I already did, I brought up Oni and used him as a comparison to Billy.

You however, thought is was "good reasoning " to compare Billy with stealth killers.

You're also assuming too much of me.

Btw, no they wouldn't call you that, LMAO!

I already showed how Oni was both a good comparison to Billy but not in the way you were claiming. I was comparing him to other one-shot killers, Michael and Ghostface just happened to be stealth killers. You said it was broken how Billy could one-shot, I showed how Ghostface and Michael both had the potential to one-shot a survivor without them even being given the chance to react, or how Leatherface one-shot was much harder to dodge.

Emphasis on the believable part. Ask that to anyone and I'm sure they won't take it as an insult.

That's because you didn't like my answers, but I'm fine with that because I'm not here to meet your standards of "good reasoning".

No, they'd probably call me a smartass. The time I asked you a fair question was because you provided an example of what you thought was proving your point when it was really proving the point of those who disagree with you. Also you should just stop talking if you don't want to debate then? Like what was your purpose then, I was trying to be reasonable and give you opportunities to counter my points and not only did you never even try, you kept saying the same thing I countered many times over. You really shouldn't share your opinion if you think you're some genius for not having the common opinion but lack the skills to back it up with logic.

Sorry to say, but your second response to me is where the insult is at, which you made before I ever replied back to you.

So perhaps be more believable, no offense.

I've already given you my opinion, you just don't like it.

Billys' change is justified, and I am glad he's where he is now. It was a good call given the little drawbacks he had.

No I didn't insult you, I asked if you were stupid, there's a difference. Sure you gave me your opinion, your opinion is that it was a justified change, you just never provided any good reasoning to back that opinion.

I understand just fine, you just can't take dissent well, which was clear to see the moment you tossed an insult my way, I just didn't bite.

You are not entitled to demand anything of me while calling me names.

Michael & Ghost face cannot one hit down you from a great distance, the only similarity they have is their one hit. Despite lacking Billys' speed, they still need to charge their power.

The most proper comparison with Billy is Oni.

I will also quote you here "IT DOESNT MATTER IF A KILLER CAN SPAM THEIR POWER IF THERE WAS NO REWARD TO DOING SO" , the reward is to have a survivor go from a healthy state to the dying state, that reward is still there, you just can spam to get it anymore & that is a good thing.

This isn't that complicated to understand,

Notice how I started off calm, it's due to telling you the same thing over and over again that caused me to start insulting you. You don't argue, you just completely ignore what I say and tell me I'm wrong without providing anything new. Also wow, just wow, you think you're right because you don't share the common opinion, ever stopped to consider it's the common opinion because it might just be right. Also didn't you know, it takes Ghostface 2.5 seconds to mark a survivor if he's leaning from a corner, the exact same time as it takes to charge up Billy's chainsaw, except with Michael and Ghostface they both have the element of surprise, leading to scenarios where the survivor is given no time to react before going down.

I'm just gonna start saying this, if you think Billy could down people from a difference without it being a curve, then you are simply bad at playing against Billy. The only time Billy could down a survivor who wasn't brand new from a distance is if it was a well placed curve (something that is now a pain to do due to the overheat system punishing a good Billy). Also Michael is similar to Oni, both are killers that have to charge their powers, and are both stronger than Billy when their powers are activated, wow what a surprise that is. Once again, no, there was no reward to spamming it because if you did the survivor could just dodge if they're more skilled and now they're give a few seconds to run away, if the Billy continues to spam and miss, that's just free gens for the other survivors in chase. Your quote against me doesn't go against any of my arguments because simply put, a good Hillbilly isn't spamming their chainsaw, that doesn't change from before the nerf to after.

I'll end it here because of ironically a fellow named TrollTroll has brought me new insight, you're just one person. You're wrong and proving you wrong is near impossible because you simply refuse to think about other's points, then get super defensive when someone insults you because of it. Changing your opinion will have no noticeable difference to me, many share my opinion that it was a bad change (simply because it was) and if you didn't know how to counter Billy so instead you turn to explaining about he was broken and needed to be nerfed, that's fine. Everyone will just tell you you're wrong and you'll ignore it like always. So I'm just gonna end this here, you refuse to provide any new points or actually attempt to counter mine so we're going in circles.

