Ah, I see
I actually miss PC for stretched res. I would use it for Shadowborn. Idk if it makes me a scumbag or not, but I just did it for build variety on Nurse
I mean hey, to each their own. I used to use macros for flashlights but realized how much of an *sshole I was being so I eventually stopped lol

Oh, ok. So like an Nvidia card?
By the way, if you turn your quality to low in game you can see things a lot better.
Yeah, pretty much.
And I actively try to avoid playing on low since I personally think it creates an unfair advantage (for both yourself and your opponent) even if it's not against the rules; same goes with stretched res, etc.

They probably weren't in Dream, or it bugged out because I've tried to crouch over them countless times and it never works.

I've played on PS5 before, and yeah it's amazing.
And also even though I used to be on PC, I know nothing about them 😂
I got my stepdad to set it up and get DBD, and I just played, so idk what GPU is.
Also, thank you. This'll likely work
No problem man, I have faith in you :D
And if you wanted to know, a GPU stands for 'Graphics Processing Unit' and basically determines how good it can run graphics in games (whether that be low or ultra high). Without it, you more than likely couldn't play anything.
-
Around 5k, but I'll usually have under 2k as I always seem to spend them on bloodpoints..
..Why?.... I don't know. The only time I've ever had more shards than that was when I bought the shard-only skins (Mr. Puddles Clown & Demon Slayer Feng).
-
I can also vouch for Sony Direct, as both my friend and I got one within 2 days of trying (when they were dropping like hotcakes). I gave him my money since I wasn't home all day like he was and he managed to get in twice.
All you need is some sort of notification, whether that be from certain Twitter accounts, refresh bots or whatever telling you they're dropping. Then just hop onto the website (make sure your payment info is already saved) and you'll get put onto a wait-list for when it's your turn to buy it. Now I'm not 100% sure about this but I believe the website picks people at random rather than who got there first to partially solve the bot issue.
Apart from that though, I will say that PS5 DBD performance is 100x better than PS4 with it basically being night and day. There are still a few minor freezes every now and then though.
I hope you can upgrade so you can see for yourself! Good luck :p
Edit: Oh yeah, I wanted to mention that in my honest opinion, next-gen consoles are a whole lot easier to get than building yourself/ordering yourself a new PC. Mainly because the GPU demand is insane right now and I've been trying to build my PC for almost half a year now because of it. I'd say you made the right choice.

Make it to where Oni can just run through dropped pallets to break them while in Blood Fury.
Not a huge change, but a definite catch-up to survivors if they drop pallets too early.

Dwight:
- Crows no longer land on your locker when you've been inside it too long (instead, they hop in with you)
- Killers can no longer grab you out of a locker (instead, they are forced respect your privacy and wait for you to leave voluntarily)
- Dwight now has Quick 'n' Quiet, Inner Strength and Head-on perks in his base kit
- If in a locker for over 30 seconds, Dwight becomes capable of using whatever knives/hatchets he finds in the locker for the rest of the game
- If in a locker for over 5 minutes, Dwight instead finds Nemesis missing Rocket Launcher and can use it with unlimited ammunition.
Also:
- Add some rocket-powered flip-flops for Dwight to use as a free cosmetic
These flip-flops should obvious allow you to use Sprint Burst on demand when used, and permanently burn/injure the killer if they're in close proximity when used.
---
These are just some modest ideas that I think are needed to improve the quality of life of Dwight players. I'm personally debating if the rocket launcher is too much, but it's important to remember that this game needs one and Dwight is the worthiest of recipients to use it.
Other than that, I don't see any issue with the above recommendations.
Literally the best reply here. Dweet is a scared little bean and needs his alone time, so let him have it!

"As the moon rises, the wolves howl, marking the beginning of the hunt."
"Kick back and relax in the moonlight with an ice cold drink and some barbecued meat. The Entity has invited you to enjoy yourself this fine evening."
A daytime map was a very, VERY, bad idea.
Plus the name of the literal game is 'Dead By Daylight'.. inferring you're supposed to survive through the night and be dead by daylight lol.
I honestly think the map is pretty cool but without a night variant it shouldn't have been added. Stealth killers get f*cked over hard.

One of my favorite things in this game is Dweets, and that's because of how damn adorably cute they are.
I was playing Doctor and had really good addons (can't think of the names off the top of my head), and made this Dweet go into full insanity. He had the red glow and doctors appearing everywhere, which I could see. Well.. I watched him single-handedly run from the red glow and throw down pallets at imaginary doctors. He even tried to 360 one. Keep in mind, this was on an Autohaven map so I could see everything happening with him being out in the open. Never laughed so hard in my life.
Then you have the occasional let-me-get-into-a-locker-when-im-infected which is cute.

