It really doesn't matter to me, although it does depend on the game I'm playing. Sometimes I'll feel like playing as a girl & sometimes I'll feel like playing as a guy.
-
Considering BBQ can easily be countered by hiding in a locker/getting behind a gen once you find out that the killer obviously has it, I have no idea why they think it's a good idea to butcher it.
I guess some people just want their win being handed to them on a silver-platter instead of working for it by adapting to their opponents playstyle & perks. Crazy.
-
The 1st build includes perks that are almost required to win at red ranks due to gen speeds with efficient survivors, so I don't think that is annoying at all given the circumstances.
The 2nd build could definitely be a pain in the *ss, but given that it's primary purpose is for endgame, the killer has a 50/50 chance at getting use out of it with NOED & BW being able to be countered. Though I will say.. Rancor is pretty scary when you're the obsession.
The 3rd build is what I picked to be the most annoying simply because some of these perks can end up with everyone being snowballed & out-positioned. Oni & Bubba would probably excel with this build due to their one-shot map pressure, assuming the survivors are average. Not to mention.. I don't like when my items are stolen from me :( I spent my hard earned bloodpoints on that ya know!
-
It depends on how far you take it.
If a survivor teabags you, you have the green-light to either slap em on hook or nod to repay the favor, although doing so for the entirety of the match after that is just overkill & continues the cycle of toxicity. This can be vise-versa too, with giving the killer a taste of their own medicine.
Despite this, I will say that you have to do it for good reason. BMing is toxic, while gameplay choice is not. You shouldn't BM a camping killer or an OoO survivor because that is how they want to play the game, compared to teabagging & slapping on hook which is usually done to piss others off.
-
Bully squads are formed in the purpose of making the killer DC/go AFK since the survivors aren't doing gens but are instead pissing the killer off & holding the game hostage.
An example could be the Head On & locker grab tech, in which that leads to almost unlimited stuns if the killer falls for it & flashlight saves when the killer grabs you from the locker.
Unfortunately people like this make others quit the game for good & it's sad to think about.
-
Playing against Spirit & Huntress is usually miserable for me mainly because of Spirit's little-to-no counterplay and Huntress's insanely crappy hitboxes.
Playing as Demo almost always sucks because I'm not too good with him & when I'm trying to go into a match to learn and have fun but instead get genrushed & BM'd, it puts me in a bad mood.
-
I second this. There should also be a preset option for outfits & perk builds imo.
-

-
Honestly, it depends on how you look at it. From the way I see it, people speak their mind constantly & make it very clear that both known & new issues on the forums are addressed, so it'll usually vary on how the game is doing.
An example could be on how survivor hitboxes & animations are being spoken up for right now as a temporary issue, while killers generally being under more pressure is a known issue. The forums is one big echo-chamber, so you're going to see a lot of both, but overall I'd say killers are definitely talked about more because they just have way more stuff to criticize imo (with the biggest thing being gen-speeds).
I play survivor 90% of the time yet I love to come to the forums to discuss tactics & builds related to killers simply because while survivors usually will have friends & such to do that with, killers don't have teammates & therefore will sometimes resort to either giving or asking advice on the forums to compensate for that.
-
She doesn't need a "huge" nerf because having a strong killer isn't the problem, the problem is having little to no counterplay against it. All the devs need to do is implement that old bug she used to have where if she passed by you when phasing, you heard it despite her physically standing still. That's literally it, problem solved.

