  • Considering how DBD is made out of spaghetti code, I don't see this happening although it'd be a real nice idea if the killer could morph into a survivor & trick the others.

I'd say always prioritise your health. If you need to quit a match for health reasons then that's completely legitimate in my eyes.

I'm not too familiar with epilepsy although a few things come to mind that might help to reduce your risk and let you play the game more comfortably:

    • Dodge survivors who have flashlights in the lobby.
    • Run Franklin's Demise to make sure that any flashlights that do make their way into the game are dropped.
    • Running Lightborn will stop you from being blinded.
    • Overwhelming Presence, Hoarder etc and other such perks that make items less appealing to survivors.

I don't know your personal situation although I think the best advice on this would come from a medical professional. They may very well have been asked something similar before and have some work-arounds to help you.

This is probably my favorite response here. Instead of telling the poor guy to quit a game he likes, you offer him advice instead with the best one being to dodge lobbies with flashlights.

  • I've been trying to play it more often but noticed that I just don't really have the motivation anymore. As others have said, I still play it but just not nearly as much as I used to.

I have so much respect for streamers that are pretty much DBD-only because I'd definitely go insane.

EXACTLY. DS was both supposed to be Anti-Tunnel perk, and limited protection for a survivor. The DS nerf basically makes it USELESS. Here are situations.

    1. KILLER ASSUMES survivor has DS: Im just going to slug and wait it out.
    2. KILLER pick ups survivor with DS : At least he has no DS anymore.
    3. KILLER sees survivor on BBQ chili working on GEN : im going to tunnel the fvck out of him.

    How about on survivor side.

    1. Its DO OR DIE situation. either you do an objective or lose LIMITED protection.

Even in the OLD DS, KILLER does the same thing. so i dont see the reason DS needs a nerf. Decisive Strike is a good meta for survivor perk. Just like UNDYING, RUIN, BBQ and CHILI.

It isn't about the killer slugging, and it isn't about the killer eating DS on purpose. Killers will still do that, with or without the nerf. The real reason why it was nerfed was because even if the killer hooked 2 people back to back before they found you, they'd still get punished by DS despite not tunneling AT ALL which could ultimately end up costing them the game for no reason.

Doing the objective so EVERYBODY, or as many as possible can escape, is NOT being selfish.

Never said they were doing gens, because most of the time they're crouching behind rocks while I'M the only one doing gens, hence why I get punished for it with death hook.

But even if we were to go off of what you just implied, if my team was stuck to gens and took no blame for when it comes to chases, it's definitely being selfish. This is a team game, and letting your teammates die when you could've done something just so YOU can escape is the exact opposite of why you made this post.

It's the same thing when your teammates let you hit 2nd hook or even let you die on hook because they're stuck to gens -- it's infuriating.

  • lmaoo yeahh lets not talk abt that

  • I'm going to counter point 1 & 2 here by saying if I'm on death hook & nobody else is, I'm out for blood and will do everything in my power to get my team to stop being selfish and take a hit/down.

I don't believe it till I see it!

    Still more tricksters than twins

Now that you mention it, I haven't seen a single Twins profile pic ever since I found out about the forums. Wow.

  • I completely agree. The music, the animation, everything. Probably one of the best things from this chapter lol

If I'm able to bop my head to Oni's theme then I should be able to do the same for Trickster.

  • @BioX said:

    its not, stop being silly

You don't speak for somebody else's experience. I personally haven't seen a killer tunnel more than 1 game today but that could be different for others.

  • He's just about the worst killer in the game right now & is in a desperate need of buffs -- but reducing his knives damage to 4 is a terrible idea. Here's why:

    • His knives aren't hard to hit in open areas and can down you almost instantaneously. Reducing the number will just turn him into a ranged Bubba.

Now you may ask, how do we buff him then? I personally don't know the best way to do it, but I might have a few ideas:

    • As you mentioned, turn down the recoil a smudge. I don't see them removing it entirely for the fact being he throws many knives at once compared to Huntress who only throws one hatchet at a time.
    • His Main Event is extremely underwhelming. Instead of slowing him down to a handicap, it should speed him up. There's no point in using it unless the survivors get caught with their pants down in an open field considering they can easily loop it out.