Yes, I do want you to edit your original reply. Most people aren't going to read an entire discussion thread that branches off into multiple conversations between the OP and individual users, plus among individual users themselves. If your goal wasn't to deceive, then it's a simple fix.
Cut my head off more, will ya?
The goal was to point out that it wasn't just me not having read the entire thread. Apparently, it didn't make my point clear enough, since you still blame me for not reading all the replies.
I figured since the thread wasn't long when I had corrected myself that I wouldn't have to edit my reply. It was a simple question that required a simple answer.
However, I just did. Hopefully that made you happy?

Killers not progressing the game by slugging all 4 and watching everyone bleed out (not trying to look for/hook anybody), bodyblocking other survivors into a corner, etc.
Slugging all the survivors and letting them bleed out is not holding the game hostage.

That is true. It isn't truly holding the game hostage as per the rules but by my own definition, if you're purposely making the game longer with aggressive intentions then it is holding the game hostage.

Either way you look at it though, the game being held hostage means the game never ends. I didn't actively hook anyone because I didn't want anyone to escape. Their bleedout timers make the game not going on indefinately, therefore it's not being held hostage. So what I did wasn't wrong then, reading the fine print of the rules.

That is sort of what I did because when a survivor was healing one that was downed, I downed them and chased the other, making the game go on pretty long. Deerstalker alerted me when survivors were being healed. Can you explain further?
Because slugging 4 survivors doesn't hold the game hostage. It just makes the game go on longer.
There's a difference between actively trying to down everybody and eventually hook them rather than downing everybody and watching them die. One is trying to secure a 4K (because you plan to hook) and one is dragging out the game longer than it has to be (standing over their body and watching them die).
-
Holding the game hostage is:
- Survivors not progressing the game by not doing generators, not activating the gate and instead hiding all game, bodyblocking other survivors into a corner, etc.
- Killers not progressing the game by slugging all 4 and watching everyone bleed out (not trying to look for/hook anybody), bodyblocking other survivors into a corner, etc.
You weren't holding the game hostage. Slugging is an important factor that can sometimes determine a win or loss. As long as you were actively trying to chase somebody else for the 4 instead of watching the survivors bleed out, you're fine.
Edit: Bold is personal opinion, since I'm still getting flack for it.

You can say that about any killer, even clown can be amazing for a really good player.
The player doesn't even have to be good, if they play Trickster a lot and get good map RNG then yeah they will probably dominate compared to the average player. It's all about skill, something that is learned with different killers.
Does that mean Trickster is good? Hell no, he's terrible but some players can make it work. DBD should be balanced around higher-level players after all.

Disagreed, I cannot fathom how many times there was 3 generators left but no one is doing the third one.
Then it ends up delaying the game too long and everyone is practically on their last hook.
Your "Team" is a wild card if your a solo survivor, you don't know what they know. Your teammates might 3 gen the match without realizing it.
If you play SWF you don't need it at all, Deja Vu is criminally underrated. Even Otz agrees about this.
Also this perk is a "Investment" strategy, each time you fix one of those generators you always will increase the distance between the closest generators. Which makes it harder for the killer to move between them.
With Visionary you can know where the gens are but you don't know if these generators are the closest together.
I understand where you're coming from but I couldn't ever see myself using this perk and I still think it's an absolute waste of a perk slot. Sure, your team isn't guaranteed to know if they're 3-genning or not but that's just one of the many disadvantages with solo queue.
-
1.) Sometimes it just happens if the survivors throw themselves at me or are all in the same area. Usually if it does, I'll hook 3 people and let the 4th one wiggle off and pretend I can't find them. Rinse repeat. Once everyone is on 2nd hook and the game still hasn't progressed, I'll usually end it if I don't feel like farming. Drags the game out too much, might let one have hatch.
Any other situation though such as keys or I'm getting gen-rushed to hell, it's a difference between a win or loss.
2.) I'd say it's pretty boring and I usually just whip out my phone and do whatever until I either bleed out or get put on hook.
I often think about why the killer feels the need to end the match with everyone having less than 10k bloodpoints. Same with survivors who end the game too quick. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth to say the least.
-
Unfortunately true for the majority, but I've actually went against some really good Tricksters that destroyed our team. Granted it was an open map and on some other realms he's absolute trash but, he has his moments.
Nonetheless though his "main event" is such a joke and pretty much gives the survivor a free escape since he's slowed down so much. I've found that he's only useful when he camps, and that's awful design.
-
As others have said, Wraith or Ghostface is definitely your pick here. If I were you, I'd slap Nurses Calling onto one of them because then you'll eventually start to get some value out of hit-and-run if all they're doing is healing. If not, one health state it is!
-
Deja Vu is so unbelievably bad and I don't remember if I've ever even used it in my 1.5k+ hours. It's just a weaker version of Visionary imo and advocates for not 3-genning yourself although you and your team wouldn't do that anyway if any of you had half a brain.
...and I can't forget to mention No Mither, because whenever someone puts on that perk the killer tunnels them out of the game because it's an easy kill. Oh yeah, they usually have the least amount of BP since they have to pretty much be stealth all game. Give me a break.

