most likely we'll get a word at least a week if not more before next PTB drops.

  • Rancoring DS users.

  • Hide and seek event. Something to encourage people to try stealth.

  • This is actually a really old issue. But since I've never found out what causes it or why it happens so randomly I never bothered to report it. Most people will just say it is lag or bad hitboxes of DBD and that could be it but It's hard to say.

I doubt that NOED can fully carry killers to high ranks. Maybe when they face eaqully bad survivors but if they suck even NOED won't save them. I personally wouldn't mind one bit if DS and NOED were removed but losing NOED would actually suck since it's main core of endgame builds which are quite fun. Not like DS which is tottaly BS and works all game without any downside (having only 1 use isn't a downside).

I hope that next chapter will finally do something about both (mainly DS). But knowing the devs it will take another 2 years before some impactful changes happens with DS or NOED.

I agree DS is by far the worst perk in the game in terms of fairness, mainly because multiple survivors can use it. You can play around an obsession DS, but not around non-obsession DS.

I think a good solution to NOED, without actually changing it, would be to give it some sort of "tell" that gives away the killer has NOED before end game. Like I said above I run NOED on my Trapper to counter gen rush games, and I would be more than happy to let survivors know I am strapped JUST so they take the time to slow down and do totems. If the game lasts more time and I don't get my NOED I'm totally fine with that because that's really what I want.

Maybe some kind of noise notification that would randomly happens once per game after survivors pop a gen. It would make it so that survivors who are observant to their surroundings could know when to do totems. Problem might be that killer would be unable to defend his totems so it might need to add auras for unlit totems for killers.

I think it should be subtle. I said in previous posts that when you kick a gen as killer the sparks are red for like 10 seconds. It's a very small thing, but astute survivors would see it and know "NOED". But at the same time it's low key enough that even though survivors might not notice. Plus as killer you could avoid the tell by not kicking gens, which is detrimental to your goals but let's you hide the fact you have NOED so it's a trade-off. And still those astute survivors could notice you never kick a gen and might realize "NOED" still.

That actually sounds really neat. I wish devs ever came up with such great ideas.

I know it's your opinon but I still think this is closer to reality. Ofc this tier list is based on not using addons.

    S: Nurse Hillbilly
    A: Spirit Hag Huntress Clown
    B: Michael Leatherface Legion Pig
    C: Trapper Doctor Wraith
    D: Freddy

I never understoond why people think Myers is high tier. Yeah he's fun to play with/against and has quite usefull power but overall he has really slow start, wastes a lot of time on stalking and has no anti loop tools or mobility. Even when I love playing Michael I still consider him mid tier since good survivors should never allow him to snowball.

Disagree with Hag not being S. Disagree with Leatherface being so high, Wraith should be in that spot imo. Apart from that, decent tierlist.

Yeah I though about putting hag into S tier but do you ever get survivor SWF groups where there is one guy who just disarmes your traps constantly with flashlight. If traps were not possible to be destroyed so easily with flasligts then I would put her in S tier but with such huge weakness and while also beiing slow killer who is dependant on survivor mistakes to get their mobility I'd say she's just A tier to me.

I consider Bubba to be better then wraith since he has an instadown and can not be body blocked. His hook defence is superior and he can do some small mindgames with his chainsaw. Yes he is overall pretty bad and needs some buffs/rework but wraith's main advantage over him is that he can find people faster and has slightly better map control.
I dunno maybe I'm just a little biased since I really like Bubba and want him to be good. Also if you get really alturistic survivors you can abuse them far more with Leatherface then you can with Wraith.

  • With addons she is, without any addons she isn't. Main change she should get balance wise is only to change her addons to prevent her to have more then 2 blinks (maybe ultra rare for 3 blinks).

Issue is that there are more very skilled nurses then there are very skilled 4 man randoms survivors teams. What makes nurse so good is that unless survivors know to use different pathing and mindgames, she dominates. And since looping is meta why should our poor survivors try to learn how to play correctly against her. Shealth also hurths her a lot but survivors never care if they are spotted or not so that's on them too.

So yes is is very strong and has little to no counterplay when beiing close to her but no she isn't OP overall. If anything she is extremly fun to play against for some people like me (since I love the mindgaming potecial there is for a chase).