In this world, you don't scare survivors; survivors scare you.
Ohhh yeah, I'll be cruising down the map & suddenly get a pallet slammed in my face. Gets me everytime.
-
On the survivor side, I'd definitely have to say I main Dweet because he's just the cutest lil thing, I mean look at him!
Nothing better than running around as a Dwight-in-a-Box with a chest build, considering I love giving presents to other survivors. Runners-up are Kate because her lore & cosmetics are amazing and Tapp because I love the Saw franchise.
For killer, I personally like to play Oni the most mainly because he's one of the most enjoyable killers to play imo & he performs well in high-ranks. I'm not going to ramble, but the amount of pressure he can put on a map with his Blood Fury is unbelievably good, especially if you have an anti-healing build. His lore & cosmetics are just a cherry on the top.
-
I'd definitely say Oni assuming he's going into battle with Blood Fury (because otherwise he'd be handicapped).
My reasoning for this is because:
- Oni is stronger & faster when in rage: Oni can 1-shot you while Pyramid Head takes 2 hits (ranged or not) while Oni can also either dodge PPheads hits or charge at him with Demon Dash.
- If Oni misses an attack, he could definitely get punished for it but I imagine it shouldn't be too hard to land a hit since PPhead has such a swole body, how could ya miss it?
- Oh yeah.. I honestly don't see Oni vaulting pallets & windows anytime soon.. so that would render PPheads power practically useless if Oni has half a brain when fighting him (not running in straight lines/baiting his attack). Not to mention, I'd doubt Oni would fit in PPheads cages xD
I dunno, I honestly think this question is a no-brainer but that's just me.
(I kept my answer as close to DBD as possible, rather than actual Silent Hill lore. Just saying.)

THE ######### CORNFIELD is the example of the ultimate survivor jerk off map. I know this because survivors will activity try to take you there with a SWF group. Funny enough, I have very good luck at mother's dwelling as Killer.
What's ya secret? I'll usually have to force a 3-gen most of the time because gens always seem to slip under my nose left & right on that map.

He isn't bad, just a regular old clown. I dunno, maybe I should be nicer to the poor guy :p
If I were to take cosmetics into consideration, I'd probably rate him higher.

I think going for this is more correct. Because the original Killers are BHVRs creativity, while the licensed Killers are just what they were in their respective franchise. So their design should not be rated high, because this is just how they look (and how BHVR HAS to do them).
Overall, I think that Spirit should be pretty high, she looks really good. Plague is also one of my favorites. It also depends if you want to take Cosmetics into account or not - with Cosmetics, Legion can become awesome, while Plague will probably downgrade a bit, since every Cosmetic looks roughly the same.
That's exactly why I did it. The only thing we might be able to take into consideration in terms of "originality" is the skins made for certain killers, with an example being Demos new c u m d o g skin.
Also.. if Plague needs to have some more "oomph" in her skins instead of the same ol stuff, the devs should just slap a Lady Dimitrescu skin onto her & call it a day😉.
-
I've had many deserved grabs turn into frozen-animation into survivor Sprint Burst-ing away towards shack.
It's beyond stupid & killers should definitely have the "priority" here, considering hatch does that.

@BattleCast said:
You don't need Pop, Ruin, Undying or massive game slow down to have a chance as Killer. You don't need to play scummy to have a chance as Killer.
Where is this ideology spreading from?
Are we playing the same game? No seriously, that's a genuine question.
If you don't bring said perks & tactics into a red-rank match, unless the survivors are boosted, you are ultimately screwed. Does this mean you have to play like that? No, but you sure as hell won't win 90% of the time if you don't.
No matter how efficient you play, if the survivors have half a brain & are all split up on separate gens, there is little to nothing you can do about it.
-
The best feeling is when I lead a 5-gen chase as survivor & get facecamped in the end. Sure, you got me, but at what cost?
The cherry on top would definitely be my teammates saving me with Borrowed Time & a gate 99'd, but this is solo queue, get real.

Maybe a Spider-killer?...Or worse...a human wasp 😰
A spider-killer sounds amazing. Imagine getting shot at with web & if you get caught in it, you'll obviously slow down.
It'd be even more interesting if they gave the spider something similar to Pyramid Head, where instead of going on a hook, they go into the spiderweb.

Call me sadistic, but lighting survivors up sounds fun. The only problem is that BHVR probably wouldn't showcase it well considering they aren't too gory/graphic with their animations/moris.