Don’t bother with people like him, if they can’t even deal with a pre nerf billy they were obviously quite trashy at the game.

I'm quite prideful and petty, but you're not wrong, I really shouldn't be bothered since he can't understand what I'm trying to explain. They do say “It's hard to win an argument with a smart person, but it's damn near impossible to win an argument with a stupid person” after all. I just don't like the state he's in right now, and it pisses me off to see people praising the devs for this clearly poor decision.

Well that's your mistake, I won't let anyone "shove " anything in me. So perhaps reconsider your poor phrasing.

I've already answered your questions, you just didn't like the answers.

He is capable of crossing the map at a high speed and can one hit down survivors with his power, being able to spam that is what's wrong.

What separates him is his speed while using his power, the only other killer that enjoys such a high speed and a one hit down ability is Oni, a killer with the proper drawbacks to keep him from spamming his power.

No you haven't, you haven't answered them at all, I've been repeating it over and over, hence why I said "shoving down your throat" and you still haven't been able to put two and two together. My phrasing wasn't poor, you just have no clue what you're talking about so you can't understand the counterpoints others and I have given you. Map pressure is his entire thing and was never overpowered (multiple other killers can also traverse the map quickly, you're ignoring that of course though). Once again, what separates him from other one-hit killers that makes it so broken? You haven't answered this. I don't see the being able to traverse the map quickly as a good answer, as I've already said multiple times, it's almost impossible to get a snipe with Billy against a good survivor. Meaning you have to traverse the map, all while being extremely loud, stop near a survivor, giving them a few seconds to run to the nearest loop, then he has to catch up and start looking for an opportunity to get the chainsaw for the down. That doesn't seem broken to me in the slightest.

In comparison. Both Michael and Ghostface can put you in a situation where you're one-hit with little to no time to react being available. Leatherface lacks the quick travel but makes up for it with it being many times harder to dodge his saw. A good Oni is impossible to dodge, so once again, much stronger in exchange for not always being able to use it. Also Billy had the proper drawbacks to using it power, you're still not seeing it.

Well people should know if this stuff can get them banned anyways.

You can get reported for rage quiting yes, have I ever seen someone banned because of it, no. 2nd one is a no, 3rd is no unless it's discrimination and your using racial slurs or something of that sort. 4th depends on the severity of the name but either way it seems immature just based on how you put it. 5th will never get you banned, I've gotten reported countless times because people accused me of lag switching back when it was peer-to-peer and I had ass internet, never once got banned. You won't get banned because someone reported you "just in case,"

  • Billy, he's been my main since 2017 and I know a lot about him, even got decent at curving but never mastered it since I play on controller and thought it'd be too risky. He just feels right and I think it's because of how long I've played him. I play a lot of killers but I'll go back and play Billy if I had a really rough match, he reminds me of what I like about killer and I feel like he was the perfect killer before the nerf. He's less fun to play since the nerf but my experience with him is still there so I perform well either way.

  • if you're talking about the automatic ban system mentioned, I'm pretty sure they were referring to one match getting reported by multiple people, if not, either way you're freaking about way too much about a system that was vaguely mentioned.

  • @A_Skinny_Legend said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2229835#Comment_2229835

I've already said this, but since you need to hear it again, spamming his ability takes no skill and he is not as difficult to maneuver as you conveniently say he is.

His cooldown was necessary, an ability as powerful as his cannot be left with so little drawbacks.

I am also only talking about him because this thread is about him.

I personally would compare Billy to Oni, that's a much more appropriate comparison.

Oni is a good example of having a powerful ability with the limitations to keep him from spamming his ability. Oni, at the very least, must injure a survivor and take the time to accumulate blood orbs so that he may fuel his power. Billy on the other hand, with his cooldown, must simply wait for it to come back on its own.

The cooldown is needed, I am glad that his spamming days are over.