  • Most hilarious part of this thread is that there are poeple who actually defend the fact that gens can be done so fast. Mistakes or not, perks or not, the game is fundamentally flawded with current main objective for survivors.

I hope that devs will acknowledge that survivor gameplay need significant changes so that we all can enjoy the game without matches like these beiing possible.

  • Yeah it sucks and could use some touch from devs but if you really want to play DBD then just switch to killer. You can't really be dodged as them and you'll feel good about yourself not beiing scared of those mighty items/SWF.

  • That was actually really smart move from your side and I'm suprised killer actually looked.

Another hard to swallow pill is that these are purely your opinions which have no actuall credibility.

As someone who bases all opinions on statistics , all around game knowledge from every point of view without a side bias , I’d say my opinions are a lot more “credible than most”

They may be more credible then most but that still doesn't make them absolute truth as you've tryed to make them look like. Game's balance is something quite based on perspective. For someone like you DBD may seem balanced, for others not as much.

  • Another hard to swallow pill is that these are purely your opinions which have no actuall credibility.

  • Best one is certainly Punisher Freddy.

PWYF , rancor , whispers , bitter murmur

Just find and get 3 stacks for PWYF on your obsession and then let them wake up from the dream. Then stalk them until survivors power the gates. After that you finish them of with your PWYF stacks and instanly mori them. They depip and you depip while playing by the rules and having loads of fun ruining DS player's day.

I always do a few games of this build after a game with 4 DSes in previous match. It's so calming to not care about their little "1 use only" perk and depip as bonus.

  • Unfortunately he doesn't need pretty much any skill to play and has no actuall counterplay . That makes pretty badly designed killer power wise. Best part about him is his art and lore design with his map.

  • I hope for some kind of priest with church map(not a lame substitude of a church like Father Cambell's chappel). It would be neat if it had some kind of underground layer or a tomb with very narrow corridors.

  • Except DS and maybe a little rework for hatch everything on your list is kinda OK. Real problem lies in lack of either stalling mechanics for killers or lack of in game objectives for survivors. If survivors focus their main objective gens they can finish each game under 5 min mark.
Also map design isn't helping. Some maps have such incredibly stupid loops which connect to more stupid loops that it makes really frustrating to play killer on them.

Overall we're slowly making good progress towards healthy gameplay for both sides. Hopefully next mid chapter patch will rework DS and give us playable Freddy.

  • I'd like to see them getting some kind of small rework. Like after the gates are opened you gain ability to mori any downed survivors without conditions. That would be pretty balanced and would bring out more strategy towards opening doors if there was an unknown offering played before the match.

  • Yes he has no actuall counter. Only thing survivors can do is gen rush. Which will work since Legin is currently really slow on downing survivors with his power addonless. (that isn't the case for rank 10-20)

You can try to stealth him or confuse him after he hits you with his power. But that won't work on good legions so. Just do gens, it's only thing you can do.

  • As killer I kinda enjoy them so I would agree with them staying.

But they will probably never be implemented as real permanent item since originial firecrackers were supposed to be in game long time ago. Devs said they'll be making them into full items eventually but since that was almost 2 years ago It will probably never happen and they'll stay event item forever.

  • Did you consider that if you never played survivor enough then you may not be the best at survivor gameplay ?

Also if you're getting hit through windows often then you're either too greedy with them or you were out of position to even get through without getting hit in the first place.

  • @The_Crusader said:
I'd nerf his add ons. They feel like BS.

Because survivors are stupid and let him feed upon them. Even his mori addons have built-in counter, the mighty lockers. Almost any addons that killers have can be countered in some way if survivors just think which they really don't want to.
Better nerf everything just to be safe it's fun and not too difficult for them to play against.

  • If such minor annoyance (that was kinda on you since no one forced you to go to the basement, you could have left her to die there) gets to you then hope you won't meet Punisher Freddy build.
It uses PWYF and rancor to stalk obsession whole game and them mori them at the end without going for anyone else. I had one game like that against me so I decided to try that build myself and I'm having so much fun with it.(Especially after heavy DS games with 4 people running it)

Don't make such a big deal of dyiing. If he kept you there for ever only to grief you then I'd undertand you but he did not.

  • He used to be the most powerfull killer in game even stronger then nurse. But then devs nerfed him with this :

-Fixed an issue that caused the Clown's stomach to jiggle too much in the tally screen.

