The new effect for hex ruin shouldn't be something that is already in game. Better would be to make it so that skillcheck needless go the other way around and faster.

The direction thing is interesting, but this would be very similar to Hex: Lullaby, also currently in the game, when it comes to the skill-check speed.

If you'd want to try to do the different skill-check direction approach, it may need a secondary effect, not speed, to drive it more apart from Lullaby yet justifiable as a hex perk.

It feels to me that your new hex ruin is really underpowered. Like how many survivors actually have real problem with doc's skill checks. I'd say that your new hex ruin would never be used by anyone above rank 10.

  • The new effect for hex ruin shouldn't be something that is already in game. Better would be to make it so that skillcheck needless go the other way around and faster.

  • Because they have SWF so they don't need to actually equip them. Solos however use them from time to time. I recently had match with fat jesus who used aftercare and it was such a godlike perk. I'll soon get it and be using it too.

Once again new map has THESE kind of totems.

    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1588629011

Yeah, change the totems spawn, 1 month later everyone get used to the new spawns then change it again, yeaaaaaah great solution

It's not about getting used to new spawns that's not the problem. It's about those damm totems spawning RIGHT ON survivors main objective. They don't even have to look for them and waste some time running to check those spots when they have them 3m from their gens.

How would you like to spawn like 3 out of 5 matches right infront of the killer as these totems spawn kinda right infront of survivors. Wouldn't be very fair right.

  • I just wish they added just one rule. NO totems in X radious around gens. It isn't hard devs PLEASE this is like spawning survivor right infront of the killer.

But Jake? Holy [BAD WORD], he's like a unicorn. I caught myself switching to bubba if there was a Jake in the lobby.

Is THAT why I only see Bubbas? Damn I gotta last second switch to Jake from now on lol

Yeah poor Jake. Anyone owning bubba will most likely tunnel/camp you the instance you start the game from their lobby.

I’ve just started last second switching to Jake, not with any flashlight or anything, just LESS BUBBAS

I think no one will blame you for that. And if they will then that's the highest level of childishness they can probably reach.

So were meant to see that if you face 4swf with the same load out, and CHASE ONE PERSON ALL GAME, you dont get 4k. Well no #########.

No, we're meant to see that no player no matter how skilled he is isn't a machine and makes mistakes thus loses sometimes. Anyone claming that his kill rate is above 90% constantly facing good players and not potatoes is a liar unless he streams every game and can back it up. No 90% kill rate without proof please.

It also shows that SWF need tunning down quite a bit.

No, the only thing I saw was a freddy that tunneled hard. Flashlight was barely used. Gens only popped after he chased one guy into oblivion.

All it shows is a freddy who cant let a chase go/ apply his pressure with dreamworld. That alone doesnt show anything about swf.

If you chase 1 person for 4 gens it doesnt matter the killer or survivor setup, it's a dumb idea.

Be my guest and watch the other several hundret matches against the best community has to offer. Marth88 wanted the best players to play against them and use powerfull addons which a lot of them were. This is just minor trashtalker that got owned so nothing to really see there.

    Im playing Nurse not Freddy

That guy was claiming to be the best nurse ever lived too. Then he asked someone to play her for him insted and when they refused he just got owned as his real best killer. Camping Freddy lol, that was really funny. Good times.

  • I'm doing just fine as solo survivor against noed. Just play the way like killer always has it. Either take your time and break totems (if your team dies during that you can have hatch easy) or be cautious at the end game and let someone else open the door/take the first suprise hit.

  • Ehh no that isn't really what noed should become. Noed punishes survivors who rush gens and it's not survivors who are on a clock to win. Every survivor can take risk of their own free will to take time to cleanse totems or face consquences of taking risk by rushing gens or getting found be the killer. One of noed positives is survivors wasting time looking for dull totems. At least there is some counterplay not like all of meta survivor perks.
Your change would nerf noed even more then it curently is which isn't even to great to begin with. Either leave the current version or give us back the 2 min timer noed or even even better the permanent noed. Those were good times for endgame as killer.

  • Probably on incompetence of devs ? Most likely rooting from neither side getting exactly what they want.