You truly are dense if you can't grasp what I'm trying to shove down your ears, IT DOESNT MATTER IF A KILLER CAN SPAM THEIR POWER IF THERE WAS NO REWARD TO DOING SO. Once again I said his traversal is dependent on the map (literally any map that's indoors effectively neuters this part of his kit), what I said was actually hard was landing a hit after a charge, as unless you're specifically running a stealth build you won't land a hit against any experienced survivor (even with the add-ons that increase turning speeds). There were plenty of drawbacks already to his chainsaw before, you have to spend the time charging it up, which if you're using it in chase it's now a risk of losing a health state that you would've gotten if you didn't take the chance to get a saw. If you miss the survivor now has more time to get to a new loop, more so if they dodge a saw and cause you to hit a wall. I play both Oni and Billy and I'll tell you this, their powers are very similar but my entire point of comparing him to pig was that having the ability to spam a power doesn't equal overpowered. The difference is that Oni's power is many times stronger than Billy's, at the cost of needing to build it up to use it.

Oni's charge is much more useful in chases and you can easily get downs with it, even if it's not a charge, the charge up is much quicker than Billys and easier to hit. Plus the additional benefit of having some tracking on Oni when he's not using his power as the blood orbs can give you an idea of were survivors are or what they were doing. So yeah, they're very similar, Oni is better but can only use his power every once in awhile (though later in the match it'll almost always be available) while Billy is weaker at the benefit of always having access to it (or should always have access to it).

You're seriously missing my good points because you can't counter them. So to prove me wrong, answer these two questions with genuine GOOD answers. How did being able to use his power at anytime make him broken in the past? What about him separates him from other one-hit killers that is so broken?

  • @A_Skinny_Legend said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2229654#Comment_2229654

Preventing Billy from spamming his ability is a good thing.

The pig cannot one hit down survivors with her attack, nor can she travel the map at the same distance as Billy can, that is a poor comparison.

It's good that you realize that the overheat mechanic shouldn't be much of an issue for a good Billy, perhaps tell that to the Gargle guy, I already recognized that.

Also, yes I believe that he isn't as difficult to maneuver as you and the other guy suggest. It comes off more as something you said out of convenience for your stance.

With skill, it becomes more map reliant to determine whether or not it's difficult to traverse the map with the chainsaw, on some maps I'll never be forced to end before I want to, on others, it's impossible to use the chainsaw to get meaningful distance. However, my main point is that a charging Billy is easy to dodge, and it's hard to land. Also it's not a bad example, I wasn't comparing the map pressure part, as pig puts pressure on gens, Billy puts pressure on the map (if it's a map that complements him). My point was that both characters can spam their power in chase, Pig actually gets rewarded more for spamming her attacks, as it's easier to land them (so it only makes sense to have less of a reward). However, despite having no cooldown on it either, no one complains about that. There's already a cooldown involved on these powers, adding a cooldown on top of a cooldown just makes them unfun to play and is a poorly way of balancing anything.

Your argument is horrible and that's putting it lightly. You try to claim he has no skill but then don't provide why, having a one hit down power is not a good example, a good quarter of the rest can one-hit down in their basekit so why are you singlin out Billy, especially when his is one of the hardest to land?

  • @A_Skinny_Legend said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2229617#Comment_2229617

Spamming takes no skill, I'm sure if you keep at it you'll eventually land a hit.

As someone that's good as him and can land hits, this cooldown should be of no inconvenience to you, yet you act like it is.

He's more balanced now than he ever was before his needed change.

Sure eventually you might land a hit, same thing with Nurse, brand new nurse players will eventually hit someone. I mean it'll cost them the whole game but you know that's just broken if a hit is landed right? Your argument is stupid.

  • @Eninya said:

Hillbilly went from S+ tier to S tier with his nerfs, and people want him buffed back up. lol

Billy was never in S tier, S tier only belongs to nurse and arguably spirit. He used to be high A tier since he was strong but had a lot of counterplay against his power. His hitboxes are bugged now which makes it unfun to play him, overheat punishes you for using his power, and most of his add-ons are useless or reduce the pain of the nerfs given to him.

What people want is not a buff, it is a reversal of the unnecessary changes.

  • @A_Skinny_Legend said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2229039#Comment_2229039

Sometimes the survivor is about to vault yet the killer is adamant about going for the one hit down. When Billy did not have his cooldown this was all there was. He shouldn't be able to spam his one hit down attack. Now he is required to be more selective about it.

So yes, because going for the one hit down will always be the better option, he would spam his attack when there was no cooldown.