  • @powerbats said:

OP has only posted survivor buffs into his post so yeah he is biased otherwise he would take time to write about other issues as well but he did not care about other ones since they don't concern him.

Ok so they only posted survivor ideas, that doesn't make them survivor biased since as has been pointed they've also posted mainly killer buffs. Besides sometimes it's better and easier to focus on one side of an equation so as not to lose your train of thought.

Also giving survivors aura perks for free wouldn't put them on same level as SWF since main reason why SWF is so powerfull isn't the information it gives but that it allows 4 great survivors to play together and have strategy with communication as bonus to all this. Giving aura perks to survivors would only ruin immersion of the game which is one part of survivor gameplay that I enoy so I'm against it.

It's more along the lines of giving them information since that's what is important and what makes swf stronger. If the solo player is on the same level as swf information wise they'd know when someone is going for a save, when someone isn't. Who's working on what gens etc since that's where they're at a huge disadvantage.

I play mostly solo survivor and giving me some info wouldn't ruin my immersion in the least since i'd still try and skulk around. I'd still be paying attention just as i always do for the heartbeat and my skill checks etc. I'm most definitely not going to start playing sloppy just because i've got a few extra tidbits of info.

Survivors actually aren't playing to win since larger part of my playtime is on killer so I'd known what builds they run and how they play. Many survivors are using builds that aren't 100% meta and are far more alturistic then they should be if winning is their goal. Main reason why killers experience ingame isn't horrific is because survivors most of all play for fun. If every single survivor decided that only winning is what they want they would dominate every game that doesn't have god nurse in it.

So because survivors aren't playing meta somehow equates to them not playing seriously to win how again? Did you ever consider that they want a challenge in order to win, they're going for that extra bit of difficulty like going perkless etc.

Also you don't need a God Nurse just to win against people playing to win, that's the biggest fallacy out there. I played Spirit at rank 1 and faced many a sweaty team and usually was still able to get 2-4k quite often. If you think you can't win unless you're playing a Nurse then you won't win even if the survivors make plenty of mistakes.

Having fun while winning isn't the same as going straight for the win only with nothing else in mind. You can play fun builds with which you can win but you could win more with more meta builds that are far more powefull. Meaning that survivors want fun which 5 min games can't give them since in such sort amount of time nobody has fun unless having fun is ruining killer's fun.

That's incorrect, you can have fun while also going for the straight up win and again this is a zero sum excuse made to back up an argument. I can go full meta builds and still have fun because I choose to have fun and not because it's a meta build.

I've faced really good killers some with 4k hours and those are games that can last quite long and both sides have FUN. It's not because meta builds were used but because both sides enjoyed the match that was challenging. Also just stop saying it's trying to ruin the killers fun since that's another zero sum excuse fallacy.

The victimhood mentality displayed is pretty bad since if the survivor have fun it's only fun if they're ruining the killers fun. To use your logic the killer is only doing quick games to ruin the survivors fun which is also a zero sum fallacy.

I have no idea where did you find that I want killers to remain weak. What I actually want is not to make all killer stronger but to make games longer which would actually make many killers stronger in the process. Many killers have optimal power level but games last far too short if survivors rush gens. So we need either to give survivors other objectives to work towards or give killers more tools to stall and protlong the game.

I was making a point that using your logic of not buffing solo up to swf level you're forcing killers to remain weak since killers can't be buffed that much. Since if killers were buffed that much you'd destroy solo players to where they'd get killed before the 1st gen was done.

The secondary objective is something they're working on which the test during Halloween proved could work provided it's done right. But again making the games longer via a another objective does help killers but again solos would suffer.

The 3 years part was exaggeration based on the amount of time fixing DBD takes since whenever devs do something right they get backlash from survivors even when changes weren't as drastical as what killer had to endure several times. (like when for some reason timing on pallets and flaslight was removed, great change indeed)

Well they just buy back the rights to the game and since then things have been improved dramatically and it's not just survivors that complain killers do as well. also using the complaints on the forums or the steam forums isn't a good way to judge balance since the extremes are more likely to post.

Most of the rest don't mind much and just roll with the changes and with the patch changes coming more frequently but in smaller sizes it'll be much easier to adjust as well.