  • I always anticipate new DLCs with a lot of hype just from the fact that the game is constantly growing. Also I agree with Orion, Legion might be stronger then people give him credit now. He's quite dangerous killer to balance since if he gets too many buffs he might be even stronger then nurse and far easier to use.

    BubbaDeservesMap

He has one it's called Thompson House

But I want an originial one, real one. That one is hillbilies rip off from times when devs couldn't even imagine they would get Leatherface license. It could come bundeled with rework for Leatherface to make his image in this game more then Hillbillies reskin.

  • I wish Bubba could get his own map. Maybe with BBQ event hooks too.

    BubbaDeservesMap

  • I will, since I like to support the game that I really like. Not like it's extremely expensive to buy DLCs anyway.

  • Most of his addons are really really bad. But the best ones are probably combo of Frank's mix tape and Stab wounds study. Makes him able to down survivors with his power without wasting a few years landing 4-5 hits on them.

Points out that killer wants a kill.
    Penalty tilts toward survivors.
    No repercussion for the killer.

    Beautiful.

I don't know where you're going with this since I haven't said camping is an issue and other points aren't correct either.
Survivors and killer both benefit from this effect. Killers get more time to chase other survivors and survivors get higher movement speed to make them able to lose the killer much easier.
Also from psychological perspective killer will know that those survivors won't do gens very fast thus making them less of the threat which will give survivors better game experience by them not getting camped/tunneled.

So first off this is just an idea so don't judge it based on numbers since those can be changed to be more blanced. Mainly post your opinion on how would you like to see some similliar mechanic added to the game.

So to the first topic, why camping/tunneling happens. The way I see it is that these tactics are used to help killer better manage survivors since getting one of them out of the game asap while there are still enough gens left will mostly lead to a 4k for the killer. If there was some reason to not kill once hooked surviors maybe then killers would be more willing to not tunnel. Problem lies in that unhhoked survivors are the same threat towards gens as not hooked ones while beiing easier to kill.

So I propose new status effect that could lessen camping and tunneling. It could be named Fear of death. (FoD)

-Once survivor is unhhooked he'll be affected by FoD for next 2,5 minuts.
-Survivors affected by FoD first time suffer from lowered gen repair speed by 20% for the duration.
-Survivors affected by FoD first time have their movement speed increased by 4% for the duraion.
-Survivors affected by FoD second time suffer from lowered gen repair speed by 40% for the duration.
-Survivors affected by FoD second time have their movement speed increased by 8% for the duraion.
-Powering exit gates disables all effects of FoD.

Numbers are a bit drastic but I wanted it to be impactfull so that it affects peoples gameplay. So tell me if you like/don't like it (I'd apriciated if you said why) or post additional effect FoD could have and if lots of you will like it maybe devs will notice and impliment something simmiliar.

Truetalent has suggested a similar idea, but the "FoD" was only given out for fresh hooks and affected the whole team.
He got trashtalked for being a camping killer, do you see the irony?

But lets be real here, this would result in a survivor nerf and survivors want the killer to be punished for camping/tunneling, they dont want rewards for not-tunneling/not-camping.

He did ? Well that's good, even when he's off with some things he mostly has pretty good idea about DBDs balance.
I don't agree with affecting whole team since punish survivors for mistakes they haven't done isn't good way about balancing.
Yeah there always are whining survivors who don't want any changes done unless it's pure buffs but noone should listen to those. Devs seems to be going the right way about balancing last few months so I hope they'll notice this and hopefully take something out of it.

I just saw that you are suggesting to increase the movement speed, must have missed that before.
Thats absolutely a no-go, you would be unable to catch them again. (In fact your suggestion would be an insane survivor buff, not a nerf^^)

And just to put your numbers into relation. If you increase the movement speed of a survivro by 8%, then this means that the movement speed difference to huntress or hag is 20% compared to before, i.e. they need 5 times longer to catch up and here I didnt even take into account the different sized hitboxes that play an important role when looping too

As I said numbers I set are really high to make it feel impactfull. The idea wasn't to nerf survivors or buff killer but to increase game lenght for both sides while making it fair for both too. Killers will get more time to chase other survivors while unhooked survivors are so fast that the chance of killer going for them, insted of someone else, is quite small. Yes it would be very hard to catch unhooked survivors but what else way is there to discourage killers from focusing on just one if not making it harder to catch them.