You're stupid aren't you? You just showed an example of how being able to spam the chainsaw didn't benefit Hillbilly in anyway. That survivor just gained a lot of ground because the Billy went for a chainsaw he wouldn't be able to land, and you're complaining about it? Also overheat doesn't effect good billys in this scenario whatsoever, because they actually know when and when not to go for saws, so yes, they would've just simply hit the survivor in the example given, making your point useless. Also overheat doesn't even prevent new Billys for going for the saw in this example, as they still could both before and after the nerf, only in the after nerf he also has some heat built up after the mistake.

You keep saying "one-hit down" attack over and over like it requires, especially after the nerf to his hitbox and the removal of aim-assist, the chainsaw isn't easy to hit. It requires preparation and prediction of where the survivor will be going, knowing whether they have something to dodge your chainsaw with. Even after all that there's still a chance the survivor will just spasm out in a skilless attempt to dodge it and the game will reward them because of the inferior hitbox now.

  • @A_Skinny_Legend said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2228813#Comment_2228813

No he doesn't, there was nothing skillful about spamming his chainsaw, especially right after missing a survivor plenty of times and still be able to use his base one hit down attack with zero consequences.

What other killer enjoyed to move around the map that fast, with a one hit down attack as his base kit and still get to enjoy to use his ability right away.

The punishment was that he had a cooldown animation after each miss, giving the survivor another chance to position themselves. The pig can go for unlimited ambushes, doesn't mean it's a good idea. Same thing applies to Billy, just because he used to be able to endlessly go for chainsaws doesn't mean it was a good idea to do so. He also can't use his ability right away, there's a 2.5 second delay before he could start. His saw is also easy to dodge when Hillbilly is going for a snipe so it's unlikely he'll consistently land a saw after a sprint, meaning he has to stop near a survivor he found, wait for the animation to end, then began chase. That gave the survivor enough time to make it to the nearest loop.

Sure there was nothing skillful about spamming his chainsaw, the real skill came from landing any hit you went for and knowing when it was a good time to go for it, using his speed and maneuvering so that you dodge all obstacles and get to the area you need to pressure quickly. Randomly using it only lead to getting punished. To sum it up, yes, the changes should be reverted and you clearly didn't play Billy.

This. Can we all stop pretending we don't know the rules by now?

The reason I'm saying this is because of twitter they said targeting someone because they're using the pride charm is a punishable offense, causing people to assume they can just report anyone who bothers them when they're wearing it. They later on went to say that proof needs to be given which is why I made this post.

  • @CountVampyr said:

It’s funny to me how big of a deal wearing this charm is, when in reality they are so tiny that I never even notice them on survivors. With killers they are a lot more obvious because of their hook placement.

Personally I never notice charms, but that's the problem. I'm worried that one day I'll get banned for targeted harassment when I didn't even notice the survivor I was camping during EGC happened to have a pride charm.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2227515#Comment_2227515

Not sure how that would be any different then a killer purposefully going after the megheads. Also it's basically impossible to prove anyway, thus un-enforcable.

The problem I see with it is the farming immediately afterwards.

  • Remembered I came up with a killer idea some time ago. I have no talent with drawing but you're free to use that story to come up with something you'd like. As for outfits I have nothing, you got most of my creative ideas from your other post.

  • @Hoodied said:

If you specifically target someone because they have the charm, its targeted harassment (usually if they kill only the people with the charm and farm with the rest or if they are to say it in endgame chat)

That's why I said there's likely exceptions, because in that it's very likely that's the reason behind the tunnel and camping. It's fair to report them in that scenario, but that's not what I'm talking about.

  • I forgot to mention that it's the same thing the other way around, survivors have always tea-bagged, flashlight and emote spammed in front of killers, equipping the Pride charm doesn't justify reporting them now.

  • I never heard about it being a bannable offense, as bodyblocking applies solely to killers preventing a survivor from leaving the match due to their hitbox forcing them to quit or die to EGC. However being able to is never intended and the devs have always been changing the maps to make it not possible to do (except for when they added it back on the farm before quickly reverting it).

  • @LordWack said:

I Block every player that uses the wraith.

Man that's just petty as hell. He's not even close to being the best killer.

