You mean Legion?
I think you made a typo. Surely you meant Trickster.

I'd definitely recommend Oni. He's a killer that can compete with high ranks while still being fun. However, he does take a bit of patience to practice with so keep that in mind☺

The best way to discourage facecamping, is something Tru3 said some time ago.
I don't know exactly how he said it but it was somewhere around these lines.
"reward the killer more when he hooks different survivors aka fresh hooks.
If the killer goes for the unhooked person then give him less points, or maybe no points for that hook at all"
Again I can't remember his exact words, but it was something like that.
And personally I would look at the time it took for you to get hooked as survivor.
Like did you get found and downed by the killer withing say maybe 2 minutes or something and you die on you first hook because the killer is facecamping you?
Than safe pip
Do you run the killer for say 5 gens or longer than a X amount of time, then be judged accordingly to what you have done before and during that time.
That's the thing, I don't think this change would help much because if the killer is doing it from the start of the match then they are just doing it to ruin somebody's day, therefore more or less blood points wouldn't affect anything since they probably don't care if they de-pip anyways.
-
@Seraphor said:
To be fair, I do think survivors on the hook should get some kind of 'distraction bonus' when other survivors complete gens.
Something like 500 BP whenever a generator is repaired while you are hooked.
That way you're not entirely cheated out of objective points if you spend the whole match engaging the killer in a chase.
That'd be perfect.

You didn’t do enough beforehand. Which means you’re probably not doing enough to avoid detection at the beginning of a match. Play a bit more cautiously.
Sure, that's a temporary solution, but I still think it should be addressed.
-
I got facecamped 5 times today (1 was a few games ago) and I wonder if it was for the same reason as they kept hitting me on hook as well. Not sure if it was aimed at the charm though.
I can't believe there's people out there like that. I never would've thought that would be a reason why someone was targeted out of the game until I seen this post. Wow.
-
Why hasn't anybody said shirtless Myers yet..?
No but seriously, I think Demo in a puppy costume would be the cutest thing ever, since he's formerly known as Demodog, right?

"It shouldn't matter if I loop them all game. If I'm getting facecamped until I die whether it's on 1 gen or 5, they are stopping me from playing the game."
You've played the game! You got caught, you lost.
The actual post was about facecamping. Sure, you replied to a reply about looping. But the original argument was about facecamping.
I'm mainly talking about average matches where, you know, you might loop the killer for 2 gens and not all 5 unless they're dog-crap or you're just a god at the game.

So what was that 10 minute chase that allowed the other survivors to complete the objective? Is that not the game too?
Do you just want to hide in a bush until the exit opens and claim you won by playing stealthy?
I'm not talking about looping. I'm talking about being facecamped.

You loop the killer for 5 gens and you will definitely safety pip.
You're looping the killer for 5 gens and you're thinking... the killer is... stopping you from playing the game?
So you think this is a hold R1/M1 simulator?
It shouldn't matter if I loop them all game. If I'm getting facecamped until I die whether it's on 1 gen or 5, they are stopping me from playing the game.

I can tell you with absolute certainty that when you run the killer for 5 gens, you will not depip mate.
Been there done that, have ran killers for 5 gens and died on my 1st or 2nd hook and still safety pipped or pipped.
Killers will only safety pip when all survivor escape if they have enough hooks.
If you have less then 9 hooks as killer than you will depip.
If you kill or insta down every survivor you will depip, and on rare occasions you safety pip.
😉
As mentioned in my other reply to someone else, I understand there are other problems such as killers de-pipping for doing their literal objective too fast. Both sides need fixing regarding issues like this.
I can assure you that I almost always de-pip when I run the killer around all game considering I didn't fulfill any of the other categories. It shouldn't even matter if I ran the killer for 5 gens because even if it was 1, it's still a problem.
-
@El_Gingero said:
The pip system if highly flawed. You can easily de-pip despite successfully escaping whilst significantly outperforming your team. I don’t think any other game punishes players for performing well and successfully achieving the end goal.
I agree. This game can also punish killers for doing their literal goal, killing, if the game thinks it's too early to end it. Isn't that the stupidest thing ever?