I really don't mind if they are/aren't biased. Although it would be nice to hear their opinions on killer issues as well to get the feel for their view of balancing the game.

Yes but that disadvantage only slows their efficienty of working on gens. We want games to last longer so them not knowing if someone is going for the save is good for game's health, it wastes their time to go check. If surviovrs knew where killer/ all survivors are their coordiation would increase but their game skill wouldn't (chasing, juking skills etc). There would still be huge difference between SWF and solos since SWF can manage to not have even 1 single weak survivor chase wise. We see this issue differently so we'll probaly won't come to agreement in this topic.

Ofc everyone plays for win. That's from where the fun is coming from, overcoming the difficulties of actually winning changes. If you run no mither you'll have far more losing games then if you would run DS insted.
I'm just pointing out that if both sides do their maximum to win god nurse would equate to try hards 4man SWF group of experienced players. We can win games against them but even if we do as Freddy for example that doesn't mean it was purely because of our skill or them making mistakes. There are many variables to win from maps, pallet spawns, gen spawns etc. I personally encoutered such group and managed to win a few times even with bad killers but I really didn't enjoy those games.

Fun is subjective. Some people can have fun while losing others only be winning. I find every game fun as long it's not too short. I'm just saying that current meta builds aren't exactly build around both sides having fun which is something I'd like to see chane.

Exatcly, killers can't get any more buffs but we can encourage them to prolong games by picking more chases. That way they won't tunnel 1 guy because of fear that unless they do the might lose not killing anyone. Currently 3 hooking all survivors isn't really good way to win. Solos get afflicted by tunneling and camping far more then SWF so if solos should get buffs it would be in the department of these 2 issues. It's just my opinion but if there was some certanity that gens won't suddnely pop like crazy killers would tunnel/camp less. Longer games mean we can give survivors more tools to fight tunneling/camping without buffing killers to silly amounts.

Agreed, since they bought rights to DBD the game has improved significantly. I think that devs listen to people's complains maybe a little too much no matter if it's killers or survivors (which I agree complain quite equally). During halloween event they incread rewards immidieatly after there was an exposion of complains on forums. It's not same as balancing but it gives us insight on that devs listen to us and incorporate our feedback more then we might think.

It's pretty late where I live so if you have more to say I'll respond tomorow, if not then it was pleasure disscuing.

Perfect example of survivor main who wants buff for free to his already more powerfull side. Survivors still rule the game with iron fist IF they are trying to win which most players don't since they either suck or want games longer then 5 min.

Your ideas are what would tottaly ruin any horror aspect or sence of tension that DBD has left so no I hope those never happen. Grind isn't hard to fix it's only matter of time that something will change as it always does.

Also you named quite a lot of things that need SIGNIFICANT changes so no the game has still long way to go to be balanced. On the positive side devs have been lately doing pretty good job with balancing so if they won't do something utterly stupid in following patches it might not take another 3 years to get the game balanced for both sides eaqully.

Perfect example of a killer main not thinking things through since if you buff solo survivors up the level of swf information wise. Now see how that sounds when your own insult gets used against you, it makes you look silly . If you buff solo up to swf levels you can now buff killers up to facing swf level since everyone will be on equal grounds.

Also who says people aren't trying to win just because they suck doesn't mean they're not trying or are you always playing to lose as well? Since if we go by your logic if you're new to a game or you just suck you're not trying to win.

It also doesn't matter if the player wants the match to go longer or not, if they're trying to win while having fun doing it they're still trying to win. Someone not trying to win would run up to the killer and sacrifice themselves, someone not trying to win would simply dc the moment the match started.

Also what you're saying is keep the status quo so that killers remain weak because gasp making them stronger would remove the horror aspect of the game. Do you see how illogical that sound now that' it's worded properly.

If a killer is a lot stronger to the point they can take on a swf group or solos buffed to that level then the game becomes much more scary. The grind will take time to fix properly but if you fix the killer power role issue the grind becomes easier to fix.

There's a lot that still needs to get done, map reworks, perk changes, less homogenization on both sides etc. Yes the improvements have been nice and they're actually going to do them more frequently in smaller increments which will speed things up and also avoid major bugs.

No it won't take the game 3 years to get it right and the Ad Hominem thrown in was beyond nonsensical and only serves to lower your posts quality.