  • Unrelenting, it's literally a perk for newbies alone.

  • Would it be a good thing to have? Yes.

Would the devs ever make cool skins and not put them in the shop? No.

  • Even if it's pronounced Fung, I'm still gonna say Feng because it sounds better and it's not like I'm pronouncing a real person's name wrong.

  • A second on the no, getting off the hook yourself isn't supposed to be likely, or else survivors would just bring in slippery meat and rescue themselves all the time. Attempting an escape should always be the last resort, getting off is the reward to the risk, but if you're trying it while the killers nearby, that's your own fault for messing it up.

Being in Japan, DBD often automatically connects to USA servers anyway depending on the traffic over here. With a good VPN which I use I get a decent ping.

but looking at the comments I see the point now. daytime solo players are very different from evening players. However the Japanese players won’t bait you etc, they just get on with it.

if I catch a survivor first few seconds and get them on the hook, no DC. That survivor will recover and end up being the strongest in the game.

I call bull but okay. I looked it up and found nothing and speaking from personal experience, I can only recall one Japanese speaking person ever being in my game, I've found more spanish and french speaking people in my matches than Japanese. It really sounds like an excuse to me because you weren't expecting to receive so much backlash for using a vpn instead of your main message how Japanese players are better and more respectful.

Yeah just as I posted I remembered that those points don't go towards the cap. A shame though, I was thinking I might be able to get pass the cap and get 3 mill before the event started.

  • Have you taken into account you're playing on servers you shouldn't be? Your suddenly horrible ping could more easily piss survivors off and give you the advantage in comparison to when you're normally playing on the servers you're supposed to.

  • Here you go:

    1. He cannot spawn them, there's two Zombies walking around at any time, however, if Nemesis chooses to destroy one they'll re-spawn shortly at another location.
    2. They are constant threats, however are incredibly slow so as long as you'e not in chase or don't get caught by surprise, you shouldn't get hit accidentally.
    3. There's many counters, stunning them with a pallet will destroy them completely (they still respawn), blinding them with a flashlight (arguably the better option) will leave them stunned for a decent period of time, and I don't know if perks like Head On also destroy them but it makes sense. Also they only injure you if you're actually infected, so you won't take damage on your first hit unless you've gotten infected by Nemesis. They're slow and follow you loyally so you can also lead them away from whatever you're doing.
    4. Killer is a 115% killer or 4.4 m/s, I believe he walks at 90% while preparing a tentacle attack.

I actually enjoyed it a lot. My main problem with it though was that the sets of outfits were just daily rewards so while you had to be determined to get the set if you wanted it, there wasn't any in-game challenge to receive them. I liked the crowns but at the end of the day survivors can't really use them and they were the only earnable cosmetic.

Other than that I played the hell out of it, have like 140 of the 4th anniversary cakes in total. I just much rather prefer the hallowed blight type of event.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xgjdsy1MpR0

Not what I said at all, for someone who keeps claiming I'm making up nonsense, you're doing it right now yourself, quite hypocritical if you ask me. What you're saying is that companies simply can do no wrong, that a game like no man's sky that was heavily rushed was completely okay to sell because consumers got what they paid for.

The devs have been doing events for a while, it's apart of the game now. If they're going to make no official statement saying they're no longer doing events then we should expect events, and halfway decent at least. By saying everyone should have no expectations of the devs then they get away with more, and that hurt the quality of the game. These codes aren't consumer friendly and these events are just excuses to put more cosmetics in the shop.

  • @Moundshroud said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2212971#Comment_2212971

We will just have to agree to disagree. I already have everything I paid for, and a lot more. I don't expect them to give me anything more than I've paid for, and understand that they are a business. Everything is a transaction. They continue to give us things all the time, and for that I'm grateful. I keep my expectations low so I don't get tilted like you appear to be. I suggested you lower your expectations because it is a better way to approach things for your sake. If you keep your expectations low, the worst that can happen is you get what you expect. At best you will be happily surprised.

You seem very defensive, and that isn't any of my doing. It has been my experience that people who get overly defensive are actually judging themselves. That is an uncomfortable thing to do and leads one to lash out at others. My original point, and one I stand by, is anything free they give us is still FREE STUFF and is above and beyond what we have paid for. I will have no complaints. I enjoy the game, and that is why I'm here. I agree with you and share your hope for a big event, but hoping for something and feeling entitled to it are two different things. We aren't owed anything more than what we have paid for.