You can't get chased the entire match. You literally start the game as far away as possible from the killer and right next to a gen. There are plenty of times in which you're not gonna be chased, and if you're being chased, then why couldn't you lose the killer? pass him around to another survivor? hide in a locker or something?
If killers are tunneling you so much then why not use lucky break + iron will and other perks to lose the killer? or spine chill so you avoid the killer the whole match?
You shouldn't have to have perks to avoid this type of thing. This goes for both sides. Survivors shouldn't have to have Iron Will and Lucky Break and killers shouldn't have to have Ruin or Pop to slow down gens. There is many problems in this game regarding both sides and need to be addressed instead of swiped under the rug.

"There is no advantage as the killer just de-pips from doing that anyway."
You're assuming that killer counts a pip as a win or de-pip as a loss.
Although now that you mention piping, would getting camped also lower your MMR whenever that comes out? If yes ouch.
A possible solution would be to rate the survivors as a team rather than the individual since, you know, they're a team lol. Then even if you're camped you can safety or whatever with the time you buy your teammates. If that applies to BP as well as it would help in that department. Might also help with those that just try to sacrifice themselves if they even think they might be getting camped.
I completely agree with you. Finally a solution!
I don't understand why DBD hasn't done this yet considering other team games have this sort of system implemented and you'd think it would be the same here.

If you have such an easy time getting a decent amount of hooks as killer why do you have such a hard time touching at least 1 gen, doing 1 unhook and running from the killer for at least 30 seconds? It's not that hard to get a safety pip as survivor.
This shows that you don't play survivor because if you're getting chased the entire match then you clearly can't do any of that. Come on dude.

You're being such an hypocrite. So if I don't feel like tryharding and being in 4 places at once I deserve to have the match end in 2 minutes and get tbagged at the gates? Meanwhile you can't loop even if your life depended on it and it's because of the evil camper? You could always try to learn how to loop, use pallets, vaults and hide so the killer won't caught you and camp you.
It doesn't matter if I loop the killer for 5 gens, I will still de-pip. Killers don't have someone constantly holding them back from playing the game and almost always will safety pip every game even if all 4 survivors escape. There's a difference.
And I do agree on gen speeds being wack. I hate playing killer because of it.

Hillbilly was the first killer I ever played because he reminded me of Bubba. Found out Bubba was a DLC like a week later and bought him the same day :p

Becuse you got caught and killer used that advantage ?
There is no advantage as the killer just de-pips from doing that anyway. The only reason why someone would do that is to ruin somebody else's day, and if you don't see a problem with that then I don't know what to say.
Hey that rhymed.
-
@Orion said:
Because you didn't do enough to pip. Killers who camp also depip, if survivors rush the gens. Why should you get a safety pip because of how you lost or how quickly you lost?
There's a difference between survivors rushing gens and being camped on hook.
If the killer couldn't stop the gens quick enough then that's their fault. Blame the devs for the gen speeds even, but a survivor being camped never had a chance in the first place.

Was running away from a Deathslinger and I remember turning around and laughing at him. Next thing I know, I run into him and fall down.
I started crawling away until he put his boot on my chest. I remember looking at him with a playful smile until he aimed down his Speargun, that's when it hit me that he was actually going to kill me.
I guess he could see the fear in my eyes because that's when he was the one who laughed and walked away. Very weird🤷🏼♀️
-
Definitely a rank 2-3 survivor as I know how to line up tiles and waste a lot of the killers time although I do sometimes play a lot worse than I should.
Otherwise I'm probably a purple rank killer, I'd say about 6. I know a lot of tips and tricks as well as predicting survivor movement but when it comes to SWFs, certain killers (Billy ;-;) and getting tilted.. I'm not very efficient.
Given that I play survivor 90% of the time, it makes sense.
-
I think Spirit is one of the most infuriating killers to play against given she has little counterplay and is constantly used.
Because of this, I bought her atleast 1 year ago for Adam and.. haven't played her until now because of how miserable she is to play against. Absolute easy mode unless the entire team has Iron Will, and even then you can usually know where they are depending if you see scratch marks or not.
-
1. I tend to lean towards playing survivor more as gameplay feels more laid back when compared to killer, although I do play killer a few times a week.
2. 99% of the time I'm a good sport and tend to only BM if the killer/and or survivors have continously been doing it throughout the entire match. Taste of their own medicine, yknow? With that being said, I never send anybody messages in an angry mindset/mood.
3. As much as I hate the grind, it's addicting and I do feel the need to prestige as it makes me feel like I'll always have a goal in this game since P3 all perks on everybody probably takes a billion hours.
4. When I play survivor I tend to get tilted over my teammates more than anything. As killer, I'm always on edge so I'm more prone to getting frustrated especially when it comes to BMers.
5. Love cosmetics as I'm one of those people who constantly has to either switch outfits or switch survivors in order to stay interested because I eventually get bored with the same combination. I mean.. have you seen that new summer skin for Dwight?