@Mistercookie said:
You can always try to run Kindred and Deliverance to negate a bit of those issues... maybe add Decisive Strike for good measure.
Solo queuing is pretty bad though and yeah people suck.
It's stupid on how you have to base your whole build around helping yourself because your teammates are practically useless.
Oh well.
-
Realm definitely matters because each realm has different sizes & layout.
In general, Haddonfield & Mothers Dwelling are good examples of bad maps for killers. Haddonfield has a terrible layout while Mothers Dwelling is huge, with gens on corners of the map. Contrary to this, maps like Dead Dawg Saloon are great for killers because of how small & easily controlled it is.
Not to mention, it depends on what killer you're playing. Ghostface might excel on The Game because he's a stealth killer while Billy would perform awful because he is a mobility killer.
-
This will only create more toxicity & unbalanced gameplay.
We don't need more SWFs & we sure as hell don't need some 9 year old screaming at you to heal them against a Legion.
-
I didn't include licensed killers since I wanted to make a tier list based off of BHVR's originality with their killers (visually).

Rank 4 atm but its due to reset and me not really trying to get back to Rank 1 which im usually there every reset but that's all i get at Red Ranks is baby survivors who think they're hot stuff but go down instantly.
I see. I will say playing against baby survivors isn't fun either, so I understand.
Look at the bright side though, atleast with them, you can meme around.
-
I wouldn't say I'm a devoted survivor-main, but I definitely prefer it a whole lot more when compared to killer. Killer is very stressful to play in red ranks imo.
Though I will say, playing killer a few times a week is always fun if I don't take it too seriously.

What rank are you? I'd love to switch places, my god.

I personally think Blight was a very creative idea & I couldn't think of anything they copied him off of. He's just a pinball who shoots up drugs to make himself a speedy boi, what's better than that?

So you're saying getting free hits isn't applying pressure?
Not always. Even if a killer ends a chase within 10 seconds, if the survivors have half a brain & split up on gens, they'll be done no matter how efficient the killer is.

The role isn't easy but its much more easy than its been over the past few years. And I also highly doubt you play 90%. Cause anyone who has been playing survivor that much through this update would realize that killer is very easy right now.
Just because I'm standing up for the bullsh*t killers have to deal with doesn't mean I don't play survivor more than half the time. Almost every single match myself and atleast 1 other person escape, and that's with rainbow ranks in solo queue.
Once again, getting hit when you're already over the pallet has made killer easier in terms of hits, but overall they still have to deal with constantly putting pressure around the map. Free hits doesn't change that.

Obviously no one is gonna sit there and maintain red ranks for your approval, but killer right now is at its easiest. Your probably just bad at the game.
Uhh, who said I wasn't able to maintain red ranks myself? Nice assumption that I'm "bad at the game".
If this guy is going to talk about how killers have it easy, I'd like to see why. He doesn't have to do it, but it'd sure be insightful to see what the hell he's talking about.
I play survivor 90% of the time & sure, killers are getting a lot of free hits with this awful update. Does that mean the role overall is easy? F*ck no.

Demodog is best boy.
But it's hard on some maps and survivors are really mean to you when you don't play a top tier killer; so it kinda pushed me onto other killers =(
I wish Demo could get snoot boops, instead of T-bags =(
Believe me, I know. Whenever I play Demo, I have the sh*ttiest time. Maybe I'm just bad?
I'll usually give Demo a sympathy kill whenever I go against him because 90% of the time he loses. No wonder nobody plays him :(

It’s fine. As long as you don’t insult her we’re cool.
If I may ask, what is wrong with Huntress?
Whenever I play against her, it seems like she always get ridiculous hits with her hatchets. I'll run behind a wall & before I know it, I somehow have a hatchet in my back.
Because of this, I find Deathslinger a lot more bearable than her.