Also those effects last only for 2,5 min and survivor affected by them is really hard to catch but can't really do gens. If killer spreads the damgage between several survivors then he's stalling the game for quite a while. I don't really know if it would solve anything but it would be lovely to see devs experiment a little. They don't have to make it right on the first try but it's certainly better to do at least something if they don't want to add side objectives.

YOu need to encourage killers not to tunnel.

Btw, the devs already told us that they dont want to mess with the movement speeds, it would remove all kind of "feel of the game" since everything would switch constantly, all your "muscle memory" woudl be screwed over

I do encourage killer not to tunnel by giving unhhoked survivor 20 or 40% lower gen repair speed, that's probably biggest encouragement at least I can imagine. They can tunnel that extremely gen speed weakened survivor if they want. If they really want him to die they can hard camp him which will still work.

It wouldn't be too much of altering movement speed if it last only for 2,5 min while survivor can't really do gens but who knows. I just would like to see some new mechanics that would spiece up the game. Getting new DLCs is great but they could take time to do something new with baseline game.

Weve been told that they are working on secondar objectives. Ireally hope that they get this done and dont withdraw it again as they did with hatch/DS/SC

Well I don't remember them saying so but if they did it will probably take at least year before it gets here.

About SC I think they said they'll nerf healing overall insted (those damm 4s as survivors would say) but DS and Freddy rework as scheduled during or after December if I remeber correctly.

Nothing will ever prevent killers from camping.

The core issue is that chases are too stressful for some killers and they don't want to put up with it. The game experience improves for them when they get their first survivor on the hook because they are not in the chase anymore and start to chill beside the hooked survivor. Gen rushing and other ways to deal with this doesn't affect them at all. They already accepted defeat, and even if you gen rush them, they will accept the lose and do the same thing in the next match.

As long as they remain as average or below average killers, they will never stop camping. This is why they hate the new borrowed time since regardless of their will, chases will either start or they will get the unhooker and reset the camping. It means that with gen rush, all 4 can escape, the nightmare of all campers, not even being able to properly camp the survivor and get ridiculed.

Well you can't really talk for everyone. I'd say many killers actually do enjoy chases quite a bit and would love to get rewared for playing the fun way for both sides.
Ofcourse I don't want to prevent camping or tunneling just to add more tools for other playstyles to have other viable strategies except these two.
Mediocre killers don't really know how the game works so they aren't the group the game should be balanced around. I think even them would welcome some simillar changes as I'm suggesting.

I think they should add a tally mark next to the player's name if they have been hooked. So the killer doesn't have to memorize if the player has been hooked, or what hook stage they were on.
As for your idea, I think killers would just abuse it and still tunnel (having an easier target.) The survivors effected by "FoD" wouldn't want to do gens anyways because of how much extra time it would take them.

Tottaly agree with the part about showing hook progress after unhoking.

They could still tunnel but it wouldn't be easier since survivors would be far more faster for those 2.5 min. If the do then they are wasting their part of FoD since by chasing the survivor their debuff doesn't affect them since they can't do gens but they are still 4 or 8% faster making them really hard to catch. I don'T know if you ever chased survivor using active hope but they are really fast.
And yes the idea is that survivors either wouldn't do gens or would do them really slowly. Killers main threat are survivors who do gens so this would promote them to chase down and hooks as many survivors who haven't been hooked yet thus avoiding tunneling but still getting rewared with more time for their game.

  • @Maelstrom1313 said:
By any chance do you miss skill checks when sabotaging hooks? Just asking cause going off your request for game it sounds like you do, if that's the case just bring in a toolbox with add ons tommake the skill checks bigger

The notification part is just to add something more to it. Main reason why I would like to have this perk is to know when hooks start to regenerate since 180s cd is the same time as hook respawn time.
Insted of the notification it could reveal auras of hooks around you for example or something hook related.

QnQ buff, sweet. Until the Killer uses Iron Maiden.

And the reaction from killer mains is rich. Not one person can say that aura reading is good for the game, and yet it's suddenly arms up in the air when the most used killer perk in the game has a minor, stealth-based counter perk.

Maybe they should've added another Exhaustion or second-chance/health state perk.