PC all the way. I do not understand why anyone would subject themselves to playing on a console/controller and that goes for most action games. It seems like a huge inconvenience in pretty much every way I can think of. I want to understand though - I'd like to hear people's reasons to play on console honestly.
There's 2 main reasons with them being budget and comfortability.
Budget: Self explanatory. A $500 console is going to outperform a $500 PC almost anyday while a PC with a higher budget in mind will obviously kick a console out of the water. The console is more bang for your buck in this case.
Comfortability: Playing games from your couch or bed is much more appealing than from hunched over in a chair. It's all about feeling good, you're playing videogames after all.
At the end of the day, there are a few exceptions and drawbacks. I don't enjoy the random FPS drops and no PTB but it is what it is. Looking forward to having the option of both PC and console.

You don't get it, no amount of intelligence will save you against a killer who needs you dead. Adapting will just delay the inevitable against a decent killer. Doesn't matter if it's stealth, chase, or whatever you think will help — it won't keep you alive against a smart killer who wants you dead. You're expecting a survivor who's only 1/4th as strong as the killer to survive 5 generators then escaping.
...And nope, read your mind, BT and DS won't save you because a killer who needs you dead will just throw the game by brute forcing their way past those perks.
There's only ONE thing that will work and it's completely RNG:
- Hope that you're facing an inexperienced killer, enough to allow you to keep outplaying them until your teammates open the gates for you.
Also, this isn't easy as you think because of bloodlust.
I'm arguing for survivors to at least get some kind of reward for keeping the killer occupied while on the hook. Emblems or Bloodpoints would satisfy, an incentive to feel like you're doing something for the team because right now — survivors don't have no reason to stay around besides helping their teammates. Heck, some survivors just suicide on the hook since all they are getting is the satisfaction of keeping their team alive; I don't even blame them, they are having a bad experience and don't have to stick around for the consequences since they will be in the next game. The game should give them compensation for being the person who took the bullet for the team — after all, they deserve it because they sacrificed their experience and themselves to keep their team alive by letting them do objectives and escape.
Don't get me wrong, if I'm going to die, at least give me something besides satisfaction. I won't suicide on hook because I'm just a nice person, but others aren't and it's completely understandable — I don't think anyone on this forum plays DBD just to sit on the hook for 2 minutes doing nothing. Just saying rewarding survivors who take bullet would be a great start, and would led to less hook suicides since they actually have a purpose other than satisfaction.
Couldn't have said it better myself.

Yeah they did, it’s called looping and not getting caught in the first place. Camping is crappy and stupid (real camping) but acting like the survivor “never had a chance” is just incorrect.
If a survivor was targeted all game and was eventually facecamped, then no they never had a chance to do gens or get altruism to pip.
And it doesn't matter if I decided to stealth it out because the first survivor who is caught whether it's me or them will get facecamped. Stop acting like you can go all game without getting caught.
-
@CluelessWanderer said:
Some of the people on this forum are just willfully ridiculous lol. Everyone knows there are facecampers out there who do it specifically to ruin the match for the survivors.
Just last night I was playing with my friend (we don't communicate, just add one another), I'm Rank 3, my friend is Rank 8- we have lives and are casual players, and my friend is the first to get caught and hooked. I mean it happens. The whole game is designed around the Killer being able to eventually catch survivors and hook them. It's a thing.
Killer was a hillbilly that commenced facecamping at 5 generators. Literally just stood there, looking around and waiting. My friend runs Kindred and it was absurd. So the rest of us did generators until my friend died on the hook. Then the Billy eventually gets another survivor, proceeds to facecamp again. The remaining two of us finish the gens and escape.
EVERYONE de-pipped. In red ranks, you do not safety pip for maxing out objectives and doing nothing else. Killer (Rank 5) ended up with 6k BP.
In the post match stats, Killer's name was quite literally " BringMeYourSalt". So he was obviously doing this on purpose, knowing it would be a miserable experience for everyone. I thinks it's dumb that we all de-pipped for that match, and I appreciate the two survivors hanging in there so two of us could get out. Usually in Solo queue they would simply hook suicide/ dc. But there should be something in place that grants BP for that.
This. I don't understand how somebody can think this isn't a problem. Clearly there are many people that don't though because I've definitely gotten backlash from this post lol