You have a mindset that leads to companies being able to walk all over you. I'm not entitled and I'm not judging myself, I have expectations for a developer to do what they've done in the past or better. If they realized no one would mind if they stopped trying, then they would simply not try. You're once again trying to take the holier than thou route and act like you're not. If we're trying to take that approach, I can say the one's who assume the other's emotions have the weakest arguments. They don't have good points so they try to make it all about emotions.

  • @Moundshroud said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2212878#Comment_2212878

Heh. Holier than thou? I merely stated to start with that I'll be happy with whatever they give us. Free stuff is free stuff. I didn't paint you to be anything; I said we clearly play the game for different reasons. As to whether or not you are being unreasonable, I don't know. You do seem to have a "what have you done for me lately" view of their events. Is that a reasonable attitude to take? You tell me. Do they owe us events, or have we come to expect them? I told you that I share your "hope" that the event will be a big deal. I merely clarified that I'm not going to complain, moan and groan if it isn't. Are you saying you will?

This is a bad argument, by saying you're being reasonable and your claim is against mine you cannot be saying anything other than I'm being unreasonable. When you're disagreeing with my while complimenting yourself, it does depict the other as the opposite. My problem with the events is not that they haven't done anything for me, it's the lazy approach. Slapping together two new reskin items and an offering that just does the same thing as the past ones with a new image and calling it an event is lazy. If they said they're gonna stop doing events then that's fine, so long as they make up for it in other ways.

Also yes, we've come to expect events, and there's nothing wrong with that. The problem being is they actually tried on events in the past, but now it seems like they no longer want to do them so instead they either A: Slap together lazily and call it a day, B: Make it super grindy so it's more worth your time to straight up buy the cosmetics, or C: Make it a code cosmetic (effectively the worst form of exclusive cosmetics) and stopping it there. Also no you didn't, you started off with "lower your expectations" which goes back to calling me unreasonable. The point being is not every addition to this game should be seen as a transaction. If the devs are going to do events in the past, and say they're still doing them now, then they should at least try with it.

I never understood this. I mean, back in 2017 there was a Blood Feast for a few days, and that alone could have broken the Bloodpoint economy. Yet they did it.

Yeah they did it once and never again. If it wasn't so early into the game's lifespawn, it just might've.

  • @lagosta said:

There is no economy, players cannot exchange resources.

Also, BPs are purely grinding for bloodweb, you cannot exchange for iridescent shards or auric cells to buy skins.

They've called it the economy and so I've stuck with it. I get that the definition doesn't really fit but you get the point.

Hrm. As I said, we play for different reasons. My Custom Games with friends are always hard fought, vicious even. We don't get upset with one another about it because we go into them knowing we are going to fight tooth and nail for every inch. I stopped caring about the Grind long ago because I have a Scrooge McDuck vault so full of swag that I can play any Build I want, using the most powerful add-on(s) every match and I would never run out. I don't consider adding more things to the vault to be "progression."

To me, progression is getting BETTER at the game. My goals now are to get good enough to pull Otz, Monto, Stalky Boi, Jund, and their like so I'm competing in the hardest matches I can get. I will most certainly get my rear kicked, but I will continue to put my head down and charge until I can compete. That is MY idea of progression. I consider the grind nothing more than the gold stars we used to get in Kindergarten.

I digress. This thread is about the upcoming event. We agree on one thing; I hope it is a grand affair. I'd love it to be big, challenging, and bring new aspects to the game. Where we disagree is that it failing to do so would be some kind of failure or betrayal. What I want and what I expect aren't the same thing. I keep my expectations reasonable and low, so I'm not let down. I'll be happy with whatever we get, and I will still have the GAME which I love to play. It is win/win either way.