I still think he should stay as a 110% movement killer as well as keep his slowdown when he brings out his knives. That way while he stays similar to other killers such as Huntress, his own damn power doesn't discourage him.

  • @Yords said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2062027#Comment_2062027

Maybe actually now that I look at it more, his ability in tiles can be very easily countered by any good survivor almost completely and be disabled, not to mention how when he holds up his knives he loses distance on them. He is also a 110% killer which is a big deal. Wow, what a poorly designed killer.

It's an unfortunate truth. The only way I can see him being viable is if he M1s first and then uses his power to down you, but even then he's still handicapped.

  • @Yords said:

Clown is still weaker, at least Trickster has some lethality on loops with gaps.

Going to have to agree with everybody else here and say Clown is a million times better than Trickster for obvious reasons. Here's why:

    • Main point: Clown gets an early pallet drop and can either break it or use his bottles to get a hit looping around it. He can also prevent survivors from holding W after a pallet drop with his bottles, slowing them down in the process. Trickster on the other hand usually doesn't get an early pallet drop and has to deal with survivors either looping him around it with his 110% movement speed or dropping it early and crouching behind objects as well as just running away entirely with no slowdown compared to Clown.
    • Extras: Clown has a reload on him while Trickster has to actively search for a locker. Not to mention, most people can dodge Tricksters knives even in an open area compared to Clown, whos power is much harder to dodge and can actually be used to push survivors into a deadzone.

Both of these killers lack one thing -- mobility. Even with Clowns new bottles, I'd say he's just as weak as Trickster when it comes down to it. With that being said, they need to be superior in chase, and there's no doubt in my mind that Clown will down somebody much faster than Trickster.

  • @georhan369 said:

I'll be honest, Trickster AKA: The Joke, is as fun as sawing off your own fingers. In fact that would probably bring me more joy. He needs major buffs or to be reworked like the maps.

lol I love how blunt you are

  • As much as it would be fun to completely demolish them just to see their reaction on stream, I consider it extremely overkill considering most TTVs aren't too special anyways.

If anything changes in my gameplay, it's that I try harder to win. If the chat is going to make a mockery out of me, I'd want it to be because of my actual mistakes rather than it being just because I was playing chill.

  • Exhaustion perks are just fine considering they're counterable. After the survivor uses it once, there's no surprise to it anymore.

If anything, some don't even work half the time *coughcoughDeadHardcough*

  • You've already brought a key, now you need directions to the hatch? Seriously? Talk about no counterplay whatsoever for the killer.

(I've never seen this offering burned without a key in the lobby which is why I made this assumption)

If i see a swf using full meta and gen rushing i would consider that toxic, that isn't a fun game to play and im assuming it probably wasn't very fun for them either. Same thing with killer who tunnel and camp to kill one guy early as that is forcing them to depip and isn't fun at all for anyone other than the killer if they are into that.

As for long chases no it isn't toxic to last that long the killer needs to know if they should cut the chase if the survivor is good and reaches tiles that connect to each other, i also don't think it's that toxic to camp that survivor either as they have accepted the loss to kill the one that they were not good enough to get plus that survivor probably safety pipped.

For tunneling if the killer found the same survivor a minute or so after that isn't tunneling and the killer at least in high ranks can't let them go as they need pressure but if they ignored other survivors for that person I would categorize that as trying to get an early kill.

other people can disagree with me that's fine we all have our own thoughts on what is what in this game.

I agree. If it's in the game, people are going to use it, but at that point I feel like you're just actively trying to end the game as quick as possible and make it the least amount of fun for the other side.

Ooh a perk that literally gives us a one time stun becomes even more useless lets post about it using titles such as "tick tock tick tock Decisive nerf is coming" or "no longer can survivors rely on a broken perk to give them yet another second chance" all this nerf has done had piss off the ones who do use it and piss off others that have to read this trash on the forum

While I understand your frustration as those titles are solely made for the purpose to bait other people, the DS nerf is well deserved my friend. It's more than just a "one time stun".

You know I'm right tho killers have been rubbing this DS nerf in our faces for too long there's making a post to discuss then there's adding insult to injury

I actually don't think you're right, and even if you were, DS has been being abused for a few years now compared to Undying who got a nerf in only a few months.

