Lag single-handedly loses the match for the killer.

Like the title says, in a bit of a complicated situation right now and I don't have access to my usual wifi. If I ever switch over to dbd before turning on hotspot, I get greeted by chases where I go for a swing only to teleport 10 ft behind them, try to use my power only for the survivor to disappear. And just in general a teleporting mess that makes it impossible to chase or move efficiently.

If you're a survivor lagging, as long as you avoid chase and have decent teammates you should be fine but with killer it gets in the way of everything. That's unrelated though, just please add a feature that gives you a warning that your ping is dangerously high before a match, the bar in the corner is pretty unnoticeable unless you're specifically keeping an eye out for it.

  • In my experience, whenever the killer is lagging, it seems to give them a massive advantage. We can usually call out a killer playing from Russia or china when they start hitting through pallets that they were a considerable distance away from and other really horrible experiences. The hit validation seems to be based on distance alone and not take into account obstacles and such, meaning you still get hit around corners and through pallets. I expect in more extreme cases its not advantageous, however.

If lag were made to be a consistent disadvantage for the people experiencing it, instead of a boon, more people would ask for such a feature. As it stands, its largely still quite exploitable, evidenced by the fact people are still using VPNs to region switch, so people dont seem to complain about it as much.

  • You're describing packet loss, not lag. Try VPN'ing on a stable connection and you'll find out quickly and easily how lag will single-handedly win you the game as killer.

  • It's not even just internet lag that'll lose you the game, but actual lag itself as well from consoles/low end PCs. There's been so many times I was about to get a down and Bloodlust kicks in, freezing my game.

  • The bar is in the same place every time. You're currently having internet problems. Why wouldn't you be specifically looking out for it?

  • wait is there a killer grab bug?

Average latency in a match makes grabbing survivors doing pretty much any action extremely difficult.

Playing other games first where the internet is rarely a problem, hop over to dbd to do dailies, forget to switch and have to suffer or leave the match because I forgot about it.