I still stand to my opinion that aura reading on both sides takes away a lot in a horror game.D
Doesnt change the fact that if you take away the BBQ aura reading, camping will be more common again

But that all is due to the core issue of everything, I think you are aware of what im talking about

And campers will be punished with lower pips, as the emblem design has intended.

Every change supposedly forces killers to camp even more (e.g. unhook changes that 'forces killer to camp') so I don't really buy that argument whatsoever.

I don't know if you camped with new anti camp changes to emblems but when I play basement leatherface the highest penalty I ever got was 4%. So if you get overalturistic survivors you get only benefits and no pnalties.

The killer perks are not that great to be honest.

But the survivor perks. Holy fking #########..

Breakdown? So they made an instant sabotage that punishes the killer for letting survivors escape? #########? So am I forced to bring along hangman's trick just to counter that? ######### on earth?

Then distortion? So basically my BBQ won't work for 3 hooks....#########....

Then what's the point of BBQ then? The BP farming with it is good but the main point is tracking survivors. Encourages me to leave and go find the others...

Ah whatever...have to see how great the killer's ability is first.

You will not see a single survivor perk go meta. They are all garbage. I remember the last 4 survivor releases everyone on the forum was like "this survivor perk is so OP, it's going to be so meta". Yet, no survivor perk over the last 4 releases has become meta.

I'd say alone none of these new survivor perks won't be meta BUT if everyone in SWF uses breakdown then you have a new meta perk.

Keep in mind, dear Survivors, that BBQ was added for you guys as an incentive for Killers to not camp, but instead go for someone else. If you keep hiding and the Killer won't see any Auras, many will assume that you swarm the Hook and will camp.

    It's a double-edged sword.

Well it's a counter they wanted, we'll see how they like it.

Well hello there dwight mains. Your time has come.

Also poor BBQ now has another counter. Well that's the kind of buffs to survivors I don't mind. Do you mind them my fellow killer mains ?

I dont have anything against strong stealth surivor perks.
What I dislike is that there isnt a single good killer perk.

Also you should be aware what happens when the killer doesnt see anyone on BBQ....

Maybe if we'll give enough feedback they may change killer perks to be at least a bit usefull. Right now only Iron maiden makes a little bit of sence with BBQ.

The meta survivor perks are gonna stay. Even when BT got it's "nerf" it just got stronger since it's a never ending second chance for the hooked survivor.

Even with the Aura nerf to BBQ, it still manageable but holy cow...breakdown? Hooks getting broke each time I hook someone?

Assuming I don't camp the ######### out of the survivor and go to hunt others. You are looking at 8 broken hooks in total. Average game about 15 to 20 minutes. Each hook 3 minutes to spawn. So you are at least 5 hooks down. If you really manage to maximise hooking each survivor twice.

That's basically the old sabotage perk back in a different shape and it was broken as hell when it existed back then. If breakdown is going to be as it is....then IG needs a serious buff to balance it out.

That's why we have PTB to test stuff and give feedback. We just need to play and see if it really is broken strong and if so then tell devs so that they can nerf it.

  • @kaister901 said:
With BBQ being the meta as it is. That is basically 3 hooks or 3 gens if you want to include rancor and bitter murmur. At least with BBQ ok , I still get BPs out of it. With Rancor and bitter. Their main purpose is to locate the survivors. So it's a huge nerf to them. Especially bitter. It's just 3 gens going off and the last 2 you get to see survivors near it.

I think rancor will still reveal them even inside lockers since it isn't aura reading but more like position reveal.

Actually these perks are pretty good for the game imao since anyone who uses them is purposefully not using DS,SC,DH,Adrenaline and so on. I'd be suprised if any of these make it to the meta.

Having to gain the Tokens on B&C by hooking at least everyone once removes some early camping, incentivizing not camping.
I honestly don't care about this change cause i have it for the auras (BP is nice ofc.), but you may encounter more camping if you apply your change.

I meant it to stay the same on token system but be passive so that people who really need BP can still use builds with perks they want and not be forced to equip BBQ or WGLF on every build just to make some decent BPs after each game.