There's a big difference between the 2 and I can see why the DS nerf might've caused more excitement since it took so damn long.

  • This is a forum where topics are left open to discussion, it has almost nothing to do with being toxic. I've seen both Undying and DS get brought up immensely on the forums, with both sides whining.

Stop dividing people up and saying one side is more toxic blah blah. Not to mention, a lot of people that play killer want things like Spirit to be nerfed anyways because it doesn't take much to realize she's unfair.

I forgot to say that you shouldn't use it all the time, but I think it is something that Oni players should take advantage of. Using it on an already injured survivor is still great, that is an easy down you can get and of course, it would be better to save it for a healthy one, I just wanted to make it clear that you can still use it against injured survivors but use it more sparingly when doing so. Basically, using your power on an injured survivor is useful, but you must be a bit more decisive and thoughtful about it and relly only use it if necessary.

If you are up against good survivors who happen to be injured, I would use my power. It is hard to say without clear video evidence of how well this works, so for now I will just leave it up to that we are just having different experiences.

It depends on the strength of the map you're on or not. On a map like lery's, yeah just drop the chase. But on a map like the farm maps? It would help to use it on the injured survivor.

I agree with you now that you put it that way. Definitely a strat you could use but shouldn't be something you do by impulse. If you have an opportunity because they're running in the open cornfield, by all means go ahead.

  • @Yords said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2057201#Comment_2057201

Clown is very low because he is still the worst killer in the game, his 1v1 can be strong... against decent or average survivors. Otherwise, survivors drop pallets early and run away.

Pig is low because her ambush attack is so very weak. It is way too predictable and isn't that great most of the time. Her traps are also very RNG reliant.

Huntress feels right to me, I had the pleasure of playing against a really good one twice last night, she was hitting crazy shots left and right and definitely deserves a spot in the A tier.

Doctor is decent but just very mid-tier. Nothing really special about him other than his shock abilities that do give information, but he is significantly weaker when against survivors who know when to just hold m1. He gets a lot of info, but can't go crazy with it, he is still an m1 killer who can be dealt with.

lol Billy F tier is not something I agree with in the slightest but ok.

Just my own experience whenever I play against a Billy, they always end up being survivor chew toys lmao.

Anyways, while I agree that Clown doesn't have much to work with considering his kit doesn't help in the slightest when it comes to map pressure (even with his new bottles), I don't think that alone makes him deserve D tier. He's a killer that can end chases within seconds and if on a small map, can dominate. Putting him next to Trickster is insanely wrong (I consider Trickster the worst killer in the game as of rn).

You've hit the nail on the head with Pig although her traps aren't completely useless because while they're RNG reliant and probably won't kill anyone competent, they will still slow the game down and get survivor(s) off of gens in the meantime. That's a huge advantage considering how good she can be with gen defense perks.

As for Huntress, there are the god tier players out there that put what I'm about to say to shame, but for an average player, she's very "bait-reliant". If the survivors have half a brain and know what they're doing in terms of not bolting into a window first thing, Huntress will have a hard time considering she has to predict what they'll do, as well as manage how many hatchets she has for when she does miss.

I feel like Doctor can play windows & pallets better than Huntress simply because his shock can hit through objects and stop survivors way before a Huntress can take out her hatchet and throw. Sure the survivors can hold W, but by doing so they're leaving their loop which can potentionally get you a hit if they don't have another lined up straight away. Even if they do, just be prepared to shock away.

  • Hm. These tips are great in most situations but I disagree on the first one.

Oni is all about management, particularly power management. Given he has to rely on survivor mistakes to obtain his power, using it willy nilly isn't always the best idea unless the survivors are complete potatoes.

With that being said, unless the game is already in your favor and/or you have perks like Infectious to start a snowball, using an impulse Blood Fury on an injured survivor could potentionally be total waste of your power considering they could definitely exploit it at loops which is mentioned as your 2nd point.

In my honest opinion, if you feel the need to use Blood Fury on an injured, you should probably drop the chase anyways because that means they've got heavy distance on you and are already across the map.

  • Damn right! 10x better than Scoops Ahoy Steve.

  • Decent tier list. Dunno why Clown & Pig are that low but to each their own since I consider Billy F tier.