Jesus Christ calm down with the high and mighty attitude. You don't think I strive to get better at games I play? That comes naturally while trying to unlock everything, it's kinda hard to track your progress in skill. I'm aware that I'm really good with Hillbilly, but I was never striving to be really good with him, he was my main and I played him a ton, but never did I think "I'm only playing him to get better," I played him because I liked how he worked and enjoyed him. Also what's with that not so humble flex of I have everything in the vault? First off, it's just plain cheesy to call your inventory a vault, I get it, you've played the game a ton and got a bunch of add-ons and offerings because of it.

Also among the 3 friends I have that play this game, 2 are brand new and the last only plays once in a blue moon. They're not looking for a sweaty match where they're put head to head, and I'm not looking to go against them. Oh and another thing, you act like I'm being unreasonable, which is plain stupid. They've done events back when they were still a small team and they did a good event with the Hallowed Blight even (though with a rough start). That event was really good and I look back fondly on it. How is it unreasonable to ask for another event like it? I do claim it as a failure as in comparison to other games, not having an event on their anniversary when they're hyping up the anniversary stream is plain stupid. I don't see as a betrayal though because I'm not the drama queen you're painting me out to be. I'm not entitled, I won't throw a fit if there's not an event.

Either with, your holier than thou attitude is annoying and you've truly shown it off with this comment.

I think you kind of missed the point of my earlier post. If you aren't enjoying the game, why are you still here? I'll be honest, I don't care about new skins. I rarely ever buy cosmetics (Krampus being my one exception). I play the game because I enjoy playing the game. The Blood Points I earn are spent on stuff, as you would expect. The stuff, however, isn't the objective/motive. It is just fuel to play more games, because I enjoy the games themselves.

To put this more in focus, my friends and I play a LOT of custom games. We enjoy doing these and we don't care about the grind. Why would we? Everything we need is unlocked and available in a the Custom Games format, and we don't need Blood Points to play. Do you see the point I'm making, the very different way you and I approach the game. I play because I enjoy playing. That is my motive. You apparently need something else to motivate you.

I enjoy the grind, even if it frustrates me sometimes. I enjoy knowing I'm making progress within the game, and custom games often times leads to either no one trying leading to a boring match or a sweaty match leading to friends annoyed with each other. SWF is fun when I'm messing around with my friends while completing objectives and earning rewards while doing so. There are some games I play purely for the fun of it, but those games often don't have a progression system, or at least in the traditional sense.

Like I get what you're trying to say but the whole "lower your expectations" is another problem. The devs have so many forms of micro transactions that it would be fair is someone who didn't play the game thought it was free-to-play. There's $120 in dlc alone with a $20 base-game with even more money in the cosmetics. The whole "be grateful for anything" mindset is frankly unbelievable to me, I paid for the game and I buy dlcs, I now expect the devs to make fair changes and interesting events that reward me for playing the game. The grind itself is slow and unrewarding and it just keeps getting bigger, so yeah I don't play the game often purely for the fun of it. I however look forward to bloodhunts and events because they're opportunities to actually feel like I'm rewarded for the effort I put in and it pisses me off that they're just no doing them anymore because they don't want to.

Mindbreaker is not a good counter to sprint burst lol, mind breaker is an enhancer for sprint burst. You just enable players with sprint burst to 99 it whenever they want since they can tap a gen, 99 and go.

It's decent against dead hard I guess though.

I think the opposite, I've gone against a survivor who was truly abusing sprint burst to never be able to be chased I had too much pressure on me while it was happening so I could never commit to the chase as they would always sprint burst away from all the gens the other survivors were doing, but come right back once I left, effectively making it impossible to get them while trying to win. The scenario they're thinking of would be very rare, as the survivor would effectively have to stare at the gen for 39 seconds before starting, or whatever they had left, either way it wouldn't be the best strat.

On the other hand, dead hard would almost never get countered. As the survivor would have plenty of time to walk for 5 second to lose the exhaustion, either before the killer got to the gen who during chase. It'd only be countered if the survivor was working on the gen while injured.

  • There's two main theories as to why Legion was the way he was.

1: Legion's power was initially really cool involving all four characters in the match at the same time as his power, before getting toned down over and over into this pathetic state due to either the complicity of the character or that the game couldn't handle it without breaking completely (look what happened when they just tried two killers, game didn't work for months).

2: Legion came out during the same period of the release of the clothing shop and he was made to have four characters in his lore to sell more cosmetics and that's the only reason he was that way. This is the more negative theory and it paints the devs as greedy #########.