  • You probably can't even notice how foolish those ideas of yours sound. You are trying to punish killers for using intended features.
How would you like getting downed for working on gen for more then 10s without taking 30s break to prevent you from gen rushing which is considered to be toxic. You probably wouldn't like it right.
Learn to live with camping and tunneling since they can only be discouraged which I agree with but you can't ever force people to not do them since they are part of the game as any toxic or annoying behaviour survivors can do legitimately.

  • I love Sinner's threads. They always manage to make me laugh.

  • Devs you're amazing. I hope all those people who call you greedy now see that just how well you treat your comunity.

If your experience is different from mine in past PTBs, i envy you.
I always get Mori spammers and BNP spammers.
I don't dislike either happening to me (especially Moris, they're a cool way to go out), but i can only tolerate so many in a row.

Except horrible wait times to get to a game I've had pretty good experience with PTBs but this time I won't be joining since there is pretty much nothing interesting for me there. Such a pity.

  • Very well said and yes it's true, nobody should ask for increasing the gen time insted we should either make other possible objectives that could potencially slow down the gens or give killers abilities that are able to preassure survivors.

  • I wouldn't mind SWF as much as I do now if we ever got Kill with a Friend mode whre you can kill with other killers eight survivors.

    Would be neat.

Is it me or is the new update favoring the Killers. One of the updates is once a generator is complete not only can the killer see the aura of the generator but can also see the aura of a survivor for 5 seconds. Seriously?!!!

The only time its impossible to survive is when all 3 other survivors DC at the beginning of the game.
I even managed to lose against a competent 2 man one day, that was a sad day.....

I disagree witht this statement since from my experience you can win even then. I admit it was around rank 8 so no top tier players by any means but still.
My teammates DCed on me at the start of the game yet I still managed to do 2 gens by myself thanks to my stealth build vs myers and escape.

There was a little bit of luck involved but there is always some hope left.

Despite what everyone here is saying, it’s NOT bannable.

You and the Feng weren’t teaming up at the start of the game or anything so it was completely unintentional.

Selling out your teammates isn’t bannable either because you guys are all working as INDIVIDUALS to get out.

Peanits cleared it up a few comments back. Selling others out isn't good and you probably shouldn't do it but if you do it for the sake of survival just sometimes then it's alright. Bannable is doing it just because you can.

  • Ask this for next Q&A session.

  • @Peanits said:
    It depends.

You're getting chased, you run by someone (intentional or not) and try to dump the killer on someone else so you can escape, that's not bannable.

You specifically try to get someone else killed just because, that's bannable.

The key is when your own survival comes into things. If you're doing it to escape, we're pretty forgiving. If you're going out of your way to get the killer to follow you and show them where other survivors are, that's not okay.

Either way, we review things on a case by case basis. If it's particularly egregious, action probably will be a taken.

Thank you this cleared it up very well.

    So story time incoming.

I was playing as a hag and managed to get 5 tokens on Devour hope. After I killed 2 survivors and 3 gens were left I managed to find a Feng and nodded at her that I'm coming for her. But she just stood there and pointed at me to follow her. I got interested in what she wanted so I didn't kill her right away and followed.
She led me to the hatch and pointed at it and started nodding. I understoond that she'll sell out the last survivor (Claudette) for the hatch to me. So I kept following and eventually she led me to her so I ate her and gave Feng the hatch. For me it was quite funny which is why I did it but as you might know Claudette was very unpleasent about it and reported Feng for it.

So any mods out there is it okay to sometimes sell out teammates for our own survival if that is our best bet to survive or we should never do it even if it happens in like 1 out of 100 games ?

Working together with the killer is indeed bannable.

I have one question though, why didnt you eat feng and try to catch claudette before she makes it to hatch?
The entity would be dissapointed in you....

I know that working with killer is bannable but for the sake of survival there might be exceptions otherwise all killers that give hatch for free could be considered farmers.

Also hey I'm the killer here so I lay out the rules :) . I can dominate teams sometimes and when that oppurtunity shows itself I can be mercyfull. I feel really good when I'm destroying survivors because I know that I can let them go If I desire so. Sometimes letting someone go is more enjoyable for me than killing them if I can squeeze more fun out of it that way.

You are employed by the entity. If not doing your job is enjoyable go ahead, but dont be surprised when you are fired

Haha I get it but don't worry I think my usual gameplay is filling entity enough survivor salt. These moments happen only from time to time that's why they are so funny.