I'd probably switch Doctor and Huntress as well.

  • Survivor Cosmetics.jpg

This is my survivor combinations from like a month ago, still pretty much the same. Couldn't do killer because I'm not on the game atm.

  • Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) was an amazing remake imo. Definitely one of the scarier Leatherfaces from all of the movies.

  • As much as I like the idea of people having off-meta builds..

I paid for the majority of those perks. You can't just take them away like that.

  • Even after the "buff" they gave him, I'd say he's still low tier considering they also took away one of his best addons -- exhaustion.

He's amazing in chase but lacks in mobility even with his new bottles. I feel like the devs definitely took the easy way out and gave him a small speed boost instead of a full rework, or something similar.

  • chefskiss.jpg

Billy is perfectly viable. I 4k with him all the time. I've been trying out the new crack billy recently and I really like it.

I'm waiting for the day a good Billy comes along and kicks my *ss, but until then, he'll stay where I put him.

  • I just looked at it. I don't know if I should feel disappointment because you've abandoned your wifey or happiness because you dropped an unfair killer.

  • Woah, never thought I'd see the day where you'd put somebody over Spirit.

  • Boosting is defined as a player who is getting help to get placed in a high-skill rank even if they don't deserve it. Since you were basically working with the killer by farming (even if you didn't intend it), it makes sense as to why your teammates would get angry considering that's how a lot of potatoes end up in red ranks since you'll most likely end up pipping.

Oh GOD. Why do killer mains feel so attacked whenever BBQ is even mentioned?!

    Listen, buddy.

You just gave a pass for killers saying "oh, if you don't realize BBQ is there by the endgame, you dumb"

and yet, you dumb down DS as an undeserving perk that is abusive towards killers only.

Did you hear me say: "oh, if you don't realize that survivors carry DS, you dumb" from my mouth? Hypocrisy at it's finest people.

I get that you are a killer main and you understand more of the killer's side than the counterpart's, but come on. Stick to the topic will you?

Also, when have I ever compared the two?

    Did I say: "A is better/worse than B..."? Wut?!

Here, read this again: What I DID say was that it's wrong to think he DESERVED both hooks when one of them was allowed by a perk (BBQ) that was countered by another perk (DS).

This is regarding KILLS not about perks. He was given fresh information about a survivor's whereabouts thanks to a perk (which the OP also agreed on) and decided to go for the kill. The survivor used DS as a mean to get a free escape from that free information. What's so hard to comprehend?

The OP took the risk to go after a survivor that was revealed thanks to BBQ. If he never did that, thing's wouldn't have turned out this way in the first place.

And finally: "He deserved those kills but instead got punished for it"

    🤣

You are making me laugh so hard. The entitlement is off the roof with this one.

Jeez, the aggro in this reply is amusing. We're just debating a topic, no need to be so snarky.

Let me just put this on the table: I'm not a killer main nor have I ever been a killer main. Playing killer is miserable so I don't even bother much anymore. Don't know if you got that idea because I'm standing up for killers or because I like Oni and have him as my profile pic. Either way, it's bold of you to assume.

Anyways, I'm so sorry that you got offended when I said you're stupid if you don't realize the killer has BBQ. The same could be said if you're a killer and don't realize survivors have Dead Hard, Borrowed Time, whatever. If you don't take the chance of countering a perk after you know the other side has it, that's your fault and your fault only.

Oh yeah, you did compare both perks, even if it wasn't as spelled out as "A is better/worse than B". You said "You used BBQ (a popular killer perk) to track down a free kill and yet you're not happy with them using a survivor perk to get a free escape?", which is comparing both perks to giving a free escape/kill. That isn't the case when one was deserved and one wasn't.

A killer getting hit by DS when he wasn't tunneling is different from a survivor getting a 50/50 chance of getting found and downed. The survivors can counter BBQ whether they hide or get caught and win the chase, unlike DS where you're supposed to guess as to whether or not the survivor still has it despite not tunneling. You won't be able to change my mind on this my friend.

  • @Kolossoni said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2055080#Comment_2055080

Lol, what dumb logic you got there.

BBQ allows free kills, not that it guarantees any. You see the difference? Survivor won't know you have BBQ and thus they won't make strategic moves against it, hence giving an upper hand for killers in the OP's situation.