OP has only posted survivor buffs into his post so yeah he is biased otherwise he would take time to write about other issues as well but he did not care about other ones since they don't concern him.

The 3 years part was exaggeration based on the amount of time fixing DBD takes since whenever devs do something right they get backlash from survivors even when changes weren't as drastical as what killer had to endure several times. (like when for some reason timing on pallets and flaslight was removed, great change indeed)

    @Kebek
You must be new here otherwise you'd know 80% of Nickenzies suggestions favour the killer.
And if you already knew that then i guess that 2 suggestions which benefit the survivors out of 8 are enough to be survivor biased.

I don't really mind if he is biased towards one side or the other. I'm discussing current post in which he made suggestion for balance changes favoring only survivors. I don't really remeber all the posts I've read or people who posted them since unlike many DBD players I don't keep lists of people and what they did / didn't.
If he posted some changes towards his only stated gen rushing I'd consider him to be non biased if they were actually reasonably good changes.

  • Unless I somehow missed it Monto doesn't stream right. So even when he is quite skilled killer his videos are cherry picked to be enjoyable and showcase the builds he's trying to use. When you don't see the bad games that he could have experienced it's hard to claim that he's a god killer.

  • Lol be carefull what you wish for OK. Imagine if all of you are unkillable but you can still be hooked. So you'll hang there foreven until you dc since killer can't do anything more to kill you and you are immobilized. Sounds fun, really.

Also have you ever heard about lockers ? They make you pretty unkillable you know.
How about thinking before you complain like a little entiteled survivor who is too busy whining insted of thinking.

  • Your second idea is almost correct.

DH should not be lightened up until you gain 2 stacks (increased movement speed on tier III ) then it would be in much better place with still enough counterplay. Pity that most survivors will call such chnage OP even when it would benefit them giving killer perk that supports non-camping playstyle. Right now it't pretty much useless against good survivors or even mediocre ones with current totems spawns right next to gens.

  • We also had 3 blink nurse baseline and machinegun build. You probably weren't here around when Myers came out with bugged PWYF that gave you 3 stacks in chase all the time. Saying that playing killer back in the day was harder thet it is now isn't true since there were always bugs/mechanics that favored one side more that got evenutally nerfed. If anything the game is now more balanced then it used to be but definitely not easier.

DS was totally bugged for 1 year of it's release so not too many killer complained about it since it was a mess.

When sabo ruled the game IG still alowed you to take survivors to basement with every killer every game from any part of the map so if you had it you didn't give a damm about sabo squads.

Bloodlust is tottal garbage and any killer trying to use it is giving up on any hope of ever winning so there is no difference from time it wasn't in the game.

Gen regression is only usefull against rank 20 survivors or those who don't know what gen is and how to hold M1 so once again not a great mechainc for killers to stall the game.

Stagger from faling wasn't big deal before and wouln't be now either. What was a big deal was that exhaustion didn't ecxist at the time and survivors could stack sprint perks. Ofc that was insane and devs managed to nerf it pretty soon so good job on that.

Aura reading didn't matter back in the day since killers used other tracking perks. Thre even was a time when spies from the shadows was meta lol but mainly whispers until BBQ came out which is still worse at tracking the whispers. Only reason why BBQ is more used is because of the BP bonus. Skillful players with whispers were almost impossible to hide from so you should thank BBQ for replaceing whispers since BBQ has many counters while whipsers has none. (don't you dare to whine that whispers is OP now that you know )

Pallets aren't the real problem. If there is 5 more or 5 less doesn't matter when gens can be done under 5min of the game when survivors don't suck and actually want to win.

Also people asking for balance changes are the main reason why we are in much better state of the game then before. Luckily devs listened to those who were constructive with their feedback unlike you. You sound like you want to point out that all killers are curently viable and don't need any changes just because it was "harder" back in the day which isn't entirely true.

  • I wish devs would try such changes in PTBs just to see if it would be too strong or decently balanced.

  • Even when my hatred for cornfileds is massive due to cornsickess I still don't agree with lessening it. It's one of the very few map specific mechanics that's actually unique and usefull while not beiing a stupid loop spot.

I've been here for a long time. Didn't use them even when they were instant but tbh I was quite tempted to when they were getting nerfed.