Lmao welcome to how us Survivors feel... Killer is at its all time easiest. I can 4K all the way to Red rank within a few days. Killer is easy... I don't get what you guys complain about. Are you that bad??? Survivors already have it bad enough with the hits, and Devs already said it's 6% chance we escape... Them just saying that proves Killer is super easy. Don't weet it wrong, if there is a good SWF it's over for me lol. But good teams are super rare.
Hey, how about you record gameplay of you reaching & maintaing red ranks as killer? I'm sure we'd all love to see it. Make sure you 4k every match, too!

Sounds like you don't know what you're talking about. A lot of people (me included) have this problem, and can download 98 MBs in less than 10 seconds.
It's just the process after the download is completed that takes forever and happens only with DbD and no other game.
It has nothing to do with the connection's quality and speed.
Not to mention the fact that after EVERY major update the game gives an error to some people forcing them to verify the game files and download several GB of files again, with the same problem of taking ages to unpack/verify and install after it is download. I remember it even happed to McLean once during one of his streams. Oh well, must be his McDonald's connection I guess.
Dude, it was a joke. Why do you feel the sudden splurge to lecture me? Jesus.
Several of my friends have the same problem OP does & they have superb connection, so I would've known said common knowledge without you "informing" me. Thanks.
-
I'd propose a Hide & Seek gamemode instead:
- All survivors start off in the match with 2 minutes to hide & the killer is spawned in facing a corner frozen in place until the timer ends.
- Once the killer is set out to find the survivors, they will be notified. Maybe something like "let the hunt begin".
- There will be 5 minutes to find every survivor & they can only be hooked once. All of the survivors are exposed & will be able to hear a faint heartbeat when the killer is near, but not nearly as loud as the current one in-game.
Of course, there should also be a custom map made for this gamemode too.

If she gets a trap on you before last generator, if she wants you to die, you will die.
That means 3 other survivors win.
It's a loss for you, but win for the team, and loss for the pig.
Nothing to be done about this other than reworking the power, or simply nerfing her which is a bad idea.
Exactly. If she decides to keep all of her attention on you, she's practically throwing the game just to see your head pop.
If they would BUFF her, then she wouldn't have to resort to doing things like that as often.

Yea but the thing is that Barbecue & Chilli does require ordinary gameplay. You'll get 4 tokens most of the time without changing a little bit of gameplay. Not to mention that killers get most points regardless if BBQ is equiped or not. And I think the 100% healing speed bonus also can't compete with the aura vision that BBQ has.
BBQ & Chili requires you to hook people while WGLF requires you to unhook people. It's simple actions that make you earn the tokens. If anything, WGLF is better in this aspect since you can earn tokens from more than just unhooking.

So my question was and still is, why do these types of players pick Spirit? Why isn’t it Freddy? Or Pyramid Head? I can only comment on what I’ve experienced.

Assuming you mean a game-mode where you can only use their teachables on the survivor you're playing, I'd love this idea. It'll make you feel like you're actually playing the "role".
I would also like to add:
- You can only play the OG Dwight, Meg, Claudette, or Jake on the survivor side.
- You can only play the OG Trapper, Wraith or Billy on the killer side.
- Default cosmetics for both killer & survivor.
- Default maps.
- Cannot play more than one survivor at a time (this means you cannot have 4 Dead-Harding Davids).

Well, there's the problem. You need to play differently than normal to get your tokens. Imagine this situation: You are on one side of the map repairing a generator and your teammates and the killer are on the other side of the map. A survivor gets downed and hooked, and now if you want to get your stacks you'll have to make the objectively bad decision of running to the other side of the map, leaving your generator unfinished. Any of your teammates could've easily gotten the unhook on the other side of the map while you finish your generator, but WGLF makes you play stupidly if you want to get stacks.
Well, I'd like to believe that that's the point. WGLF sometimes has a risk-win reward & that's why it'll give you stacks, because you're working for it. It's not going to just give you tokens for ordinary gameplay, but rather going out of your way to earn it.
Plus, I'd like to argue that going for an unhook across the map for WGLF isn't going to happen most of the time. Unless your teammates are immersed & useless, they'll get the unhook before you're even halfway there. There is no doubt in my mind that you'll get your chance later in the game.