Second, DS also takes "skill" according to your dumb logic. DS requires a "skill" check that you must succeed as well as another "chase" that ensues right after (You hear my sarcasm?). You fail to do any of those, you die once more.

I never said he didn't deserve ANY kills. I specifically mentioned that getting 1 survivor out of 2 hooks is not bad especially at endgame.

What I DID say was that it's wrong to think he DESERVED both hooks when one of them was allowed by a perk (BBQ) that was countered by another perk (DS).

    You learn something everyday baby!

If the survivors don't know a killer has BBQ by the endgame, they are stupid. Sorry to break it to you, but if the killer hooks somebody and comes to your exact position, it's obvious. You must be playing in low MMR if you think the survivors won't be able to counter it.

Moving on.. never once did I imply that DS was skill-based lol. A killer hunting down a survivor with BBQ only to win the chase is different from a survivor not being tunneled, losing the chase and punishing the killer for it with an undeserved DS. Comparing the two makes no sense since one was deserved and one wasn't.

I also find it funny that you think DS was countering BBQ when in actuality it was just giving an unfair escape considering the killer wasn't tunneling, hence why DS is being nerfed in the first place. He deserved those kills but instead got punished for it, that isn't "countering". I don't understand your point here.

  • my-image.png

I'm probably going to get flack for Billy but in my experience when somebody does play him, they get reminded as to why nobody does.

  • @Kolossoni said:

You already had two hooked survivors then and only one escaped. You still got 1 out of 2.

Yeah, DS is OP but that doesn't mean you deserve those kills.

You used BBQ (a popular killer perk) to track down a free kill and yet you're not happy with them using a survivor perk to get a free escape?

I don't see the logic here...

If the killer went through the trouble of chasing a survivor and downing them, they ultimately won the chase and actually do deserve those kills, especially if they got punished for "tunneling" said survivor when that was not the case.

Not to mention, BBQ isn't free kills. BBQ is a tracking perk that has a 50/50 chance as to if you can even find the survivor given they could've moved at any point while you were traveling across the map. You'll also have to win the chase if you find them.

Not everything is black and white bud.

  • I've been into rock ever since I was little, probably because my parents had the genre playing all the time. Metal is usually ear-candy as well, but I get burnt out on it much quicker.

Three Days Grace has always been my "go-to" band, but lately I've been listening to:

    • Breaking Benjamin
    • Godsmack
    • Bad Wolves

There's more I could list off but for the sake of time I'm just going to leave it at 3.

  • Group A: Deathslinger - This one just seems obvious to me as I love the sheer panic the survivor shows before they're harpooned.

Group B: Ghostface - Gotta savor this moment, y'know?

Group C: Hag - As much as I like Legions mori because the survivors actually fight back, I find Hags satisfying because she literally rips your body apart before.. well.. feasting.

Group D: Oni - Easily the most brutal mori in the game. Been collecting tongues as souvenirs since day 1.

Group E: Spirit - Listen, I love Myers mori because it's sadistic as hell, but Spirits is a literal work of art with an entire scene dedicated to it.

Group F: Twins - I personally like how you can choose what twin kills them. Did you spend all match kicking Victors head in? Then he shall get his revenge!

Overall, if Oni/Deathslinger/Ghostface don't win, I've lost faith in this community.

  • I've had this happen like 2 weeks ago as survivor. Deathslinger was camping me in basement & when somebody saved me, he downed me on the stairs and couldn't pick me up, given I didn't know that would happen.

    That's what I call karma!

  • In reality you're right, but both sides need new objectives rather than just killer.

Until that happens, survivors will continue to end games within minutes by genrushing and killers will continue to do the same with tunneling/camping.

  • I can definitely recommend a few!

    • Monto - I personally can't watch this guys streams without laughing atleast once. He does fun builds & is a great commentator.
    • Puppers - Overall wholesome guy that is big into DBD cosplays while playing (he even did a locker once lol). If he talks a bit funny it's because he was diagnosed with ALS.
    • Umbra - I don't know what else to say other than this girl is good at every killer she plays. Her streams are usually very chill.

I'm forgetting a few others but these guys are awesome ^