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2191695#Comment_2191695
If it were gnome farming, I'd definitely have understood. This was 3 games, in a row, of slugging me at 4-5 gens left, and then camping my slug. If teammates try to pick me up, they down them and keep watching my body, if I did get picked up, I don't use exhaustion perks so making it to an area where I could keep running was difficult. 3 games in a row, the first 2 for flashlight saves, the last for a pallet save.
I don't like using exhaustion perks, and I don't like running UB/SG because games like this only happen a few times a week, and oftentimes strategic slugging is a necessary tactic to win, so I don't want to just deny a win with unbreakable, it doesn't feel right when it happens to me. I only try to play in ways that I wouldn't have a problem facing when I'm playing the opposing role.
And it might be a valid tactic to kill someone out of the game in a rather unpleasant fashion, but my point still stands that there is absolutely nothing a survivor can do that equates to how that feels. Survivors simply don't have that power and cannot make games feel that bad.
I'm not reading all that
I find it hilarious that you posted on a forum, obviously seeking responses, just to blow someone off because their reply was more than 2 sentences.

It's not even just internet lag that'll lose you the game, but actual lag itself as well from consoles/low end PCs. There's been so many times I was about to get a down and Bloodlust kicks in, freezing my game.

Honestly for me, it seems like everybody plays like they're a rank below what they actually are. Red ranks play like purples, purples play like greens and greens play like brown ranks. The only exception is SWFs.

They're very forgettable & I tend to only equip charms once and never come back to switch em up unless I'm bored out of my mind in lobby queues.
Though I will say, I was kinda devastated when I didn't get the Mr. Puddles charm. Cute lil bugger.
-
You never mentioned what rank you were, because even though it doesn't matter entirely, it can mean the difference between a win or a loss with red rank survivors being the prime example.

I'd definitely have to say Spirit, Huntress & Legion because they're so god damn annoying. Huntress has ridiculous hitboxes, Spirit needs a nerf & Legion won't ever leave you alone.

As a huge Saw fan, this would be one of the best additions to the game imo. Wouldn't mind being on the edge of my seat bopping to it.
With that being said, Pig is a joke & her traps are not intimidating at all so having a little bit of an intense theme wouldn't hurt. Extra points if it syncs up to end when your head pops.

Its only 12 seconds so as long as they aren't next to an exit gate you can get them down again.
But even in the blue moon when they are next to an exit gate it's okay to get out perked every now and again. I'm sure when survivors out play the killer all game to get hit and one hooked because of noed they find it annoying, or if they avoid a killer all match who has devour hope just to get insta downed and moried without even being hooked doesn't seem fair either.
If we change things because in one situation it seems unfair then we're opening up a whole can of worms in regards to numerous perks and play styles in the game.
While I can agree with that, I see atleast 1 BT every single match & run it myself 95% of the time, compared to NOED which is rarely seen in red ranks. It's more than just "every now and again".
To be fair though, a lot of perks need to be changed in some way like you said.
-
Oh man do I know how you feel, the classic red rank experience.
Maybe I can give a few tips to help:
- Priority: When it comes down to chasing someone and they're looping properly, don't continue the chase, especially if it's at god loops such as Shack. The ones that are t-bagging & flashlight clicking are trying to get your attention, don't give it to them.
- Don't play nice: Going off of my first tip, if the whole team loops decent as you mentioned, slug slug slug & bet your *ss you're going to tunnel the weakest looper out of the game. If they aren't playing nice & are trying to rush the game as fast as possible, grant them their wish and send them back to the lobby with a de-pip.
- 3 gen: This is probably the best tip I could give you, always make a 3-gen at the beginning of the game just incase the match goes sour. This doesn't mean you have to camp that side of the map, but prioritize checking those gens over anything else. Once the survivors realize they've f*cked up, it's all over for them.
- Playstyle: I know you've already bought a few DLC killers & have gotten the same result, but please believe me when I say you'll eventually find a killer you're consistent with. I would honestly just play the killer you like the most that way the more you practice with them, the more ins and outs you'll learn when playing them. Though I will say.. if you're going against red rank survivors, I wouldn't recommend playing killers that don't have map pressure.. stick to killers like Oni, Spirit & Blight who can interrupt gens.
Other than that, just try not to take it personally. If you told me what killer you've been playing the most, maybe I'd be able to give you specific tips for said killer, but other than that, this is all I can say.
-
@Kirkylad said:

Not at all, it's 12 seconds so if you do hit someone with it then it does what it's suppose to do and help against tunnelling.
Besides it's easily countered, multiple times a survivor has spun in front of me trying to get me to hit them and I've just counted down and then downed and hooked them and now they're dead and I'm in for an easy win. BT is a fair perk that's easily countered by an experienced killer.
Okay, let me put it this way: Sure, BT is fine early-mid game, but if it's endgame and you're trying to down the unhooker, there's literally nothing you can do if somebody with BT is bodyblocking you. The whole "count down" argument only works under certain circumstances because most of the time you're either escorting them to the exit gates or you're forced to hit them and give them a Sprint Burst away. It's not fair at all.
Just make no-collision an endgame thing, that way killers can play around it by trying to get a hit before they can tap the gate assuming it isn't already open.

Of course it is, just like the smartest play as killer will be to target a weak link if you want to win. There's things on both sides that aren't fun to go against, however it doesn't mean it's not the most efficient and smart thing to do.
Just because it's efficient doesn't mean it's necessarily fair. Despite the DS nerf taking so long, the devs did it because survivors had 60 seconds of invincibility and punished killers who weren't tunneling. The same could be said for BT.
-
@Kirkylad said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2175902#Comment_2175902
The answer if no they shouldn't, you can't punish a survivor for making a smart play. You as the killer has to play smarter, by either going around them because you are faster, waiting out the timer, or grabbing them because bt doesn't work on grabs.
You also shouldn't be able to punish a killer that is actively trying to avoid tunneling. While I agree bodyblocking with BT is a good play, that isn't a very good argument.

Build:
Survivor: feng
Perks: Visionary bond Windows and Object
Why: Aura god :D
Alright, here's my update..
Match #1: This match was wack. Had a Wraith on Hawkins & got my *ss kicked after I decided to burn him. I guess Wraiths don't like that.. eh? Anyhow, everyone ended up dying except for the Nea who got hatch, so there's that.
Oh yeah, cat was in my way the entire game. You could tell she too, was traumatized by this sh*tshow.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Match #2: Since I had a Wraith last game, I decided to try this build once again since Object was practically useless. This time it was against a tunnel-vision Spirit who hated Quentin (they're already a rare species.. why are you trying to make them go extinct?) Unfortunately enough, you can bet that Haunted Grounds was used on me & I was the obsession (Rancor).. oh joy. Made it out though.

Imma do this on my Laurie since she has all perks, wish me luck :^)

Ooo.. sounds fun.
I'll provide both a survivor & killer build for those that prefer one side over the other.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Killer: Oni
Perks: Nurses Calling, Sloppy Butcher, 2 perks of your choice (I'd suggest Thana and gen defense)
Addons: Bloody Glove & Splintered Hull
Offering: Hawkins
Purpose: Similar to jumpscare Myers but.. more ferocious. Don't active your power & keep survivors injured at all costs to enjoy your sweet sweet wall hacks.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Survivor: Dweet
Perks: Inner Strength, Spine Chill, Urban Evasion & Sprint Burst
Item: Rainbow Map (for totems)
Offering: Vigo's Shroud
Purpose: Poor little Dweet, scared out of his mind. He may be cute, but he's also a selfish prick that lives in lockers the entire match. Live up to your stereotype!
-
Let's just put it like this:
- If I wear headphones as survivor, I can potentially hear the footsteps of Ghostface or the heavy breathing of both Michael & Pig. Definitely saves myself from getting jumpscared.
- If I wear headphones as killer, I can hear survivor breathing and footsteps as well as determine if they already left the loop or are hiding in the nearest bush.
Headphones are a definite advantage and while it may be more useful when playing killer rather than survivor, they do make a difference and I play slightly better with them.