Either way they completely messed up the marketing as the Teaser hinted at a killer with DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) and the trailer painted him as a killer that could blend in as a survivor (which is something the community has begged for, while the devs revealed they would never do it), he ended up being neither which pissed everyone off.

They announced those buffs and even tested them on a PTB.

But as other have said that was a while ago and if you weren't paying attention to the news section you probably would never have noticed due to how useless they still are.

Eh they have uses now, Trail of Torment could be a good stealth perk and Mindbreaker now effectively counters the players that sit on gens till last second to just sprint burst away.

  • @Zenro said:

These were buffed a bit ago and were in the patch notes :)

Man, really wish they just got it together and started buffing weak perks more than once in a blue moon.

  • @Moundshroud said:

Whatever they do, big or small, is free stuff. I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. Lower your expectations and you will be happier with whatever you get. A big, fancy event would be great, but I don't come to play because of events. I come for love of the game. I think of video games like good barbeque. The best barbeque doesn't need a lot of sauce. If you have to drown it, you have lousy cuts of meat. If you don't enjoy the base game enough to play it without being bribed, you should probably find a game you enjoy more.

Except they don't, the previous halloween event was just some usable items and offerings, no chance to get free skins. Frankly with how the game is, there's not motive to play, the reward isn't worth the time invested so I only play for dailies. I want another objective, and since games drifted from hard to earn rewards like back in the old days and more towards events, I want good events. Behavior is no longer some small indie team, they have the capability to make events and events are what are popular now. I shouldn't be expected to pay for new content if I want something more every three months.

Yeah, I kinda want to get one on every survivor. I got every killer, but I could only find it with Claudette.

I grinded the hell out of it and got them for every character I owned at the time (both survivors and killers, except for licensed of course) and honestly, not once have I used them because they're actually detrimental as survivor but I like them anyways.

I love the crowns, but i think they should stay exclusive, i don't want them to be available every year, or at least they should be different so we can see who is using a 4th anniversary crown or a 5th

Maybe make them a different color this year? Black instead of gold? Still matches the entity and they could actually be used by survivors.

  • I mentioned it earlier but I'm really hoping for the silver skins. They were shown back in the 3rd anniversary but were never actual skins. One for Legion, Clown, and Spirit. They all look lovely and I'd love for them to be exclusive cosmetics. I'd hope for reskin legacy skins to be something you'd have to grind for (Like maybe a fourth prestige) to be able to get legacy where you can change it to any color except the original. I'll show you a picture of the silver legion in case you've never seen them before.

They really should do both! If they announce both, I'd play as both lol. I love playing as Shirtless David with his black jeans and black cap. Gotta show off that bod, you know what I'm saying? lol

As much as I love the shirtless Myers fan skin, they would never get the rights to make it. It'd be like asking the right holders if they could make their iconic killer a joke.

  • @dspaceman20 said:

While I agree with you and hope they do more for the anniversary event I do also hope they do crowns again. I want a crown for elodie.

Oh it's already been leaked the crowns will be coming back, there were leaked images showing that a crown cosmetic for Blight had been made. I'm not against the crowns coming back, I think they're not amazing looking so I'm completely fine with them just becoming a collector's item sorta thing every time the anniversary comes around.

What baffles me in addition is how people are getting at your throat for even suggesting there might as well be two new killers. It's the 5th anniversary AND the 20th chapter, so why not?

And yeah, some of the reasoning why it can't be a certain character but MUST be another are ridiculous. Especially with Lady D, when people say 'she's not iconic enough' (and I look at the cater-to-k-pop-fans chapter that is All Kill which had for all we know a shorter development time than the collab for RE) or 'she's too big' (as if the entity hasn't messed with physical shapes before) Not to mention... about height...

in the Game map, we have a passage was that say 1.98 m max... yet there's at least three heads space for Deathslinger and Plague... are you telling me these two are smaller than 1.98?

Two new killers would definitely be surprising, but I doubt it. They can't handle one ambiguous killer without breaking the game (Twins), you really think they'd make two different powers? Especially with characters that resemble each other so closely you could easily just make one a skin and no one would complain. It would explain why Trickster was so bland though.
